Ahh you beat me to it. XD honestly the trailer is decent enough and I can see what they are trying to do, I just wish that people stopped being so spoiled and not judge things before they are even out, there have been occasions where the remake has been as good or superior to the original, not many times but it has, perhaps this one will surprise us, I will as always reserve my judgement until the movie is out.

I must say, I am liking what I see.

Particularly the fact that it isn't a complete rehash of the first movie, and seems to have it's own premise about the Alex Murphy/Robocop persona.

In the first movie, they made him more "Robo" than human, which he had to overcome. In this one, they still seem to make him very human, but influenced by the machine. In which they kind of already spoiled that he has to overcome.

I do like the Silver armor more of course, and am hoping we get to see a lot of it... Since the trailer seems to show it quite a bit.

This is shaping up to be an actual REBOOT, rather than a REMAKE. And I like that. As it stands, only one character in the movie keeps their name from the previous films... And that is Alex Murphy.

And yeah, I know they are going to make it a PG-13 movie... But you can still have a great action movie in the PG-13 rating. Just because you don't get to see Murphy blown apart by a gang, does not mean it isn't "Robocop". Because this isn't THAT Robocop.

And so far, I likes what I sees.

Could not have said it better myself, I saw some comments in the video complaining of all things about how Murphy was shot down by the villains cause it was and I quote "more emotional" really? to me it was stupid, meaning no real cop would have entered a freaking building without NO backup at all, it was his own fault for trying to act like he was rambo. on the trailer it shows that him becoming robocop was orchestrated by the company and not by chance. I am looking forward to seeing what they want to do with the illusion of free will and the human element on a machine theme, I am not expecting this film to be better than the original but I am expecting it to stand out on it's own since it is not carbon copying the script of the original.

Well remember the original was made in the 80's and Frank Miller wrote the script. So of course you were going to see gratuitous amounts of violence.

And if this movie turns out to be good, hopefully it will get good sequels unlike the original.

Interesting factiod that I don't know if it's true, but according to Geek Crash Course on Youtube, they stated that Robocop design was inspired by Space Sheriff Gavan.

The trailer was freaking awesome!!! I loved the helmet i loved the suit and i loved that its all Murphy mentallyego only thinks he's in control.

Two things i don't agree with.

His hand, and his gun. But hey, it looks likea great movie!

I am guessing the hand is like a tribute to the first one where the company had the chance to salvage his arm but then they decided to go all metal, it looks stupid but having his human arm can provide some advantages that a metal arm can't like feeling texture and having prints etc.. got to think tactical with stuff like that. as for the gun, I don't know, I like it....here is a closer look at his gun taken from the Omnicorp website as well as the robots they have made including ED - 209

Ok, this trailer has me feeling MUCH better about this movie now.

I like how they have both the grey and the black.  And I can see why the human hand now, as he's comparing his flesh self to the metal.  Very poetic visually, for a single shot at least.  Nice.  If it weren't for that, it would be totally stupid.  I kinda want to see this now.

Actually, his hand has nothing to do with being "Tactical".

It's the "Humanizing" that Omnicorp wanted. All their other robots are lifeless and mean looking.

The whole point of having his face and hand the way they are, is so he can be the face of their company/new line of products. He can shake hands with people and show he's "still human". He's meant to show the people the "Good" side of murderbots.

I kinda wish they would still put a glove over the hand during action sequences though. It just doesn't look right.

That is true but what I previously mentioned is also a logical conclusion, probably not the one that they where thinking but that is the impression that it left me with.

You know, I have to think back to the original movie and how they had actually saved Murphey's entire arm. But then, as they were building robocop, the director of the robocop program told them to get rid of it. So I think him having the hand kinda harks back to that particular scene. May of been in the original script for the first movie by miller as well.

Still... it seem so out of place. We can sort of understand the mouth, not only to speak, but to show that he is part human or human once to the public, but at the same time, we all know that the mouth was a huge target, and could never fathom how machine gun fire always missed the mouth. Design wise, having a semi transparent steel or transparent steel strength plastic covering the entire face would of been more practical. And yes, both have been invented already.

I must say that third trailer was made a lot more better than the others, it captured what robocop is perfectly and if they had started with that one first perhaps all the hate I have been seeing about this movie may have been less, although it still would not stop the hate of the black armor.

Great remake, does things that the original failed to do and did it's own thing which I respect, It is not by all means a masterpiece but it is not bad either, I can recommend this movie to anybody who can overcome the nostalgia goggles and acknowledge that it is not going to be the same thing and should not be the same thing. 8/10

In many ways, this movie had a strong narrative.

And for all the gore that was in the first movie, which I can bat an eye at at, there is one scene which made me squirm.

When you see what's left of Alex Murphy

I have to say I did enjoy it quite a bit.

They did touch on a few different points than the original, and did deal with his humanity better.

But it also had quite a number of subtle, and not so subtle throwbacks to the original.

And the PG rating must have been barely granted. Other than the lack of swearing ( unneeded), nudity ( unneeded) and gore (unneeded), there was still plenty of violence and killing. I felt the that PG rating simply was given because they brought what the original had overdone (gore), done to more realistic levels, and omitted a few unnecessary additions that were not required (nudity and swearing)

And while I stil do not favor the black suit despite the helmet being pretty cool, I really like the silver armor even more. A very nice update to the classic design.
