Yes, that's true. Though I wonder, I remember that part of the reason lost numbers are not trusted was precisely because they were all weakened in that link to zoalords to some degree. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. Anyone can confirm or deny this so we can be clear about it in the future?

how strong are the Zoanoid, hyper Zoanoid, zoalord, and Guyvers
V Guyver replied to alkanfel009's topic in Guyver
Interesting, didn't know there had existed spanish translations. If I were a bit more fluent with my native Portuguese I might of done some translating myself. As for the subject matter. Zoanoid types are all specialized, but if you want to classify them there is the basic difference in how many can be produced, and how many advanced powers can be given to a a zoanoid. basic Zoanoids are variable in that they are common and easier to mass produce. Hypers are harder to produce, and need a better genetic human compatible template. They tend to have superior abilities are more weapons compared to more common zoanoids in more than one field. Lost numbers are failures in that they cannot be reproduced or mass produced, but usually have unique abilities, but end up as mere experiments and are not trusted due to some weakening of telepathic control from Zoalords. Some specialized units like Enzyme are a bit trickier to define as they are outside the the other classifications and recent creations. -
Definately. If any of the zoanoids were depicted in real life, and accurate to size, we'd be freaked out, but Enzyme I and Enzyme II are probably some of the creepiest looking ones. Hell... I had a nightmare of one chasing me around with that acid leaking out of it's mouth...

So back to Malmot? Did any of the data files tell us what type he was supposed to be. Combat, reconnaissance, maybe something other?

I really enjoyed the music in the OVA series and the 2005 anime. The OVA series had a more fitting music, but I can't see the 2005 as simply a beautiful work of art, if a little out of place at times. As for Guyot, favorite line. "Your time is up Richard Guyot! Prepare to die." -Agito "What the HELL?!" -Guyot

yup, do remember that. also started to recall that Sho was chasing that truck his dad was stuck in.

I use AdBlock extension on chrome. Helps me avoid the ads.

Maybe I'm not viewing this stuff correctly. From the way everything is edited, it always looked like distance wasn't too big of an issue. Maybe my perceptions are off.

Sorry for the double post, but felt it necessary. I gave this some thought, and realized, that with such an important rare artifacts as the G Units, no zoalord would waste time to search it out. Provided they were there, and likely Barcus was considering that was his personal research facility. Never once have we've seen a true zoalord have trouble contacting his own subordinates without it being range limited, a lost unit, or another zoalord blocking his telepathy. Maybe zoalords are not in constant contact, but if they need be found, it would be a simple thing to reach out to them. It's as if Zoalords have some method to identify the brain waves... though that rings the question on how the telepathy mechanics work. But so far all this has led me to think that it's likely a processing part or as Yuki suggest, a distance issue. The only other theory I can come up with is that perhaps he might of been classified as a lost number had his processing been finished.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Reboot

Yes, I can certainly see that happening. After so many years it isn't surprising. Did not mean to provoke any debate, just seemed out of character from what I've seen over the years. -
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Reboot

Jason Frank wanting to leave? I really doubt that. Any of the behind the scenes video's show him pretty damn stoked about being the new popular character. He relished in it, used to go around saying "green ranger" repeatedly, obviously had fun there. Also remember David Yost looking at him as if burning a hole into the back of his head. A shame seeing them apparently not getting along since I liked those two the most out of the cast. Billy was an awesome nerd that I wanted to be, and Jason the cool hero that I would of liked to aspire to. Anyway's this possible reboot... I'd know what to do with it for the most part if I was a director, keep it faithful to the original source material and expand on it with the quality known in hollywood. In the hands of someone else who wasn't a fan or respects fans... so be damned. -
Yes, in the OVA Guyot belittled all of Genzo's work (very good at making common Zoanoids, but fell behind Hyper Zoanoid development.) I had no idea about the distance... wait at that distance, how does Sho and Tetsuro manage to walk there and back in the same afternoon? Also, I recall only a day between the murder at the start by Malmot, up till him going near that lake and getting blown up. I suppose it's nitpicking, but wonder if the Mangaka actually gave thought to the distances.

Even by OVa standards in the 80's, Guyver had a very small budget. I remember Angel Cop ova having a huge quality control and consistency thanks to it's budget and directors. Ironically enough, that had way less impact in our culture than Guyver has.

Motion detection still seems plausible. If it's high powered Free electron laser, then it would make sense that is has a range of frequencies that can detect movement and certain chemicals. It might sound redundant to have a second sensor type. But redundancy is an incredible asset for most species, especially humans who have 6 sensor types built in to us in the form of balance, sight, hearing, taste, feeling, smelling.

Doubtful, barcus was already in the mountain area, and under complete control of zoanoids in that area, as well as in town. While in the mountain highway and outskirts of town, he was still in range. So this led me to think that part of the process actually involved bringing out vulnerability to telepathy... then again, he could actually be a experiment that might of been classified as a lost number. Not enough information to make any of this solid though.

The only known details in the manga are that he had had been forced into conversion by cronos, and that Agito later manipulated (and lied to him about his chances of survival and becoming normal again) him to into stealing the units before his eventual death. Considering the local area, he might of been one of the entire towns worth of people who had been converted. Either that or another captured witness by cronos for experimentation. He also traveled as a hitchhiker/drifter after his escape. The 2005 anime expanded it into a story about him trying to reunite with his family. I he had a wife and child, and it was his biggest motivation.

I don't think it was just processing for perfection. They may of had the processing in stages to help control the subjects (Before the mind control was implemented, seemed he was free while not complete), there might also be a time frame to go into stages because the body might not handle the processing. Whichever the case, everything Chronos did was likely on purpose and meant to serve as insurance. malmat only escaped because of Agito, and I doubt he Malmot escaped so effectively without Agito doing his usual sabotage at Max Pharmaceuticals.

Also, the OVA's seemed to have issues with production. Primarily it's budget sank severely in the latter half, and there is little consistency with the production staff credits through the entire thing. Example, the animation director who worked on the Enzyme Episode with it's crazy brutal animation did only that single episode, and no more.

There was art in past data files showing what Malmot was supposed to look like. A lot more hair on his body, especially the face. I don't have a copy, anyone else do? Anyways, he's body was breaking down, and his sickly appearance compared to other zoanoids suggest so. Even in human form, he looked fairly weak, not just dirty.

Music shares basics with bird calls. Beethoven's music was inspired by his pet bird. His bird was a canary if I'm not mistaken, when their chirps are played in slow motion, it sounds like his 9th Symphony. Also, I've made bird go bonkers in pet stores, causing them all to chirp and jump around cages. Usually starts off with one bird, but one I get on or 2 excited enough with my whistling, they eventually start bellowing out beautiful chirps, the rest of the stores birds follow, doesn't seem to matter the species or type. Also pulled off the same effect using a plastic bag, they seem to respond to a specific note or audio level the most.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Reboot
V Guyver replied to odin's topic in Japanese Entertainment
Lionsgate is a low budget studio, but they really put effort into their movies. So expect to see a movie with average special effects, bad acting, but great atmosphere. They also tend to actually stick to the source material, but that depends on the director. -
Compound eyes are fantastic in awareness. They can catch the speed of objects like no other object, and they have a much bigger view radius, the more numbers of visual cells, the better. The flaw with them is that they tend to have everything blurred, and their color range is more limited than humans, but with better contrast. Fascinating feature in a zoanoid along with multiple lense eyes.

Didn't they have the Enzyme II and III bio's translated already for reference?
-
That's correct. All of the lost numbers were just failures in reproducing the results, they don't have reduced life spans. Life spans for test type's without completed processing is a few days, but if they had stayed around for the full processing, they could live on until cronos decided to dispose them. Prototype Zoalords less then a few years because their bodies were never truly stable with a fake crystal. On the other hand, they aren't built to dissolve like other Zoanoids, they can be revived in some circumstances. The only other types that die any faster are any rushly processed zoanoids. Those die fast and dissolved because they were rushed jobs, like the Enzyme II's that fought Agito and Murakami, or the Enzyme III's that fought Aptom, Sho, and Agito. They were given only 1 processing and then sent out. I believe Zoanoids are supposed to be processed at least 3 times before they are stable. An example would be Sho's dad. Even if Sho didn't kill him, he would of died because he wasn't finished with his processing treatments.

In aptom's case, Barcus was meddling with his DNA for various reasons, he hoped to enhance his duplication/imitation powers for the sake of science and Zoanoid development. What Barcus didn't expect was a weakening of the telepathic links to the point that Aptom was completely free. If Aptom had not gained that advantage, he would of probably of continued to serve as Barcus servant and test subject.
