*guyverfan Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) heard a rumour the other day, a new xmen movie in the works. will the story be some what similar to the anime which carried the same title? if so, would like to see how they plan on resurrecting half the group since deciding to kill them off in number3. only caught a small glimpse of this, so keeping my eyes and ears wide open for any leaks. comiccon in town this weekend, wasn't really thinking of going, but after hearing this, might have to just in case something is said or revealed. lost unit Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 im going to comic con tomorrow keep an eye out. Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) All we really know for certain is that a LOT of the cast from ALL previous X-Men movies have already signed on... Including Patrick Stewart, Ian Mckellan, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, almost the entire cast from "First Class" and more. It's going to be a massive movie. And the "Days of Future Past" is a classic comic story from decades ago involving the future and extermination of mutants. Edit: I guess I should note as well, that this is not X-Men 4. It is X-Men First Class 2... Which is basically X-Men 5 Edited March 15, 2013 by Matt Bellamy Quote
Larz Zahn Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 This odd what i hope will happen... Im wishing that the current movie verse is actually the alternate timeline. And they'll go back in time to the classic x men. Quote
Super Existence Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 The rumour is Apocalpyse is the villain, I still don't think the X-men movies previous have been any good whatsoever, the don't seem to nail the marvel vibe like Iron Man does. Quote
LordSpleach Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 About time they do someone other the Magneto. Granted the movies do have other villains but Magneto is still a big one. Apocalypse has the potential to truly take over if they do him right. The Dark Phoenix was done completely wrong, and I don't count Wolverine first solo movie cause the ending just killed the movie for me. 1 Quote
*guyverfan Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 yep, i don't really count prequals unless they're accounted for originally,(damn, lucas done it so well!) but have to admit i loved the prequal, although in the original anime the professor was crippled from being crushed under baulders in a cave/mountain colapse. honestly think its too early to bring in apocalpse, they can do so much without him at the moment( especially if there's some way to erase the exsistance of number3 and the minds of everyone thats seen it, lol.) and if they keep it faithful to the original anime(which they won't) we shouldn't see apocalpse's ugly head pop up. grew up with the original anime of this, really don't want to see hollywood screw up this franchise again. after number3, really struggled to actually go watch wolverine and actually thought they've redeemed themselves after watching first class, hope they can somehow keep the ball rolling with the next one. *YoungGuyver Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I think the bullet is First Class was a far more emotional way of paraliyzing Charles than simply having him crushed by rocks. Much better story telling in my opinion. It related the characters together in such an integral way. It would be great if they just did a remake of X3. The first two were fine, don't touch them, First class was fine. Just redo 3. Will the studio have the guts to do it? Doubt it. Oh well. It'd be great though, to have a propper Pheonix saga Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Update! Current and still growing cast list from Bryan Singer! *Jess♥ Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 eugh... I hated the casting for those first 3 x-men films. first class was a great movie, I loved it so much, but this new one, using the cast from those movies... BOOOOO!!! HSSSS!! not sure if I'll follow this one. I paid to watch first class in the cinema but it's unlikely for this. not sure. if they have apocalypse and can do it right then maybe. Quote
*guyverfan Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 i've got everything crossed, hoping they'll bring in the sentinels on this movie, they've got the tech to do it and i think its the right time too. Quote
RazorLaser Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Thought everyone knew about this and that the Sentinels were involved by now? Heh... I'm really excited for this. Quote
*guyverfan Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 haven't heard anything more on this yet and haven't really looked around for any updates i guess, but thanks for confirming it. Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 If you know anything about the comics, and have seen the ending teaser at the end of "The Wolverine", you can guess what is coming... TRASK Industries is the company that makes the sentinels. In "Days of Future Past" Peter Dinklage plays Bolivar Trask of TRASK Industries. Quote
*guyverfan Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 thanks matt, never picked up a comic book of xmen, only the tv anime and even though i have the box set of dvds sitting on my shelf, haven't had a chance to sit down and rewatch the series so its still wrapped in plastic. its alittle difficult for me to recall specific things from 25+ years ago. especially since i continued to have all those foriegn substances enter my body 4nights a week 20+years ago, but that all stopped 15+years ago, so most of my memory is short blast pixellated flashbacks, hhehehe. *Jess♥ Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 sentinels such a big part of x-men. but most biggest part of xmen for me and somethings that have not appeared on movies screen yet... mr sinister, apocalypse, ... and what about bishop? Quote

Quote

*guyverfan Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 i'm so twiching like a spastic to see nimron in this. no mention of it yet though. Quote
durendal Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Would it be strange for me to expect witty dialogue from Bolivar Trask? Quote
Guest snow Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 last x-men movie that I saw was The Wolverine. Pretty good. I can't wait for X-Men 4, looks like it will be a good experience. Doesn't Wolverine eventually join the Avengers? Quote
LordSpleach Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 In the comics, yes. But not in the Movie Universe. Quote
