mistajase Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 With the series still on hiatus after 3 years and no new information about whats going on, does anyone else think that this might be the end? I've just come across some new information - i'd thought i pass on, nothing confirmed - and could just be hearsay: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guyver/comments/bd5gjw/was_anyone_else_aware_that_guyver_is_over/ According to the post - Yoshiki Takaya also had a partner who was helping him with Guyver who unfortunately died in 2016, after his passing Takaya gave up and is now more focused on his dentistry practice. Like everyone on this forum - i hope this isn't true... and the Guyver will return someday. Quote

And the fact we know he was looking for an assistant a few years ago. I'd still take everything lightly as there is no confirmed source. Just because a guy says he talked to a guy who may be in the industry... It's worse than second or third hand info at this point. Interesting though. Quote
Salkafar Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Well, that's just great. I suppose the fact Takaya hasn't come out and said it's over leaves a glimmer of hope. 1 Quote
Gazham Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 As always, we can only wait and see. I've heard of the dental practice rumour before, only in a comment on facebook. I guess the Japanese fan base hasn't heard much either, or news would have filtered down already. I would guess it's all just speculation still at this point. Quote
Tora Tan Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 (edited) considering he was 'talking to a guy at monster con' and then 3 days later he said he 'went back to the source' I am prepare to say this is falsehood. if he got talking to the guy at a convention, the odds are low that he's have the sort of relationship where he could get a continuation of the dialogue 3 days later. and if he could, then we would definitely be getting more information from that guy. even if it is true, and i guess it could be, it doesn't mean guyver is stopping because we've been told from a few sources that takaya is in negotiations with kadokawa. Not necessarily. At a con like this, I've seen that walking up and talking to guys the creators of the works, like Steve Wang, is pretty common. It's more of a "Show and tell" style convention as they have their works out on display. So if this guy who is "In the know" about Takaya is showcasing some of his works, he would be on the floor talking with people. And if the focus of the conversation was turned to Guyver, I can see it coming out if they indeed knew about it. All that being said of course, it's still hearsay and not any kind of proof at all... But the situation described COULD have happened given the type of con and circumstances. 1 Quote
BlackEpyon Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 While this maybe true. I think that we should take it with a grain of salt. Quote
