History of Super Sentai
Oh, by the way, Marvel was not only involved in Spiderman sentai, but they also collaborated with Toei in Battle Fever J, Denjiman, and Sun Vulcan. A deal marvel made which allowed them the rights to publish Danguard Ace and Combatller V in comics. Oh, now I understand why Marvel has those giant robots comic decades back. You learn something new everyday. And since the first wave will feature gekiranger, here is an outline lifted from the japanese wiki. Do note that I have never seen Gekiranger so some verification may be needed for the terms: Similar to the other super sentai series, the program is a group hero with each individual wearing different colored suits fighting against and evil organization. The series' basic episode format follows the appearance of a new monster after one or two chapters, the hero defeats it and the enlarged monster fights with a giant robot. It is the 11th timeslot being broadcasted every Sunday, and the motif is put on as Chinese Martial Arts and animals. The theme is a fictitious aerial kempo called [Juuken (beast fist)], and breaking away from the past features 2 rival schools, depicting the growth of the fist warriors of both schools. The enemy side is given equal weight as that of the sentai side, with the work aiming to have roman styled drama of story development. At the start the sentai is comprised of 3 members, and additional members are added in the middle of the series completing the 5 man sentai. The sentai members are from the School of Justice [Fierce Beast Fist Beast Arts (Gekijuuken Bisuto Atsu)] belonging to the sports maker [scratch], while the enemy side is the evil school [Front Beast Fist Akugada (Rinjuuken Akugada)] controlled by the evil organization [Rinjuden]. The story is about the Gekirangers, trying to return the beast fist to one school. Concerning the main cast of the 5 man sentai as well as the 3 man enemy, an annual audition for young actors is held to select the 8 characters. Having a story development that has the feel of [Destiny of the past], this is the first time that they did not adopt the tracksuits belt sentai suit, with Kung Fu influences appearaing every where, with the action scenes using real battles, and giant battles being mainly depicted using melee battle. also during the Giant battles, the appearing cast uses real conditions of professional wrestling like hook-up to produce the scenes. The main force of the toy development was the animal motif which imitates the form of the beasts, using design from sports equipment. Different from the recent succeeding new forms due to combinations of different units, with the 3 combining units as the basic unit, additional parts make up the 4th unit selecting replacements for [converting parts type] to do battle. With many young person under the production of chief producer Tsukada Hideaki, he uses the concept of [a Shonen Manga of a Kung Fu Movie], even though they are using various experiments, ratings as well as sales were not as good, especially for Bandai's toy sales which were declining compared to recent years.

The Avengers
I just can't help but think Robin Scherbatsky every time I look at Colbie Smudgers. I think it's too much How I met your mother for me. But cool. I hope we get to feast our eyes on some more eye candy soon. Though I have a feeling that the cast are deliberately leaking false information to protect the story of the Avengers.

History of Super Sentai
"Toku Legends.... This is Legendary!" -has a nice to ring it right? I have absolutely no taste in music so take my suggestions with a grain of salt. I think the OP song should be anything upbeat. Jam Project is a good choice. Maybe you guys can also look into Giuseppe Tartini's Violin Sonata in G minor or more popularly know as The Devils Thrill. As for the ED song, I think we can use something classical, like Chopin's Nocturne in C sharp Minor or anything slow or mellow. Something like Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata,This is in contrast to the Opening's upbeat song. Or even the song which is played in Castlevania SOTN, the BGM while you are in the Library. Forgot the name of the song. As a far fetch idea, maybe someone who is very familiar with musical instruments can play Sentai OP of Gekiranger or the featured sentai using customized arrangement. At least this will have a right feel and perfectly fits our intention of featuring Gekiranger. No sense in overshadowing the featured series by having an OP song from another genre that would blow you away. Maybe we can search youtube for cover songs. I can play this with my piano, but unfortunately my piano is out of tune.

History of Super Sentai
Here are some more variations on the name that I kept playing with: Histoku Legends - Amalgamation of History and Toku. It can also be read as 'His' Toku. Toku Legendary - Since the word legend itself signifies history. Also a short history you guys might want to consider to include: Super Sentai is indeed about a group with a giant Robot. Previously, [battle Fiver J] was counted as the first Super Sentai, but in the 10th anniversary of the series, [Goranger] and [Jak Q] was also included, officially making Goranger as the first Super Sentai.. In 1975, Ishinomori Shoutarou authored Goranger with a total of 84 episodes. In 1977, Jak Q was aired following Goranger. Due to low ratings, was discontinued. In 1978, the series had a hiatus. during this time, the same staff created a series that is not a sentai, which was Spiderman, with the robot toy Leopoldon gaining success in toy sales. in 1979 the following year, Battle Fiver J was aired, and hereafter a 1 series per year was observed. In 1981, Sunbalkan aired. It was during this time that the word "Sentai" was used. In the early years, children are already familiar with Kamen Rider. They wanted to create a new series that would feature [5 kamen riders appearing together]. But the idea was not initially realized. During the net change in programming in 1975, when the station was changed from NET Television to TBS, they needed a new series. The idea of the 5 kamen rider was revived, a program that features a team with 5 heroes resulted in Goranger. Aside from the influence of the Kabuki play Shiranami Gonin Otoko which depicts 5 heroes, producers at Toei sees [3 as too little, 4 as a bad omen and 7 as too many]. They suited the actors in colorful suits and became popular with children, thus creating a new genre of [Group Hero]. Goranger was broadcast for 2 years and was a hit. However, the following series [Jak Q] was a failure and was dropped after 9 months. In 1978, Toei collaborated with the Marvel Comics Group to produce [spiderman]. The idea of a life-sized hero controlling a giant robot was popular, and resulted in the giant robot's [Leopoldon] toy industry to flourish. As a result, [battle Fiver J] which inherits the formula of [Group Hero] + [Giant Robot] was born. This production was another hit, and since then, the production has been continues without any suspension, using the pace of 1 series a year.

The Avengers
I don't know. Since the gauntlet was shown prior to the Thor movie, I think they intended it to be used in the Thor Movie. This could be one of the treasures in Odin's treasure room, or an easter egg in the Thor Movie. Perhaps it is a ploy from Marvel to mislead the fans from the true story of the Avengers movie. We have nine more months to speculate before we actually find out. Besides, the Gauntlet looks more Asgardian than cosmic. And even if the Infinity Gauntlet were true with Thanos in it, I definitely hope that they will depict the scene were Cap was the last man standing facing off against Thanos. All we've ever seen of the Avengers movie are short clips and action scenes. So we still have no idea what the movie will be about.

Wheres the footage? Didn't anyone have a camera to get a shot at the footage?

Historical Legend! Nuff said.

The Avengers
I think it would still work if they include Pym, but not as his super hero alter ego. Pym was better known for his scientific achievements than his heroic exploits. So the skrulls angle seems to be true. I just wonder who's going to wield the infinity gauntlet. Most likely Loki, and probably less powerful than its comics counterpart.

The Avengers
WHAT!?!?!?! CAP GOT SHOT!!! That's heresy! How in the world would the world's greatest fighter get shot point blank during a fist fight? Also, both of them looks a lot thinner than they did in their respective movies.
-
The Avengers
Avengers? Can't wait! Though I've heard rumors that there would be skrulls in it. I can't dispel this rumor because I saw marvel showcasing the Infinity Gauntlet in their road show. So the Avengers movie is going cosmic? I wonder how they're gonna pull that off?

History of Super Sentai
Oh, and here's a tiny tidbit for my first contribution to the research. Goranger was the first Sentai group that composed of 5 individuals battling villains. Spiderman was the first hero to ever control a giant robot. They combined the concepts of the two to create Denjiman, which is the first incarnation of the current giant robot sentai trend.

History of Super Sentai
Question, how will the history of sentai be presented if the focus will only be on one single title? I'm sure there would be a lot of details missed out. If you guys like, I could first put here the history of the sentai as listed in the japanese wiki.

Bleach Anime
So is Ichigo the uber shinigami now, with all that power flowing into him? Hard to believe that some of them actually agreed to come to Ichigo's aid. Then again, Ichigo beat the crap out of everyone of them. Well, almost all of them. I still fail to understand how you would come to respect a person who beat the crap out of you. Then again, after Ichigo beat his current enemy, will he still be able to regain what was lost to him? If he will, then won't this make him the uber, uber shinigami? Or will he be able to return those that he borrowed? In case you were wondering what I'm talking about, I'm talking about the latest chapter of the manga. I wrote this in as much as a vague manner that won't need any spoiler tags, but still be understood by updated readers.

Naruto
Read the latest chapter and it feels good to finally have another ace together with the good guys. You'd think that all this time, he was going easy on everyone he was facing in the past.

History of Super Sentai
I have limited knowledge of Sentai as well as seen only a limited amount of series in the super sentai franchise, but if you guys need a researcher, my door is always open. The Japanese wiki alone would be a huge resource for this. And what do you know, Ishinomori Shoutarou, aside from being the original creator of Kamen Rider, was also the originator of the Sentai franchise with his first sentai Goranger.

Even though this is not considered as an official music video, technically this is a music video. I'm talking about the remix of three songs into one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMv0l7AQZzs

Afraid of Death?
There are countless ways that death is represented. Some see this as the end of all, while others see this as a beginning of a another chapter. No matter how we interpret this, it all means that it is the cessation of our current existence. Normally, people fear death because they don't understand it. And fear is the most common expression towards anything that people do not understand. I always believe that when it's your time, it's your time.

God and the Big Bang
Aha. I spotted two topics in your post that I would like to discuss. Topic 1. With what you said about evolution, I believe that change is inborn in all living organisms, which is hard-coded into their DNA. However, in order to jumpstart this DNA, a catalyst had to be made. That is where environment kicks in and the ability of the organism to adapt. I believe that evolution is not a trait of an organism, but as a result from the combination of the ability to adapt and environmental factors present. Topic 2. God as a beginning. Now, asking what was before God, we would be asking where God came from. In terms of religious thinking, we would simply say that he is all powerful and he simply exists before everything else, a being who was everything before everything else. But scientific curiosity refuse to accept this logic. Using creative analogy and logic, we would come to the conclusion of what we have just discussed, which puts God as the last survivor of the old universe. My theory on this is that there is no such thing as the ultimate beginning. If time can be viewed as a spiral line, then the exact beginning of time would be the exact end of time, forming a constant loop which substantiate the universe. The moebius strip theory. If the black hole can be considered as a port to the negative zone, then the negative zone is the parallel of our universe in the next cycle of the universe. Speaking heretically, God didn't create man, but man created God. Man sees himself as a weak being and needs to affirm their own existence by creating a higher power that they can look upon to strengthen themselves. They attribute unexplainable phenomenon as the work of God, simply to satisfy the need for explanation. Even before the dawn of time, a single monolith is considered as a deity by the early ancestors of man.

Martial Arts
Oh, bone conditioning. So that's what it's called. I've been hitting concrete for years and my knuckles have grown to be quite hard and numb. Hitting concrete isn't as painful as it used to be when I first started. Was also doing the same thing with my forehead, but stopped immediately when I learned that its not good for your head.

God and the Big Bang
Well, here's my take on the bigbang and God. To put is simply, God just snapped his fingers and the Bigbang happened. Like how Ryuki explained, God didn't need time to exists. To further dwell into the details, I believe that the there was a catalyst to the Big Bang. Before the Big Bang, there was the great void. But the void must have come from somewhere. This might possibly be the effect of an alternate universe imploding. Meaning, that old universe was collapsing leaving nothing but the void, that all atoms imploded into one single particle, which was the single atom needed for the Big Bang to happen. In that last universe, life forms have evolved into the ultimate higher being. The last survivor of this old universe has their own physiology so advance that they would be able to survive the destruction of the universe. With the infinite wisdom that they have acquired through the countless eons of evolution, they have merged into one single being. Learning of the impending destruction to their own universe, since they are unable to save it, they deemed that it would be appropriate to use the energy from the destruction of the old universe, channel it into one single atom and create a new universe anew. They knew that creating this process would take another eon to fully evolve into a new universe, thus they put into place restrictions to control the evolution of the young universe, which we call today the law of physics. In order to create a new race to propagate and evolve, they also created self evolving organisms that would one day gain sentience and take on the responsibilities of becoming the caretakers of the new universe. These evolved being have many names, but they are commonly referred to as gods by their creations. Okay, that last paragraph was something I made up, but it still has the same principle behind the cause of the big bang which I believe in.

Finally, after months of anticipation, the Straw Hats Pirates is on the counterattack! Odds are 10,000 vs 10, good odds for the Straw Hats. They're like the 300, only they are 10.

Japanese Word of the Week
Ok, I think I'll just re-translate everything instead of using the ones you posted. Reading over the translated text takes longer. It's impossible to arrange this on a word per word basis due to different grammar styles, but I did arrange it to match it by line, hence the fragmented sentences. Are you sure you want to rely on babel fish? Just looking at the translation, I can say even without looking at the original text that it's not accurate. Would you like me to make some tweaks to it?
