the Guyver units in the films were not the same units as the manga. for a start they looked a heck of a lot different. they activated differently. they had different power output. as far as I can tell, the movie Guyver has some important parts missing. namely the power amps. if sho punched a normal zoanoid, he kills it. remember how he took out those ramotith with a simple punch? the movie Guyver quite obviously doesn't have the momentum enhancers that give sho his powerful punches. the movie Guyver has increased strength, this is true. he is faster, he is stronger, he has most of teh Guyver normal abilities. he doesn't seem to have the hang of the gravity controller but that could simply be due to inexperience. the CM must be inferior, becaue Sho's control medal teaches him how to use some abilities, whereas if sean has a gravity controller, he obviously doesn't know how to use it so his CM must not be capable of teaching him as effectively. as these units are inferior, then hte difference between normal Guyver and zoanoid Guyver must not have been such a big difference. besides that, the unit was damaged and so crane lost because of that. that's my take on it anyway. in actuality, these characters don't occupy the same universe. it's like the 'sliders' version of guyver. but it is always fun to imagine the meeting between the two. sean activates his guyver. "hey, look what i can do!"... sho activates his unit and proceeds to pummel sean into putty.

what the hell? I don't get it.... what's going on with that?

ha ha, that is pretty funny! the poor thing.. it's his own fault though.. he he.. oh it seems that video had embedding disabled by the owner. it says so on that page.

to be honest, I think it looks dumb. who knows how it will turn out, but my first impression reminds me too much of magiranger. of course that's hardly surprising considering some of those rumours.

I will quote from tv nihon forums :- red has what looks like the symbol for fire, green has teh symbol for tree, yellow has the symbol for ground, I think that is pink.. that looks like 'heaven'. edit: blue is water

the first video would not work. those animals are so cool!

analternative way of looking at cell replication and los of information... whilst aging is natural, it could be viewed as either intentional, or a side effect of teh cell regeneration process. I'm wondering if the Creators would have wanted their weapons to expire... I am not so sure about that actually.. perhaps if we look at data loss as an unfortunate side effect, then hte Guyver would prevent that data loss? and therefore prevent aging...

I feel a this stage it might be helpful for everybody if i point out the differences between 好 (love) and 女子 (girl) i don't know if you noticed but the symbols look almost identical. the major difference is that the symbol for love is a combined symbol whereas teh sybol for girl is two distinct symbols that can be separated. the two symbols are woman 女 and child 子. (or baby) when placed next to each other, it means the literal, woman child, or girl. but when combined, it becomes more abstract and is more to do with the relationship between the two. a mother and child is descriptive of love. because that is the greatest example of love you can get. some reference - 好き - suki - love 好 - kou - love 女の子 - onnanoko - girl 女子 - joshi/onago - girl 女 - onna/jo - woman 子 - ko - child/baby 男の子 - otokonoko - boy 男の人 - otokonohito - man

it all depends on how you look at it. if you don't make a story for it, it will be harder to remember. in this case, I would take teh meaning as gold from the hill, and i would twist it a little, to mean 'precious' from the hill. you know, using metaphor to describe steel. like oil is sometimes described as black gold. for people who do not study any form of japanese characters, it can be next to impossible to decipher the arrangement of teh strokes. I rmember before i started studying, I could not tell the difference between the kana for sa and chi. and kanji was just a complete mess to me.

I'd like to point out memories and clothing here. the Guyver obviously allows for changes each time the host bio-boosts. it must therefore allow for aging if it allows for these other changes. humans are designed to expire so the Guyver would allow for this. the Creators made us this way for a reason. the CM is a computer, a computer by it's nature does not argue. I think the focus need be shifted. I think that comparing asexual and sexual beings is irrelevant. it's the method of gestation that is relevant. internal or external. species that lay eggs for example, have external gestation. a chicken lays an egg, the egg gets fertilised outside the body and develops outside the body. in terms of thinking about if the Guyver would preent aging.. aging in it's basic form is down to cell division. each time a cell copies itself it loses information. if teh Guyver wanted to preserve the host, it sould restore teh missing dna to the cells. I doubt it would do that though. it's a natural process.

that air water thing sounds a bit concerning to me... the water in air has a purpose, it plays some role in hte ecosystem and taking it out of the air in such a way could have unseen ramifications.

well i was reading about muscle fibres the other evening. I found it very interestig and it got me thinking about strength etc. not a lot of people know, but we have different types of muscle fibers. of course the more sceince-y guys will probably know all about this. I'll make it simple though. we have 2 basic types (actually more, but i'm simplifying) fast twitch muscles and slow twitch muscles. fast twitch muscles operate mostly on anaerobic respiration and are extremely fast and strong types. they can generate extreme forces, but can get tired very quickly. slow twitch muscles operate mostly on aerobic respiration and are extremely endurance. they cannot generate as strong forces or as fast as your fast twitch muscles, but they can operate for much longer periods of time. now when i was thinking about this, i remembered that some animals are much stronger than humans when considering their size. I then realised that this has to be down to muscle types. some animals could be much stronger than humans but much less able to take part in endurance activities. so i went on to think about how geneticists want to change some muscles to be 'more efficient' like some animals. but what they would be changing.. in my view... is simply changing the balance. it makes a human that can be insanely strong, but would get tired very very quickly. you would end up turning humanity more caste species. you would have teh extreme lifters, you would have teh endurance type. and so on.

actually, I really enjoyed this latest sesion thank you durendal, I have learned a fair bit about verb conjugations and stuff like that. this is really interesting. onna no hito wa kawaii desu. nihongo no kyoushi ni narimasu. I think kanji of the week might be interesting.. but for people who are unfamiliar with reading kanji, it would be rather confusing. that is unless you break it down into the constituent parts and explain what each symbol relates to.. sorta like 買 which was explained to me as an eye 目 looking over a shellfish 貝 about to purchase it. meaning shopping - kau. (verb in it's basic form)

I'm moving to Japan. I thought you knew? yeah i love Japan. I mean I really love it. not some fascination, or passing interest, or admiration. It's like my true home. I look at images, i watch videos, and so on.. and i get tears of joy and an aching in my heart. don't know how soon i can move, but it shouldn't be more than a couple of years.

I just can never find any western women that are as appealing as these. I just can't wait to move.

I have a issue with that idea though. although I did consider it at first. what i consider very carefully, is teh link of teh control medal with hte hosts brain. now teh growing baby iside teh mother has it's own mind developing inside there. gathering experiences ( no matter how small) etc. it's own body, it's own ecosystem. far more complex than the hosts own body and how small the body may have changed between bio boosting. I feel that if the Guyver were to regress any part of that baby, it would need to have the CM connected to that brain in order to fully analyse it. and that would take a full length of the initial bonding to gather that much data and adapt to it. I don't think this is feasible. please tell me if i have been unclear. I thik i have explained fully enough, but i can lay it out far more clearly if needed.
-
if the Guyver is in the boost dimension, it can do the same thing, then the baby is stored. it is safe. a protective bio boost bubble in another dimension.. but it's difficult to do that. the Guyver can't bend in hte middle very easily if it has a baby there. the womb is like a separated ecosystem. I think Guyver would maintain that separate ecosystem.

heh heh, nice parody, that was pretty cool

toku warrior, that was so funny!!! I'm afradi i don't know what it is either, it would surely be fun to watch!

I think it would be very dangerous to use gene therapy to tackle obesity.. if you change the way the body handles fat storage, you will start to get problems with lethargy, lack of productivity and also malnutrition. the body stores stuff in fat that it feels it is lacking at other times. if you inhibit the body's normal storage capacity, you will have all sorts of defficiencies. a lot of people will die young. in that world, improper diets won't result in obesity, they'll result in death instead.

very astute, I can really respect that. everyone is different. some people can deal with situations in a very positive way, others cannot. some people living in very harsh conditions can accept the reality. other people don't and some probably die or commit suicide. some people live i ncomplete luxury and teh seemingly smallest things can make them totally miserable.

I just thou8ght about mitochondria and also teh bacteria that llive in our digestive tract. I do not think hte Guyver organism would view a foetus as a foreign body.. the Guyver seems to know how the body works to an extent further than simple DNA. since teh body is an ecosystem, the Guyver must analyze teh ecosystem and figure out how it works. I think the Guyver would recognise any changes in the repriductive areas as normal.

classic short, brilliant acting. very short clip.

I didn't see any documentary. I learned this through chinese friends visiting this country. actually it has been mentioned on two separate occasions with different people. I don't know about what the government thinks or whatever, I wasnt trying to suggest that the government tells people to eat the baby! that would be crazy. I think it's obvious this would be a kind of black market thing, but I was describing the motivation and reasoning behind this.
