  1. I've bought all the ingredients necessary to make Milk Tea (with the exception of tapioca pearls, as I don't like them). I'll test it out tonight to see how my concoction would fare against the leading milk tea out there.
  2. Okay, I don't think I said anything about putting the viola in the drink.did I? Right back at yah. As for "stewed" tea, I'm not entirely sure. There are two things you can do for it. It's either you risk doing the same process where there will be two outcomes, or adopt your prefered way of preparing tea. As for condensed milk, I'm not sure how cream will affect the taste. Pardon me for saying this, but such treatment to milk may be considered snubbish to others. Not sure about the ingredients over there, but cream is too rich and doesn't have the right flavor. Cream being rich is probably the reason why condensed looks cheap. As for the sugar, it will depend on how much your sweet tooth can handle. I prefer mine to be very sweet. There are establishments that allow you to choose your sugar level, but generally, this drink is sweet. The key here is to experiment. There are processes that we think is not acceptable only to find out that it's the exact opposite of what we expected. Like I mentioned, this information comes from the information highway (internet), so I really can't confirm any of it as I have never actually done it. Hmm... perhaps this is a good time to try making one myself. This is actually the beauty of milk tea, it's inexpensive to prepare but still give out a soothing taste, and when you sell it, you can charge a lot. A standard milk tea over here, the good one, sells for around $2 for a large drink.
  3. That's perfect. Just tell her your plan to expose the truth. Remember, the Truth is out there. *cue erie X-file music* What is it with girls? You tell them something and ask them to keep it a secret but they don't. is it some sort of instinct that compels them to tell somebody something they just heard? This is where gossip starts, one person tells another person the story, but with slight modifications. Until a few people in between later, the story completely changes. I bet the situation with the girl is not that bad, just exaggerated. I'm guessing that it's not like she slept with another guy, but just hanged out with him and wouldn't want to make her boyfriend jealous.
  4. Worry no more. Thanks to the information highway, here are a few easy steps in making your own milk or bubble tea. Boil black tea leave, the longer you boil, the richer the taste would be. Be sure to drain it properly. Don't want you to be sipping leaves. Mix cold condensed milk to the tea. (although you can add hot, my preference is cold) Add sugar to sweeten. Add syrup of desired flavor (can be almond, vanilla, chocolate or anything you want. Limited only to your imagination) Option for you to add tapioca pearls or pudding (or even red beans, Lime jelly or black bricks) And viola, you have your very own milk tea. Of course you'll have to figure out the amount of each ingredient for yourself since it will vary depending on your preference. I'm guessing that it would be 1 part tea and 2 parts milk. But don't take my word for it.
  5. Opening a tea house does not neccessarilly mean that you are only serving drinks. A different thing that you can actually offer is the Lifestyle. Don't promote the drink, but promote it's benefits and its way of life. Opening a business is always a risk. But it's still something that you can manage, given the right skills and knowledge. Similar to Starbucks, they're not only serving you coffee, they are serving you the prestige. Or rather, that's how it is presented here. I just thought up of a good business proposal. Maybe there's a market for "International Tea House". A bar that serves not only the herbal tea variety, but specialty teas from other regions as well, like Chai, Bubble Tea, and Teh Tarik. I'm sure there are a lot of variations out there.
  6. Skewing a little off topic, but is the discuss button disabled in the wiki page? I was recently editing the Kuuga page and I wanted to discuss the reviews Larz made and how it would fit in the wiki. But when I clicked on discuss, a 404 error occured. I pressume that this was intentionally disabled. If that's the case, then I will just manually create a separate topic for it. I would just like to get verification before I do so. I also made a few minor changes in the main wiki page. Hope you don't mind.
  7. You don't need to tell the guy anything. Why don' t you let the girl tell him herself? Just ask a few questions about the time where the two of them weren't together and let the guy ask the questions. Seeing that this girl wanted the two of you guys to keep it a secret, she is definitely a bad liar. Ask something like, how did you guys communicate when both of you were so far apart? What do you do to ease missing each other? Sooner or later, she has got to give. Maybe drop subtle hints like, "hey, how's the guy you used to hang out with doing?". Or maybe show pictures and then say "hey remember the time when.....". Of course, you'd have to relly on Kat for the contents of the conversation to be able to pull it off. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Always keep in mind, that if you are going to do someting stupid, make sure that you don't get caught and all your bases are covered. That includes not letting anybody find out. Remember, as you grow older, the smaller your world gets.
  8. You see, that's just it. Milk tea is not your regular cup of tea. I know what tea tastes like when you mix milk with it, and milk tea, or bubble tea, does not taste like that. It's taste is actually closer to sweet coffee, but without the bitterness. Of course it depends on what kind of flavor you want for your milk tea. But I guess you are right about the british being creatures of habit. I mean, just the other day, it was the second time that I heard a british company requiring their call centers to speak with a british accent. Though I'm not sure if I should call that habit or just being pompous. Am I correct to pressume that tea in the UK is consumed hot? Milk tea is consumed cold. Do pardon my advocacy for Milk Tea. I really do enjoy the occasional drink with its rich and aromatic flavors, and would like to share my new found habit. Perhaps should chance permit, you might want to partake in trying it.
  9. I think it would work. Nevermind the novelty of the cafe, as long as the beverage and food is good, customer will continue to patronize it. Do you have any tea houses over there? If you do, then I think it is definitely worth a try. Since the UK has tea as a staple drink, I think a tea house would be a welcome market if it isn't already available. Move over starbucks, here come Maid Cafe!
  10. I just had milk tea for lunch. It's vanilla based milk tea. Not sure what other components are included, but it keeps me from falling asleep. I'd prefer this over coffee any time. I'm surprised that it is only available in your Chinatown. Hasn't the milk tea craze penetrated the mass market yet? In Taiwan, milk tea is big. Even their local brand, Quickly, managed to setup shop in our country. Maybe it might be a good business venture over there to put up a milk tea shop. As for hosting images, I personally prefer photobucket. All of the image I post in this board is hosted in photobucket.
  11. What? She kept climbing on top of you and you find that annoying? What a waste of opportunity. Attractive and desperate. The best combination of qualities if you asked me. Well, considering you're personality, I'm not surprised why you didn't take advantage of the situation. You're too much of a nice guy.
  12. Yummy right? i could sip on those mlk tea all day. I think it is still tea but with the mixture of milk more prominent. Is it milk flavored tea or tea flavored milk? Going to Hong Kong eh? If you're an apple fan, you might want to consider getting an Ipad there, since they also happen to be selling them cheaper. Browse through Mongkok for lot's of best deals in shopping surprises. Oh, and don't forget to visit Ocean Park. And remember, bring us lots of pictures. If I remember correctly, you still owe us lot's of pictures from your previous trips. Hihihihi.
  13. Yes you have indeed. Now your in trouble for it. PSYCHED!!! Kidding aside, I revived this thread to seek some opinions, as well as motivation to continue my course with the Kamen Rider wiki. You may have noticed that I have completed the Kamen Rider THE FIRST wiki and started working on THE NEXT. I'm also currently working on updating the Kamen Rider Series page. Do you think the information contained in our current wiki is sufficient in form? Do note I modified the list somewhat indicating some remarks about the show. Feel free to revert the edit since I feel the table has become somewhat unsightly. I've seen the Japanese wiki for the Kamen Rider series and it.... is..... EXTENSIVE! see here: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E4%BB%AE%E9%9D%A2%E3%83%A9%E3%82%A4%E3%83%80%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B7%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%82%BA It contains information like basic concept, Henshin Pose, Rider count, up to casting. Even has the comprehensive media list of Kamen Rider, which makes our list look like cheap info. I plan to bring all this information to our wiki page, but I want to check with you if this is really worth it. I'd also like to get opinions for the pages aesthetic, because frankly, the current page looks ugly and messed up. Because after I'm down with this, the original wikipedia page for the Kamen Rider series will look like its contribution was done by non-fans.
  14. Yes, and I know exactly what that means. Nice one! [emote=onion]thumb[/emote] Score one for the empire!
  15. That's right! Everybody wants a piece of the King. But now, they can only drool cause they can't get a taste of the king anymore. He's off limits now. That doesn't sound so right in English. I swear, that sounded cool, funny and so in-your-face in our native language.
  16. There was previously an anime and manga that deals with food. Chuuka Ichiban, it's about the art of cooking chinese food. I did enjoy the series, but I never found out what happened in the later part of the series, as those parts of the manga were never animated. I think. Also, no idea what Nichijo is. Googling netted a handfull of results, so I'm not sure which one you're talking about.
  17. Wait, so while you're still wooing her, you were flirting with the psychologist on the side? Talk about confidence. Awesome. High Five! Would have been fun to see both relationship work out. It would have been fun watching you juggle 2 girls at the same time.
  18. Good for you old chap! It's about time too. Does she know about yuor exploits here in the board? That means I won't be taking anyone to a strip joint anytime soon then. BK and Kat sitting on a tree. K - I - S - S - I - N - G!!!!
  19. Yeah, ZZ is a joke Tomino played. He wanted it to be a joke series with lots of humor, but all of it didn't add up. I didn't even expect that Judau would get the ZZ so soon. So next up is 0093 for you. The epic final confrontation of Amuro and Char. Thinking about it now, perhaps it is high time I rewatched V Gundam. I literally fell asleep when I watched it so I really didn't know what happened. The only information I have about that series is based on the Gundam games that I played.
  20. I'm not much into starbucks either. Too rich for me. The only time I go to a starbucks is if I was asked to, or have a meeting. You might call me a social coffee drinker, as I don't really drink coffee. But Tea, that's the way for me.
  21. Tapioca pearls are something similar to Jello. Tapioca is a starch extracted from a certain plant native in brazil or the amazon. Checking it out on wiki, I thnk you guys call it milk pudding thickened with arrowroot. And seriously? No starbucks there? I find it weird, since starbucks is so aggressive in opening stores, they open 2 stores just right beside each other. Also, I've checked wikipedia (my best friend for quick information), and apparently, tea was already being served as a beverage in China since 200BC. I think the Tea was imported to the British at around 16th from trade ships coming from China. Well, you can check out wikipedia for the details since I'm not really an expert on tea. Though in China, we don't mix milk with tea, nor do we add sugar. We drink them as is.
  22. Don't worry, mangareaders have them online. That's where I usually read them. Also, I think Madara let loose the bigass statue because he learned that the 8 tails and 9 tails are heading to him. Kinda makes him think that his plan is finally complete, as he has this impression that he can succesfully capture the 8 and 9 tails.
  23. Irish Alzheimers Murphy showed up at Mass one Sunday and the priest almost fell down when he saw him. He'd never been to church in his life. After Mass, the priest caught up with him and said, "Murphy, I am so glad ya decided to come to Mass. What made ya come?" Murphy said, "I got to be honest with you Father, a while back, I misplaced me hat and I really, really love that hat. I know that McGlynn had a hat just like mine and I knew he came to church every Sunday. I also knew that he had to take off his hat during Mass and figured he would leave it in the back of church. So, I was going to leave after Communion and steal McGlynn's hat." The priest said, "Well, Murphy, I notice that ya didn't steal McGlynn's hat. What changed your mind?" Murphy replied, "Well, after I heard your sermon on the 10 Commandments, I decided that I didn't need to steal McGlynn's hat after all." With a tear in his eye the priest gave Murphy a big smile and said; "After I talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' ya decided you would rather do without your hat than burn in Hell?" Murphy slowly shook his head. "No, Father, after ya talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' I remembered where I left me hat."
  24. A wife asked her husband to describe her.... He said, "You're A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K." She said, "What does that mean?" He said, "Adorable, Beuatiful, Cute, Delightful, Elegant, Foxy, Gorgeous, Hot" She said, "Oh that's so lovely. what about I, J, K?" He said, "---I'm Just Kidding!!!" ...nobody knows if this man is still alive!!
  25. I'm not sure if you'd consider this as "Tea", but recently I've been having cravings for Milk Tea. it's tea infused with flavored milk, more commonly known as Bubble Tea. This is usually a cold mixture with tapioca pearls. But I' don't like the tapioca, and instead opt for the pudding. Several stores over here are offering a variety of tea drinks, and it's actually putting pressure over Starbucks. Starbucks was forced to offer their frap at 50% off from lunch to 2PM, which I think was due to the appearance of tea bars. Unless of course this was a global thing. I said this because my office mates used to go to Starbucks after lunch. Now, they all go have Milk Tea instead of Starbucks.
