What can I say, the man makes great videos. How many times has scifi shown us the interior of a nuclear reactor? Since we deal with a lot of scifi on this board, this should be interesting to many: I'm amazed at how messy it is. It reminds me of a couple of other places I've worked.

This is something that has interest me a lot for a while since the day I was told of these 2 theories for those who don't know the Uncanny Valley is an Hypothesis used in robotics and 3d animation where human replicas look and act almost human but not perfectly usually creating a sense of revultion, there are 2 ends of that valley one where the replicas are stylized replicas and in the other end is where we have yet to achive is totale realisim where you can't tell the difference if it is real or not. Then there is the singularity which is a bit hard for me to explain but from what I uderstand is a theory of the point where artificial intelligence can reach beyond human…

This is a topic about light and darkness and things related to them, such as fear of the dark, trying to light the darkness, and why people like the night time or day time, and anything that one can think of, as well as ways for "seeing" though the darkness of night or overcast and illusions, such as mirages and such. First, I'll start with a question? What is darker outside: a new moon night or an overcast night? That does go towards how light can trick us and how we in reality might not be able to see the same thing. In other words, it depends. I'd have to say a new moon night with dim stars. With overcast, the cloud cover can catch and reflect light, and the …

  8. Newer, stronger, and faster computers are always being built. Will there ever be a day when computers reach their peak and cannot become any more powerful? I doubt that they will always be able to get more and more faster/stronger forever, but I often wonder will there always be a limit with current technology..? Now its is managed creating multi core CPU's... But that also will reach to a limit shortly.. then we will see some different technology which very much different from current semiconductor based technologies. Thoughts?

Not sure if any of you are aware of the Suidobashi Heavy Industry corporation. But these guys are awesome! Japan makes the first steps towards a high powered militarized mech. This is some really amazing stuff that they work. These guys are literally trying to build the first Gundam aka Mecha Warrior. The video is about Suidobashi's heavy industry mech, Kuratas and how it operates. Check out this video. http://youtu.be/2iZ0WuNvHr8 http://youtu.be/4ZIWXNS7Ggc Also here is the official page. This is so amazing. I want one! These things are literally built like tanks! http://suidobashijuko.jp

Is cheating ever okay? For the most part no. I think its immoral. If you don't want to be with the person, no matter how complicated. Leave them. Break up. I don't believe in lying to someone's face, because some people almost always find out. I think the thing with cheating is that its the normal thing people do in society to have sex out side of a relationship or marriage. I think if you're so inclined to go out and have sex with other people or pursue a relationship outside of a marriage, than perhaps some people haven't realized that they're not happy with who they're with no matter how many times they convince themselves that they are.

So the Arthurian stories are incredibly complex and difficult to follow. There's so much going on and happening I don't have the faintest idea of it's chronology, the order of events or even in what year it was supposed to have taken place. Is there even any actual historical evidence to him, or some physical evidence? All I know is that he was supposed to come from Britannia or tradition Wales; before it was named Wales.

Ever since Oct. of 2013 I've been following, listening and reading these cases and stories. I have some of his books and always love listening to new interviews by him. I also look forward to the documentary. It's incredible. If you haven't taken a look at this, I strongly recommend give it a try. It may change your perspective on the outdoors. It's incredibly tragic and sad. I have a lot of respect for him and what he's doing. The first interview I heard from him on the subject back in 2013

  13. I have to admit that until the holidays that I haven't been on this forum for a while, but it seems that there's been a bit of an influx of female members here. I wonder what it is that draws the female fans to Guyver. After all, Guyver is a science fiction/action-adventure manga and anime series. So there's plenty for male fans to go around as far as a PG-13 rated story (let alone the violent as all hell for its time OVA series), but what is drawing the girls in? Just curious about this.

Ok this is not a joke, its about as far from a joke as we're ever likely to get. This topic is about some pretty dark and grim subject matter, so read at your own discussion. Humans do some pretty messed up stuff, but sometimes we really out do ourselves. This is one of those times, this is the story of Mary. As most of you may know, the life of circus animels is very, very cruel. They spend long periods of time held in confined spaces or chained up with little to no stimuli, little real healthcare (or even just care for that matter) and are regularly abused. They are also tortured into behaving in unnatural ways for the amusement of crowed, sometimes rig…

  16. I decided to make a general thread about various technology stuff about mechanical and electrical devices. Anything can be discussed here, though my areas are expertise are limited with some technology (though looking up the stuff could give me something to do when I'm bored). Mostly, this is a discussion about how various technologies work and our thoughts and opinions on them. Since one of my areas of expertise is automotive stuff, there's a new type of high-beam headlight that Audi and BMW are developing call the Laserlight. Audi currently are using them on their new R18 e-tron quattro racing car, and their Audi Sport Quattro concept car, and BMW feature them on…

  18. illinois Passes New 'Revenge Porn' Law That Includes Harsh Penalties Posted: 12/30/2014 8:11 pm EST Updated: 4 hours ago Illinois became the latest state to criminalize "revenge porn," crafting what its creators hope will become a model for federal legislation. Gov. Pat Quinn on Monday signed a measure making the "non-consensual dissemination of private sexual images" a felony offense in Illinois. The new "revenge porn" law -- so called because the intimate photos and videos are commonly distributed by a former (and often embittered) romantic partner -- goes into effect June 1, 2015, and will punish offenders with one to three years in prison and up to a $25,000 …

A lot of people say that animal testing is cruel and should be banned, but how else would we test products for safety? I feel like more humans would die if certain products were not tested on animals first. Are animal lives worth as much as human lives? What are your thoughts on this debatable subject? I'll tell you what I think, I give more value to human lives. I support testing on animals. We shouldn't torture animals in the process. We should make animal testing as less painful as possible. But we should strive for better medicine and medical treatment.

Ever been in this position? Sure you have. We all have. I honestly cannot stand it when I'm at work or in public. Especially if its someone I personally don't like. They do one thing, They open their mouth. Its not who they are that turns me off. Its what comes out of their mouth. I've had old people that you wouldn't believe are obnoxious. Sure, lets talk about religion and politics. Lets sit and insult someone's sexual orientation or race. Lets sit around and talk smack about everyone. This is where the valuable words of please shut the hell up comes into my book. Some people are just weird. I've listened to people talk and debate politics and how thing…

I have noticed throughout my life that certain people thrive on drama or just stirring up crap for the hell of it. My family has a policy: do not cause drama in the house on purpose. The reason: my ex-stepmother and the BS we went through with her and her kids. She would pick fights with my dad for no reason, and even brought up events that happened months ago that no one cares about anymore. Every time my brother and I got something new, she'd throw a fit or spend bookoos of cash to get her kids something even better than what we got. At one point, we couldn't even get snack items without her taking them and either stashing them herself or giving them to her kid…
