I haven't watched any of these videos but I read everything above... in all honesty I think everything what she said is true BUT the comments and sweeping statements about hating ALL white people because of it is just misguided and stupid, but that is her feeling born from her experience as a black person living in America. and no that doesnt make it right but if she and the millions of black people who have grown up with the system set up against them feel disgruntled in coming up against obstacles purely because of their race you can see why they can get there minds twisted into these strange ways of thinking, some people just need something to vent there emotions at even if its not necessarily the right place its no exscuse to be prejudice though they should aim that anger at the government and the financial fatcats and other clandestine forces that are the oppressors she explains racism as '' the system''...so from the get go her semantics are wrong...the system is racist, not racism. the RAW scans for volume 31 were only just released so im guessing you actually mean volume 30?? as the last tankobon done by the Advocacy was vol.29 'Unexpected Guests'.. the tankobon scan for volume 30 is in production because i did the script edit from the inital monthly translations for it a little while ago... i assume it has been passed onto BB Dude and is being typeset (please) be patient , it takes a good chunk of time to edit the script and i would imagine even longer to do the laborious task of typesetting

hello... yes well things like character background and development don't really matter in such a film as Versus... when did you see it? when it came out it wasn't so seemingly generic, what I mean is nowadays it isn't such a stand out film but you have to remember its like 15 years old .. everything nowadays just seems like its been done before... Versus was quite awesome when it came out and still can't be faulted for its action. its just mindless action packed entertainment , nothing more, nothing less. at least someone else has seen it! any Japanese films you can recommend?

well I might aswell post another film .. I rewatched THE RETURNER yesterday… From about 2002 I think it is quite a good sci-fi action film, involving earth at war with aliens, a time travelling kawaii girl and the Japanese equivalent of neo from the Matrix – well he has a long black leather coat and does some fairly nifty tricks in bullet time type situations… Premise of the film is that earth is at war with invading aliens and a solitary soldier girl is sent back to the past to stop the war from ever starting , she luckily hooks up with a chow yun fat type of professional gun toting young man who helps her on her way, the bad dude is funnily deplorable and there is some impressive action sequences (which I suppose back then were quite good , but now I guess all this is kind of standard fare, however it still holds its own)… Overall the matrix it is not, but it is a good film imho, and worth whiling away a coupe of spare hours if you are so inclined to do so. if Versus is a 5 , i'll give this a 3.75

I think the 2005 anime was just fine... I don't think it needed more gore at all, I mean is that really what Guyver is popular for?? I don't think it suffered from being less violent than the OVA.. and c'mon guys - start from the BEGINNING?? AGAIN!!??... PLEASE, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just get on with the storyline for Flips sake!! I want to see past X-day and the Gigantic and XD animated

I am surprised that we have never had a thread specifically about Nippon films… so I’m starting one! if anyone wants to share their thoughts on any Japanese films they may have seen or want to see please do so... To start off I watched VERSUS again Well it was the ‘ultimate versus’ version which has 10 mins extra and (please don’t hate me) an English dub which I watched as I have watched far too much subbed stuff lately… Anyway if you haven’t seen Versus then all I can say is that it is what the phrase ‘manga in motion’ was made for , well crazy story/ ass kicking manga anyway… We have escaped convicts , some cops ,some gangsters and a spooky forrest…The story involves reincarnation, samurais, badasses and zombies so gives the perfect excuse for a lot of glorified killing of zombies in cool ways. Yes obviously it is action packed which equates to a lot of violence, but I actually forgot how gruesome some bits of this film are …I mean its not a serious horror film or anything, but when I say gruesome I mean like people punching holes in heads and internal shots of the aftermath of that… quite silly and overtly graphic but done in that kind of b- movie way so its not too disturbing (however if I watch it again I know which bits to turn away at!! ) All of this is actually done quite tongue in cheek as there are various comedic moments spread throughout that levels out the violence and creates a strange but cool vibe to it all… There has been a demand for Versus 2 from just about everyone who has ever seen it but it still hasn’t manifested yet after 14 years…. Watch out for Kenji Matsuda from KR Kiva and Garo: Makai Senki who plays an excellent crazy mob character Overall all i'll just say that its pretty damn cool.

I missed this thread before and im deffinately going to give this a watch! thanks not a hardcore street fighter fan but ive always like the charcaters,.. ha come to think of ihe last game I ever really played was street fighter 2 alpha ex on the ps1 !! hey Scottman training twice a week is better than no training at all!

not watched it entirely but it looks good and bad at the same time...the heroes designs are excellent but overall its far too cheesy.. I think if someone was to go this far they may have aimed for a slightly older audience or made it more sophisticated / less power ranger like, but kudos to them as it seems cool for what it is

well lets face it the net is like a weapon or anything else it has potential for good or bad, its how one uses it...and that comes down to the fact we are all different - if we were all saints it wouldn't even be an issue unfortunately despite its good aspects for learning , sharing media and in a social way (facebook n all that jazz that I don't use) there is the mind numbing crap that absorbs people and then theres copious amounts of 'normal' porn and then the real darkside of the predators apart from the (sort of) annonimity its really no different to the real world - its like durendal said you can only really read people in real life - and even then not always accurately... only way is to police it better I suppose, but that's easier said than done...things like these sick bastards stalking kids on online gaming is a bit more difficult, but why they cant set something up to instantly detect and identify these people using the vile criminal porn is beyond me. once again im not the best to discuss this with as I don't really have any online presence anyway! ive expressed myself and so now I will shut up

ive now read part 5 - Vento Aureo and what a pleasant surprise after the kind of pointless part4 the adventure of Giorno Giovani was like bill and ted's - EXCELLENT!!! it did something and went somewhere and wasn't pointless, i really enjoyed it... this has me wondering what they will do with the TV series - will it continue after part3 ?? I cant see part 4 doing aswell but it would be a shame not to animate part 5 as its so much better...but I cant see them skipping part 4... guess we'll just wait and see

ah that sucks that it fell through... but you have to question that if they didn't want to clarify they were who they said they were, then why not?? even if it was just 10 seconds on skype to say '' hi I am real ''... I don't think that is unreasonable in this day in age... if they were genuine surely they would have understood your view and wanted to protect there own interests aswelll? I don't know how those things work so im not much use here as for the rest of it I really don't know either! the only place you will be 100% safe is with trusted people you know in your community, other than that there is no certainty and its all a leap of faith... I will say that the internet can be safe and the streets can be safe - you just have to pick the right sites and the right streets! in real life people are also not what they may seem but you can sometimes get a vibe from those people, which of course you cant readily get over the net... on the net i'd say obviously you can express yourself here!!! but for other ventures just be careful and experiment with sites - someone out there will be of the same mind as yourself and you wont seem overly cautious to them, and in real life maybe try and meet people who are into the same things as you in a safe environment - like at some kind of classes you might take, etc.?... probably useless and obvious but that's just my 2 pennys worth...

finished Zyuranger... it remained enjoyable enough, but again like some other sentai it fell a bit short of what it could have been... haha, ive got to say it - Dairanger is much better!

im sure they'll do SOMETHING for the 30th anniversary, its just a question of what scale... could be anything from a postcard with tank no.32 to a new tv series... who knows?!??! Keep the hope alive!

from a long time guyver fan like yourself since '94, all I can say is keep trying... I don't think its all on the fans its just we live in avery different time than when Guyver came out... to begin please dont knock DBZ or Naruto!! yes DBZ is pointless fighting but its awesome and Naruto is also awesome. DBZ is one of the things along with Akira that got me into manga in 92 and Naruto surpassed that as my favourite as it is more complex etc. and I suppose is this generations dbz... anyway... im not so sure what some of what you are on about with regards to Guyver is within the realms of possibility - comic book films don't equate manga/ anime films.... if Akira and Evangelion haven't been made yet then a big budget Guyver film is well off the cards, yeah DB got a film but it was crap in comparsion to its source material... our best hope is Steve Wang again or someone trying with that 'starter' thing or whatever it is and also 7 tv series!!??? I think series 2 (@26 eps) would take us up to the end of exceed long night vol 25... ( so want to see XD animated!!) and then after that it would depend on where the series goes next im not trying to be negative just realistic - I respect your enthusiasm and love for the Guyver... first and foremost Guver is manga and on that issue my realistic opinion is here http://www.japan-legend.com/forum/index.php/topic/7267-the-spectrum/page-4 post # 72 ive tried to inititate a couple of things in the past from email campaigns to maxfactory to new petitions on the site but there just doesn't seem to be that much interest to be brutally honest I just think we are lucky Guyver is still being published ...it has ceased publication twice before and if it were to do so now im not sure it would come back... any initiative to boost guyver sales I would think would come from an anniversary again and if there were any plans for the 30th year anniversary they would have been made by now and we may be pleasantly surprised next year (fingers crossed!!!!!!) with maybe tv series season 2 or an artbook (or getting takaya more staff so he can pump out more pages!!!) etc. there is the new Figma figure being released which is one positive at least !!! wow a safe for nerd stuff!?? i'd like to see a cat burgalars face when he cracks your safe and finds shonen captain feb 1985 and a copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 etc. and hasn't a clue what they are!! Some good pics of the shonen captain would be cool... also If possible i would like to see a good scan of the title page ( the 2nd pic you posted) as for translating Durendal and Yuki are in charge of that department , im sure if they have the time they might help you out...
