  1. Well, Luffy and Ussop did consider the Going Merry to be part of the crew. It was even a miracle that it survived that long with the state that it was in. I guess you can say that it was an equivalent to the Going Merry's "Guts" that made it survived that long. For the moment, I don't see any potential crew member material in any of the free characters presented. Besides, any new members that would be joining them would have to be insanely strong.
  2. I just remembered something. I always did hated what Shinki Ikari became in Evangelion. Sure, at first I was symphatizing with him because of how he was treated by his father and his peers. But later in the series, particularly in the point where he met Kaoru, I really find him to be an incessant whiner. God, even jacking off to a comatose girl. *shudders*
  3. If it would be any help, the original 1979 First Gundam has been compressed into 3 movies. This goes the same for Z Gundam, although they changed the ending a bit for Z Gundam. So that would be a lot less episodes to watch. If you're just looking for the Amuro X Char angle, just watch Gundam, Z Gundam, skip ZZ Gundam and then the Movie Char's Counterattack. You could also watch Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory to know what made the setting for Z Gundam (Last Blitz of Zeon if you want the abridged version, but I don't recommend it).
  4. If they are as strong as Arlong, then the straw hats wouldn't need to be worried. I think that Hachi was supposed to show them the safer way. But you know the straw hats, they always avoid the safest way and go through the most dangerous path. As Luffy would say, what fun would there be in taking the safer path? If Fishman island is 10000 meters under the sea, do they have air there? I hope they won't need the coating when they reach fishman island. That would kinda restrict the movements of the straw hat. Perhaps Robin might be able to find a clue to what she has been looking for.
  5. Yeah, that's kinda what makes One Piece so good. It's silliness is beyond absurd that its actually funny and cool at the same time.
  6. Yeah, Code Geas was a good anime. The good guy that turned bad guy ultimately became the fall guy for the good of all. The ending was such a sorrowful, yet impressive ending. I actually symphatize with Lelouch for what he did. And the responsibility is just too heavy for Suzaku to bear alone. I would say that this is one of the best ending that I have ever seen. but yeah, Gundam FTW! You have a lot of catching up to do. That's 31 years worth of history you have to deal with.
  7. Ah I see. I may have another theory in that. I think that organisms in the prehistoric era are somewhat strong, so a bacteria that may be harmless then might be fatal in todays environment. Since the Comodo Dragon is a possible descendant of the dinosaur, perhaps the bacteria in their saliva may have not changed from their prehistoric times, thus becoming fatal to todays standards. But then, after reading the wiki for Komodo Dragons, it was stated that in a research conducted in Singapore at 2009, MRi scans shows the presence of venom glands in the skull of Komodo dragons, and found that it secreted venom containing toxic proteins.
  8. I don't think so. Based on the common physiology of organism in the planet, it is mostly the pint size animals that have poisons. Posion secretion are usually used for defense or sometimes a necessity for the animal to survive, sometimes used as an edge to even the playing field for their larger predators. Dinosaurs being humongous as they are, would not need the poison in order to survive.
  9. リュキさん、いえ、全てはばっちりです。
  10. I find marvels current storyline to be lacking the "pull" that they had. Planet Hulk "wowed" me, House of M left me in shock, they had me symphatized in Civil War, didn't particularly liked Dark Reign, but Seige really excited me. Im not exactly sure what Shadowland is going at and my level of interest in Marvel is slowly going down. For DC however, I'm also having a hard time shallowing at what Bruce Wyane had declared to the whole world. I'm still hesitant because whatever change they make in the status quo usually ends up right back at the start. Superman, dead? Nope, he's just hibernating. Flash dead? Nope, he's just one with the speed force. Green Lantern dead? Nope, he just became the temporary avatar of the Spectre. Batman dead? Nope he just traveled through time. So who's not going to die next?
  11. With the Red Comet piloting, who needs funnels? Everything's already modified to be 3 times as fast.
  12. Hahaha! Nipple lights!!! FTW. Would be mildy erotic if Franky was a girl. Hahaha!!! I have to admit, that was greatly unexpected, and it was really hilarious! Have to hand it to Oda to have a ridiculous comeback.
  13. Not to mention the gratuitous insinuation about breast sizes among all the different female characters. Imagine, having a button fly off just because of huge breasts.
  14. Cool, the big three are as crazy as ever. I LOLed at how Sanji arrived to his blue walk technique.

  17. How about we revive this thread. The beautiful Cha Sun Hwa in uniform.
  18. Bah, Quesada may have been a good Editor-in-chief, but I also find his decision to split Peter and MJ a bad decision. It just had to be Aunt May, doesn't it. I'm also not following spiderman much, but I'm somewhat aware of his current events. I'm just a casual reader and I don't have a company preference. So far, the only physical comics I have are the ones that came out during the 90's. Mostly Jim Lee comics since he's my favorite artist, and majority of them Image from their former glory days. Nowadays, I'm just a stinking pirate. If I can't find the comic, I just rely on wiki for the info. With Dark Horse reviving some of the classic valiant heroes, I'm wondering if the value of the valiant comics that I have would go up. I do enjoy the occasional DC elseworlds story, and those are what I'm currently hunting.
  19. I'm done reading the Thanos Imperative. Well, not quite grand scale as I'd hope. True, it involved the battles of the powers cosmic, but they didn't seem too epic like how the Annihilation was. I mean, I saw the cosmic entities, and said "oh there they are" and that's that. I swear, the pacing of the story made me think all those happened in a span of few hours. Is that it? Truth be told, I found the story to be wanting. I'm leaning very close to disappointed if not for what happened to the 2 heroes at the end, and hoping that there is something more to come. I can see lots of plot holes but I'm giving marvel the benefit of the doubt.

Indeed. Education is always good. The more credentials you have, the more you bypass the automatic filters set by companies. If I'm not mistaken, you're just one degree short of being called a Doctor. So instead, we will call you Master Ryuki. *in the voice of a stereotypical hunchback henchman* Yes, master, yes!
  21. Good question. Correct, "Ten" is another another word for heaven. And if you use "Ten", the equivalent of earth would be "chi". Typically, "Tenchi" [天地] is already heaven and earth, and as the anime "Tenchi Muyo" [天地無用], literally, this means "no need for Heaven and Earth", hence the subtitle "no need for Tenchi". Or, if you are really particular about the "and", you can simply say "Ten to Chi" [天と地], but this is seldomly used. On a side note, some people prefer the term "Tenjou Tenge" [天上天下], which means "throughout heaven and earth". Breaking it down, its literal translation is "above sky below sky".
  22. Watching MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN! Kickass!!! Char Lives!!! Sieg Zeon!! Sieg Zeon!! Sieg Zeon!!
  23. OMG! W Cyclone Joker is the next SIC!! That's sick! Unfortunately I can't post pics here in the office, but it looks kinda cool, especially with the scarf thing.
  24. Wasn't the Imakarum figure just released recently?
  25. Okay, reviving this again. Since it's a monday, it's a nice way to start the week with our weekly dose of Japanese. This weeks phrase is most often used colloqually or informally to denote that nothing is wrong, or to put it simply "no problem". 問題ない (もんだいない) [Mondai nai]. Typically this is used as a response for inquiry regarding your current state. Are you alright? =Mondai nai. (no problem) Are you having problems? =Mondai nai. (no problem) Can you really do that? =Mondai nai. (no problem) In actuality, this phrase is a rather monotonous response, in which you can use other replies like "Daijobu" (it's alright), or "heki da" (it's fine). This is somewhat of a formal phrase combined with a casual way of delivering it. Formally, it should be "mondai nashi" like how a soldier would reply. But since "-nai" is an informal usage, this reply comes as an informal, but stiff reply. Yes, that's the word I'm looking for. Stiff.
