  1. I liked the 2005 series because it continued the story. Ambiance-wise, I prefer the 80's, which really captured the essence of the Manga. The 2005 series was sorta kiddie proofed, despite it being broadcast on Wowow which is somewhat of an equivalent to Adult Swim.
  2. The problem with Hollywood adaptation of Anime is that Hollywood doesn't believe that the Anime has a big enough following to make money, and really believed that the average joe doesn't have any idea what anime is about. That's the primary reason why they went and casted a famous actor/actress to draw crowds, not knowing that doing so would have resulted in backlash. To be honest, my gripe with Hollywood adaptation of anime is not really about the casting, but more about the writing. I don't understand why they have this need to adapt the story to be palatable (or dumbed down) to American audiences. The reason they are popular in the first place is because they do make use much of American culture. What makes them so appealing is because of how different they are. My statement of this might cause a lot of hate, but if they had written Dragon Ball differently using the same cast, the movie might actually be decent. Actors portray the characters based on how they see them, and in this case, ScarJo portrayed it because this is how the writers presented it to her.
  3. I do agree with Tora about the logic behind Falcon catching the Shield. I mean logically speaking, if the shield can embed itself into a tree, how could a human hand be able to catch it straight? The shield can actually lop off a head with it's sharp edges. Even as a super soldier, it's nigh impossible not to get hurt just catching it. Unless you use some kind of device to safely catch it. Attributable perhaps to comics physics? Seriously though, if it is possible for Steve Rogers to catch it, it is doable by any ordinary person. You just have to notice that while Steve catches it using one hand, Sam Wilson needs to use both hands.
  4. I may have recalled this incorrectly, but Black Widow might be the second major movie they will release on Disney+? After the gaff with Mulan, they might be taking it very carefully on how they release this.
  5. Wow, that's something new. Funny banter aside, the plot looks very interesting.
  6. Aren't they gonna drop this in Disney+ anytime soon?
  7. They did a lot of things right with the previous Spider-Man. I guess Disney have finally realized that big money comes from listening to the fans. I'm just waiting for Disney to buy out Sony (or at least the right to Spider-Man) so they can go all out.
  8. You know, I have a feeling that we'll get more chuckles than action in this series. Just like marvel, releasing a trailer that's just a snippet of the trailer they previously released. With all the secrecy, one just cannot help but expect something explosive.
  9. For the most part, reflecting on your mistakes is one way to make you better. If you made a lot of mistakes you regretted, then that will only make you a better person. With age comes maturity and if you say you don't get angry or controlling as much, it is a sign you've outgrown your old self. Perhaps you're focusing too much on the past. Instead, why not think of what's to look forward to. How do you see yourself in 5 years, and are you happy with that possible outcome? If you dwell on your past, you won't be able to appreciate what you currently have. You had a tough time with your past relationship. Why not relish the one that you have right now and look for a better future. Can you honestly tell me you are not happy with what you have right now?
  10. Then I'm glad that I have Daughters as I don't need to compete with them with the consoles 😁. But we do compete over who watches TV. But then again, I usually give way to them. And I don't want to get another TV for their room otherwise they won't come out of there. Not really, aside from my work, when I'm at home, I usually need to take care of the household stuff. Right now, I'm renovating a room into a small office where the kids can do their online classes. It was supposed to be my game room which I didn't have the time to completely furnish. But then the pandemic hit and you know how it goes. Being in line of work I'm in, I'm usually the Handyman at home. The free time I have I usually cook and read. I do manage to sneak in a few mobile gaming that satisfies my gaming needs. But we're getting off topic. For console games, my cup of tea are simulation and old fashioned RPG, the likes of Super Robot Wars and Final Fantasy. Though the last main Final Fantasy I played was FFX. I'm mostly interested if there are any Super Robot Wars games coming to the PS5. I know I've missed a lot of iterations, but maybe there's this one game that would lure me back to console gaming, like how Symphony of the Night convinced me to get a PS one XX years ago.
  11. This may be slightly off topic, but I just bought myself a 75th Anniversary Captain America Shield. I'm very happy with this purchase and it does not feel like a toy. Now I'm ready for the zombie apocalypse.
  12. King Ghidorah = Kinky Dora Sorry, I just can't resist. For the life of my, I don't know why Kinky Dora keeps popping up in my mind every time King Ghidorah is mentioned.
  13. For cases where the Anime neared a certain point in the manga, I'm just glad that they don't put fillers here. I was heavily turned away by what they did with the Naruto and Bleach anime. Most of the anime that I watched that have surpassed the source material and deviates have been very disappointing. Which is why I'm very skeptical as to how they will end this. I can say that we all agree that there are no longer fillers similar to what they did with Dragon Ball Z.
  14. Perhaps there is a risk of introducing that virus to every zoanoid. Remember that Neo Zx-Tole has become a lost number because of all those modifications, and those modifications might not be compatible with their template. And it is also likely that they don't see Aptom as a major threat like that of the Guyvers and didn't even thought that he would join hands with his enemy.
  15. I'm no expert on break-ups, but I do know a few things about internal conflict. The way I see it, you are having trouble with acceptance. 11 years is a long time and it takes tremendous effort to have maintained a relationship that long, especially ones like yours. And it will take much more effort to move on from that. Did you regret your actions? It's natural to think of the past because there was something that had an emotional impact on you, be it good or bad. But then again, what is troubling you? Do you have thoughts that something similar may happen in your future.
  16. PS5 is scarce where I'm from. It also doesn't help that it's outrageously overpriced right now. Though I never planned on buying one. Free time is currently a luxury that I don't have much.
  17. To start, I think Guyver started on a different publication, which doesn't really quite have the reach like that of Shonen Jump. You'll notice that the titles you mentioned are all published in Shonen Jump. So more circulation, means more readers, means more popularity. You're practically guaranteed success if you get published in Shonen Jump. And since he's not on a weekly platform, there are less pressure to get an assistant or vice versa.
  18. I think there needs to be a distinction between Free speech and Bullying. A lot of the negative actions in the present all have the same denominator. Bullying. Many people have the mentality of "I don't like what you said so I'll rally some folks and shame you". I may be wrong but that is how I see cancel culture. Lambasting a person whether the intentions are good or bad, it's still a form of bullying. You commit one mistake and you are branded for life. And because of that mistake, your mental health takes a toll. I don't know if people are much harsher now or are much weaker mentally.
  19. Yeah, I think the MCU is now starting to retcon their origins since the rights to the characters have now fully reverted back to them. The Stark bomb not blowing up could be something they planted or it was a coincidental detail that they fully utilized. However they did it, it's genius. This makes re-watching the previous MCU movies much more worthwhile. They just keep increasing the replay value of the old movies.
  20. Hahaha, I love their banter. We now leave the feels zone and move on to the action zone.
  21. Well, I'm certainly no expert on cancel culture, and you are right that free speech is a double edge sword. It goes both ways. However, the negative impact is greatly amplified by social media. I believe that free speech should not be restricted, but should be brandished responsibly by those with influence. What happened in the US capitol riot was an act of idiocy hiding behind the pretext of free speech. If Trump was an ordinary citizen then, what he said should be fine. But he was the President of the United States and the words that comes out of his mouth carries a certain weight. As what someone's uncle always said, "with great power comes great responsibility". What he did was irresponsible. It's practically him saying "come into my house (the capitol) and do (ransack) whatever you want". Do you think this would have happened if an ordinary citizen was up in that podium spewing the same lines that Trump was saying. Most likely, a lot of people would deem him a lunatic. The concept of free speech was to empower those who are powerless, and not to be used by those in power to incite. But you do have a point about hate speech. Again, this needs to be handled responsibly. I'll give a perfect example. I'm Asian and with a lot of hate crimes being committed to Asians right now I should be heavily affected by this. If you berate me to my face, I can accept that because we are talking on equal grounds. I can choose to ignore you or I can punch you in the face. That's freedom of speech. However, if you do that on social media with the power to amplify those words from others, then we are no longer on equal grounds and what you have done is trampled on my rights. There is also no way for me to react to this, thus, restricting me of my freedom. That is not free speech. But hate speech originates from misguided information, and may have been influenced on how a person grew up. Given a chance, it is possible to correct all of this with the proper education. The world is so screwed up right now and I miss the simpler times before the internet.
  22. Well, speaking of being easily offended, cancel culture seems to be a prevalent norm nowadays just because one does not agree with the general public. This is most evident when a celebrity speaks their mind that offends a lot of people. In relation to this, I've seen Rowan Atkinson gave a speech and he made some fine points about this. Although his speech is about a law being passed in the UK, the contents of what he said still rings true in a lot of ways.
  23. I do feel that having them include any fox related material may be too premature. I mean, they started planning this as early as 2018, so they would bound to have already created the outline for Marvel Phase 4. Fox being bought by Disney was only finalized early 2019. So including any fox related material would be like throwing a wrench on their entire planning process, which would further delay phase 4. I do believe timing is everything. The problem with that is that the actors are not getting any younger. In the end, this happened:
  24. Well, as expected, a lot of the predictions didn't come true.
  25. That's assuming he also regains his emotions. But we all know (or have a general idea) what happens next. And I'm getting the impression that they are leading towards making Scarlet Witch a villain. Oh the feels.....
