Weltall2 Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 This movie rocked! I loved it from beggining to end. And I have seen it twice. so who loved this movie and who didn't. Quote
Shenzon Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I loved it!! I think they represented it right. I think those born in the 70's appreciate it more. I also think they found the original voices for Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream. I loved the fact they found a balance between comedy, and still keeping it serious and full of action at the same time. I also loved the fact it was 2 1/2 hours long. I hate short movies because everything is rushed. The critics complain about the length of the movie, but then when movies are short, they complain because the plot was rushed. Overall, best movie in years in my opinion. The left the ending open for a possibility of a sequel. I too hope to be able to see it again. Quote
xtro guyver Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 The only orginal VA was Prime Megatron was played by Hugo weaving, though his Orginal VA Frank welker plays megs in the movie game as for starscream VA hes been dead since 94, though the guy who played him in the movie did play g1 silverbolt Quote
jedi-guyver Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I loved it as well, the begining in particular. I really enjoyed Shai Labouf, I thought he did an excellent job. Quote
Shenzon Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Yeah Shai played his part well. Meagan Fox was hot as hell herself. I liked the way they found the perfect balance between comedy and serious action, like when they were in his father's flowers around the backyard. Quote
Warbyrd13 Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 With the amount of history they didnt do a bad job with the movie. The story needed some work.(What in the hell is this All Spark crap?) Some of the robots in the film needed to be there and some others didnt. Only major problem I had was there was some major action then it would cool down to a teenage love story then shift into a science geek triia game. Main Problem was Megatron got scrapped too easy. I was wanting the constructor cons in the movie as Megatrons secrect weapon. I wanted to see Soundwave and his little recon team gather infomation. StarScream would have owned the Airforce in the skys so either Prime or maybe Ironhide would have to be the one to take him out. Quote

The all spark is another name for the matrix is transformer fiction (the allspark name orginated from the beast machines series) and seeing how the matrix is one of the things that can be used to create new transformers, it makes sense that for the movie the all spark can do the same Quote
guyverfanatic Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 I loved the movie. I thought the humor in it was great. Quote
xtro guyver Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Well now that its out in the UK I finaly seen it. And it was one hell of a good film, consider this transformer fan happy, now bring on the sequal is all I can say Quote

Spartan Warlord Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 ok i watched it last night and i must says there alot to be improved on: 1. Needed to see more of beenie mac hes a funny guy 2. Afta a fight it slowwed down to some teenage love bs 3. megatron got his ass kicked way to easy 4. The spark wouldt have destorys megatron or anyone else who looked after it as in the cartoon optimus did merge with it 5. There was no proper introduction of the Destructicons only those who new cartoon knew who they where 6. more to come im going to watch it again on da weekend P.S. THEY NEED TO BRING OUT TRANSFORMERS 2: THE RATHE OF UNICRON!!!!!!! Quote
*zeo Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 I don't recall OP ever merging with the Spark? The closest I recall was hooking the Matrix to it as a go between. Unless you're confusing the All Spark with the Matrix? Quote
Spartan Warlord Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 maybe mergin was the wrong word im almost certain he *carried* the All spark just as a means to protect at some point...maybe im wrong Quote
McAvoy Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Megatron was kicking ass until the soldiers starting to fire at him which in that movie all Transformers were vulnerable to (can't remember right now) those types of rounds. Quote
*zeo Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Thermal, they figured out the transformer metal was vulnerable to intense heat. Quote

THEY NEED TO BRING OUT TRANSFORMERS 2: THE RATHE OF UNICRON!!!!!!! Trust me when i say using unicron is a bad move why the fandoim is sick on him latly, since they want somthing different then uni being the end bad guy which it was for the last 3 animated shows and the dreamwave comics, its why IDW have stated that they won't be using unicron at all in there g1 comics besides we have other great tf villians to chose from such as soundwave or shockwave for the sequal As for the allspark while it is based off the matrix remember the movie verse has nothing to do with other tf universe, and theres alot of tf universes out there Quote
Spartan Warlord Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 hmm true true but it would be nice even if they did a sequal and just mentioned uni Ohyeh 4got about them to...no doubt if they did a sequal megatron would become and as Galvitron Quote
BloodStorm Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Yeah.. I really hope they don't use Unicron in the movies.. He was a great villian back in gen1.. You know.. when he was only around for the movie. Just becuase he's a giant planet eating monster doesn't mean he needs to be seen every single effing time someone mentions transformers. Sometimes villians are awesome becuase of how they're defeated. Having them come back from the dead over and over only serves to cheapen that. Unicron is one of these villians. Also, for those who didn't realise. The tank was mislabeled in the movie. When he said his name was Devistator, that was simple a post film screw up during the editing process. His official name is Brawl. (Devestator himself is tenatively schedueled for the sequal as an aircraft carrier, but considering all the changes that went through namewise in the first one, who knows what it will end up as.) Quote
Spartan Warlord Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 still think unicron should be in the sequal if there was one Quote
*zeo Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 As for the allspark while it is based off the matrix remember the movie verse has nothing to do with other tf universe, and theres alot of tf universes out there I don't know, I never read the comics but in the Cartoon series the Allspark and the Matrix were TWO Separate artifacts. The Allspark was revealed in the gen1 series, first with the key to it being found on Earth and the Decepticons trying to use it to turn the Earth into a new Cybertron and then back on Cybertron they revealed the main device which the key activated. It was then used to give life to the Stunticons(spell?) and the Aerial Bots. And Optimus Prime's mentor died while linked to it but Optimus later recovers his spark and puts it into the Matrix when he uses the Matrix to link to the Allspark in Gen2 series after he got resurrected. The Matrix itself was revealed in the movie when Optimus Prime died and is just a container of the wisdom and knowledge of all the Autobots leaders going back to the very beginning. Unlike the Allspark the Matrix never gave life, it only contained a copy of the minds of all the autobot leaders. So whichever autobot carried it got enhanced by the sparks of all those leaders combined. But only the Allspark could create new life. This wasn't changed in the Beast Wars as far as I recall as the Matrix was only encountered when they stumbled upon the Ark, since they were basically in the past before Gen1 really started. So unless the other medias diverges completely from the cartoon series they are two separate artifacts. Course the movie will most likely go its own route. Quote
BloodStorm Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 still think unicron should be in the sequal if there was one There will be one. They have the rights to make two more movies, and the first movie sold enough they know people will go to see the next to. So a sequal's coming. Probobly be another two or three years in the works.. but it'll happen. If unicron shows up at all, and that's a BIG if.. it would make the most sence for him to show up in the third movie, simply due to the fact that it would be crazy hard for them to top that in a follow up without ressurecting him or doing something stupid like that. Zeo your never read the g1 comics, boy you missed out on some of the best g1 stories about After all nothing beats the old galavtron Vs Ultra Magnus fights from the old uk stories Zeo your confusing the allspark with vector sigma Vector sigma was the super computer that gives transformners life in g1 cartoon and was alos know as the oracle in beast machines. The allspark name came from beast machines and was another name for the matrix dimenion where all tf sparks go to when they die, in other words Primus the transformers creator from the comics It was then used to give life to the Stunticons(spell?) and the Aerial Bots. And Optimus Prime's mentor died while linked to it but Optimus later recovers his spark and puts it into the Matrix when he uses the Matrix to link to the Allspark in Gen2 series after he got resurrected. . Also there was no gen 2 series zeo you are talking bout the 3 episodes that make up season 4 of the g1 series known as rebirth. The g2 animated series was simple old g1 eps with a new cgi intro and a cgi cube replacing the changing faction logos. The only true g2 series was the 12 issue g2 comic series which picked up where the the g1 comics left off, and still is one of the most dark and violent tf series writen, in fact alot of the g2 comics inspired the writers of beast wars. The Matrix itself was revealed in the movie when Optimus Prime died and is just a container of the wisdom and knowledge of all the Autobots leaders going back to the very beginning.Unlike the Allspark the Matrix never gave life, it only contained a copy of the minds of all the autobot leaders. So whichever autobot carried it got enhanced by the sparks of all those leaders combined. But only the Allspark could create new life. So unless the other medias diverges completely from the cartoon series they are two separate artifacts. Course the movie will most likely go its own route. as for the comics the matrix was the main source of creating transformers life, orginal it was a compouter program in primes mind but after the movie it got retconed to have the physical form we are familar with. The creation matrix was revelaed to have been created by the transformers creater Primus as a way of killing his old foe unicron Quote
*zeo Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 (edited) So isn't the vector sigma the actual Allspark? Since it is the only thing shown that had the same purpose as the Allspark? So you mean the whole Rodimus Prime era wasn't gen2? Funny, having Spike grown up and his son the new kid on the block would fit gen2 in my book. Kinda defeats the purpose of calling it generation anything if you don't count the next generation as the next generation. After the movie they killed many of the old characters or altered them. So it wasn't the same series. And even in Beast Wars the Matrix wasn't the Allspark, just a conceived version of it. Cause they introduced the concept of a soul and the Allspark to them was basically heaven. Even in the movie they said things like, "Until all are one" etc. Never mind they were all considering death, not life. The Allspark in the movie created life, the opposite of death so fits the Vector Sigma and not the Matrix. Edited July 31, 2007 by Guest Quote
