well done for posting these ... although I think im the only one here who is into hip-hop in any kind of way... maybe people will appreciate superman vs. Goku seeing as it has an element of anime!.... and Goku kills it with the Christopher reeves and '' superman that ho'' lines! ooooh! other good battles I would recommend if people don't want to watch them all are hulk hogan vs kim jong , Einstein v hawking, tesla v Edison, MJ vs Elvis , Batman vs. Sherlock holmes, and Jordan vs ali

good point BBdude ...it seems max factory suffers from the same ''make a prototype and don't bother refining it, just release it, no-one will be bothered or notice'' problem as other figure companys... i.e Bandai and their sh figuarts... or in this case they've probably just scaled down the BFC and tweaked some of the joints?... it still looks good but it would be nice if it was accurate!

cool... the one on the left in the middle picture looks kind of familiar... where have I seen that before?....

I must agree with Yuki no one owns anything really only their spirit and you could say that that is borrowed! really anyone with a cat should know they don't own it... a cat graces you with its presence! a cat is being generous to let itself even live with you.... anyway I think Chernaudi was trying to say she is the carer of those particular cats in her house ... cats are wild and have become somewhat domesticated but be under no illusion that they cant take care of themselves. the only ones who can not are the ones who have learnt that behaviour which really is no good for them at all - such as 'house cats' we have a black cat that is 12 years old now, she is a half Siamese, very cheeky and is called Chi Chi... I love cats!

great stuff! where did you find this? is it fan art or something?? its really good. reminds me I drew a Guyver movie head once...to be honest I can not remember why!!? im not sure if it was to be an icon for the site? who knows I cant recall... here it is anyway -

just maybe nov 14 is when the preorders will start?... because it does seem likely they would wait for the 30th anniversary to release it... (would be better if they contiuned BFC max to honour that achievement though!!) where the megasmasher joints maybe good , I don't much like the look of the megasmasher orbs themselves , hope there is more detail on the final product..

im hoping 15cm as that will fit better wth the bfcmax Guyver Gigantic, at 16cm it would be nearly same sizre as bfc g1 so I think its 15cm... and is it true its a nov 2014 release date??? so a small chance of getting it before Christmas then??? excellent!! in fact im just pleased it hasn't disappeared all together!...

on the Suoerman thing , Toriyama freely admits he was inspired by Superman to some degree... I remember we discussed this a few years back in the ''if you like Naruto...'' thread where we were discussing other anime recommendations for Yuki, and we got to plagirisnm vs inspiration due to naruto and dbz and dbz and superman... I think it came down to the fact that if something inspires something greater and isn't a carbon copy then its all good... as for ridiculous training the gravity thing (based on superman? wasn't that the reason for his strength on earth - krypton's gravity was stronger?) was expanded upon, with the gravity chambers etc and took to another level in the time chamber... did superman train to get stronger? - no (not as far as I know) he just rets on his abilities like a gifted slob... wheres the lesson in that???... Goku and the Z fighters are inspirational... try hard and get results... in the past when I was training (tai chi, chi, weights etc.) constantly throughout the day I would keep the efforts of goku in mind, and I will do again in the future when I start training again.... some limits are there to be surpassed until you reach the rubicon of death... but even that didn't stop GOKU for F's sake!! maybe saiyans have some electrical resistance thing going on , as at the end of the day the ki gathered manifesting is usually of our dimension and thus bioelectricity in the physical world, any normal person woukd just burn, fry, blow up if so much electrical energy was introduced into their body, so maybe saiyans can just resist and convert massive amounts of electrical charge without blowing up ... I mean since the Namek sagas they have been releasing the equivalent energy of small scale atomic bombs in power blasts from their palms!!... beyond that if they do have all their physical body open, their chi/ki/ethereal energy pathways and every single major vortexes (chakras) and subtle vortex energy points open then they are virtually a perpetual energy system that would be unlimited, as they would only be limited by the source of that - which is the universe - and that has infinite reserves! it is interesting that in Battle of the Gods the concept of 12 universes is introduced (I dont think is a spoiler as its not done with any great expalantion or with any depth at all ) maybe this has something to do with a toriyama version of string theory, and there is some energy conversion thought in there?... but probably not

ah on a super sentai tip, I also meant to mention that it looks like a fansub group is actually going to finish Abaranger!! they are called imagination station @ http://anotherimaginationstation.wordpress.com/ they say that they were on something like ep 35 before they even started releasing the eps so they knew they could eventually release it all and not disappoint... they've released up to ep 23 so far I think and are releasing weekly. its about time someone did this, so kudos to them!

how long is a piece of string?

I have never watched an ultraman series, which is why I wondered which series maybe a good one to watch... well that's not true actually , now I remember, im about a third way through watching Ultraseven X!... its not what I excpected as its very story driven with minimal action, but it is enjoyable though.
-
whats your favourite Ultraman Bobby? I recently finished watching Kyoryuger. ( I would do a customary end of sentai review but I cant be bothered at the moment - might do it later for my own amusement !) overall it was good and I did enjoy it but there were too many 'filler' episodes along the way... I wish they would just put better effort into the main story so it filled out the episodes more rather than having a slightly weak overall plot and stretching it out so much and filling up the years worth of eps with meaningless ones... but like I said on a whole it was enjoyed .
-
we know its a kid show.. its just in the past it was less dumbed down and better written, so its just a shame now when we do get this kind of off series... all I know is theres about another 30 sentai series i'd rather watch than this. i'll leave this topic now and stop bashing the show, but if you do watch Tokkyuger I hope you enjoy it!!

Edge of Tomorrow (All You Need is Kill)
Aether replied to durendal's topic in Japanese Entertainment
well all sorts of other topics seem to be started in the Japanese entertainment section nowadays that aren't to do with Japanese Drama/anime/games/etc. so why not join the trend... anyway I had no idea this film was based on a manga , that makes me want to see it even more... however now I am conflicted - I feel I should read the manga before seeing the film. -
I saw them in action at the end of Kyouryuger vs. Go-Busters a couple of days ago.... terrible. whats all this colour swapping business?? a good way to get even more cash out of Japanese parents ...that's 25 different combos is it?? wow. apart from that one new angle of colour / power swapping it does seem ... terrible.

well from what you are both saying it does seem that way, which is a big shame really...im still going to give it a go though... ... Personally, I enjoyed part 4 more than some of the other Parts. Kira was a great villain with an awesome stand. I liked Jotaro taking on a more mentorish role in part 4 and his involvement in Part 6.... I will say that part 4 isn't all that bad, its just very different to 1-3... yeah Kira was cool, but it was all the other pointless characters and little episodes along the way (like the chef and the beautician etc.) that got tiresome for me, and made it an effort to get to the end... kind of like 3x3 eyes, I enjoyed the overall story but just so many little jaunts and mini stories that were pointless! - Just get on with the story!!!! I wonder if this is where the concept of ''filler'' was introduced into anime!! lets stick some crap in to bore people - except anime filler isn't even written by the author!...

whoops...
-
I think this sentai is best forgotten, the most ive seen is a trailer and that was awful.... but I just saw this pic and had to comment - WTF?? who okayed this design??
-
Thanks Durendal... glad its not just me who thought part 4 was a bit off... to be honest I liked the ripple stuff better than the stands. the stand is a good concept and spices things up from standard fighting ii suppose, but I just loved part 1 and 2 and the ripple was a big part of that!! (as a side thought I just want to comment out of all the medicos action figures produced for this title why is there no jonathan joestar???!!!!!!!!) part 7 and 8 are an alternate timeline? hmm they can be a bit awkward... I had assumed they were just set in the future or something to continue on the lineage, but anyway... i'll give part 5 and 6 a go and see what I think.

no problem it was simple so ithought i'd help out not sure what you mean above... if you save it to your computer you should be able to use it how you want when prompted to choose a file good luck!

despite the fact this being the second longest running Manga ever ( at 110 tankobons!!!) I had never read or seen any of it until the 2012 tv series came out... and I was instantly hooked... this is old skool manga / anime how it should be up there with hokuto no ken DBZ and Guyver IMHO. I certainly maintain that view for the first 2 parts, Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency... I watched the OAVS of stardust crusaders but was somewhat jaded by the awesomeness of the production of the 2012 series,,, but now Stardust crusaders has been reanimated and is currently being aired (however I haven started watching it yet though) what I wanted to ask if anyone had read the whole series so far, or more than i? I have just finished part 4 Diamond is unbreakable and was less than impressed as it just didn't go anywhere- it might be because theres no Dio, no ripple, etc. but im not sure,,,,so I want to know is the rest of the series as different as part 4 or does it get better again?? I mean its on part 8 now so it cant be that bad right???

well this sounds interesting... yeah the first 2 movies are classics and I loved the Sarah Connor Chronicles, such a shame it had to end...I would love to see it renewed but as it stands it did bridge its timeline to T4 I suppose.. we were lucky Fox let it run and be finished because I remember it was fighting being cancelled anyway. I did see T4 and I cant remember it well but I can remember thinking WTF because one it was Batman and two it just seemed as if John Connor had not only become a badass whoch you would excpect but he'd gone into the league of ridiculously unbelieveable badass with some of the stunts he pulled off. anyway I welcome a rehash of everything just for fun... I guess Arnie will be digitized or something if not I cant see how he'll fit in very well, I mean come on he's looking old - what are they gonna do send him to be Johns Grandad??
