Guest Jupiter
There has always been talk of Episode 7, 8, and 9 well before the prequel trilogy. I never knew they had ever planned on making another trilogy. I just thought it was over and done once Luke killed Darth Vader.
LordSpleach
Been talked about for years. I read about how Anakin lost his fight to Obi-Wan on the back of a Obi-Wan figure from the 70'/80's.
Larz Zahn
Lucas was making drafts as soon as return of the Jedi was finished. J.J and actually have access to those drafts but they are nit subjugated to follow them. Which i think was really smart. Those drafts were made relatively early, do they might not be screwed up, but if they were, the ep 7 crew isn't bound legally to follow them. And Jupiter? Those are fighting words to every star wars fan our there. Regardless of which Trilogy they like. It's like chocolate, you always want more. *Jess♥
Aren't all the Sith dead? It seems the line was broken but there is not much reason there can't be more, not the way I see it. it's not like there aren't anyone who could use the force and turn to the dark side. during the prequels there were a number of Sith, Darth Maul, Darth Tyranus, and Darth Vader. It's not like the other ones didn't exist when the previous was alive. They might not be a Sith, but what would they be if not a Jedi? Maybe it's not so simple. I mean... remember the Jedi order was also ravished. Was Luke really a Jedi? did he receive teh proper training and years of conditioning? no, he was the next best thing of course, but by the standards of the prequel movies, Luke was not a Jedi. This is just my opinion of course, I am far from expert on Star Wars films.

This is just my opinion of course, I am far from expert on Star Wars films. Luke Skywalker did become a Jedi Knight eventually, but he was a Jedi because of his blood relations because of Anakin and founder of the New Jedi Order. I suppose we'll be seeing him teaching newer generation Jedi in the seventh film. But yes I agree with you, he only had a few years of training, he was not a Jedi Knight when he fought Darth Vader. Now I had always believed that Luke was going to be the chosen one, but I was wrong and way off on that. Instead it was Anakin Skywalker that turned out to be the chosen one after all, even though he took the wrong path that being the dark side, he still made the same outcome which lead to the same result. Remember that is was not Luke that defeated the Emperor, but Darth Vader/ Anakin. Darth Vader is the one who threw the Emperor to his death when he was attacking Luke. Anakin was always the chosen one. Even when it seemed like he turned out not to be at the end of the third movie when he became Darth Vader. Even though, he was the Adolf Hitler of the Universe at that time who was one of the biggest mass murderers there was in existence.
*Jess♥
he didn't bring balance to the force though did he. he basically got rid of teh sith which left a complete imbalance if anything. I was wondering earlier if these new movies might address that.find a way to have true balance. light and dark in a perfect sync. I tended to think that Luke was close to striking a balance. He looks pretty mean in return of the jedi. I believe it is possible for a human to have passion and also be meditative.
odin
I think they address stuff like that on the extended universe jess but since they are not going to follow the Star Wars EU it is a whole new ball game to me, just because there are no more sith it does not mean that there can't be people that can be influenced by palpatine's and vader's ways and decide to find scrolls or hollocubes or whatnot that allows them to learn at least the basics of what the sith order is and make up the rest as he goes just like Luke did, yes he is NOT a Jedi Knight perse, to me he is a new type of knight that will do the best he can to prevent the mistakes that the old order did, IE follow tradition and vague prophesies and maybe try to find a way to teach future Knights a way to use both Light AND Dark versions of the force thus creating a better view of things cause if you think about it to me the old Jedi aside from Obiwan seemed like robots while the sith seemed a lot more human despite of being "evil" perhaps the new generation introduced in this film could tackle this subject? like maybe a few new order Knights turn dark side and the new protagonists alongside Luke try to find a way to turn them back? dunno, there are a lot of ways this movie can go, I just hope the director can get his act together and not make something that is just ....decent. Larz Zahn
That prophecy was the stupidest thing. The galaxy was full of Jedi. "light". and very little sith. "dark". So what did they think was going to happen when they bring balance to the force?!?? Everybody gets along? Bringing balance means equaling both sides out evenly. So if the Jedi die off or if the sith population majorly increases, either way.. Bad!!! Haha! And being a Jedi isn't a born into thing. Someone isn't Jedi just because they are force sensitive, being a Jedi means that your are a part of the.... Organization. It's a choice. And there were plenty of dark Jedi in the eu. Not just sith. it's a subtle difference. Edited July 4, 2014 by Larz Zahn

odin
it's a decent teaser, it does not get me hyped tho, I guess I was expecting more but it is too early to judge, there is one thing that bothers me about the trailer and you can call it a nitpick but the lightsaber design on the mystery sith/dark jedi bothers me, why give it beam guard? it looks so impractical and make the already hard to use lightsaber even harder cause he could accidentally just stab himself with the guard, anyways the new stormtroopers helmets are cool, here it is hoping the movie delivers on entertaining and does not try to hard to beat the previous movie and just do its own thing. Here are some pics from the trailer:
Mirabilis
Yup, I'm neutral with it, and many people are upset about the whole lightsaber design. Me, I don't really care, it's just that characters personal design. It's not like every character is going to have that or something. Just his/her/its personal preference. If anything, maybe he did it to look more sinister I dunno, I'm open to it though.
*guyverfan
well, i'm officially excited! JJ has been rocking my world for years and if disney exec's stay out of his way, there's no way this will be a letdown. as for the lightsaber, he won't be getting his hand chopped off anytime soon, hehehe. i love how they've brought the saber energy light to life. looks like the flame that comes out of my oxy blow torch, only 5feet longer. beats lucas's classic fluro tube, thats for sure. durendal
Not much of a Star Wars fan but did love the original trilogy. The prequels were only "meh" to me. I guess I'll be looking forward to this. Here's hoping they won't come up with another Jarjar binks this time. Do you think there's going to be another shocker reveal in this trilogy?
