Hi guys. Just though I'd weigh in with some thoughts. Firstly, this guy is highly likely talking from his butthole with regards to mailing Kadokawa. 2 of us have taken him up on his offer of a screencap of the mail but he completely ignored the request (thus far anyway). Also, if he really DID send an email, I'm very sure he did so in English. This will pretty much garantee that his message will end up In their junk mail to start with, or if it doesn't, it'll likely be disregarded anyway. For better or worse, English is not really widely spoken over here and most people tend to balk when faced with a wall of English text. That said, even IF they not only got his message AND understood it, by the time they get round to investigating, they'll discover that the scans reader has been taken down anyway. Basically, they just aren't gonna waste time trawling through the site. They are VERY busy people. It's clear that his problem is the pledge/pre-order system. If it was the fact that we were giving it away for free then he should also report the Chinese and Russian groups too. He hasn't though. He's just very annoyed that he can't get drenn for free anymore. The system of offering to order in bulk for members here is something that Kadokawa would applaud. It's a great idea but also a headache for Jess who has to do all the legwork. In fact, he probably did Jess a favor as now she has a excellent reason to kick her feet up and relive herself of the stress. This. If people still want to support the artist, they should order the books from Amazon.jp themselves and post a pic with their user name. This will completely eliminate any money transactions going through here and with the online reader gone, this will just be forum. The downside however is that due to Takaya's pace, they will have to wait a year for each book and perpetually be behind. It's not perfect but at least they will be buying the book and have access to a translation. Another option is that I can post a rundown of what happens in each chapter as a "spoiler" . No images just a few sentences for those that HAVE to know. Just an idea.

As an artist and Guyver being a big inspiration to mepersonally from childhood, the whole shebang is awesome! I love that humans are just merely base for Zoanoids. For all of our "power" and intellect we are nothing but puppets. The fact that the bad guys won on X day is sweet too. It's the story and art. But I just LOVE Guyver 1's design. From line work to colors to weapons and all. Just really awesome. I don't think I am addicted to anything as much as this Manga. We need a GA (Guyvers Annon) meeting... Hi! My Name is Rob. ... "Hi Rob." ... I have been addicted to Guyver since 1995...

Given all the tech and bio-weapons in the end it's a very human story. You have heros and villans and the lines between them gets blurred and interesting. Yet if I get all tech nerdy there is plenty for me to focus on with data files etc. It's probably the most complete story I've ever read or followed and now after 23 years of it I'm still very much into it (though have had on and off periods over the years). Hopefully I'll be able to read the end of it but don't want it to be a rushed ending either.

I'm touched that somebody actually remembered me. Anyway, whatever happens here happens. I'm just here to support Ryuki/Jess. Since I'm not necessarily needed nowadays, I'm just lurking around. I do have a confession to make, despite the countless volume of Guyver books that I've purchased, I've never actually owned one. Should I come clean?

I think getting the printed books is key. I personally own all 31 tanks and will provide a pic to prove it later. I agree that the true fans OCD will not allow them to not get the next ones so providing monthly scans could work on that level, provided one can prove they own the rest. This is going to be quite a journey to nail down and figure out. But the saga must continue!

Key member being Jess, right? Yeah the typesetter is still around and the current translator, Melvin Junko, that took over duties from Durendal is still present as far as I know. I can't see why the monthly chapters can't continue unhindered really.

Playing devil’s advocate here so please don't take this personally Cannibal if it comes off a little harsh.... There are limits to what a community can do. Simply put Guyver predates EReaders by a LONG time. So anyone now thinking "ohhh I need to buy the books to update my collection" and then buys them for an e-reader and is trying to prove they own old school copies of Viz or Chang Yi works don't really match up. I think we should simply ignore ereader and simply leave it old school. It's simpler to manage. It is the person that needs to prove to Japan Legend that they are a fan, not the other way around. Kock off / self printed book I don't know anyone who'd logically think "oh I'll save 15 euro on a book to my door and then go through the effort and cost of trying to a find the book on-line and b printing the fecking thing and cutting into book shape and colour printing a cover and then binding the pages to fake it. I'd give up part way and say "smegg it, I'll just buy the book"..... The vast majority of fans here have probably being invested in Guyver since the late 1990's to 2005/6. So most if any if they really did buy books, would have bought paper copies, if they didn't.... well time to support the hobby and keep Takaya writing!

Because the moment that member lost + access as they don't own Book 32 they'll get it if they want Book 33's content. Yes, it involves a little bit of trust, but unless the person is collector they don't make the grade anyway. It's easy enough to mange forum wise. you've 3 sections 1) Current Chapters Content (e.g. Book 32). To get this you must a) be part of the previous pledge system (this expires after book 32) or b) have a large amount the Guyver books after the Viz / Chang Yi books and own a full collection of either English published comics / books. If you don't but you do own book 31 and a all other Japanese relased volumes you get access to this section. 2) Previous full book (currently Book 31) Access to this requires you OWN book 31 and can prove it to the admins / mods / community. 3) The back catolog: Access to this requires that you own EVERY released book and by default makes it a lot easier to get access to the above. I know for people new to Guyver this is a lot to ask... but if you're new to Guyver go watch the 2005 and learn to use ebay / amazon to buy the content needed to prove you're a fan. Each time you have a new volume released you simply reset access to forum 2 and prune people from forum 1. Forum 3 access would rarely change and I can't see anyone who earned that access NOT buying the current books as their OCD wouldn't allow it. But again, a little bit of people management and again people can lose access to that section whenever a new volume is released if they where not members of forum 2. This is kinda fair as while current content and back catolog access requires you own every previous book you can access to the last volume by simply showing that you own that book (which is about as generious as we should ever be). Freeloaders can go to whomever for "free" content. But at least this model leaves things so we're policing ourselves. The thing I like about the community here is we support Guyver. If you want access to JL's work, it's simple prove you're a fan and deserve access to the content. As before be strict, if you're found to be sharing content to freeloaders, bye bye.

I don't think it's really fair to expect people to own Book 32 to get Book 32's translated content. You can quite easily see if someone owns books 8 to 31 or 1 to 31 of the books that they are a Guyver collector and would be serious about getting book 32. In saying that, once Book 32 went up for retail, if you don't own it and have a pic with it tough luck for Book 33's content. FYI even though my sister who lives in Japan bought me book 31 (she normally gets them for me) I bought a second copy yesterday to prove a point on price of a single book (I'll use it anyway for scans or most likely will trade it with XtroGuyver for a transfomrer toy, eithers good for me there is no such thing as a wasted Guyver book in my collection!). Which worked out roughly 11 UKP or 15 Euro in current exchange rates. If people don't like that as a once a year cost then they are visiting the wrong Guyver site for translations.

If that's what you want. As long as there is one source of information I guess that's fine by me.

We've been friends for a few years now and recently decided to take our relationship to boy/girlfriend status.

I will be when I get the chance but i need to flesh out some stuff about his dark control metal first. Ok may as well do this now. His Control Metal has been infused with Void Matter. The Void is the place between realities, it is pure nothingness. The void erases everything that comes into contact with it but on ridiculously rare occasions an object will become part of the Void but not destroyed. When this happens it becomes Void Matter. While Void Matter exists it simultaneously doesn't. It can be seen and touched but it has no mass or energy. It is unaffected by any of the strong or weak forces and it cannot really be harmed by any one thing in creation. Even beings who can alter time and space cant affect it. Even being who can manipulate reality cannot manipulated it because it is not part of creation. It can only be damaged by attacks that are infused with multiple aspect of creation. However to most beings void matter is useless. Since it can only be affected my incredibly powerful energies and is so rare very few have ever been able study it much less make use of it. Prometheus became curious about the void many years ago and tried to study it. He sent special probes that had semi-sentience and wormhole generators allowing them to travel to the void and back. However like everyone he else found that studying the void was impossible, every probes he sent there never came back. So he gave up, no point wasting his time. However 50 years later one of his probes reappeared. This probe had not only somehow survived its trip to the void and become Void Matter but its programming and ability to travel through dimensions had also remained intact. However it was had been heavily altered. The probe had been the size of a small care but was now the size of a Prometheus head. Also it had originally resembled the Relic Ship but was now a black sphere. The probe contacted it creator, stating that it had taken this long for it to properly gather and calculated data on the void and the void matter it was now comprised of. Appone its retrieval the probe gave its creator all the data it had collected. After examining the it Prometheus quickly realised that this could revolutionise his work. However there was a problem. While the potential of void matter was incredible there was no safe way to use it. That was when the probe revealed it could control its void matter just as easily as it could its original biomechanical form. However there was only a limited amount of void matter available to use so he had to use it sparingly. After another 20 years of research (the work made easy by the probes data) he develop the Void Control Orb Prototype 01 (VCOP). However none of his bio-weapons survived its use. Their bodies just could not handle its effects, he needed a stronger test subject. He even considered using himself but even with his guyver he would not survive....or at least not as it was. It was this idea that pushed him to final upgrade his guyver into its current hybrid form. During the optimisation process he had the probe fuse a small portion of itself with his control metal and had the VCOP 01 infused into the armours systems. While not comprised purely of void matter, his control metal is now very hard to damage (it is effectively indestructible by any conventional means) and because the void matter used was formed from biomechanical matter it can also regenerate if it ever is damaged. VCOP 01 is located inside Prometheus's body and can channels, generates and manipulates the very essence of the void, essentially pure nothingness (it is based on the technology of the guyver's Gravity Control Orb). When Prometheus activates it his body begins to generate an aura of nothingness. This power is called the Ultimate Eraser because "everything" that comes into contact with it is erased. This includes space, time and all sub-dimensions of that reality at that location. Prometheus can control and alter the size of this aura at will. Using this power causes Prometheus's body to take on aspects of void matter (i.e. has no mass or energy, is unaffected by any of the strong and weak forces etc).This power is very unstable and is only used as a last resort. Any mishandling of the power could cause irreparable damage to the fabric of reality (at which point reality can no longer repair itself and is at risk of total destruction) or even erase Prometheus himself. Prolonged use of this power will will have similar effects. Because of this Prometheus cannot move while using the the Ultimate Eraser because it could disrupt his control. Among his other works he is currently trying to perfect the Ultimate Gigantic Armour that can make full use of his VCOP technology.

Question! Did Lucy really die? That was a huge mystery at the end of the anime or was that just a filler scene that never took place? First off the story goes on for a lot longer then in the anime and a lot of stuff happens. Everything plays out the same but she doesn't die at this point and Kouta doesn't find out about her passed until the very end. Spoilers Lucy also unlocks her true power as a Queen. Her horns grow longer and her vectors become ridiculously powerful. In this state her vectors could Drilled a 2+ kilometer deep hole through the bedrock of a small island, causing an explosion that triggered a 30+ meter tall wave/tsunami and then later sank it completely via chain reaction.It was stated that the vectors were for physically destroying mankind, additionally she thought her final attack(s) would kill everyone. However using this power this takes its tole on her body. At the end after finding out everything Kouta makes her promise not to kill people again but that proves to be impossible as she is constantly being attacked and also began to dissolve her body from overuse of her powers. Kouta is also wounded at this time. Faced with a choice givingin to her DNA Voice (the voice spoke to her as child and tells her to kill) and of destroying the world that had caused her so much pain and saving Kouta, whose wounds had been worsened unto death, she turned all her remaining energy into healing him (in the manga it revialed that her vector special abilities is cell reconstruction/restoration, giving a healing ability). As her body began to literally fall apart before his eyes, Kouta was given a gun and urged to fulfill his childhood promise to kill her before the DNA Voice took control and tried again to destroy the world. The Lucy and Nyu personalities held the third one back, but Kouta found that he could not kill his old friend, no matter how she wronged him. Before fading, Lucy urged him to return each year to where they first met, and one day, she would be waiting for him. The most vicious personality now had full control, but was in such incredible pain that it placed the gun in Kouta's hands, and in a mix of mercy and vengeance, Kouta killed the girl he knew as Nyu.

....uh?! I think I missed the part of any sanity on this one... She should be tried and punished. The father is nuts. Age gap wasn't that much?! No. Society is crazy as is the system.

He's done some really great poetry, but this is the one I've found myself coming back to the most. The man has a wonderful way with words.

I'm starting to miss my relatively quiet life back at my previous college's dorm. Three of my step-sisters are now living with us and I'm ready to blow a damned fuse with all the drama they've brought. The oldest in the group is pregnant and can't make up her mind on permanently leaving her useless baby's daddy that wouldn't even keep a job while she's pregnant. The middle girl keeps doing the chores in the kitchen by herself before I can do a thing to get started cleaning. And the youngest is a bloody hyena! She's loud and obnoxious to the point where I want to hog tie her in duct tape. I can't concentrate on homework it's so chaotic now! The only reprieve I get these days are on campus, at my grandma's house, or at my boyfriend's apartment. Yes, I have a boyfriend now; we got together back in mid-September. He's a big time nerd that watches old Disney movies with me I've been hanging out with him at his place than going home lately. I don't see the home situation getting any better anytime soon, but at least I have somewhere to go to when I need an escape.

I have a few best friends. 1 I met in 6th grade. We both were into comics big time. We practiced how to draw Spawn and Xmen and things that were popular back then. Here we are like 22 years later and we are still really close. Another I met in High school. Same thing. We drew alot. We even had our own small label publishing company together. I still do the comis and he kind of let it go. The last I met in 2005. He was working at a Hollywood Video I used to frequent. Turned out he was a writer. I needed one for my comic. Now, years later He's writing Smiley and we got the book picked up by an indie publisher. All good peeps to have in my corner to be sure! There are plenty that have fallen off over the years. Same thing as you. Lies or just no longer having the same interests. It's all about quality!!

Of course man! You played a big part in enabling so many of us to read The Guyver in English!

This is for discussion and theories about fictional characters from elsewhere who might like Guyver as a story. Or perhaps fit in to the universe of Guyver. For my first suggestion, what about Lydia from Beetlejuice (you can pick which version, though I'm way more fond of Lydia from the cartoon series). This is mostly because she's already a teenager in kind of a bats*** bizzaro world in the canon of both the film and especially the cartoons. And in both adaptions, she doesn't scare easy, more so in the cartoon, because of her love of, as she puts it, the "strange and unusual". Lydia might like Guyver, but I don't know if the blood and gore (especially from some of the OVA episodes) would gross even her out. Also, to be fair, and not to sound sexist, Guyver is more aimed at teenage boys rather than teenage girls. And that's given that shonen manga does have a sizable peripheral female audience. So what are your thoughts and opinion on which fictional characters we know who could like Guyver, or even get along well in the Guyver universe.

lol. Yeah, Lydia actually might be into blood and gore who she has to deal with that being Beetlejuice. I'm thinking maybe Tony Stark/ Iron Man would be curious about the Guyver unit and might want to make a suit similar to it or something like that.

I suppose I should have the biggest say in this considering I was the one who rebuilt the wiki from the ground up. A part of me would be sad if the wiki is to be deleted since I spent a considerable amount of time building it. But then again, looking at the hits and statistics of the wiki, it seems that it doesn't get the much needed attention that it should be getting. If there is no use for the wiki, then there is really no reason for me to say no even though it has some sentimental value to me. Additionally, I don't really own any of it so I really don't have any rights to go against the wish of Ryuki/Jess. I guess you could consider it as just bragging rights now. Again, I support whatever decision Ryuki/Jess makes as the owner. Like I always say I'm just here to give my support.

Ok! Sounds like a very good idea! I approve! What does everyone else think? Also, now that the Advocacy is officially dead, would it be a good idea to rename the group for future scans? Or maybe keep the continuation of the scans/group a "secret"? Just wondering (like everyone else) where we'll go from here... Also, this +member thing, how many of us are there that can see this thread and what were the qualifying conditions to get this status? Just wondering.... lol

Hi everyone. Today was uneventful--stayed up way to long into the morning and went straight to bed after my parents left. So, I haven't done much so far today. However, I do have plans for looking up some stuff before getting some sleep in before I head to work tomorrow. After which I'll be getting ready for my trip to Akron on Tuesday. Also, considering that this is October, I'd love to know what's in pumpkin spice, so I can either make it or buy it if pumpkin spice is retailed in stores. Also, this being that time of year, too, I have to admit that I have a bit of a thing for Lydia from Beetlejuice, especially the cartoon. She's an intelligent, thoughtful, cute goth girl who actually wouldn't seem out of place as a character in some of the stuff that I like, such as the Twilight Saga novels. But that's basically what I have going on now. I'll be back later

A that takes me back. I liked the series but the manga was better. It's not the bloodiest anime/manga I have ever come across.

Today I went to a gig at a local comic shop to sling my comic. Good times. Chilled with my girlfriend and mom. Made ribs and got a horrid beating at scrabble. Women... using their words to defeat me!! LOL... nothing new there

I have to be honest, the only time I have ever seen a dirty bathroom was when I have been to an establishment in the slums. So far, the bathroom in some of the food establishments in our area, although not as bad as that pictures, are still decent. Here's on example of a bathroom in a gas station which you wouldn't believe actually exists.
