  1. I would think that Valkyria would have an inkling of who Aptom is. Cronos is very aware of Aptom and she was part of Cronos. If records were kept, it's possible that Cronos would know what happened between Cablarl (blarg, belch, barf) and Aptom after the huge shinjuku mess.
  2. Ok, I just realized, that after reading the manga, it will most likely ruin the movie for me. I would think that you should watch the movie first before reading the manga. I've checked the wiki for Edge of tomorrow and it ends somewhat differently from the manga.
  3. This actually started as a light novel way back in 2004. The manga was started last January 2014 and have been concluded just recently. And do note that the artist is Obata Takeshi, the same artist who drew Death Note. I've already read the manga and I currently have the light novels. They do say that the manga is very accurate to the novel.
  4. It doesn't have to be you to do it. Why the heck do we need to look at wikipedia anyway when the information contained in the wiki pages of Japan Legend is the most comprehensive compared to the other sources of information? Wikipedia, despite being hugely moderated, their moderators do not have intimate details of Guyver.
  5. So why am I starting a topic about a Hollywood film in a subforum that is supposed to be for topics related to Japanese Drama/anime/games/etc.? Quite simply, because the movie was inspired from the Japanese light novel, All you need is kill. It also has a manga to it. Despite my abhorrence to Hollywood takes on Japanese franchise, recently I've learned to be a little forgiving of them. Although I have not seen the movie yet, I'm here to talk about the original source. I have to say that it has a great story. On a side note, at least the name change are minimal. To my knowledge, they only changed the name of the main protagonist, from Keiji to Cage, which is kinda close if you asked me. Still kinda iffy seeing Tom Cruise though. And the metal jackets are so fugly.
  6. Reference links in wikipedia? Easy. Point them here.
  7. I mostly remember the word rouge from the song "Lady Marmalade" which was a soundtrack of the movie "Moulin Rouge". Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir
  8. Ant-man (Hank Pym) was a founding member of the Avengers. He can also control ants with his helmet. It's not really the abilities that define Ant-man, but what his intellect can do. Hank Pym discovered the Pym particles which allows him to change his size and shape. And as mentioned, he created Ultron, who created Vision. So in a way, he is Vision's Grandfather. Scott Lang (second Ant-Man), on the other hand, I have yet to see him in action, which would be the main focus of the Ant-Man movie.
  9. I'm looking forward to it. But I'm under the impression that Ant-man will be in phase 3. And I seem to remember that they mentioned the guy doing the voice of Jarvis being cast as Vision. I'm more inclined to think that Ultron will only have a minor role leading to his big reveal in Avengers 3. I mean, we still have Thanos to deal with. And Guardians of the Galaxy has extensive links to Thanos.
  10. Page 17 red font: Sean in Danger!! black text: On his way back from Mizuki's apartment, suddenly, his bike stalled, troubling Sean. Additionally, he stopped at a bad place surrounded by gangs. Sean heard a voice when he was repairing his bike. Upon view, he looks like somebody who has money. At first there was only one gang, but seeing Sean was able to resist, he called on his posse. And among them was his Rival in the Dojo, Craig. With his resolved, Sean went to battle using Aikido. But he was outnumbered. With the gang restraining his body, he received punches and kicks. Sean was taking a beating. In the spur of the moment, from the day bag at the back of Sean, something fell down on the ground. Chasing Mizuki, it was something that he picked up in the riverside. An octagonal object - the Unit! The unit was glowing with an eerie blue light. Like something that you can be entranced with, Sean, while he was down on the ground, picked the object up. In that moment, from behind, one of the gang member gave him a kick. With the unit right in front of Sean's face, touched the control medal in the middle. blue text at middle: Sean really doesn't have an impressive Aikido skills. Being 5 against 1, has was on a one-sided beating. However, having the knowledge of controlling his spirit with Aikido, he was able to control the unit. blue text at bottom: The unit that fell. It was a mystery on how it can be activated, but out of coincidence, it activated!!
  11. Another thing that I liked about this is probably because most of the dialogue is in Japanese. They didn't "westernize" the series and stayed traditional. Since the setting is in Japan, they did a good job maintaining the setting by having most of the characters speak in Japanese.
  12. Well, here's the teaser trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyVO0NLoLWE
  13. So, have any of you guys seen Street Fighter: Assassin's fist? If not, then I would suggest that you do. This is not a hollywood movie. This is fan made, but professionally made, it was even sponsored by a big company. Suffice to say, Hollywood should learn from these guys. It's available on Youtube and I think the whole movie was split into 12 videos of 12 minutes each. Very cool fight scenes, as the actors themselves are martial artists. The effects also looks natural and isn't even showing any signs of it being forced. I mean, it's definitely something that would make fans of the series happy. If you've played the game, you definitely have to watch this. Heck, the dialogue even flows so well and naturally, that you won't cringe when they speak out their attack names. Oh, and this is live-action! FTW!!!
  14. Also from the same source: This issue is a continuation from the previous issue. We somehow feel like we understand the reason Aptom used the freezing ability. Mr. Takaya is stretching the foreshadowing a bit that the story doesn't seem to progress, did he somehow forget the readers during the recovery....no, it's nothing.
  15. Ah, so no Speedwagon in SBR? Well, that sounds kinda off. He's supposed to be in every generation of the Joestar family. I guess this series caters to different types of readers. I can probably say that I never got to read SBR because I never really finished Stone Ocean. After part 3, the series has never really been the same.
  16. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the PSone. For me, it was the best game hands down.
  17. Part 7, Steel Ball Run, was supposedly not part of the story, and it's about a western version of Joestar and speedwagon. A re-imagining so to speak. And then one day, they just decided to slap it as Part 7. And now Part 8 is a continuation of Steel Ball Run.
  18. So can we say that Iron Man has an advance version of a 3D printer that he can whip up a suit of armor in a matter of hours? It was short work when he managed to rediscover vibranium in Iron Man 2. But it still doesn't matter, as we all know how rich Tony Stark is. It is a cool idea though, you design your wheels, and just let the printer do the building for you. If I had that capability, I'd print my own Lamborghini Diablo. A Lamborghini Aventador would be nice too.
  19. There are several options to your questions depends on how you order. Be it ordering the physical book or just pledging, the answer will be the same. The English translated manga will be sent to you in digital form. To be clear, you are ordering the actual book. Or if you have the actual book, just show proof of ownership and the digital file will be sent to you. The group is advocating the purchase of the Guyver Books, whether it is through Japan Legend or through other means. The spirit of the Guyver Advocacy is to own the actual books, and give the book owners the pleasure of reading the books they own in a language they will understand.
  20. That's the problem with shonen manga these days. Two opponents keep on one upping the other. Gone are the days in Naruto where the fights really involve critical thinking, and doesn't really rely on strength alone. They should be outsmarting each other, not beating one another senseless.
  21. I think guyverfan was referring to his experience in building your own car. And since one car has literally thousands of parts, it may come costly to buy the raw materials used for 3D printing instead of buying one outright. I am under the impression that a 3D printer is very costly, as well as the materials you need to print in 3D.
  22. I've read all of it, well, until Stone Ocean (Part 6). Didn't quite like how they portrayed Jotaro as a secondary character seeing that he was the one who finally kicked Dio's @$$ and ended the family curse (sort off). I agree that Stardust Crusaders is one of the best seeing that is the part where they introduce the stand. There were a lot of funny moments and the fight scenes were certainly great. Part 4 was not so good to me, since I feel this is more of a side story. Part 5 was ok, as we are dealing with Dio's (sort of) offspring, Giorno Giovanna. I'm somewhat staying away from part 7 & 8, as this is set in an alternate timeline.
  23. I can't say that it was unexpected. Like all climax, the villains will always achieve their ultimate goal, but will only be short lived due to the intervention of the last remaining hero who is down on his luck. This is looking exactly like a typical shonen manga having the exact same formula. I'm wondering if whether Kishimoto is already running out of materials or his editor is forcing him into that direction. For now, I would give it the ratings of "meh". and since I've followed it this long, might as well see it through to the finish. This is similar with Bleach. But One Piece always surprises me every week.
  24. I would think that there is an exception in that. Perhaps all the countries in the western hemisphere of the world, but might not be applicable to some nations in Asia. The article actually doesn't make sense to me. At least in a business sense. If there are too many cars, why would a company simply write them off? It would be preferable that they sell them off at below cost, at least they would somehow recover their losses. It's common sense, if you can't sell something, better to sell them cheap than throw them away. Not to mention the carrying cost of maintaining such inventory. With that many cars, you need space, and space is not cheap. It does not sound like a proper business practice to me. If companies keep doing that, they would have ceased operations already. There is no way a company could afford the insane salary of a CEO if they keep losing money like that. I feel that the article is biased somehow. I don't think the author is showing the whole picture. Actually a lot of writers manipulate the data to prove their point despite getting the facts skewed. As I always say, take anything from the internet with a grain of salt. A lot of people get in trouble because they believed the wrong information.
  25. I don't know about you guys, but the trend in Asia is different. Car manufacturers over here has an astounding double digit growth. Currently the brands that are being sold over here are Toyota, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Honda, Nissan, Ford, GM and Subaru, which are only some of the most popular brands. Then mix them in with some luxury cars as BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and Volvo. And believe it or not, we also have the china made Chery QQ, and a new one only costs around $4,000. Not to mentioned that all these considering our unemployment rate is above 10%. I think the Japanese car manufacturers are now conquering the automotive market. Probably due to the cost to manufacture them since most of the part came from china. Their cars are also designed to be built less expensive due to the bulk. Mileage may also play a factor. the Honda Jazz is probably one that has the best mileage, with a reported 16km/liter (or 37 miles/gallon). People here change cars like they are clothes. I guess one factor is that some company also subsidizes the purchase of a car. My neighbor just bought a Toyota Altis through his company payable in 5 years, with the company shouldering around 30% of the cost.
