On the amazon listing it does mention 'restart'. This suggests that this artbook may be part of a marketing campaign for the return of Guyver serialisation.

That is a very informative video. I'm a little bit dumbfounded that they produced such smoothness with the stock joints. Those things are generally not very user friendly in terms of getting them where you want and keeping the rest of the figure in the pose you want. I have a feeling there is more to it than just that, something going on behind the scenes, but I don't know what. In any case, I have to hold my hands up, my animation degree was over a decade ago now and I didn't specialise in stop motion, my speciality is in game asset production. Whatever they do with it, is very impressive how smooth it is, they have a good process.

Yeah 24fps is certainly a lot more work than 8. Since they copied the animations from the videogame in points, they had to match whatever that is. For a longer freeform animation, it's really hard to use a high framerate. I think we'd all love a smoother framerate to be honest, it's always more comforting to watch. A note on the figures, it would be near impossible to get anywhere near smooth animation with standard figma, they also have to rebuild the joints and that does take experience to learn how to do it, so I imagine the streetfighter animation is more experienced in that regard?

amazing!! You definitely would have a problem preordering from kadokawa because they ask for a Japanese address when trying to sign up. Best to try Amazon https://www.amazon.co.jp/高屋良樹画集-強殖装甲ガイバー-イラストレーション-クロニクル-角川コミックス・エース/dp/4041132649/

It's a different style, static camera and very simple movements. Also a number of moments where the character has no weight. Looks to me that they also simply mimicked the animation frames from the street fighter game in places which certainly makes it easier to get it smooth, this is kind of like rotoscoping. Yes it looks smoother because of these factors, the guyver animation is unique camera movement and angles, which is really hard, and the characters have unique movement. I think it's unfair to look at that and suggest it's not as good. to be sure, we can all have our own likes and tastes and preferences, I'm just looking at that guyver animation and see some incredible skill and hard work. It deserves high praise IMO.

I think Rotten Tomatoes users are generally more generous with their scores for some things. It is weird how the scores differ across the different review sites, with metacritic having it's highest scores in the 8's and Rotten Tomatoes having it's highest scores in the 90's. It's possibly due to how the score interface is presented to users, with Metacritic offering a straight 1 to 10 with a traffic light system, but Rotten Tomatoes offering a 5 star option with half stars available.

83 is not that good for a rotten tomatoes score. The scores may say something but the financial performance says a lot more. Quantumania had the biggest drop off out of all MCU movies so far.

Maybe it's to aid removal to have the exposed face version?

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Once & Always
Tora Tan replied to jerrygoodman's topic in General 'whatever'.
I totally agree, but they do have Rocky and Kat and Adam is somehow involved too. Now I am not really a fan of those as I feel they are usurpers, but it does sort of fill the brief. It's a sort of reunion but not a proper one. -

Unfortunately, he wasn't on good terms with the people making this so he didn't take part. Neither did Austin st John or Amy Jo Johnson. Austin stJohn had legal issues and Amy Jo apparently wasn't offered enough money? -
wow! That is fantastic!!! I can't even imagine the kind of rigging they had to set up for that, especially the aerial battle parts. I loved the destruction of the box interior too, that was very cool and irreversible so it had to be done right first time! Some incredible talent there, the characters really emoted well and had a good weight to them.

Those links do not really look very trustworthy. can you post your images in a different way please? Otherwise I won't be viewing them. -
I've seen it and I regret it. Antman 1 and 2 are fun films with good comedy. It's like they set out to make a serious MCU film then realised it was too serious and decided to try and inject some antman style humour into it, but it completely undermines what was there... Then they added what has become common MCU tropes into it... I don't want to do this any more. I reflect on the guardians holiday special and the past couple years of MCU products and I don't even think James Gunn could have managed to create something of beauty and purity. I think I may be done.

I do agree there. it would be nice to see Grant Gustin again. I didn't like the tv series past season 2, but I liked that version of Barry. Also, it's possible that Henry Cavill is in it but they keeping it as a surprise... or maybe this is a case of superheroes disappearing, sort of like he says in the trailer "I made a world without metahumans".

This is the first DC movie that I've felt really positive about. this looks crazy interesting!

oh my god that would be absolutely terrifying!!! I just never realised how dangerous Kang must be. I see him as a human, just a human, but then I guess he has all technology going on, so it makes sense. I'm going to look forward to what we get in this upcoming movie. I'll be there on release day as usual.

That is rather visceral dialogue. In terms of Marvel movies, that is possibly the most scary line I can think of.
-
could be his strong connection with Cassie? I think that's the only think unique to him.

the first trailer inspired me more. This new trailer makes me feel a little underwhelmed. Still going to watch it of course.

I'm so glad they seem to be continuing with the character stories, but I hope they are toning down the fan service and franchise building.

went to see the movie today. was mostly enjoyable, very enjoyable actually, but there was an element that I felt detracted from it.
I feel like Riri wasn't a very well developed character and felt out of place. There was no sense that she really had any challenge creating her machines, it was just like; need a thing, make a thing. It made her feel somewhat like a mary-sue. Her inclusion in the finale also seemed to make it all feel quite jumbled. There was A LOT going on and I felt the individual elements lacked impact as a result. I feel like this movie would have been better if the ironheart aspect of her character was relegated to the background. After all, we are going to be getting Armour-wars, surely we will see her in a much better light when that comes out?
I did like Shin Godzilla so it could be my kind of thing I'll see if I can fit it in ^^

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

This looks great. I love the idea of seeing these characters in such a familiar everyday environment. As long as they do it sparingly of course. I hate what they did with Thor.
