It's basically Hollywood Execs always taking the wrong lessons from successful movies. This lesson is "Nostalgia will sell anything! Even if it isn't quite the same!" They basically looked at what the current movie demographic is: People in their late 20's to mid 30's. They then look back at what was popular back then, and start thinking of what they can bring back. The usual problem: What they bring back, is usually changed or modified in a way that doesn't capture what made the original so good. (case in point with Ghostbusters here). The newest one we are worried about is what happened with Deadpool. What they should take from the movie is: "Movies that pay tribute the original character rather than try and change them, can make people happy" What they will take from it: OMG WE CAN MAKE R RATED NOSTALGIA MOVIES! LET'S MAKE 20! RIGHT NOW! I DON'T CARE WHAT THE SUBJECT IS!

Greetings everyone! I was just wondering if any of the original English voice actors from the twelve episode Guyver OVA had any personal websites. I've been rewatching the series lately and remembered one of the reasons why I loved it. The voice actors for Sho, Mizuki, Tetsuro, Agito, ZX-Tole, Guyot (obey the hair!), and Enzyme were my absolutely fantastic! Tom Fahn did a wonderful job with Sho. The emotion he put into the character made him very believable. I also get a gargantuan case of the feels when ever Melissa Fahn calls out to Sho as Mizuki. Whenever I read the Guyver manga Steven Blum is always the voice that plays out in my mind for Agito. I will admit that the voice work was not always perfect, but I loved it nonetheless. The Guyver OVA was my gateway into anime, and the whole Guyver universe. I want to know about any personal websites for the voice actors because I really want to see what other series they may have worked on. I would also like the chance to personally thank them for their contributions to Guyver. I would not bother them with a long winded letter. Just a simple thank you for their work on the series that had such a profound impact on my life. If this all sounds selfish I understand and apologize. Guyver is very dear to me, and I appreciate all the work that went into it. On a side not I would also really like to get the Advocacy's opinion on the voice acting for the OVA series. Which characters did you like in the English dub?

if you're thinking of buying g1 figma, do it soon, as i've already seen some sellers listing them for over $100 already! who knows what the asking price of them would be in a years time and he'll continue going up in price when g2f and g3 becomes available. you'll be kicking yourself after

I have no problem with an all female cast. But that characters seem too over the top. The team from the original felt like real but eccentric people and they were funny because of that. The comedy here feels to in your face and less natural. And worst of all it dosnt look or feel in any way scary. Ghostbusters is in many ways like Gremlins, it's a movie that dosent just slot into one genre. This feels like a pure comedy. And those awful, neon CGI ghosts. I literally didn't know whether to laugh,cry or both and this is coming from a guy who has never complained about CGI and can watch crappy Bigfoot movies. After watching Crimson Peak these ghosts look and feel so tacky.

I am waiting for the scanlation of it prior to commenting. I have seen the raws for it and it looks decent enough. But I want to read it too...

I don't blame you. I was heart broken when my first BFC Guyver broke. First it was the hands, than the head, etc. And they were so super expensive...the Figma Guyver won't be cheap as well, but he's alot more sturdy. The joints feel soft, yet they're strong. I put my Figma Guyver through some heavy play the first month I got him, hasn't broke once. If you can find one for about 65 dollars, go for it. Not past that though. I got mine for 11 bucks off at Amazon. But there are a few sellers on Amazon and EBay that sell it for just a smidge less.My advice, get it now before it triples in price, who knows if it'll ever be re-released. You won't regret it. Blows the older figure right out of the water.

Now even I want to buy all 3 of them. Starting saving money now.

Another fun fact: Agito's OVA voice actor also played the part of Wolverine in the X-Men anime.

I thought sho, mizuki and agito were good. I prefer the guyot from the later series tho. Similarly, it was my 1st real exposure to anime, for that reason, I'm sure it will always be my favourite and continue to spur my drive to continue with the slow moving storyline. I would look on imdb myself if I were looking for info on the voice cast of the guyver.

Is there any way you could give a few parts of it in english? Like any future plans or special commentary? Sorry to ask but I cannot read Japanese. I ordered my volume 32 and it should be here soon. Can't wait! I have a strong feeling that the interview will be translated by the Advocacy but I can give you some huge spoilers like: Takaya doesn't own a smart phone He knows that he needs to pull his finger out and finish the story. ......The rest will come to light eventually I'm sure.

Seeing this thread makes me want to get my man cave organised so my Guyver collection is in place properly.
