  1. if you went to school in the uk through the late 80's and early 90s you'd understand. I hadn't considered this so maybe it would have been better had i not said that.
  2. ok thanks durendal. so.. boiling the tea... won't it end up stewed? I was always taught that stewed tea is bad. and then.. condensed milk, is also got a taboo status in my family. it seems 'cheap'. would cream be appropriate? or is it definitely condensed? how much sugar is appropriate? i drink tea with two sugars normally. would this be correct? or is it meant to be a lot sweeter? and the viola. they are usually too big for cups, so could i use a miniature one? or must i crush it up into sawdust? heh heh, sorry i couldn't resist. what a delicious little typo.
  3. hotaru no hikari looks brilliant! thanks for sharing that, I really want to watch that one too. I watched the intro, up to the office part, it has all hte hallmarks that i look for. good music, interesting character intros, nice atmosphere. I eventually found a video for お金がない after traipsing through a load of yaoi manga and anime also called okane ga nai.... unfortunately i can't stomach old series. so i didn't like the way it was looking. i want to keep post 2005 i reckon. maybe 2000 and onwards would be ok. but HD really does make all the difference. well I have 1 more episode of nohonjin no shiranai nihongo to watch. I enjoyed it a fair bit. although there were times when they explained complex lingustics rather quickly and i got a bit lost but those moments were rare, it is mostly fun, and the swedish girl is so cute
  4. ah.... big apologies. yeah i definitely owe you a big apology. I completely missed one word. one very important word. I read your sentence as "- you have to try to understand the difference :/" completely missing the 'it'. i misread it, didn't like how it sounded, and decided not to reread the sentence to make sure i hadn't got it wrong. totally my fault. sorry about that. and also sorry i gave you the impression that i was knocking your idea. I wasn't. I was replying solely to durendal at that point, although considering how I phrased it and the inference on what you had already proposed, I realise you have every right to take umbrage with it. I guess i can elaborate by saying that my observations are based on my family and the regulars to cafes that i frequent. in the city, everything is different. I would like to try it. I'd like to try and make it. I mentioned it to the shopkeeper in the local tea/coffee store that i mentioned. she said she hadn't heard of it but would certainly be interested in learning more.
  5. yeah, remember those problems we were having with the forum? i disabled the wiki bridge because it was causing those issues. feel free to make the topic. as it's only a small group of us editing the pages, there's not much point in working hard to fix it. edit: front page is looking good. it was a good change.
  6. if i can find out exactly how to make it, I can advocate it in a place I know. I am pretty friendly with the owners of a local shop that is a specialist in tea and coffee. they may be interested in this as a way to drive up business as most small businesses need.
  7. i'm sure you realise that telling me that i have to understand the difference, does not magically make me understand. if i don't see what the difference is, then you telling me i have to understand is not going to do it, it just sounds like an attack. I understand there is a difference. most people won't. they listen to a few words and then make up their mind. upon hearing 'milk tea' they will have already decided what it is and ignore the rest. plus, the description i have been given, sounds very much like milkshake to me. trust me, if there was somewhere close to me that did it, I would have already tried it. and it is fair to say british people are people of habit. since i am british and lived here my entire life. I'm pretty sure i remember you saying you grew up somewhere else, or spent a great deal of time elsewhere. your sphere of influence is not a traditional british background. you see society from a different perspective to how I do. I live within a british family who have lived in britain all their lives and among this society. I frequent cafe's and i watch what people choose. they almost always choose exactly the same thing and are no inclined to try something new. they kick up a fuss any time anything is changed. some people, I have merely suggested that they try something new and ended up in an argument. I am very much interested in hearing about your perspective on things, but please don't attack my post in such a way. i don't feel it is very fair.
  8. yeah it is.
  9. you need to remember that in the UK, milk tea is the norm. that is, tea with about 10-30% milk. cafe's are very normal, there are numerous in each town. and cafe's serve tea, coffee, juice and assorted sandwiches, soup and other snack foods. a milk tea bar type place would be difficult to market in the uk due to people's tendency to already put milk in tea. to try and explain this to people is like saying tea with more milk in it. people just wouldn't get it unless you give them a presentation. and then if you did say that to people, they would just go to their normal cafe and ask for more milk. which people could do anyway in the past on their own initiative but they don't because then it is cold and tasteless. everyone has their own favourite way of having their tea, with their preferred amount of milk. bubble tea.. sounds like milkshake to me. I'm not sure, it might get some interest if it was tried in some cafe's. but then again, a lot of british are creatures of habit.
  10. in the general whatever section. i think. can't think of anywhere else it might be.
  11. no, because the inference of "nice guy" such as 40 year old virgin etc, is that a nice guy is a man who is, for all intents and purposes, dickless. nah, guys i'm weaving a wee bit of a tail here. I wasn't completely un-interested. yeah I paid attention to her for sure. if i had suggested, she would have certainly gone to my room with me etc. but to be honest, I wasn't feeling it, if you get my drift. she seemed like an attractive girl, but something about her was just a bit of a turn off. i agree, it seems like a wasted opportunity. I think back and i consider that i could have had a bit of tail. but at the same time, I could have gotten more than that. maybe STD or something. as I discovered that she 'knew' a fair few guys other than me. ha ha. I like to come off as all calm and collected and not interested in girls, but ya know, I'm as human as the rest of ya. let's just pretend ok? picture me like chow yun fat. that's what i aspire to. so it sounds like things are going well dude. glad to hear it. forget about that creepy stalker guy. end of the day, he just wants to get under yer skin.
  12. I am a nice guy, but when you say it like that it makes me sound like a "nice guy" which I am not. I'm certainly not the 40 year old virgin type of 'nice guy' or stanley ipkiss. more like the bulletproof monk type of nice guy. I know what's important and when. I've got no time for any woman that i don't intend to marry. well that's not entirely true of course. I've made time for some women that i have known. but desperate women are a total turn-off as far as I'm concerned as it means they have low self esteem. I only go for strong confident women.
  13. it's annoying isn't it. well you can block some programs if they appear too often, but maybe there is something in your privacy options? feel free to add me on there, we have a thread here somewhere, a fair few of us are networked on there.
  14. last time i tried watching a movie with a girl, she kept climbing on top of me, it was annoying. i think maybe she wasn't interested in the movie. Got your back Jack. Bitches be crazy. heh heh, to be honest she was not that appealing. can't remember why she was at my house. not sure what it was about her. she was attractive and all that. just something about her. maybe too desperate.
  15. i say go for it. aesthetics really has no place in a wiki type page. you've done such good work on all of these, it is a responsibility to yourself to do it justice ! anyway, I've sent out a tweet about the work on 'the first' page. I like what you did with those remarks as well. makes it a lot more interesting.
  16. nichijou currently airing is an anime of a comedy manga. it seems to me to be similar to pani poni dash in that it doesn 't really have what looks like a solid plot. i recognised this picture, i've seen it a lot somewhere. another one i've taken an interest in, Denpa Onna. it looks very cute. a girl who thinks she is an alien but actually isn't.
  17. wow! congratulations! you have college next right? how long til then? got some nice things lined up to tide you over?
  18. I saw a review of it. I'm not sure if I want to watch it though. not my style i think. I did take an interest in nichijo. I'll think about it some more.
  19. i like how he behaves. have we seen some other tokusatsu guy behaving in that feral fashion? the movement looks familiar. it's different to fang-joker form. more crouched and bestial.
  20. that was quick? how does this occur? congratulations anyway!
  21. wow, very nice! I am really impressed at how they wind around each other. the colours are really vibrant. the battle itself reminds me of d-wars.
  22. cool, well to save me getting confused do you think you could find that thread and post the image there? it would be greatly appreciated
  23. last one is best. very fancy. you could share it in the chapter discussion topic. more ppl can see it.
  24. nice work thanks for sharing, goes nice in your avatar
  25. yeah i know, I was just having a joke with you I thought about this and i think there is a starbucks in the trendy new shopping centre. I don't go there though. no local businesses there, just big shopping chains. I don't care for those places.
