how do you have your tea?(or other hot beverage)
ErutanXiku replied to Jess♥'s topic in General 'whatever'.
I just tried Bubble Tea last night! I love it! I met up with a few friends and we had dinner in China Town while planning our trip to Hong Kong in September. The place I had it was at one of my friends buddie's tea shop - they also have desserts and light snacks. I'm not sure if it could be called 'tea'...I had the Honeydew flavour...it really reminds me more of like a thin milkshake but with ice and tapioca pearls...but then I couldn't see how they made it lol, but it was really nice. I'm looking forward to trying more in Hong Kong as my friend tells me that there's lots more places -
Wow! I never knew this thread existed! I've had some good laughs...will definitely finish reading this later (14 pages!) For now, I would like to share something I had a majority input in creating...the Spider-Man theme re-written to suit Gambit (it's totally over the top, but go with the humour) Spanky-Man Spanky-man, Spanky-man Can't do anything a spider can Spanks whatever he thinks he can Cats, dogs even garbage cans Look out! Here comes the Spanky-man! Is he suave? Listen bud, He's got ragin' Cajun blood. Can he swing from a thread? No but he'll swing right into your bed Hey there, There goes the Spanky-man. In the chill of the night, With a girl in his sights, Like a streak of a light, He spanks and takes flight. Spanky-man, Spanky-man, Raunchy neighbourhood Spanky-man. Charm and cash; He's adored, Getting laid is his reward. To him, life is just one big wank, That's why he likes to spank, So they call him the Spanky-man!

Guess it's a good thing I completely skipped it But does it really not add anything to the story or Gundam-verse? There have been a few titles I've been planning to re-watch, like Outlaw Star and Virus Buster Serge. Outlaw Star is an odd one...I enjoyed it, but I don't remember it being the masterpiece that most people I come across cite it to be. I remember it was enjoyable, but certain aspects of it I didn't quite like. -
I honestly meant to reply to this sooner, but I felt it warranted further thought, and found that I couldn't really add anything else to the discussion. V Guyver, what you have said is a more detailed version of what I strongly believe. I don't just believe that Humans are the only beings to possess a "Soul" - all life possesses one because they exist and are "Alive". Humans aren't the only ones to possess 'thought' either - animals clearly do also as they can learn and adapt; their language just happens to be different. They also feel pain and emotions, but again we just can't understand each other verbally, much like adult Humans can't understand a person who speaks another language or (for an example of a language we still haven't learned) even Human babies. What Ryuki said is interesting, though I must admit it took me a few times going over it to have it make sense to me But I think it's safe to say that I understand what you're suggesting. All this talk has given me a rather interesting idea for a novel...*sigh* That's another one to add to my "To Write" list...I told my brother about my ideas, and for some reason he always says they're scary, even though they're not horror, but I understand what he means, hehe. Durendal, that poem is quite thought-provoking

I started watching Code Geass - interesting first episode...though pacing seemed a little fast :/ To rewind a little, the only Gundam I've seen is Gundam Wing and Endless Waltz, which was aired on CNX many years ago I really enjoyed watching them for the action (loved the Mech battles!) and drama aspects, but now that I'm older, perhaps I'll appreciate it more as a whole for the more political and finer aspects. I meant to pick up Gundam SEED and acquired a few episodes, but ultimately never watched them because they were part of a bigger universe that I only remembered a fraction about. So, I plan on watching the series in its entirety at some point. Along with Macross...one day. Right now, I am also acquiring Tytania, which is written by the man behind my two first and favourite anime's. -
PSN Account: HameedSSM Current Games: Marvel vs Capcom 3 White Knight Chronicles Super Street Fighter IV BlazBlue Continuum Shift Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 I'm usually online during the weekends or Monday evenings...I miss the days when I could play for hours on end.

Wow...that is weird o.O I've had that happen to me a few times too, but thought it was because I clicked the wrong part of the link or something :/ If the author happens to have any questions or comments, I'd be happy to help further - feel free to put them in contact with me or something. They can PM me on FF.net, if they like

True, but as you said it is a matter of opinion and as such one's interpretation of what is "Divine" is not necessarily the same as someone else's. The common meaning of "Divine" relates to God and his work, however, for me it's the belief that the world itself has a deeper plan. Everything, no matter how insignificant we think of it, is in balance and that is itself "Divine" to me. I don't think it's done to a plan dictated by a disembodied "Higher Power", I find it fascinating that even if our existence is an elaborate accident, that under normal circumstances this Planet of ours is in balance. Everything that exists upon it works to maintain it. There is surely something Divine and Beautiful in how it all works. Going deeper, have you heard of the Divine Number/Golden Ratio (1.618)? It, apparently, exists everywhere - from the arrangement of branches on a tree to the branching of the veins and nerves of all animals. Even underlying the clock cycles of our brainwaves. In the case of the Religious Soul, this is where Daemons come in. Since Science hasn't attempted to fully explain the Soul - I highlight a marked difference in explaining how we operate day-to-day and what operated us before we had the awareness to - their take is the more logical one that is backed up with quantified evidence; that changes in personality are due to certain parts of the brain being damaged that otherwise played a part in regulating our behaviour. So, YoungGuyver, if you don't mind me asking, what is your take on a non-spiritual theory for the Soul? As I have said, I don't think the Soul is who I am now - the "awareness" of my conscious self. It would be nice and to be proven wrong in the end, that I am a spiritual entity inhabiting this body, but I don't believe that...I just believe it is something there, from the beginning and it's probably locked within the subconscious - with it our bodies are allowed to live and develop, without it our bodies die. People in a coma or life-support still possess it as their bodies continue to function. I know you can say that they're kept alive because of the machines, but then what about in an operating theatre? If it was the machines that kept them alive, then why can't they keep a body that has already stopped alive? Surely it's all about shooting in a voltage of electricity before the brain completely switches off (it's been said that it still fires signals for some time after "Death") and stimulating the heart to pump again? I guess this is why a Spiritual argument is also more favourable, and perhaps it is true - that were all spirits controlling puppets.

Funnily, my brother was put off Sushi because - against my advice - he'd buy the ready-made stuff from Tesco, until he got food poisoning and vowed never to eat the stuff again. When I took him to a Japanese Restaurant on my birthday last year, he gave the Sushi a go because I wanted some (so if he didn't like it, at least I was there to eat it) and he's been hooked since...now I have to be prepared to shell out for main dishes and Sushi Selections So, I don't think you should completely rule out Eragon, Ryuki...perhaps you should go back to it at some point? I could easily be put off by the Sword of Truth books because of Legend of the Seeker, but rather I'm glad the TV Series was axed. It ruined so much of the story and made up its own shoddy rules - now all I'm mad at is how the author ruined his characters completely. I wasn't really interested in Eragon so never picked it up...as far as 'Dragon Stories' go, I'm reading Temeraire right now since a colleague gave it to me. It wasn't her cup of tea, but I'm trying to broaden my reading horizons...and so far, I've discovered a favourite: Busy Woman Seeks Wife - predictable, but not what you'd think it's about. It's about a workaholic woman who has no time to take care of her house when her housewife-friend suggests that she "hires a wife" to take care of the place while she's not in town. A woman with no domestic sense takes the job because it pays well, but pursues her own career and gets her more domesticated brother to fill in. I wouldn't worry about being too old to read Harry Potter - that's why they have "Adult Cover" Versions Though, I own them all with the Children's Covers. I was about 14 when the first book came out, which put me in my late teens/early 20's when the last one was released I liked it in the beginning, but it just started to disappoint me after the fourth book and I really disliked the ending. For a moment, I thought the Ranger's Apprentice was an alternate title for the Assassin's Apprentice - a series that I quite liked, but never got around to finishing...(puts on "To Read" list). But after researching, my assumption was wrong...what is the Ranger's Apprentice about? Another book series I'm quite fond of is the Redwall Series by Brian Jacques. It's aimed at young readers and the cast is all anthro-animals, but the writing's really good.

I thought when writing the script for the movie, she preferred River Phoenix for the role, but the director (or someone) cast Tom Cruise instead, which she didn't like? That said, perhaps that's why Interview with the Vampire was better as a movie than Queen of the Damned - the script for the former was written with Anne Rice's input. Regarding having written the Vampire Chronicles (book series) with Tom Cruise in mind...wasn't he like 14 when the first book was released, thus a "nobody" at the time? I did a bit of reading on the workings of the Universe - nothing story-related - and it seems like it was the complete inspiration for the Twilight Series. Practically everything about the Vampire Chronicles was lifted by Twilight. I'm not sure how I feel about certain elements of the Universe, but I'll see what I can do about grabbing a copy of the first two books from my library. As for Edward Cullen...any vampire can kick his ass - even Count Duckula!
-
Actually...I have more respect for Anne Rice than I do Stephenie Meyer. For one, she's a more accomplished author and I've always been meaning to give her Vampire Chronicles a read, just never got around to it haha. I did like the Interview with a Vampire movie, but since I haven't obviously read the book I can't compare...only watched a few minutes of Queen of the Damned and didn't like it anyway :/ Had no idea the two were related, until I saw the books on a shelf next to each other... The book I've been searching for isn't a Classic...it's a Fantasy novel, but I'll describe it just in case. It tells the story of two people - one is a girl who is the daughter of a Sheikh and a Water Nymph he took as a mistress one time, as such she's beautiful but has blue skin; hair and eyes, and can't stay out in the Sun too long. The other person is a middle-aged Elven male who is a bounty hunter or something...I read a few chapters in, up to where the girl was having a marriage proposal from a neighbouring tribe, but don't know how the two separate characters become connected :/ I was reading it during my exams, which is why I never got to finish it. The cover of the book is split - the left half is the face of the Sheikh's daughter and the right half is the Elven male. What interested me about the book was the role of the Elf - he was different from the usual stereotype :/
-
Your silence on the matter is making me nervous... You don't have to reply, but I was just wondering if you had any comments on this :/ Would it have been better if I put this on the author's FanFiction.net? I don't know why I didn't, strangely, it never occurred to me. I was in the mindset that you had asked for the feedback so I should report back to you...however, you did say that this wasn't your story...

Looks like it's my turn to revive this thread I've read a range of books - it's one of my favourite past-times, when I have the time anyway. I've mainly read stuff that interest me like Crime; Mystery; Fantasy; Sci-Fi...Most are usually one-shot titles like The Blooding or Eastend Murders, but a few series titles I've read are: The Sword of Truth Series - I have two more books to go...I think. I really like it, but it seems to be struggling and I hate how selfish some of the characters have become - complete opposites to how they used to be in the beginning. But despite my negative feelings, I plan on finishing it out of principle and to see how it ends. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Still have to read The Hobbit; Children of Hurin and the Silmarillion...but I loved the trilogy, despite being a little too heavy on the details... The Shannara Series - I think I might have read all three parts of the first arc; The Sword; The Elfstones and The Wishsong. Yeah, I'm sure those make up the first arc. I loved it and have been meaning to read the rest. Thomas Covenant; The White-Gold Wielder - Again, I've only read the first three books that make up the first arc. There are 6 more to go through, but I also enjoyed this series. Broken Sky - This is a set of Anime-Style books. They were quite good and interesting, but I hated the ending. The author was a fan of Anime and decided to write a series that reflected that, and so he had an illustrator do character designs and cover art in Anime-influenced Western style. Aside from that, I've read bits and bobs from other authors. The following are on my reading list (currently in my possession): Too Close to Home No Time for Goodbye White Tiger Change of Heart The Post-Birthday World Temeraire And a whole bunch of others I can't remember right now. I'll update this post later. Oh! I've read some Classics such as Dracula; Jane Eyre; Wuthering Heights and maybe one or two more...I really should pick up more classic titles. Also, have read To Kill a Mockingbird and most of Shakespeare's works; some Stephen King and I was an avid fan of the Point Horror and Goosebumps series of books as a kid. I've read one or two Animorphs books - whatever my school library had. Currently, I'm trying to hunt down a book that I was reading in my Secondary School but never finished, and I can't remember what it was called. I remember the cover quite vividly and I remember some of the elements from the story, but I just can't seem to track it down...Also, I've been meaning to finish reading the Sunrunner Series...that one book I read was quite good, and I've been meaning to give Anne Rice's works a look. I was convinced to read Twilight and I hated it - I disliked it before I read it, because I skimmed it while working at my previous job which was in the books department of a shop in Heathrow. I hate the movie as well, though I admit it was worse than the book. Jasper did not look at all as I imagined he would - he looked quite creepy, despite what his powers are. I tend to think it sounds like a Shoujo Manga - it would have worked better that way, but I'd still hate it. Not so interestingly, it has been made into a "Manga" but I disagree completely with the art style chosen, as it is based on the movie's actors.

New Trailer! I certainly am going to watch this. It's going to be hard not to, since it's likely that my brother will remind me everytime it's on...like he does with Young Justice

hope im not coming accross as attacking your thoughts because thats not what im trying to do On the contrary, your words had quite an impact in that I remember feeling the same way about everything before I became who I am now. Not saying that you'll end up like me, but I respect and recognise your opinion and I understand it because I shared them at one point As for everything else you said, true. You don't need to know how things work for it to happen/exist/be a possibility. That's enough for most people who just accept things as they are, but then you have the inquisitive minds who, as you know, ask "Why?" These people are just not satisfied until they have a quantitative answer to explain something that otherwise is accepted to be "just is". I am perhaps one of those people, to an extent. When I can't find an answer, I leave it be, otherwise...I would like to know the reasons for why certain things happen, and the more complex it is, the more I'm convinced of a higher power at work. Regarding Astral Travel, with my theory, it may work, but then its just something I think about for entertainment. You may be right in that we do have the ability to unlock the hidden secrets and potential within ourselves, but think about it for a minute. You may not agree with me on this, nor accept it, I don't mind, but this is my reasoning: Our subconscious is a very complex part of our brains. It's locked away from us and governs everything that we do naturally, like breathing and regulating our heartbeat. If these important tasks were left up to our conscious selves, we'd have to remember to do it. Also, the subconscious knows what it needs for the body to survive. Our conscious selves may not consider eating certain things, like the eyes of an animal, but with no other option, the subconscious will make it appear appetising and we'll eat it for the nutrients we need to ensure our survival. These are examples to facilitate my reasoning as to the subconscious being more aware of ourselves than our conscious selves are. Thus, I believe that only the subconscious knows the true extent of what we're capable of, but because we're too immature to use our full abilities responsibly, these secrets are locked away until we as a species are worthy for the keys, and until then the subconscious protects our individual beings for fear that given the knowledge too early, we may cause severe harm to ourselves and everything around us. This lock isn't only imposed on Humans, but is also placed upon animals, though certain animals have abilities that we would deem unnatural because we can't do them, like regrowing limbs or switching genders. Could you imagine the chaos that would ensue because there are those who would misuse these abilities? My theory on Atoms earlier - I figure I may as well go into it - started out as a simple idea on Humans being able to one day harness the natural bio-electricity generated by our cells. Doing so would grant us electrical-based powers, or perhaps allow us to regulate the burning of excess energy. Then, thinking about it deeper, we're all made up of Atoms, so if we can harness the energy in our cells, then surely we could manipulate the countless number of Atoms that make up those cells? Doing so would give us an even greater range in the possibilities of phenomena that we could create, such as creating fire without fuel or changing the properties of objects...perhaps even changing the nature of our bodies. However, that in itself is dangerous because of all the different ways one could harm/destroy themselves and their surroundings, and so we have these limitations placed upon us. I know...sometimes I wonder what the hell kind of trip I'm on, but it makes for good Sci-Fi talk :/ Anyway, not that I'm bothered by it...but I'm very bad at keeping this topic on track...If anyone wants to discuss the whole Atom theory in more depth, I'd be happy to start a new topic on it, or feel free to do so yourselves I apologise for side-tracking too much.

Oho! Ow, I felt that one! XD I never said you had to like my theory on Ghosts/Spirits/Alternate Realities, I just put it out there to highlight what helps me sleep at night since I don't believe in Ghosts/Spirits. I don't need one more thing to be afraid of in my life - yes, I'm a creature of convenience. I am curious though, what did your original draft entail? As for what "charge" is (I realise we're going off topic, but it'd be rude to just ignore it) I'm under the impression that it has no definite Scientific Property/Value, but is a term to describe the state of an Atom, i.e. if it has more electrons than it should, it is negatively charged. As for the source of the vibration - Atoms vibrate due to the presence of energy, the more energy there is the more violently they vibrate and they begin to collide with each other to make new substances. The source of this energy could be anything; present from the Earth or the light from the Sun. It's been a few years since I've had to think about all of this and my Physics is a little rusty, so if I'm mistaken anywhere, I'll rectify it once I get through the research. Regarding the Higgs Boson, isn't that just to prove the theory that all Matter has Anti-Matter? I think it came about because of Quarks - they exist, but are too small to measure the matter of and so they need to prove the existence of the Higgs Boson to enforce that...? Again, despite having read about this a few times, the information still likes to wander off...Scientists are a tedious bunch, but hey, they need something to occupy their time with and yeah, it may lead to new breakthroughs that will ultimately aid or destroy us, based on who pulls the strings. --- Now, time to get back to the original programming... I agree, this statement is good, but it's natural argument is to turn it against itself. If a person is born deaf, thus never being able to experience sound, does that mean that they can never understand how sound works? I'm not saying that Science can quantify everything. I did highlight that whatever Science may say to explain the Soul, will be disproven without the proper thought, as there are phenomenena like ESP; Telepathy; Astral Travel etc. that may not be taken into account when forming Scientific theories. Though, once again, I have my own theory on this and I doubt you'd like it since it's suited to my needs and helps me sleep at night, because again...I don't need something else to fear But bottom line, I do believe in ESP; Telepathy; Astral Travel...all those things that can't be explained, but I don't have a Spiritually-based theory to support it. Rather, it's based on the idea that there are hidden secrets to the brain that we haven't evolved to the level of unlocking yet, as well as a smidge of my Atomic-based theory that I alluded to in my earlier post.

(I apologise, but this is going to be a long post.) Very interesting...I know this is a difficult topic, and I'm not looking for an easy answer. This is something that can be debated on for infinity, until someone finally figures it out...but I doubt it's something anyone will ever know. It just interests me, since the existence of the Soul is considered a Spiritual belief enforced by Religion, but Atheists don't believe in Religion (or a Soul for that matter, as perhaps admitting there may be such a thing somehow infers that you are Religious) however...there is definitely something unexplainable within us. I guess I should make this clear, but the definitions as pertains to me (since I brought it up) are as follows: Soul - The unexplained entity within us. Spiritual - The belief that there is a higher power, not necessarily God, but follow no Religion or don't practice it. Perhaps this is really Agnostic? But what makes me not label it as such, is that Agnostics infer the possibility but fall back and say that nothing's for certain. Being Spiritual, in my definition, is knowing/accepting that there is something out there, but unless you follow a Religion or actively practice it, your belief isn't Religious-based. Religious - Beliefs based on the Religion you follow. Religion gives us the easy answer - the Soul; we are all Spiritual entities inhabiting Physical Vessels. However, this doesn't satisfy me as it only explains consciousness and the reason for our awareness. It also takes it that step further to be a lullaby; to make us feel better about death in that when we die, we pass on into the afterlife - Heaven; Hell or Purgatory. For some, the Soul is reincarnated until it reaches a level of enlightenment that makes it elegible to enter Paradise - whatever your faith, it promises that you will live on eternally since not doing so frightens us. This is why so many people are desperate to leave a mark; some proof that they existed...I'm no different. Science gives a slightly more complicated answer, but again it explains consciousness and our present states. I accept the Scientific view - it does more to explain what we are and the complex network of cells that make us up. I accept that the reason I like a particular flavour of ice-cream is down to how my sensory receptors relay the message to my brain and set off the synapses and promotes the release of the appropriate "feel good" neurotransmitter. Though, what interests me about this example is other people - if we both eat the same thing and they both taste the same, why might our reactions be different? Is it down to genetics or upbringing? I, in particular, do not like the feeling of Suede fabric, but have known people who love it. But that's besides the point. Science can't explain the Soul. It can explain what we are in our present states, but not what the Soul is. I don't think the Soul is what it is in the Religious sense either - if they were divine entities, then surely they wouldn't be capable of evil acts and wrongdoings; everyone would have more respect for each other. Behavioural Psychology explains a lot of the reasons behind the things we do. For me, as stated in the opening post, the Soul is something from the very beginning. The "Spark" that switches us on...where it comes from is the question. For a long time, I believed that the Soul was the way people depict it in TV - a Spiritual representation of our present selves. But my thoughts changed when I watched a documentary on Head Transplants. It's hard to tell if the animal was the same as it was before the transplant, since there's no way to tell if it liked the same things or not (assuming the Soul really is Spiritual). Obviously, for ethical reasons, they haven't done it on Humans yet...as far as anyone knows. At the root of it, I'm not asking for a definite answer. Perhaps, I phrased it wrong, but if you don't believe in the Religious Soul, then how do you explain the "Spark"? How do you explain that fundamental difference, between those that make it and those that don't? Foetuses all develop in the same way; some are completely healthy throughout, but what causes the Spark to never occur, despite being the union of two cells that contain their own electrical energies, that were healthy enough to unite in the first place? That's something that can't be explained, but surely it points to the presence of something? The cells can create the heart and the brain, but something has to tell it to do its job - the brain, which governs our bodies in life, didn't govern our development at conception. Regarding electricity and what it is, I was under the impression that Science had explained it. It's the movement of negatively charged atoms attracted to positively charged ones? Or is that just my interpretation of what it is based on what Science has given us? That leads me onto another line of thought that I've been entertaining, but it's for a completely different topic... As for the presence of Ghosts/Spirits...you have to believe in that for it to apply, and I don't...well not really. But then, there are so many things that will be left unexplained and will denounce any non-Spiritual argument, like people who claim to have past lives and out of body experiences... Though I have an interesting theory that involves String Theory/Multiple Realities. I will deviate from the subject just for this - based on these theories, our Reality inhabits the same space as all other Possible Realities, and thus each one quite possibly developing at different rates. Thus, at the time our present is occurring, an event in the past (or future) of our timeline is also occurring in another Reality. Our brains have hidden potential, and perhaps there are those who are more sensitive than others to these kinds of things, but perhaps the "Ghosts/Spirits" one may speak of are actually visions of the Alternate Reality where the deceased still exist? The accounts I've most often heard, have ghosts/spirits repeating the same actions they did in life. This would also, perhaps, explain the "deja vu" sensation... Of course, that's just my unfounded theory. If this piece is too distracting, I'm happy to put it in another thread?

All this talk about God and Religion in my other thread reminded me of the time I was having a discussion with a colleague at my previous place of employment. The guy was great; he was great to talk to, very experienced about the world and had a military background. He was great company and I loved talking to him about anything philosophical and learned a lot from him. I can't remember what made us get onto the topic; he was born and raised Catholic but renounced his faith and became an Atheist through his personal experience. I asked him that fair enough, he doesn't believe in God, but what was his opinion on the Soul since both are pretty much hand in hand. He said that there was no Soul; it's all chemical/electrical firings in the brain. Now, I have a great faith in Science. I believe that Science and Faith can co-exist. However, that response didn't satisfy me as that only applies to the present state of ourselves. Thus, I would like to know, preferably from another Atheist or someone who can put forward a non-spiritual argument, a possible theory on what the Soul could be. During this discussion with my colleague, he almost admitted that there may in fact be a Soul, or something within us that we can't explain, but I screwed up my line of questioning. I wasn't on a mission to convert, it was just to see what his opinion on the issue was. My argument regarding the existence of a Soul, or something unexplained within us, is the intial Spark that let's us be who we are. Going back to the development stages of a foetus in utero, where does the Spark come from? From the moment of conception, if all we started out from was a simple ball of cells - cells that naturally possess electrical signals - what separates the ones that make it and those that don't? Where does the Spark come from that causes the brain or the heart (depending which has priority) of the foetus to "Switch On"? I feel it is important for me to reiterate - this is just discussion, and I'd like to know what others can contribute to the subject.

I should read that! What comic is it in and I'll hunt it down in a heartbeat...! What made me a Captain America fan was the 90's Spider-Man; his leadership and charisma was amazing, coupled with his sacrifice at the end. I was talking to my brother about the trailer last night, and something he said added a piece to the puzzle of why I'm still a bit iffy on it...it feels like an Underdog Movie. I'm not sure if that was really his origin, since the one I'm familiar with is from the Spider-Man series I have been meaning to pick up some reading material on him, but I don't know where to start on a "Recommended Reading List"...*hides in shame*

Oh yeah...I know that argument...Lucifer, Seraph or Cherub? I decided something along the lines of what you're suggesting, in that he worked his way up...but not quite. I haven't segregated the Angels so much, but the idea is that an Archangel is like a Lord. They have the highest Power Level and are the strongest, since they're the ones in contact with God more. The entire Host of Heaven is battle ready; they will fight when the need arises, but otherwise they carry out their regular duties according to their Dominion like Healing; Nature; Death...etc. I guess I'm finding working the "Sphere/Choir" system a little mind-boggling, but I'll see how it goes. These are all just preliminary ideas and I haven't really had a lot of time to think on it deeply over the years, but I guess I've made Lucifer of Archangel status, but not really - he's strong enough to be one, but he isn't. Which is kind of weird when you think about it, since if he was once considered God's favourite (according to a source I read) why wasn't he of Archangel/Seraph status? Naturally, one may assume that to be God's favourite he has to be proud of you for something... Thanks for the link by the way Odd, I never came across it while doing my research and most of the Angels on there I didn't even know about. Sofiel pique's my interest, since she doubles as a Nature Angel and also is associated with Death. Kind of makes me wonder who to choose between her and Sariel. However, I think I chose Sariel due to his being identified with the Islamic Angel of Death, Azrael. Also there was his story on doing what would have caused other Angels to Fall from Grace - fancying himself a Human wife and teaching people about the Moon. Since, quite possibly, Sariel and Azrael are the same Angel, just different takes, I guess I could throw in Sofiel...but I kind of liked the idea of Azrael being the "Head of Department" and Sariel his new "Assistant Manager". Perhaps Sofiel could be the new kid, since after the War there was a shortage and Angels often had to overlap their roles or something It's odd working on something that I had so clearly in my mind 5 years ago, and now I'm looking back and making the changes I didn't know how to make back then. It's a weird feeling, like a time capsule :/ Right, I think I'm almost done with my Rules, so I'll put it up for scrutiny by late tomorrow or on the weekend. Looking at it, there seems to be a bit of "Official" language, almost like it's a Legal Document, since I have to make even the finest detail clear as there's so much room for error and contradiction... I hate over-thinking things...makes me feel crazy.

I'll watch it because I love my Captain America...perhaps I'll be wrong about not feeling right about Chris Evans being given the part - I felt the same way when I heard that Robert Downey Jr was Tony Stark...until I saw a promo pic of him creating V1 of his pacemaker (sorry, the name escapes me right now). Though having watched the trailer, it does look good, but I'm still unsure about Chris Evans - not saying the man doesn't have talent...just his look :/ I feel similar to Ryan Reynolds playing the Green Lantern, but that's a whole other issue...again it's not about his talent. I'm so used to Cap being blond and blue-eyed, it's like a slap to Hitler's Aryan Race thing. Also, I too always thought he was a more skinnier version of himself pre-serum (same height, but no muscle or fitness)...they had to go Benjamin Button on him :/ As for Hugo Weaving, he wasn't even in Underworld was he? And Cap's shield in Iron Man 2 (was it really in 1?) could have just been an Easter Egg with no back story. I can't really imagine Cap waking up in the present day, going where's my shield and Tony going I just had take it apart and see how it works, but I forgot about it and lost interest because it refused to yield its secrets...

This is true...how does the following sound to replace that entire sentence (new bit in bold): Regarding the listing of some of the Angels at the beginning of the Prologue, you're right about that as well...it does add to the "Ancient Text" feel, and I picked those out in a hierarchical order of sorts. As for the choice of "Tobias" that's exactly the reason why I picked it, so yeah...irony/spite I don't think he'd want other people to call him by his real name, unless he allowed it. Also, since he's not on good terms with God, he'd use something that he would find funny, considering the Devil is supposed to (I think in some legends) appear as a friend/wolf in sheep's clothing. None of the Angels go by their real names; they've all chosen something fitting, for example "Brennan" isn't his real name, but it's what he chose to support his "new life"/stance on his Sin. It's a shame that they don't have an extensive list anywhere. Another reason is that I've decided that I won't be making up any Angelic names for otherwise unnamed Fallen. I wouldn't know where to begin, and I'm not particularly fond of the idea of just sticking '-iel/-ael' at the end.

You read them?! Thank you! I was really nervous about it, thinking that I had royally screwed up my ramblings masquerading as Original Fiction and you had caught me out Thank you for your review Now, let's see... You're right, "Siblings" does seem out of place...would it sound better if I cut that out altogether and left it as "...for they were all Children of God..." or replaced it with "Brethren"? Though, I think I want something to differentiate Lucifer's feelings for his fellow Angels, which is probably why I had "Siblings" - he holds them in higher regard to God's other creations, because he sees them as his equals since they were created for the same purpose. He doesn't hate God's other creations, but doesn't see them as equals or superior to his being...just other Children of God. Chapter 01 may have a few kinks in that I overlooked, because of the previous format when I wanted to keep their identities hidden. Which paragraphs did you have trouble with and I'll take a look and see if I missed anything...if you feel it doesn't flow right, then let me know. It's probably something I'll easily overlook because I've been going over it so much, that I can pick out the intention of the paragraph and thus have become immune to its wording. As for when it takes place, that was left intentionally open. It's an event that happens before the "main" story/relevant part, just to establish a few things, so I didn't think it was important to go that deep into it. That's also part of the reason why there's a lack of any real description at this point. Though if I were to say what period I was thinking of when writing it, you're about right A few things I'm not sure about: At this point, some say he bowed with them, seething within, while others claim that furious with how God had so easily set him aside to make way for Man, he refused to bow before any Child of Clay, for in essence he was Light and will always be superior, and thus rebelled. - I don't like how long this line is and I can't think of a way to break it up...it flows alright, but I don't like it's length and there are far too many comma's. I may also give the last paragraph in Chapter 01 a closer look...again, long sentence. A part of me feels that the pace of Chapter 01 seems a little fast...does it feel that way? I would try to slow it down a bit, but I'm not sure how because I don't want it to go on longer than it has to. Also, I'm not sure how to give it that slightly slower pace...if it needs it. I'm also unsure about listing the names of a few of the Angels at the beginning of the Prologue...then again, I don't think it matters all that much as I think the purpose of the Prologue and the main story is apparent? They're meant to contradict each other... Does it seem odd/weird that I'm not referring to the Angels by their real names? The next update won't be Chapter 02...I'm currently going over my Rules - this won't impact the two Chapters that I already put up since they cover the main points, and my revisions to the Rules apply to the flow and direction of the main story. So, I'll probably put the Rules up as well as some sample scenarios for the story. As I've said, this is where I have the most trouble and it's all down to one character...

Is that for a routine check-up in 6 months? I can't remember if I was meant to book a follow-up, or just go back if there were any problems regarding the treatment for my gum line...perhaps I should make a call to my dentist at some point and ask :/ I had to go to three dentists for their opinions regarding a gap in my gum - the receding gum line was an easy fix - which is caused by the shape of my tooth and should go back to normal once it fully erupts. It's a long-ish story, but in the end I went to my childhood dentist (since I haven't been to one in about 12 years) and they, surprisingly, still had my records. They were impressed to know that I still had good teeth and that I've been taking good care of them...I just need to be more gentle I'm a little nervous these days about keeping my mouth open for the dentist, since my jaw tends to lock after a while - which happened during the treatment last year and I almost panicked. That can't be good in the long run, since over the years I've developed the ability to crack my jaw and if I eat something that requires chewing my jaw pops, much to my brother's discomfort. His reaction is so cute though...but I shouldn't overdo it.
