  1. Dead Zone, Tree of Might and Fusion Reborn are great!!! I think I enjoyed Bardock when I watched it but it's been so long since I saw it. Waferdanos, I was also pretty hot on the Super Saiyan God design, I loved the slimmed down look they gave Goku, so I do hope it shows up in this next film
  2. I think it's just fanart from an obscure website
  3. From one of the websites posted on the previous page: http://www.taghobby.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/max141105.jpg Does the alternate chest part have narrower pecs or is that just me? Interesting to say the least, the BFC didn't have anything like this!
  4. While it is nice that DBZ is still alive and kicking, I am skeptical towards how good this movie will be. I thought BoG was pretty bad - really awkwardly paced and a bit silly really. But to be honest this is what a lot of DBZ films suffer from. I tend to just stick to loving the tv series. Which reminds me that I'm a few weeks behind Kai. I am really interested to see who this person is that someone wants to revive though and whether it's someone from the tv series.
  5. Very nice double page spread and scenario in this chapter with the building under construction . This chase would be incredible to see animated.
  6. Are Agito and Shizu a couple? I don't think that's ever been established. I doubt Agito sees her like that. Agito cares for her I'm sure, but Shizu looks at Agito more as a master and Agito to Shizu as a battle-reliable partner
  7. Something that bothers me about this figure that was also a problem with the BFC- is that extra bit under the Megasmasher plates necessary? I know it gives the illusion that also the top two abs are moving along with the rest of the upper torso, but could they simply have just left that extra bit out? Have it articulate right beneath the smasher? I remember right around the time the BFC line was in full swing a lot of people were making fan art of Guyver 1 using the BFC model as a reference and erroneously gave him another set of "half-abs". I tried to photoshop it out and then it just makes the top two abs look way too long. I wonder why they couldn't either bring the megasmasher plates down/make them larger, or fix the proportions of the abs.
  8. I assume it was my comment about that interesting image you posted of Sean and Sho in the other thread that sparked you to ask this? What I mean by "looks like Takaya's style" is the line quality, the amount of subtelty used in the cross hatching to suggest hape/form (see: Guyver's shoulder pads), the angles of all the features of the Guyver's helmet, the intensity/suggestion of tendrils under the Guyver armour, the toning of shiny orb-like objects, the proportions (!! this is a big one)... Of course, Takaya's human characters are also done in a very unique, identifiable way. It's definitely changed in the last 30 years if you look back at his earlier works, but proportions play a big part in identifying this aspect of his work. Yuki hit the nail on the head about the concise and clear nature of his drawn action. Towards the end of my time spent reading Naruto, I remember barely being able to tell what was going on in the fights. Takaya's fights may be quite short and contain few actions by either adversary, but at least you will always know what the other is doing/has done.
  9. Wow, that's awesome. Looks like Takaya's art. Where were you browsing lost unit?
  10. I adore elephants. I may or may not post more pictures of elephants. I've got a cat too.
  11. Well the CM might be able to keep the brain alive for a bit after a beheading, but the fact that it's been separated from the boosting organism on the back makes me wonder how it would be able to call the guyver from the boost dimension. Unless it can communicate with that organism telepathically, it's hard to see how the guyver would be able to save the host and itself.
  12. Righto! Also I like your character descriptions for various characters - Agito Makashima. We DONT LIKE HIM. I AGREE!
  13. What's the unit of measurement for the strength chart? And are figures present in the data files or is this based on average human strength and then the knowledge that certain Zoanoids' strength = a certain number of humans' strength?
  14. I don't think they would ever need to discontinue use of it. It had a very casual use to the Creators, wearing it for everyday tasks and such. I don't see what they could possibly upgrade about it since they seemed like a group of people who didn't get their hands dirty themselves. If they needed to do something that the current state of the Unit didn't allow, they would probably engineer a creature to do that work for them. I'm beginning to think that maybe Apollon isn't actually an Advent, but a more advanced creation of theirs sent to do some wet work. Over the million of years since visiting Earth, they created another Alkanphel with more advanced zoacrystal technology. Or perhaps that armour is the source of his power. I think the Advents probably pushed the Guyver unit as far as it needed to go. In regards to improving it to allow bio-boosted humans to be controlled, I would say that problem is more on the human end of things. Not a problem with the unit itself.
  15. did we have a count thread on the GB? This is eerily familiar
  16. Ah, the Gigantic shows up again eh. This is good. Finally things are picking up a bit. I don't see Sho and Apollon fighting just yet, Sho will chase him around for a bit longer while Apollon chases Guyot. I'm not really sure that Sho has much of a chance against him anyway. I'm finding the dynamic of the situation here very interesting. Obviously we don't know Apollon's intentions yet, but I'm thinking he could possibly be working to achieve something in Sho's favour. And well, even though we don't know what Guyot is quite up, it's probably nothing good for Sho and the gang anyway so Apollon's taking care of Guyot might still help indirectly. Nothing that Apollon has done so far suggests he is going to act hostile towards Sho any time soon.
  17. Sigh, I don't have a whole lot of faith in this. I wish they would just lay it to rest. T3 was already bad, but at least SCC made up for it by replacing it in the timeline and being a pretty good series. I will always consider the SCC storyline as the direction the timeline took. I never watched Salvation (and never plan to) because apparently it was awful and I really don't want to see the franchise tarnished. I can't find any sources on what the plot will be about but Simmons is saying it's a "re-imagining"? Whatever that means. Maybe seeing Arnie in action as a Terminator again will make it worth watching, but I really feel like the first two films were so perfect it's a shame where the series has gone. I'd rather they just renewed SCC for a third season because that was a brutal ending to leave the watchers with.
  18. I got photos of this book. Can't remember who uploaded them, but it was someone on this forum. Really good book. Guyver OOC.zip
  19. You'd probably wanna get some textured brushes. Thing with colouring Guyver manga is that a lot of shading is done for you. Takaya uses lots of dots and screens and halftones to shade it while it's black and white. You won't get that sort of similar effect with just using the brush normally and blending on Photoshop. http://screentones.deviantart.com/art/Dots-Screens-Pack-150468959 This is a texture pack you can install in Photoshop. From there, you can use it and apply it to line art to create a (sort of) similar effect. Install the texture pack, and when you want to use it, create a new layer where your SHADING will exist. Right click > Blending Options > Pattern Overlay. You may have to load the texture yourself. If so, click on the pattern thumbnail and a window will come up with a bunch of patterns. Click on the little cog wheel to bring up another menu where you can load patterns yourself. Set the Blend mode to MULTIPLY. Paint shading in and the pattern will appear over it wherever you paint If you lock transparent pixels (click the little checker board on the layers panel) then you can go in with a darker colour within the painted shading to create varying levels of light. You can also go in with a colour closer to your base colour as well for lighter bits. This gives you a very basic way to achieve a somewhat similar effect, but really the sort of look you are going for is achieved in the drawing stage
  20. Haven't seen any creative work from you in a while Ryuki, good to see. You seem to have a really good understanding of colour as well as its application. I feel like there's a good balance going on. Did you study colour theory at any point?
  21. You're the same shade from several years back I assume? That was also a regular on mangahelpers cleaning Naruto chapter covers (That was what, 5 years ago now? How depressing) Good to see you again! And good work on that colour. Lost Unit, you're doing a great job with these redrawings as well! They remind me a lot of what another guy was doing with the Advocacy scans - he was releasing "HQ" versions where he sorted out the levels and redrew bits that were messed up by the seams. He only did volumes 12 and 15 before disappearing off the face of the earth but he did quite a good job (though not quite as good as you I will admit). I made sure to keep those versions of the books.
  22. Welcome back man! Just curious though, what's the deal with volume 9? I had a flip through and it actually looks a lot better than I remembered last I checked (same with volume 8 - wow, where the heck did those scans come from??)
  23. Bloody hell this is a blast from the past. I'll have to sit down and do a whole read-through of it now that it's complete. I was always a bit apprehensive about starting to read it because I knew it would end before it was meant to.
  24. I wonder if Sho can alter how he uses the control medal to accept outside interference/force? That could explain how they are able to share and exchange power.
  25. I think Murakami's batch of proto Zoalords were either purposefully given a limited life span as they were just tests which Cronos probably didn't want running around for ages or they simply lacked the technology to give them proper life spans. Has anyone said that Guyot has a limited life span thanks to this re-processing? I would imagine that he would be quite adverse to being brought back to fighting form only to be alive for a few more years. He seems hellbent on world domination. I think that either Cronos technology improved, or he has been processed differently to regular proto Zoalords. His Quadriga form is definitely not zoalord-related, even though he was shown to still possess his previous Zoaform.
