i wasn't too thrilled to be honest. at the start of it i thought it was prety good, but towards teh end, it became more of a role call - explosion - parody. actually, at the end part of the movie, i was thinking less 'star trek' and more 'galaxy quest'. i was puzzled as to why the ship was different, as this is supposed to be the exact same ship from the original series. but this was obviously totally different in design and also the insides were totally different, since when did ship builder become so careless that they left everything open and neglected to fit walls in engineering sections. since when ws teh design of the original series era, looking more like teh design of 50 years later. i was half expecting them to say, this is a initial design they were trying out. i half expected at the end, the force of the singularity to strip away that stupid body moulding and reveal the proper shape underneath. but no. this is so far removed from the original trek design, this is nothing like trek design that i know of. after learning that this is now a it no longer seemed to matter what happened. there was no consequence to any of teh characters I knw from star trek so what do i care what happens? out of all star trek movies i have seen, this is THE WORST at being star trek. it's not a terrible movie in it's own rite, it's not amazing, but i did find it made me a little sleepy. so it's not a terrible movie, it's just a absolutely awful star trek movie. I'm not a trekkie though. don't misunderstand. I'm not out for blood. but i have watched every episode of every season of every series except for the original series. (i'm almost a third of teh way through watchingt that now) i at least expect things to remain faithful, this is not faithful IMO.

yeah, i can redo this newer one. it's just after about 5 hours of work, I didn't want to play around with colours too much. mayhap i go back to it, I'll add more shading and make the colours brighter.

yeah cheers bbdude, that is exactly why i did it. I looked at that old wallpaper and i did not appreciate it. I wanted a much better version. i might decided to add more work onto this one. perhaps some extra shadowing.

i have mine on a desktop rotation. i have a collection of a number of wallpapers. it changes every half hour or so.

I started this ages ago. must be half a year ago. it's vector based so if anybody wishes to get a larger version, I can provide. also, if somebody i trust wishes to make something, I can provide, and they can change colours, add effects etc. (somebody i trust means that i don't wish to give my source file to a stranger who could plagiarise my work)

tomorrow? wow, that's soon! I don't have the funds right now, dammit.

there is so much wrong with that sentence it is quite unbelievable. first of all, I have not 'kept insisting' anything. second of all, ALL evidence is circumstantial. things can always be refuted(not evidence, interpretation), it just depends what level you want to work on. third of all, I think i made it quite clear i don't want ANYBODY to make any kind of admission their belief may be invalid "may or may not be true". it is their own belief and they are welcome to it. at the end of the day, all of science could be some made up story that was downloaded into my brain 5 seconds before this moment and the entire world a fabrication in some kind of simulation a-la red dwarf "back to reality". but let's not get into that now.

that's fair enough, and good point. it is my view that a person is entitled to have a personal opinion based on anything they choose. as long as they do not harm others with this. usually if somebody is simply unaware of some factors, they can be offered more information, but it is my experience that breaking away from some personally held views can be a source of anxiety for some people. sometimes a persons belief is their world. you may get a lot of people who will take this personal belief and try and ram it down others throats. I would not allow that kind of behaviour on here. as long as people keep their beliefs personal and allow for others the same freedom, then that is all good. an interesting point about nature evolution and that. basic survival leads us to trust in our own senses. they are first and foremost in our very being. if somebody witnesses something, no matter how strange, they are going to believe that over any amount of logic that any books dictate. if they do not, they will be choosing the path of insanity and i don't think anyone would choose that path. instead it formulates personal belief.

yeah, there's no problem, I'm just judging by my own behaviour. I think sometimes it feels like ther eis just videos posted and it feels very impersonal. but perhaps i have ignored instances when it not.

I think we'd all like a small bit of writing saying what it is and why you're posting it. I know i would. I could just go to youtube and look at what is popular or do a random search. you don't have to, but I find myself ignoring some of your videos. i would be more likely to watch if i knew why you posted it. it depends on how important it is to you that people watch them? also, i think i would like to talk about the videos a bit more.

I'm confused as to the relevance of a lot of your post salkafar. i think the whole point of this discussion is about evolution, not the finer points of darwins travels. I don't feel that your responce actually adequately contributes to the discussion. although you wrote something about genetic trends, or at least that's how i interpreted it. perhaps you could talk more about that? that could help us further understand your viewpoint. p.s. it's only a contentious subject if you don't accept somebody elses right to hold a personal view. no matter how 'wrong' you might believe that to be.

yes. G is certainly better. I'm still a little puzzled about the structures you have coming from the elbows though. well I drew my idea of what would be a sensible shape. although in this drawing, the neck is too short. i couldn't be bothered using my scanner but the quality of my camera is good eough for the detail in this drawing.

in terms of aerodynamics and flight mechanics, I do not think it would work. I think you need a pretty solid leading edge, otherwise you will have all sorts of turbulence cause by the skin flapping about. with such turbulence you can't generate lift. also, I think it unlikely that any type of evolution would yield two extra bones coming from hte elbow joint.

I don't know if my bike is actually any good at all. i only used it for riding in the town. I don't like it actually. my old one was rusted all over, but i really liked it. this new one just doesn't seem to work right, it is heavy and teh gears are clunky and the brakes do not work right. sometimes if you want a good thing you have to go to a shop that is not famous.

I think if you somehow mix the rat with hte pterosaur and a bat, you would get something workable. rats are pretty good on teh ground, but you need to keep their configuration somehow in order to let them run the same as they normally do. in that case, you can sacrifice one phalange for the wing like teh pterosaur and keep the rest the same. you can attach the membrane to hte rear leg like teh bat. in terms of muscle structure... you'd have to adapt the skeleton and muscle structure like that of a bat since a rat cannot pull it's forelegs out horizonatally.. I think.

wow! what on earth were you doing for those bikes to get so badly damaged? were you riding over walls and stuff??? I haven't ridden my bike in a very long time. I rode over glass and got very bad puncture. i haven't been able to fix it yet. I tried 3 times. failed.
