Well, my brother still isn't home. He finally got the jack he needed to change on to the spare, and the spare went flat, so he's with his father now to get the tire changed again.- 34 replies

He had a spare, but he had no jack, so he had to call my father. He's still no home yet, so I don't know what's going on there as of now.- 34 replies

All that I know is that it's raining here right now, and there's bad storms forecasted for AL and MS today. My day itself has been OK, I guess. I got a phone call earlier from my brother that he got a flat tire on the Jeep because he ran over, of all things, a pair of scissors in Walmart's parking lot. I posted a thread about femininity vs masculinity in Science and Philosophy, and mentioned a few things about myself and my views on the subject. Other than that, I haven't done too much yet today aside from help my brother with grandma's breakfast and stuff.- 34 replies

Actually, not for me. It was kinda odd and scary, because I felt totally alone and when I had this dream, I'd become kinda paranoid about something happening to my home. And it was just odd that I even had that dream. Unless really bad weather is forecast, I'm usually not afraid of weather.

I've always wondered about femininity and masculinity, and the standards that have been set, and why I don't think that they work. Take me, for example. I'm into cars, history, weapons, weather, traditional guy stuff. Yet I like to write, be creative, and if I had a girlfriend, I'd go shopping with her and do her hair and nails. That's the feminine stuff I'm into, and I also like to cook. I really think that the broad standards of femininity and masculinity are kinda crap and don't make a lot of sense. What works for one person probably won't work for another of the same gender or anything like that. Everyone's different. Personally, I like women who are kinda feminine, but have a tomboyish edge to them. I see that as plenty feminine. I see myself as plenty masculine, though I'm into some girly stuff and that's one of the reasons I'd like to have a girlfriend. I don't think that we can just put people into groups and define them by any trait, really, for anything as it relates to personality traits. That includes gender and having a feminine or masculine personality. It's just a waste of time and that's why I'm basically like "who cares?!" So, feel free to discuss your views on this subject

In light of the severe weather that's going on right now, I used to have a recurring dream about waking up with no roof or upper bunk over my bed, and just staring into a dark, cold, stormy sky. At least I haven't had that dream in a while. Just extremely bizarre and surreal.

Fort Smith should be a lot better off than yesterday. Thunderstorms are still forecast, but they're of the normal type like what I'll be having today. The really bad severe thread is now in AL and MS. Still too bad about your hometown, though. The rain won't help with recovery efforts. At least you, your family and friends are safe. But it is that time of year, sadly.
-
I heard about this on the Weather Channel last night. You have family and friends there, and are they safe as far as you know? Is the area you're at under threat today? The threat zone moved a bit east today, but the same stuff is forecasted. I hope that you and your loved ones are OK
-
Hi everyone. I hope that everyone is staying safe from the severe weather where it is or forecasted. I don't have many plans for today aside from looking up some stuff and watching some videos later today. I have plans on working on some fan fic tonight and keeping an eye on the weather in the regions where it's going to get pretty nasty based on what I've heard. Stay safe everyone. I'll be back later

Weather: how is it in your area, etc, etc...

Keep an eye out in the areas I mentioned above tomorrow, too. There's already extensive damage in parts of KS and AR tonight, and areas near there will get hammered tomorrow sadly. -
The Pontiac's the best car my brother ever owned, and aside from my father wanting to re-paint it, it was in good shape until the engine problems happened. We don't even drive it in winter out of fear of it getting run into. Oddly, we have a Geo Metro and a Ford Bronco that are used around the house, and they're as good as, if not better, than the cars we have now, but they're used as utility vehicles and the like. They'd have been good cars if not for that stuff.

What the hell LOL! Stuff we wonder about...
Chernaudi replied to Chernaudi's topic in General 'whatever'.
Sorry if I caused offense, but I'm talking more about people who do stuff like that intentionally, seemingly for no logical reason at all. They're not disabled, and (hopefully) have all their faculties about them. But people all each have their own idiosyncrasies, and I have plenty. Kinda reminds me of a Dutch quote that goes along the lines of "be yourself, that's strange enough". Sums up one of the more positive things about the human race as a whole. But I'm talking about stuff that people or animals do that defy logic. Such as for a lighter example, we have a cat that attacks water! When it comes out of the faucet, this cat swats at it, like it's trying to kill it LOL. And now here's one that's relevant to what's going on here in the US right now and one that can be dangerous, too, if people don't take the right precautions. Since severe weather is a big thing that's going on in my country right now, what about storm chasers? I understand the science part of it--trying to understand storms and how they work, and they provide useful early warning information as well--but it's the people who do it for the thrill. I sort of don't understand that, though, to be fair, I'm not a major thrill seeker. I guess that it's no different than race drivers, I guess. Though, from my POV, they do things in vehicles designed with accidents and collisions in mind. There's only a handful of specially armored and equipped vehicles developed for storm chasing. -

My father's trying to drive the Pontiac to his house so he can work on it. My mother is following him in the Ranger. The oil pressure would jump back and forth between 25lbs to pegging the gauge. I fear he might be towing the Pontiac back to his house with the Ranger at some point. The way he described it, the bypass valve is just little piston and spring check valve, and somehow, it's getting jammed open, because it's only supposed to open past a certain amount of pressure. Even if he blows it up, it might not be a huge loss, because he was already thinking of changing the engine in it at some point anyways. He didn't get the head gasket issue fixed before he wanted to give it back, and it might be easier to change the engine than do all of that stuff.

Hi everyone. Caught the NASCAR race last night and now I'm waiting for my parents to come out and visit. I also also still have pork chops left over from last night that I'll be making for dinner tonight at some point. Here's the newest, and very high quality, video of the Le Mans spec Audi R18 at Monza: I have plans on working on fan fic and stuff later on, and the past few days have been pretty good for me. I'll be back later

I'd expect a young woman to dress like that (Natsuki wore a similar outfit in her most recent appearance in the manga), but here, that just looks so creepily out of place. No offense intended. -
I can't really stay up much longer, so I'll be calling a night soon. I did get some fan fic work done, not as much as I wanted to, but after being up for over 16 hours, it was more than I expected to do. I'll be back later

Chernaudi replied to Chernaudi's topic in General 'whatever'.
If you live in the south central US, there's a risk of severe weather over the next couple of days, so be careful. -
Hi everyone. Just got done washing dishes not too long ago. I also watched the NASCAR race, and as in the shoutbox, I hinted that it was confrontation central. There were finger pointing, drivers wrecking each other on the last lap, cars nearly burned to the ground because of tire problems. The race winner promptly destroyed his rear tires during a burnout, and there was a fist fight in the garage area. Kinda entertaining, though, as I also posted in the shoutbox, I do wonder what the likes of Shizu and Agito, or other Guyver characters, would make of it. I do plan on working on fan fic shortly after I get done with looking up some stuff. I'll be back later

The flip-flop stuff has always struck me as odd. Women have to get cold like men do. I don't tolerate the cold or hot very well. And as I said, I have no issue at all with it indoors or in warm weather, for reasons I've hinted at, mostly because I see that stuff as a bit of a feminine thing. But IMO it makes no sense to do that in the dead of winter unless a woman wears them indoors. For example, the sandals that I've seen Shizu wear in Guyver a couple of times. She wears them when it seems warm out, though in the Nov 2012 issue of Guyver, I do have to question the temperature, since Agito was wearing a jacket and Shizu herself was wearing a robe-like device. What time of year was depicted. It wasn't the middle of winter, granted, but it couldn't have been that warm it seems. But then again, this whole thing is just what I think about it. And it seems that women do that stuff more than men do. -
