( I cant believe no one else has used that name on the site before??) so it seems that you can 100% confirm its 1985 if you have a copy yourself... that's good to know. it seems that whoever did that auction and the English wikepedia got the wrong year (or pressed the wrong key when typing? ) the first two pics appear to be the same from ebay, but I like the pic of your Guyver shrine! and especially how you have made your shonen captain and tankobon 1 levitate!! very impressive.

ah well at least you responded this time! yeah the IXA design is pretty damn cool I think I liked the original more than the powerd up one... I liked the knuckle driver too and I also find it funny when they just pull the belt from nowhere or it just appears on, I don't know why, I just do. speaking of IXA that's something ive found strange about the KR series is that there are always more than one Rider type person... I just always assumed there would be a lone rider against monsters but I guess it makes it a lot more interesting to have more than one main rider... while i'm here whats the deal with Hibiki??? yay or nay??

ah even if im talking to myself I have to say that I just watched the end of Kiva and its freakin awesome! I think most of what I was wondering was resolved man it was well worth getting through the initial episodes... I must say I only watched this to get it out of the way before other series as I didn't like the look of it much, but I have been pleasantly surprised!! Lordspleach I recommend watching all of it! yes he is weirdly timid ( and annoyingly so up to a point) but he works his way through this and I can understand why he is weird when some things come to light later in the series... it starts to hit its stride about ep 15 I think and the momentum just gets stronger from there I think im gonna have a little KR break start re- watching Garo 1st series and then go for 555

I know im being a bit petty here but ''this MAN is a detective and Kamen Rider!...'' ???, dude looks about 16!! 18 at most - just cause he's tall doesn't make him look old!! I really liked W, so yeah hopefully this will have some of that essence with the crimes to investigate..

I think its pretty safe to say it was 1985... first off that's when shonen captain was first published, and then it makes sense for the first tankobon to be published a year later... and also wasn't out of control produced in 86? I cant imagine a manga getting an oav a month after its been released! oh well it was interesting finding all this out!

Thanks Cannibal! well if Guyver appeared in the first Shonen captain then it must be jan (i.e feb issue ) of 1985... meaning the english wiki is wrong... maybe the seller or /and wiki writer pressed the wrong number when typing !! ? ive emailed them to ask if the date is 85 or 86... if that issue is from 86 the only other explanantion I can think of is if its a reprint of the first instalment, but that is really doubtful... really interesting reading the wiki's as I hadn't realised the long publication gaps... a 2 then 5 year gap? or can I just not trust anything I read on the net any more!! I can kind of forgive Takaya a bit more for the slowness of progression if theres 7 years of work missing!

I don't know I just relayed what was on the ebay page without thinking about it... unless 86 should be 85 on ebay and wikepedia, as in our wiki it says ''In 1985, Tokukan Shoten's Monthly Shonen Captain started serialization of Guyver1985 ...'' on wikepedia it says ''The manga was originally serialized in Tokuma Shoten's Monthly ShÅnen Captain, the first appearance being in the February 18 magazine beginning in 1986''... I have no idea on the exact date when the first tankobon was published, if the serialisation didn't actually start until feb 86 then it cant be march 86.... so all I can says is

I can't believe how different you look, you look way more feminine ! yeah lust vs. attraction is a big deal I guess , I mean if you find someone aesthetically pleasing then lust can kick in with anyone you like the look of as its purely physical, but you can only be really attracted to someone who 'does it' for you I think, that you are drawn to not just through looks... which would be the realness I assume you want to find eventually. oh and after some search engine entries.... I get why youre doing some of those things now!

nearly at the end of Dragonball Kai... just on Goku vs.Cell yeah its good to miss out the filler but I think too much has gone, some parts feel too rushed and its all over so soon!! I also prefer the older music that seemed to be gone from the first half of the series.

I was going to mention caution when we were talking b4, but I just assumed it would go without saying, but its good Biggabertha vocalised (well, typed) it... interesting you opted out of looking for males, its good that you got that bit of knowledge before even going on a date!, another curve maybe!?.. ... tbh I don't blame you, especially with online stuff... nice, is he the dark optimus of the final form in the prime tv series? check this little dude out ES Alloy Cybertron Original Total Commander Convoy very stupidly priced though as it costs as much as the new Guyver at 4800 yen (around $45 / £28)

good question LordSpleach ... im not sure but I do like the look of some of the older ones just because they look more like oldskool transformers, rather than some newer ones that have animal bits and drills and stuff hanging off them... I think I need to see more Sentai to make an informed decision! however Go-Busters were pretty damn cool... well, Dairen oh is from DAIRANGER so it is automatically supremely cool!! I would be interested in seeing your favourite design concepts vs show favourites... I found this picture to try to compare all mechs but it looks as if its missing some of the more recent ones ... hey this is SUPER SENTAI time!! I have not seen Bioman, but I have seen MASKMAN... Ki Ki Aura Power!! while it does suffer from the repetitive tropes of old it was still a good fun show with cool characters and i think the first sentai with a martial arts concept... I also loved it because it gave us a mediating Mecha !

Yes yes yes! Carnival time!!!!!!!! So funny! I just wish that the other Kyoryugers had the chance to go to that particular party… and I don't know how you watched Goseiger . imho it is pap. I haven't watched Gokaiger yet, its the pirates one where they use old powers isn't it? i'm saving that until ive watched a few more Sentai's to lessen the chances of getting anything spoiled... I think we all agree that Go-Busters was certainly cool. the designs, graphics, mechs, bringing back magi yellow!, buddiroids, the characters good and bad, even down to the wing chun style fighting, it was awesome. and also it probably did break away a bit from the repetitive tropes you speak of!...well you cant get away from them completely but it did keep things fresher than some sentai series I think. I haven’t seen any Timeranger… im waiting for a few to be finished being subbed before I watch them including Megaranger and Abaranger , at the rate they are going I think Abaranger will be finished this year but who knows when Megaranger will be finished…

Yes a thread for Super Sentai of course!... Let us rant on about sentai stuff also I’d be interested in which series people like the best and why… as you may or may not have gathered mine is DAIRANGER! So the last Sentai I watched was the end of KYORYUGER which overall I enjoyed Before that I watched SHINKENGER which I thought was pretty cool… at the moment I am watching ZYURANGER… I must say that I tried to watch some of this before I really got into Sentai and I couldn’t do it… But now I find that I am really enjoying it –but it still doesn’t beat DAIRANGER though. Of course without this series we wouldn’t have had Power Rangers… but actually watching it I’ve been questioning whether PR was always destined to be so cheesy as it was aimed at US kids or whether they HAD to change it so much because the original series is just so bizarre?? I mean Bandora ( / Rita in PR I think?? I Don’t know its 20 years since I watched it) is very evil, admittedly very camply evil, but evil nevertheless… I mean she just keeps saying she hates kids, wants to ruin anything they do, routinely chants to the devil and asks the evil spirits of earth to make the monsters stronger / grow..she rides around in the air on a penny farthing style bike and cackles with the worst of them…she even (mildly) tortures kids !! They wouldn’t have got away with this in PR surely?? Zyuranger is a bit whacky, with wizards and forest elves and islands in cupboards and a very creepy kid in a white sheet... but I love this quirky stuff, and also the end theme is the cheesiest sentai theme ive heard yet - but its still cool! I think its downfall (admittedly from a 33 year olds perspective) is that there are too many kids involved in the stories, which isn’t a bad thing, but there is none of that in Dairangers and that was the series after it so they learned that lesson… Ive onlywatched half of it @ ep 25, but I recommend it so far…

can't help with currys i'm afraid... congee really is the method.... just think you end up with something similar to a bowl of gruel / porridge rice, rather than a bowl of fluffy rice.

so aswell as actually releasing the Guyver figure max factory are releasing something else worth buying - Ghost in the Shell STAND ALONE COMPLEX - Motoko Kusanagi at last!! she deserves a decent small scale figure - its certainly taken long enough!

ive only ever had veggie sausages or chicken sausages... one more congee thing - use lots of water! you should have some left over after the long cooking process...also the water is supposed to have healing properties so have a bit with your rice or you can drink it by itself if you fancy it .... aren't century eggs essentially old moldy eggs??? no thanks!

reading your sandwich concoctions makes mine seem tame! I just usually have chicken or tuna with some lettuce or rocket and maybe carrot and beetroot aswell... I use olive oil instead of butter! oh and of course I love a bacon sarni !!!! again on congee the veg or thing you use for flavouring you don't necessarily eat after the rice is cooked you can do if you like I suppose... I tend to just whack a chunk of unpeeled ginger in - so theres no way im eating that!! also Just for no reason I want to point out how serious the Chinese are about this rice stuff as the pictogram / characters they use for ‘chi’ is rice , steam and pot- so a pot of rice, and steam / vapours on top (the waves at the top of the character ) thus all together illustrating cooking rice ...
