Toku Warrior Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 It seems that the third and possibly final film in the Bayformer franchise will be set for release as of July 1, 2011. *Jess♥ Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 very nice. i love that guys face. transformers had faces. Quote
odin Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 already said it on facebook but i will say it here too, My expectations are very low for this one, there is no megan fox to be seen so i guess that's a plus, supposedly this movie has a lot more plot so I am a bit curious to what that plot is, hopefully we will see Unicron. durendal Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 If no Megan Fox, that would mean they would replace her with someone hotter. Quote
Larz Zahn Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 i was told that they were gonna introduce Carlie, or however you spell it. she was spikes girlfriend and later wife in the comices. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 i think if there is no unicron then it would be a huge wasted opportunity. for many transformers fans who didn't follow any of the later spin-offs, unicron was the ultimate badass. Quote

LordSpleach Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Well, the last rumor I heard is that they would use Shockwave as the main villian but I hope that doesn't happen. Even Bay said he should go Unicorn scale wise. Quote
Purgstall Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Well, the last rumor I heard is that they would use Shockwave as the main villian but I hope that doesn't happen. Even Bay said he should go Unicorn scale wise. Shockwave is confirmed to be in the movie, not sure if he's gonna be the main villain but he's definitely in it as well as Soundwave (who is going to have more of a role, If I remember Correctly). If Unicron is in the movie, they should have James Earl Jones do the voice for him. I think he's the only one who could do Unicron justice, especially considering Orson Welles did the voice of him in the first Transformers movie that came out in 1986. Quote
Salkafar Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 I have severe doubts about a Bayformer Unicron. I liked Transformers, but Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen was just pretty bad. And what the hell kind of title is Dark of the Moon? Anyway... if they were going to have Unicron, they should have set it up sooner. Like, from the end of the first movie. Make it clear they need the Allspark. But considering Bay's record until now, he would probably have Unicron fart after eating a planet. Or worse. Quote
Purgstall Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I liked Transformers, but Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen was just pretty bad. And what the hell kind of title is Dark of the Moon? Dark of the Moon is actually a scientific term: http://www.halexandria.org/dward381.htm Anyway... if they were going to have Unicron, they should have set it up sooner. Agreed, he would probably would mess up Unicron if he appears in the movie. Quote
Salkafar Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Dark of the Moon is actually a scientific term: http://www.halexandria.org/dward381.htm I'll be darned. I did not know that. But now I do! Now, Unicron crapping out the remains of a planet could actually work... I was going to start a movie featuring Unicron with a couple of minutes of seemingly unrelated science-fiction stuff on an alien planet. The aliens would be nonhuman, but not too unhuman - so you could identify with them. It would be a totally unrelated story which is cut short when their entire planet is devoured by Unicron. He lights up with the energy... and then, just excretes an enormous debris cloud. All that remains of a living world. Could work, if you do it deadpan. Of course, Unicron transforming would be kind of silly. When you think about it, Unicron has no reason to transform into humanoid mode ever. But at the same time, it's the coolest part. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 i think unicron transforming has about the same reasoning for all the other transformers transforming. at least in the terms of bayformers. a phone is a phone. why have it change into humanoid form? for whatever reason that seems to be the mythos michael bay has introduced. things get turned into humanoid for or near enough humanoid form to become weaponised and fight. with something like unicron... it would be a planet sized technology, that is transformed to fight. it would probably become something like a multi-legged battleship type thing. not necessarily humanoid form, but close enough to get away with it. and the large limbs would be used to fight against... is it primus? whatever that other large robot was that turned into cybertron. *V Guyver Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 My expectations are reallly... really... rreeeeaaaallllyy looooooowww. Quote

durendal Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Transformers 3? Meh, it's not something I would look out for. As long as the leading lady is hot, I'd watch it. Quote
Larz Zahn Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 i have so mixed views about bayformers. now me? i grew up with the 80's comics. and the first issue was one of the greatest. brawn and ironhide got fed up with humans being in the way and asked prime if they can kill them. by seeing the cartoon first, i never expected that from the first comic!! according to transformer legend, the original gen 1 transformers, the ones that started it all, unicron and and primus were actually scouts created by the one. no real info on the one. just that he sent them out. he made unicron, then he split unicron into two, unicron and primus. ole unicron liked to destroy everything he found basically, and primus felt compelled to protect the universes. (Yes. plural) interesting enough, primus and unicron had 3 ways to combat each other, robot mode, planet mode, and astral plane. the robot mode was first constructed by unicron in order to give him an edge over primus. it was based off of his astral pattern. primus's astral form looks similar to rodimus primus' robot mode. after their last final battle, he hurled unicron to an alternate universe, and used his remaining power to create the transformer race. their alt modes was basically for support roles and disguise. their purpose was to gather energy to replendish primus, and also to form defences for when unicron finds his way back, it was never released on how come the transformers lost all memories of their intended design. i think if there is no unicron then it would be a huge wasted opportunity. for many transformers fans who didn't follow any of the later spin-offs, unicron was the ultimate badass. i agree. unicron is the ultimate baddy in any version. the original, armada cybertron whichever. ooo did you guy's know that in the comics powermaster optimus prime sacrificed himself using the matrix to destroy unicron? yeah, im a huge TF fan. but only the gen 1. Bobby Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) Excellent trailer!!! Can't wait to see it. Interesting Filming Factoid: Parts of it were filmed in Washington, D.C. The locations they filmed were near my mom's office!!!!!! I got a few pictures of some of the stuff they had. Edited December 15, 2010 by Bobby Quote
durendal Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I somewhat observe that most of the people who have low expectations of the "bayformers" are mostly the fans who grew up with Generation 1. I myself have some reservations about the "bayformers" since I also grew up with G1, but we have to consider them as another universe. Granted that Micheal Bay did something most of us would not agree on, but the number one downfall for every project is to please everybody. You have to admit, even though things were like that for ROTF, it still made money in the movie market. Hence the part 3 of the movie. If part 3 sells well despite the disappointing movie, I would say it might be possible to see a part 4. Quote
durendal Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 By the way, the girl who will replace Megan Fox is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She's kinda hot, expect no less from a Victoria's Secret model. Quote

If part 3 sells well despite the disappointing movie, I would say it might be possible to see a part 4. i would lie if i said i liked the bayformers. i do love the special effects and the diagoue. the first movie to me was pretty good, ten times better than the second, but thats just because i hate crude humor. part of my bias comes from me reading the movie adaption novel, and the movie prequel novel. the prequel novel had some outstanding space battles in it, as well as each transformer having previously saved alt modes available for them to use whenever. the second part of my bias comes from the actual robot designs. its hard to make out a face for the first time unless they sit still a few moments and study it. its way to much insane detail and information on such a small portion of the robot. thats why i love this trailer and more specifically that unknown transformer. it has an awesome face. Quote
durendal Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 You know, I think the robot designs were too difficult. I don't understand why they have to make the transformation too difficult, like using very, very small pieces, it's just too complex. Why didn't they just design them with a more systematic way, like how the toys transform. Let's just say that the designs were too crude and lacks finesse. And it seems like they took away or downplayed the trademark "transforming sound" that we all loved. it's just isn't the same without the "transformation sound". Well, at least they got Peter Cullen to reprise his role as Prime. Quote
Salkafar Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) The Bayformer thing is that its almost like they just stuck loads of puzzle pieces onto a standard endoskeleton. I much prefer it if a transformation is more integrated, so you can sort of see in robot mode what the vehicle mode was. Mind you, the ROTF Optimus Prime Leader toy is gorgeous... and I am extremely anxious to see what's gonna happen to him in the next one. I have a pic or two of the new Megatron toy. Avert thine eyes if you don't want to be spoiled. Edited December 23, 2010 by Ryuki placing spoiler tag with images Quote
*Jess♥ Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 salkafar, i hope you don't mind, i placed those images into a spoiler tag. i agree about the bayformers design being too complex. I actually think that complex design was a cop-out. it was a way to avoid having to make the transformation actually fit. nobody can look at optimus prime and determine wether his legs are too long to fit in truck mode or if anything else is out of whack. for me, that part is a big disappointment, because i always loved the concept of seeing where things went and how they changed position etc. Quote
