It most certainly will do. Even the trailer which shows Steve Rogers prior to his transformation, it already made me feel good. The scene with the trash bin lid and the thrown Grenade, its inspiring. Just watching the trailer already gives me goosebumps. I can't imagine how I will feel when I actually see the movie. I'll probably go screaming like a crazy fan girl. I'm even thinking of taking time off work just to see this on the first day! (Obviously I'm obsessed)

that fighting did look pretty impressive.

I don't know anything about captain america except for the movie i once saw which was boring and awful.

but in this clip he can really fight well.

The Syfy Channel's showing three Captain America movies tonight. The first two were supposed to be a launching pad for a possible series like Spider-Man & The Incredible Hulk. The other had the Red Skull looking ridiculous at the end.

My dad & I are gonna see the movie on Sunday since I'm off from work. Plus, my sister is throwing a baby shower for a friend of hers.

Lemme put it this way, Ryuki -- there's a reason Cap's called both a Living Legend and a Super-Soldier ;)

Don't forget "The Star Spangled Avenger".

It would be best if you forget the movie you once saw. None of the earlier movies managed to do Justice to Captain America. Even the last movie back in 1990 that stared Matt Salinger, which I think was best among all the others, is still far from the Cap that I know. With regards to Cap's fighting style, he can be considered as one of the best hand to hand combat experts in the Marvel Universe, even matching that of Wolverine. It would be cool if Logan had a cameo in this, but it's highly doubtful seeing that Marvel still doesn't have the rights to the X-men movie.

That version is on right now.

I remember an episode of "X-Men: Evolution" showed Wolverine teaming up with Captain America and saving the young man who would later become Magneto.

Found this wonderful trailer featuring the shield fighting scenes from the movie. I gotta say, I love the way he swings his shield around. Exquisitely wonderful.

I don't know if anybody has seen the movie yet (I'm watching it on my birthday) but apparently it is pretty awesome, just for the fun of it i'm going to post these videos that parody the DC/Marvel movie war, need to watch them in the order i posted them to understand this series better:

Thor vs Green Lantern

Green Lantern vs X-men

Green Lanterns vs the critics

Green Lantern vs Captain America

Saw it.

Made me happy.

Avengers Teaser.

Made me happier.

A solid 7/10. Certainly not the worst Marvel movie thus far... But Iron Man is hard to top. It hit most of the right buttons it need to. Captain America slips a bit short... But not by far.

Captain America's origins are REALLY old. But they updated and handled it very well. So well in fact, that they never skipped over hardly any of it... Which means we get a LOT of "Non Action" stuff, before we get any action at all. They did a pretty impressive job on making Chris Evans look small and skinny... Sometimes it looked a little bit fake, but an exceptional job was done with it.

I loved him in his "Campy-Classic" costume as he was being "used" in the stage shows. However, it really showed how he got to be so popular with the Americans at home, rather than the American troops, who totally were not impressed. Then of course he does his big infiltration/rescue mission, and becomes what they originally hoped... And more.

Up until this point, I thought the movie was awesome, and one the right track.

Then they started a montage of action scenes as Cap and his team ( The Howling Commandos, minus Nick Fury ), and seemingly rushed the ending. The whole latter plot parts of the movie seemed rushed pretty poorly, mixed in with a few really well done action scenes. But I can kind of see their dilemma... He's already Captain America now. All that is left is to kick ass and destroy Hydra bases. I just think they went to a lot of trouble introducing his hand picked team... And not spend any time on hardly any of their quirks. Especially Bucky.

Bucky this time around, wasn't some kid reporter who lucked out and found out Caps identity. In the comics, a few years back, they also revamped that, by calling that origin as his public cover story. They then said he was a hot headed special forces soldier, who lied about his age on registration. Thus, Bucky COULD fight, and wasn't just some dumb kid. For shorthand in the movie though he was made a soldier... That had been Steve Rogers' best friend. Not really the same, but did give a reason for their friendship. Then of course they at least set up his destiny as "The Winter Soldier"... Which was nice... Despite the fact they just killed him off in the comics anyway.

Overall though, a very solid 7/10... Almost an 8/10 for me, but I think it fell short just a few times.

saw freakin loved it.

the stage part was so hilarious... but sadly accurate. those "buy our bonds" ploys were that pathetic.

even tho i loved this movie and chris evans did a great job as steve rogers, he only sold it, that he was THE captain america when he woke up at the end movie.

"where am i?"

"new york"

looks around.

"no really, where am i" he asks firmly.

that is what cap is. not only is he a superstrong soldier, but he has that type of confidence to back it up!!

I saw it with my dad and he actually enjoyed it. He was skeptical about it at first. And we were BOILING in our skins in the theater because the A/C was busted.

OMG!!! I loved it. No matter what you say about the movie, I definitely love it. You know the trailer where he covers the grenade? My heart actually skipped a beat when I saw it in the theaters. I was holding my breath and was actually about to cry! True Story. Few movies have ever moved me emotionally. I didn't even cry in Bambi. But that one single scene brought a tear to my eyes.

Tommy Lee Jones, I find his humor to be very hilarious.

I'm going to watch it again!

Wait, so Cap was the last roster (movie) for the Avengers? I always thought that they would deliver the original team which also consists of Ant-man and Wasp. I've even heard some rumors about an Ant-man movie. So they're switching Pym off to Barton?

Posted

Barton was an original avenger too so its not really switching and baron did not get his own movie either, I'm guessing they where not popular enough to make a movie out of them and will only appear exclusively on the avengers movie, maybe a cameo? or they may appear on the sequel IF there are any plans for it, if in the sequel the main villain is decided to be Ultron then be sure that Ant-Man will be there too, can't have one without the other.

Posted

What other Cap villains do you see appearing??? I'm thinking Crossbones & Baron Zemo.

I was also thinking Batroc the Leaper, Flag-Smasher, Machinesmith, the Serpent Society, the Watchdogs, Arnim Zola in full robotic form...I could go on, but you get the idea.

No guys, you have it all wrong.

The villain in the Avengers movie should be...

Kang.gif

What could compel him to come to our time? The Cosmic Cube. The only thing that could make him more powerful than he already is. He went up against the Avengers in... lessee... #8. And he damn near smeared them, even Thor. Only through the intervention of Rick Jones of all people he was finally defeated (and boy, was he surprised).

Ultron is compelling, though. He's my favorite in many ways, and so much more honest than Kang. A machine that hates - what could be innately scarier than that? And he will never stop.
