personally I'd love to see a new movie guyver, but as far as I understand, the rights belong to nobody on this continent, namely think rights are of the original even owners, so do not think that shooting a new pelicual without an agreement with the owners

Steve: Thanks for the suggestion. But I no longer have the rights to the Guyver. The last time I checked, they are reserving it for big studio type films so not sure if anyone can make another film.

Me: I see well that's too bad! thanks for the answer! keep the good work! cheers!

oh and just wondering, if there is any chance to buy a unit G made by you?

Steve: I no longer do private commissions. But sometime in the near future, my collectible company, Elite Creature Collectibles will be pursuing the Guyver license so we will create some guyver collectible!

Cool can't wait!!!

Dear All,

I am a film director and as you all an avid Guyver fanboy.

Does anyone know who can I contact in Japan for hopefully obtaining Guyver movie rights?
I'd love to make a Guyver movie in collaboration the Japanese filmmakers, hopefully staying true to the manga as close as possible.

For those who are interested (I hope I can put my youtube links here)

At the moment I'm busy in pre-production of a digital Sci-Fi mini-series.

I don't know about rights, but who publishes the guyver dvds now? is it funimation?

perhaps they have the rights by default?

by the way, you need to contact kadokawa for any rights that aren't already bought up. I think. and apparently they are real swines to work with?

I could be totally wrong with anything I said here.

Hello, JayantSparda.  Your work appears to be quite impressive.  Thank you for taking the interest in to creating a Guyver movie.  You may want to try contacting David Hayter and Steve Wang, first, before looking for a more direct approach.  A third Guyver movie was not created due to a film rights issue.  However, David had became aware on the understanding that it may have been resolved, after having a casual conversation with Steve in August 2013 about making a third Guyver film.  Both of them did not know who had the rights at the time.  However, as it has now been approximately six months since their initial discussion in to making a third Guyver film, new developments may have occurred.  Good luck on your search.

As far as I know Funimation still has the rights to publish the 2005 series.

Research who controls the film rights to the book. You should first find the publisher at the beginning of the book and contact the publishing house about subsidiary rights. Some publishing companies have departments dedicated to dealing with republishing and film rights, called a Rights and Acquisitions Department.
  • Write or fax a written request for information on the film rights to the book in question. Be sure to include a legitimate proposal that proves why you should get information on book subsidiary rights. Also include your contact information, so that they can give you a response.
  • Contact the author's agent or the author to inquire about the rights, if you cannot get the information from the publishing house. You may be able to find the author's contact information on their website. If you have a great idea for adaptation, and the author likes it, you may be able to secure rights more easily.

Current Guyver Publisher is Kadokawa Shoten aka è§’å·æ›¸åº—

One would have to contact the Rights and Acquisitions Department as well as the Author/Agent, in this case Yoshiki Takaya. (By the way in searching a possible agent, turns out Yoshiki does autograph events)

Just be wary though. Recently A new branch of the company came to be, called Kadokawa Pictures. It's a new film division, so if someone has rights transferred there, than it will be hard to acquire the rights overseas.I wish everyone luck regardless.

I believe funimation has the rights to the guyver series. I wish they would do a Guyver season 2 i know it was not as gory and death defying awesomeness as the 12 part ova was but i still would love to see archanfels past fully animated seeing him take on guver 0 would be amazing. Would be a dream come true to see a sequel to steve wangs Guyver dark hero. With david hayter back and steve wang himself that be just amazing

Hi everyone,

As long as the new Guyver movie (if one is ever made) isn't rated PG-13, I'm up for it. Nowadays almost every movie is rated PG-13, so that more people (kids actually) can see it. And I hate that, because it almost always ruins the source material, and Guyver isn't Guyver without all the blood & gore, and slicing & dicing. I'm not a bloodthirsty person, but I like seeing things as they were meant to be, without any sugar-coating.

I would also like to see a Guyver video-game, something like Devil May Cry, hack & slash style   :hearts:
