Guest Jupiter Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I've been reading a lot into this. Seems that we will see our Marvel Heros again. Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Ant Man....so it seems. We won't be seeing Loki for a while and they will be introducing Tony Stark's Hulk Buster Armor. Sounds like its going to be a good movie. I don't know the full scoop on the story. Not much to nothing. But I can't wait to see my all time favorite marvel hero, Thor bashing his opponents around with Mjonir and maybe get to see his mortal girl friend Jane. After all we got to see Pepper in the first one, and Iron Man got more screen time. Perhaps it will focus more on Thor this time. I have looked in to Ultron. He reminds me quite a bit like Skynet from Terminator on how he can infect other machines and grow new bodies. I don't see how he'll be more powerful than Loki or , Dr. Doom or Thanos. I'm sure I will learn more about him as time passes. He must be very powerful if he's to be th villain in Avengers 2 . If anyone knows more. Please share. Thank you. P.S I really enjoy spoilers, so if anyone knows anything about the plot. By all means share your findings. Quote
Salkafar Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Ultron is a superintelligent artificial being who has one motto: "Death to humanity". And he always comes back. Usually deadlier than before. Nobody knows why he has such a beef with humanity. He just does. I guess something about us annoys him. Make no mistake, though. He is in the top five of most dangerous enemies of the Avengers - and the others are the likes of Kang the Conqueror, Loki of Asgard, Doctor Doom and Thanos. He once exterminated the population of an entire country... in an afternoon. And when the Avengers and the UN invaded, he sent the cybernetically animated corpses of the people to stop them. He took on all the Avengers at once, defeating all of them (including Thor) and only going down when Hank Pym layed the smackdown with Antarctic Vibranium (a unique material which dissolves all metals on contact). In the comics, Ultron was originally created by dr. Henry Pym, one of the founding Avengers. But because they told the story differently in he movies, I suspect Ultron will instead be an evolved artificial intelligence created by Tony Stark. After all, Tony intends to reduce his activity as Iron Man for Pepper's sake (and Robert Downey jr's sake, I imagine); but he can't leave the Avengers high and dry. Now, I guess he could ask War Machine/ Iron Patriot, but James Rhodes (again, unlike in the comics) is a USAF officer, and that would link the Avengers directly to the US government and create a conflict of interest for Rhodey. So what does he do? Well, he already has created several artificial intelligences - think of Dummy and Butterfingers, his lab assistent robots, and JARVIS, the AI who runs his household and regulates his armor systems. Why not create an artificial Iron Man? That might explain why Ultron is apparently kind of ambiguous - not so purely evil and determined as in the comics (Honestly, Ultron is very centered. It's "kill humanity" 24/7 with that guy. Well, that and outshining his creator). He feels demeaned by the attitude of the other Avengers, who are not comfortable having an artificial entity on the team, and tries to prove he is better than any of them... and then better than all of them. He wants to prove himself. Perhaps he even creates the Vision to prove he is better than his own creator. At least that is what I think. The teaser, after all, involved an Iron Man helmet becoming Ultron's head. 1 Quote
oogeej Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 After seeing Days of Futures Past's version of Quicksilver, I've gotta say that Age of Ultron has a heck of a task in showing a better interpretation of him. 2 Quote
durendal Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I'm looking forward to it. But I'm under the impression that Ant-man will be in phase 3. And I seem to remember that they mentioned the guy doing the voice of Jarvis being cast as Vision. I'm more inclined to think that Ultron will only have a minor role leading to his big reveal in Avengers 3. I mean, we still have Thanos to deal with. And Guardians of the Galaxy has extensive links to Thanos. Quote

durendal Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Ant-man (Hank Pym) was a founding member of the Avengers. He can also control ants with his helmet. It's not really the abilities that define Ant-man, but what his intellect can do. Hank Pym discovered the Pym particles which allows him to change his size and shape. And as mentioned, he created Ultron, who created Vision. So in a way, he is Vision's Grandfather. Scott Lang (second Ant-Man), on the other hand, I have yet to see him in action, which would be the main focus of the Ant-Man movie. Quote
Guyver0 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I remember one iteration that Hank Pym (Ant Man) and Tony Stark worked together to create Ultron and that at one time they had several. They're intended use was jailers of sorts for the super villains. However, when Hank was forced to start using Ultron as a weapon and introduced violence to Ultron's programming that is when things started going downhill. Ultron's primary at the time was to defend humanity, but then his logic twisted and he came to the decision that the only way to truly protect humanity is to destroy it. Quote

Guest Jupiter Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Check it out. New pictures on Avengers 2. Exciting!!!!! Quote
*V Guyver Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I must be a pervert, I keep looking at black widow. >>Ant man is actually a badass, maybe not as famous, but certainly above the average super hero. He also had a villainous streak, a personality disorder, arrogance, and an abusive husband, and other times simply loving and jealous. Really depends on the writer, but overall he's been a fantastic hero with a dorky background. It's funny, Scott Summers has cooler powers and background, but he's typically uncool Where as Hank Pym should be way less cool, but is a far better character. It terms of DC characters in comparison, he's closest to Brainiac. Both are AI aliens with Durability that both the Hulk and Superman have trouble dealing with, high intellect, technology, and constantly coming back despite repeated destruction. Also they have fairly simple Two Dimensional goals. Destroy humanity and collect their data. Quote
LordSpleach Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Brainiac is a good comparison but Ultron is home-made. Quote
Salkafar Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 It has been suggested that Hank Pym is actually a mad doctor who accidentally became a hero. Also: http://www.pastemagazine.com/blogs/lists/2013/08/10-great-ultron-stories.html I wouldn't compare him to Brainiac per se. Brainiac (except for the animated version) tends to be more involved... and yet more aloof. Whereas Ultron is always, despite his features being perpetually frozen in that Jack-O'-Lantern scowl, is a ball of furious, passionate hate. Quote
H222G981 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Robert Downey Jr. is one of the best actors out there. I think he made a big difference in that boy's life. Quote
