english is awkward
Based on my observation, American English tends to be more lax in terms of spelling. They use the term donuts more mainly because it is easier to spell. Since it is made of dough, I would say that the correct term is doughnut, but "donut" is also an accepted vernacular with the popularity of Dunkin' Donuts. The spelling "doughnut" is more widely used outside the US. Oh great. Now I'm craving donuts.

Not many people are aware that "ghoti" may be pronounced as "fish". I myself has never heard of it before my high school teacher played us with it during class. This word may not sound like "fish", but its somewhat difficult to say 10 times fast: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Well, I'm done uploading all the new images for the Zaonoid page. Most of these came from the VDF and the other from the japanese raw that I previously acquired.

english is awkward
Sometimes I find it difficult to understand other people due to their accent. Although I understand what they are saying, it takes me a moment to analyze what they were saying. I myself don't have an accent, even when I speak other languages, so it's not difficult for me to speak other languages. My Japanese instructor even commended me that I speak like a Japanese.

english is awkward
Just a thought, I happen to find it amusing that the language is called English in general, but in the UK, it is what some people would call British English, when in fact, when you say English, you are denoting a Gentleman from England, which is ironically a part of the UK. Should there be then such a language that should be called Americanish? Also, when you name a certain language, you simply put -ese at the end the country's name? Like Chinese, Japanese, Porteugese, etc, why not Englese?

Actually oriental language almost have the same grammar. Cantonese, Fookien and Mandarin all have the same grammar and only differ in pronunciation. Japanese sentence structure is also similar to them. So it is fairly easy for oriental people to learn of thier other counterparts language. Example, "my name": Ngo ge Meng - cantonese Wo de ming - mandarin Gwa eh mya - fookien Ore no Namae - Japanese see the pattern? But when it comes to learning english, they would have to reverse the way they construct sentences. This is mostly the predicament of most non-english speaking countries. But like Ryuki mentioned, there are some non-native english speakers that speak fluent english and is able to manipulate words. I think the reason for this is that they really study the language and how sentences are properly formed. Unlike for native speakers, they learn the language mostly by ear and sometimes accept colloquial phrases as the correct vernacular. And lastly, I also wonder how some people couldn't distinguish the usage of "its" and "it's".

Christian's Arrested At muslim Festivial In New York
In this case, it would be much better if you can watch it yourself. But I will try to convey to you what happened. Although my description would contain events not necessarily neutral but based on how I see it. The event started out with the guy praying over another person. With a crowd slowly gathering in this guy, a few people approached and asked questions. Of course, the guy answered in return. The most notable question that I can remember is one boy asked why is "Christian better than muslim", and he asked this with a smirk on his face. And the question and answer continued with the people asking question in a sarcastic way. Minutes later, a few police officers arrived, asked the guy to come with him and handcuffs him. All of this happend in a casual way, no shouting, no violence, no sharp reaction. Only notable points about this is the hidden contempt on the faces of the crowd. Just to add my two cents, if the crowd was trully interested in learning what was being preached, they wouldn't have that scornful smile on their faces.

Hell knows why indeed. The file size was a mere 214kb, practically the same size as that of Kabrals. I guess it was the software not being able to handle a wider resolution.

english is awkward
Almost everyone who speaks the english language has only a grasp of the surface. If English is such an easy language, there wouldn't be such profession as an English professor. For every language, there are levels of complication. Language is not only limited to grammar, but also vocabulary and articulation. I'm afraid that colloquialism has far buried the intricacies and complexity of the english language. Using the sample of lend and borrow, lend is used when the owner initiates the action of lending, while borrow is used when the borrower wishes the owner to lend his property. But I'm sure many will not notice the difference of these words. Sad to say, the current usage of english can be compared to how the net uses leet speak. It is especially annoying wen u spk lyk dis. This is mostly common on mobile phone text message. I'm afraid with the advent of wireless and online communication, peoples ability to express themselves have made them lazy in using much more complicated terms, and only concern themselves in the expression using much simpler dialog. I would also admit that without this board, my ability to speak in english might be hampered, as english is not widely used in a daily conversation from where I come from.

I've re-uploaded the image in the office since I have a much stronger connection. But it looks like the results were the same. All it showed was a blank white page. So I was thinking it was probably the size and resolution. Since I reduced the image size by 25%, it worked. May I inquire as to what is the maximum size or resolution the wiki allows? The original image I tried to upload had a resolution of 1154 x 1938 versus the 866 x 1454 that I just uploaded.

Thanks for that. I think it was during the upload the caused the file to be corrupt. I'll fix this later when I'm sure my connection is stable.

Ryuki, could you check the latest changes I've made in the guyver page? I've moved the "Guyver Gigantic" page to "Gigantic", so that I could use that page for the template of Sho's gigantic. However, my connection is very screwy at the moment and I can't view the wiki page. When I try to load the "Guyver Systems" only a white page appears. I'm not sure if the image I uploaded of the guyver gigantic is the cause of it, because it happened after I uploaded the image. That's also the reason why I uploaded the image twice. I was trying to make it similar to Gigantic Dark. Thanks.

True. But I don't believe what you call the "big 3" as the only propagator in conflicts. Perhaps that is what many think mainly because they are mostly covered by the news and a majority thus the frequent attention. I'm not even sure what your "big 3" is. What you refer to as those who become self-centered due to their beliefs are what you call fanatics. And we all know what happens to fanatics driven on the wrong direction. It's usually personal attacks and they are using religion as their justification for doing such. I won't argue about the sports/religion issue since it is not relevant. And believe me, religion has caused far more stupidity than the one posted in this topic. Remember the crusades?

I don't think it's religion that divides the people but rather the self-centerness of individuals who insists their beliefs into others. This issue is the prime example, that Christian guy was insisting his beliefs to a muslim community. Religion is not what people are arguing about, but rather who has the best religion. it's the age old vice of all men, trying to see who can piss the farthest. With the current issue at hand, I can simply substitue religion with a local sports team and you will still get the same result. Heck, I've seen a more violent reaction on a sporting event.

page: Zoaforms
Don't you think it would be redundant to link the zoaform page from the main guyver page seeing that the page itself is already incorporated into it's own page? In any case, I've moved all the info of the zoaforms in the main page to the zoaform page, and used it as a template on the main guyver page.

Done. Re-uploaded the image. This time I didn't use the magic wand tool. Hopefully this would be better.

Yup, I get the images from the VDF and edit them. At first I edit them using the magic wand tool in Photoshop, but I found that the edges doesn't quite look right if I did that. But on the most recent images (zoanoids), I manually edit the edges. And usually, the images I upload are larger than the ones that I replaced. Is there a specific image that you want redone? Perhaps an example so that I won't repeat them later on.

Totally agree. But then, if we do that, should we remove the link for the zoaform in the navbox since it's already part of the main guyver page?

Japanese Word of the Week
Could be, depending on the context. If the subject is the detective, then yes, it can be harsh detective. It could also mean that being a detective is harsh. But in this context, yes, I agree with you that it means Harsh detective, or detective is harsh.

Christian's Arrested At muslim Festivial In New York
Okay, I took the time to watch the actual video of what happened. I'm not sure what you guys think, but it looks to me like the crowd was being sarcastic to the guy answering all the questions. The fact that he acknowledge the question "Why is christianity better than muslim?" would already make sparks. Being in a muslim event preaching, even though it was the crowd asking questions, is already an action of bad faith. You do not preach in a muslim event. Period. Sure, the police officers may have handled the situation in an exaggerated manner, but I still think those 4 guys shouldn't have done what they did. No, they don't deserve what happened to them, but I don't think they should have gotten off lightly too.

Looks good to me. But if we go that route, I'm afraid I won't be able to help you with the shading. My sense of color is really screwy. Unless of course we only use a simple gray toning. That I can pretty much do. Anyway, to help you out a little, I can upload images for non-existing ones, or the ones that needs new images, then I'll have to leave the rest to you, if you are fine with that arrangement.

You have a point about the white background, some images does seem to be pale. But a simple adjustment of the brightness and contrast might be able to fix this. Well, my only issue with the black background is due to the grainy appearance it produces. But with a larger image and better editing, I think it would be fine. I guess I didn't like the black background before when I was doing the zoanoid pages and noticed how poorly the quality was. But the guyver images looks crisp. Ideally, I think having a colored images would be the best, but unfortunately, the availability is very limited. If you asked me to choose between a shade of color or the current black background, I'd choose the black background if the images were as crisp as the guyvers, more so if we are using black and white images.

I do apologize first if I offend anyone with this post, but such issues are very fickle to the point of irritating. These kinds of incidents always happen because of the persons involved being narrow minded. I see certain religious groups denouncing gay, arabs, and other minority groups which I think is wrong. A certain religious group protesting a minority would be the same as oppression, which is the exact opposite of Freedom of Speech. The extreme opposite of this issue, like what just happened, is just as bad. Remember that anger can lead to people doing reckless and irrepairable things. So to those who put picket fences, make a rally or demonstration and do protest, I think these people are just narrow minded.
