What live-action series are you watching or have you watched?
Jess♥ replied to Toku Warrior's topic in Japanese Entertainment
best parts of ryuki is how funny shinji can be when he is screwing up or simply being clumsy. he is what makes it for me. without him, ryuki would have been an empty show. i recommend watching it when you can appreciate his character fully. or at least when you feel you can grow to appreciate him. -
ha ha, cute I think it could be cuter still even. if you exaggerate his face parts i think it will look even more chibi.

Thanks salkafar. Great stuff!

ok, I will use those chinese scans to do typeset this tomorrow. thanks guys Guyver Four if you ever wish to discuss anything please feel free to PM me.
-
I think we appreciate any and all versions that are found for our community whichever version is available quickest is best for the community because we basically want to see what is going on as soon as possible! regardless of quality. the chinese version used to be fastest but now it seems it can be gotten faster altogether. it is not preferable to use the chinese version because they put their stamp on it and translating it is not as accurate as from japanese. as such, I personally really appreciate the quality scans you get guyver four, because they are the original scans, un-stamped and non adjusted. it makes it easier for me as I don't have to remove stamps and try and fix the original art in some places. and I think it's better for the community because the end result is a better quality. I think props are in order for anyone who provides these pages for us. if you can continue providing these high quality scans, you would be an absolute star.

oh that's interesting. what is that? I am not familiar with the name. I was just going by the bible that is widely distributed in the UK, I can't say anything about other versions of the bible from elsewhere so sorry if that's what you were referring to. oh also, perhaps i am wrong in assuming that genesis is the only relevant part here. of course the story of creation is cited in other places such as the gospel of john.
-
I don't see how you can say that, since the first line reads "in the beginning god created the heaven and the earth" it doesn't refer to anything *before* the beginning.
-
oh cool! well you know that mediafire is still operational? I find them to be most reliable.
-
so it is quite similar. perhaps it's due to the way Japan seems to have more worldwide influence. on the world scale, or at least from a western perspective, Korea is not very well known. but Japan is of course very popular amongst many people. I don't know Boa. whenever i think of korean music, I think of 'genie for your love' or whatever it is called.

indeed go check out my review in the games subforum

Guyver Four, are you living in Japan now? if not, how are you getting these? big thanks anyhow! (by the way the title is something like, "the quite night has been shattered, now...")
-
why are they singing in Japanese if they are Korean? I find myself wondering, is the relationship between Korea and Japan similar to the relationship between some European countries and the UK? I believe a lot of European groups record their songs in English. their method of dancing is very tantalising... I found myself falling into some kind of trance...!

I gotta be honest, talking with you guys makes it better for me. because i had totally forgotten abuot who Izuna even was, but now I know so much more about him. if it does turn out to be him, I won't be so underwhelmed as I would have been.
-
I see the parallels you are drawing, and I understand the logic. it does make a lot of sense. I guess I felt so underwhelmed when madara was revealed. I felt that we had not had a decent introduction to him, like no backstory or character relevance. there is a definite historic reference, but not enough to really tie in with the story. plus it doesn't really make sense to me that he would feel the need to wear a mask. not to mention izuna gave up both his eyes. obito gave up one, and that is the side that was covered with his first mask. I think when madara was introduced into the fray of things, I felt underwhelmed because the character had no personal relationship with him. there was no drama or feeling. this seems very un-naruto. if it were to be obito, there are surely gaps. but I also feel that there are gaps elsewhere. I felt it was very wrong for orochimaru to be out of it so early for example. but if you think along those lines, didn't orochimaru have the desire to learn every jutsu in existence? if this were somehow a result of obito and orochimaru, it is feasible for him to know such jutsu's as only madara knew. also, didn't tobi use impure world resurrection to revive the jinchuuriki's? that wasn't kabuto was it? I just get the feeling that .. when tobi finally removes his mask.. assuming he does, I think like he says " behold, I am truly... IZUNA" I think the characters would be like "O RLY? me no care... OH WELLS, let's fight then." *sigh* but on the other hand if he says "behold, I am truly... OBITO" then kakashi would jump in and be like "OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. WHAT WHAT, LYK OMG, U IS DED!!! HOW? HOW? HOW? HOW?" cue angst and flashbacks.

I don't fully follow everything you are saying since I have not delved so carefully into the character histories etc and i am forgetful, but I don't currently view izuna as being significant enough to be Tobi. I mean, Obito was pretty significant, being the person who gave kakashi his eye. right from the start, kakashi was a pivotal person in narutos life and also sasuke and sakura, also, the presence of his sharingan was something very special right from the start. the relationship between kakashi and obito seems very fitting in that way and that is why i think it would be very suitable for tobi to be obito. taking this into account, can you demonstrate how izuna would be equally significant? I mean characterwise. backstory-wise he is a major character, but when it comes to a strongly character driven manga, it seems like weak story telling.

I am totally thinking about the green arrow right now. I don't know much about comic books (shocking, I know) so I don't know if green arrow has a super power, but from watching Smallville, it doesn't appear that he does. so these guys would be very similar.
-
so their special abilities are tactical and reconnaissance?
-
I feel like you are completely missing the point. the point is 'firefox sync'. you don't need the old hard drive. .. i've said this about 3 times already....
-
glad it continues. i love those drawings of Gregole, they are so impressive.

who is that guy shrouded in flame?

Utawarerumono, I watched that one, I recall it was very good, some really good strategy and intriguing backstory. can't recall any of the details though as it was quite a while back. I guess while enjoyable, it was ultimately forgettable. -
I want to elaborate, since it is impossible to make a game that is totally new. to describe the battle system, I have noticed there is a lot of influence from the world of warcraft battle system. although there is positional strategy involved in this. advantages for strikes from behind and from the side. it's more like WoW sped up and with more of a challenge. there is no 'pocket dimension' the battles take place in the real world. you can run away from most fights just fine. as long as the area isn't crawling with baddies of course. oh yes, there is materia in this game. in name and in spirit, although not together. the slots are filled with gems that attribute stat boosts etc. and the name materia is used for something else. but it doesn't feel like a wallpaper job, that is what I think you were referring to.

I understand the position you are in. I also had a difficult situation recently. I think the decision just needs to be made. once the decision is made, it's like a freight train. decision flows into action and there is nothing that can stop it. how you phrase it does not matter. after all, you are professional enough that by this stage, whatever you say will be correct.
-
yeah you got it. I personally feel that there are some very interesting influences from final fantasy 7 in this game. like I can say that one of the areas is called Eryth Sea. but apart from the references, this is very much it's own game. what I mean by this is that it is the strongest RPG type game with a strong story that can keep a RPG lover busy for a very long time. back when ff7 came out, there was no game like it. in this generation, there is no game like Xenoblade. at least none that I know of.

Question, is this game any good? Answer, you really need to play it. it's a tough one really when it comes to any games, there will always be haters so we can never guarantee a games success, but when I compare this game to final fantasy 13, I have to say that square-enix need to take a lot of notes. this is how you make a game. this is how you tell story, this is how you do awesome cut scenes. and this is how you create an immerse world that draws people in. you may have seen screenshots of the game and you might think they are mere publicity artwork. I will give you a screenshot here and rest assured, this is an IN GAME environment. yes the view is a lot wider than it normally would be, just to give you a nice vista, but this is a true in game environment. it does look that good! (please also use the music on hte official website to enhance your viewing pleasure - http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/sx4j/index.html) this game puts to shame all those games like zelda, final fantasy etc. the size, complexity and uniqueness of the environment is quite stunning. it can take a long time to explore all the areas and it is so rich, you have missions to complete and lots of items to collect that do have a very real bearing on later events. the story is slow to build. you start off with very little understanding of the world and the people that inhabit it, but as time goes on, all sorts of things are brought in to play that have you questioning and also making educated guesses as to what will happen. This game is not available in the USA yet, but it has been available in europe for quite some time. I would like to recommend all europeans to get this, and you americans to pre--order it! This is one game that is worth buying a Wii for outright. there is no RPG/action adventure game on this generation of consoles that comes close to this IMO. it is the final fantasy 7 of it's generation.
