PowerofGuyver Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) So it's pretty much impossible for a Guyver video game to be made, I'd consider one ever happening breaking a law of physics. But that doesn't mean we can't play around with the idea right? So which developer would you want to handle this? What type of genre would you want? Me, I think Platinum Games (Bayonneta and Metal Gear Revengeance) could do a hell of a job. They are proficient at making epic action games, and can do gore just as good, two things Guyver is known for. So to me, a Guyver game would be a 3rd person hack n slah game, definitely rated M. Gameplay would be about using all of the Guyver's abilities to quickly and efficiently dispense of Zoanoid threats. The more of the Guyver's powers you use, and how quickly, gets you a good rating. river_chaos Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I think the team that made Gears of War could pull it off too. They did pretty well to show blood and guts flying everywhere and the animations were well done. 1 Quote
Guyver0 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I think that if a Guyver fighting game came out, then I can't think of anyone better than Netherealm. They practically invented gory and violent games like Mortal Kombat and Injustice: Gods Among Us.. 3 Quote
*PrimalNemesis Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I once saw someone playing as Guyver 1 in MUGEN. I thought having a Guyver in a 2D fighting game was pretty cool. Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I always figured Guyver would work in a few ways in a game... - Hack and slash game - Like Dynasty Warriors or like Transformers: Devastation ( also by Platinum Games). I say TF:D simply because there is less overall enemies on screen, which would be a bit more accurate to the way the Guyver fights. 2-3 Zoanoids at a time, rather than 5-10+ like in Dynasty Warriors games. - Turn based Strategy RPG - Like Super Robot Wars, Shining Force and others. While Guyver may not be quite big enough for it's own game, it would be cool to see it including in a game with other like series. But it's a great way to have a lot of different enemies, without worrying about scale and such. Would make using thing like the Draglord and Gigantic Exceed even easier. I think essentially, as long as normal enemy units died fairly easily, since the Guyvers can really tear through normal Zoanoids easily, and a lot of Hypers still don't give them much trouble... I would be mostly ok with it. 2 Quote

As I like the idea of Platinum having a tackle at the Guyver Universe, there hasn't been many mass battles to justify it IMO. Netherrealm could easily make a fantastic story mode for the game, and I think a fighting game would be a better match up. 1 Quote
Gazham Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I like rpgs, I'd like a game made where you follow the story with many opportunities to slay countless zoanoids, slowly working your way through to the zoalords Quote
PowerofGuyver Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 A Guyver fighting game would definitely work, especially in the hands of Netherealm. Tons of characters to choose from. 2 Quote
Guyver0 Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Another Guyver game that I thought was plausible would be a free roam similar to Prototype, but when you level up you don't unlock weapons and abilities of the Guyver because that would become available during progressive key events in the main story, but rather level up your effectiveness with the weapons and abilities. Example: Faster regenerative powers Less energy consumption Combo Tiers for High Frequency Sword Attacks Faster Charge Times for attacks like the Mega Smasher or Pressure Cannon. Of course disengage the armor to hide or lower awareness of Chronos. This would most likely take place post X-Day. 1 Quote
