Guyver Novel pictures for translating
Good point Aether. Raw translations like what I have done usually needs editing. Lot's of it. Like you pointed out, it's difficult to determine who said what, because you only get to read a part of the whole story. The trick here is to understand it through context, and one page is somewhat limiting it. The original Japanese text did not have any "he" or she" so we really need to rely on context. After reading through the first part, it is only then we find out that it was actually Shou's thoughts we are reading. Ryuki, I think it would be best to include both english and japanese text on the wiki. I haven't gotten the time to do it yet since there was something important I had to attend to during the weekend. It is true that one page is not enough to satisfy the curiosity of the readers. Usually, one chapter of a book would be enough to gain a discussion. Don't worry and endure this only until we finish one chapter. Then we can have a lot of people to discuss that. You have to admit, a couple of pages isn't really interesting enough, especially that one particular part, if we convert it to the manga, that's probably just one or two panel.

Guyver Novel pictures for translating
It's actually up to you. Since you have the book, we will follow your pace. The first pages were posted on a Wednesday and 4 weeks has passed since then. We don't seem to be following any schedule. If you have the chance to post it, why not? Like you said, we'll just poke you when you don't post the subsequent pages. Also, since no scanlation is necessary in this side project, do you think it would be wise to post this straight into the wikipedia? I'll volunteer to setup the page (like always). I plan to have 2 pages for this, one in the original japanese text, while the other a translated text. I mean, we will still continue this, but we'll update the wiki to reflect the information posted here.

hehehe.... Page 1. He, up until now, only lost consciousness once. Playing tag in the kindergarden, the foot slipped in the concrete genko, of course by chance the head was hit. In an instant, the scenery began to spin, I thought that I have seen the vividness of the blue sky, then becoming total darkness, not knowing anything at all. When I regained consciousness, I was lying in a tatami-matted room, mother was peeping with a worried face. I was thinking that this is the kindergarden so how come mother was here, I still remember that now. What was more mysterious, was I remember the total darkness when I lost consciousness. Since I lost my senses, even though I shouldn't be able to perceive anything, I know of that time. ....right now, the same thing was happening. When I see surrounding scenery, I know that he was inside the darkness. Page 2. Then I myself, there is no mistake that I lost consciousness. My sense has returned. However, my state, there is something strange. What I see is much more distinct than usual. Nevertheless, I can feel the distance from the physical world. Then, there was a strange silence. For example, is that really so. He was looking at the scene with absent mindedness. A meadow enclosed in the forrest. In front of their eyes was a swamp. ...in the corner of the eye, something moved. Slowly, looking at them. The boys in school uniform has their hips just above the grass. A frightened expression. With both hands, they stepped back. In that form, I remember. [....Tetsurou.....san?] He was bewildered by his own voice. Though clear has a reverberating sound. Just like always, the usual high pitch. The boy was surprised, looking over here. [shou? Is that you, Shou?]

What live-action series are you watching or have you watched?
Sorry to disappoint you, but the effects are minimal in this, and they concentrated more on the story and plot. The amnesiac Tsugami Shouichi actually builds up a lot of interesting questions. The actions are also short and not that grand, and is used only as a story telling device. There are a lot of civilian deaths though, which clearly shows the threat of the unknown to the public.

Here are some more comments about the other guyver merchandise. vdf 070 Page 146 No. 20 Aptom 5 price including tax 3,090 yen (list price 3,000 yen) Aptom newest version. Changing up to this point, it was created to have a strong standard pose of a heroic color. The few number of details in the vinyl cord of the electric shock tentacles was disappointing. Perhaps I should get the one used in Elegen's.... No. 21 Zoalord Guyot price including tax 3,708 yen (list price 3,600 yen) Currently, the biggest item on the series. It's as big as the Gigantic. Because it took us some time to craft this, we crafted the protecter when it was first shown. I also want Guyot's giant node in relics point. No. 22 0 (zero) Guyver price including tax 2,884 yen (list price 2,800 yen) The first human bioboost body. This is the guy that appeared in Shou's vision while in the relic in volume 7. It also appeared as a shilhouette in the anime. But we crafted this based on the established image. It came out awesome. But I guess this is minor No. 23 Neo ZX-tole price including tax 3,708 yen (list price 3,600 yen) ZX-tole's true final form. The head became smaller, the the shoulder has volume added, and the legs were extended, giving a spartan image. It is able to "Complete open mode" turning all chest beam cannon to BT mode. No. 24 Guyver Gigantic price including tax 4,120 yen (list price 4,000 yen) Cool. Good job on the design, especially the deep impression from the manufaturing. The coating is perfect, it was good to have a fine millipen (around 0.05mm) draw the streak line detail in the whole body No. 25 Gigantic Dark price including tax 4,120 yen (list price 4,000 yen) In order to achieve the intricate details, the head has 5 parts!! Basically with the excaption of the head and chest, it is the same sa Guyver Gigantic, but it's like this is a different guy. (although he is a different guy) At the moment this and Guyot is the only kit I'm eyeing. Bioboost Armor Guyver Series (Soft Vinyl made constructed kit) In this series, there are 2 categories. One, is the dawning of the Guyver kit's 1/6 series. These, are in reference to the Bio Fighter Collection. Another, is the kit version of those that appeared in the hollywood movies. The subject of these kits were originally created by Mr. Steve Wang. Bioboost Armor Guyver I (1/6 scale) price including tax 2,575 yen (list price 2,500 yen) It all starts here!! One that was sold when the anime version of Studio Live was publicly released. Even for the 1/12 series, it was because of this kit that planning started, you can say this was the source for all the kits. Bioboost Armor Guyver III (1/6 scale) price including tax 3,090 yen (list price 3,000 yen) Even though this is the same scale as Guyver I it's big. Comparing it I looks like a child. Coupled with the volume up of the whole body, Guyver III's fiendies mood greatly follows this. It looks like a monster kit!! Original Version Guyver II Head price including tax 412 yen (list price 400 yen) The Original (first version) of Guyver II has no difference from Guyver I except from the head. With only this attachment, the Guyver I kit can become Guyver II. Proportion? Height? ...I can't say Movie Version Guyver [GUYVER] price including tax 4,944 yen (list price 4,800 yen) The kit originally from Steve Wang himself. Such reality and feeling of existence..... Anyway, you'll know it has value at one look. But was it on purpose to have this product reproduced Guyver Zoanoid price including tax 7,004 yen (list price 6,800 yen) A loss leader character of the hollywood version that combines Guyver II and III's feet as well as a zoanoid. This kit actually borrowed the movie prop to be produced, amazingly real. Its surprising. Page 147 Out of production (currently unobtainable) Now there are many out of production kit. Aside from the OVA version Guyver II and Guyver I Gold 1/6 soft vinyl series, ZX-tole, Guyver I, Aptom III were sold as BFC series. No matter the individuality of the kid, these are now treated as collectors items. Also, they have the sense of fashion. SD series are an example of that. '86 OVA version Female Guyver II List price 3,000 yen The Guyver II version of Studio Live is female. A unique item in the Guyver World where there is no female creature. It has a detailed proportion, and I think, that it's based on one's taste. ZX-tole The Final list price 3,200 yen Although there is no exception, this is the only customary glow in the dark, and is an incredible item which there is only one. Later an all open mode and additional parts were sold. (no chest beam) Guyver I [ACTION FOR MEGA-SMASHER] list price 2,800 yen A kit that was bundled with the video which is a rare item. It would be nice if there was a Guyver III for this. It is trully regrettable that this is a limited edition merchandise. Aptom 3 list price 3,000 yen A kit using the body of Elegen, which is actually a compatible kit with Elegen. Looking closely the proportion and pose was wonderfully changed. Nevertheless they even made this? Deformed Guyver Guys (total height 7cm) list price 680 yen No 1 Guyver I (center) No 2 ZX-tole (left) No 3 Guyver III (right) One of the soft vinyl kit. These, came about from the prototype design. When these were sld, it was in the middle of the SD boom. I don't see any problems with the SD character. What I wanted, was the set of the team 5. Also, Balcus and Guyot in this since would be nice. It would be good to talk about characters which were not put into SD.... Guyver I GOLD list price 3,500 yen This, is a 1/6 Guyver I Gold Version in commemoration for the release of the 2nd OVA series. Would it be a premier to have this now? This was only the 1/6 kit coated with gold, but aside from that it's good. Prototype & Special Parts Aptom 1 and Balcus that is introduced here are only introduced up to test shot and was not made into kits. This time, presenting for the first time to the public. Additionally, customized part for the 1/12 scale Guyver I will be introduced. There are 3 parts in total, chosen for subscription. Also they are currently made as presents. Guyver Breast (Chest Armor Open State) *Special Parts not sold This is the special parts sent through subscriptions. The extension of the high frequency blade on the arm and pose from the feet. These are also given as present to those wo subscribed to the OVA.... Aptom 1 Guyver Version *Prototype and not sold (unreleased) Finally the finished product!! Really... this is the way it should be released right!? The one who wanted to manufacture this was Max Factory themselves!! I'm counting on you everyone!! Zoalord Dr. Balcus *Test Shot only (unreleased) Even though the soft vinyl version of this existed.... what a waste, right. Everyone was expecting to have this produced next, the request was turned down. It's okay right, old man.

Guyver Visual Data Files scanlation project
As we all know, a few decades ago the Japanese had difficulty with spelling in english. Since the VDF was done during that time, they may have learned to correct their spelling over time. I think that in the later volumes, there are much more consistencies in their naming convention. So any new information officially released should be considered the correct spelling. I still find the name Kablarl funny. It sounds so cartoony despite his ominous looks.

The copyright is for Takaya Production and Tokuma Shouten, so they own the rights to the VDF. This was also from the editorial department of Shonen Captain. Well, as I mentioned earlier the publisher was Matsuen Mitsuo, and since all of these information was compiled using existing materials, they only need a person in-charge of gathering all the data. The last name of the Staff indicates that the one in charge is Suzuki Toshihiro. I don't think that this has a single author. Think of this as a special feature magazine, where you have many authors contributing.

Restarting the translation for the VDF. Here are the comments of Mr. Takaya about the BFC. VDF-069 Page 144 MAX FACTORY GARAGE KITS ALL CATALOG The first Guyver and Zoanoid creatures that was created by Takaya Yoshiki... Those heroes whose designs which attracted many fans Those creatures which were completely surpervised under Mr. Takaya, assembled in 3D model!! Hoping to recieve the "prejudiced" comment of Mr. Takaya in his solid merchandise 1/12 Guyver Biofighter Collection Series The Biofighter Collection is the core of the [bioboost Armor Guyver] garage kit series (Known as B.F.C.). Coating all of the parts has all sorts of topic gathered. These perfected proportion were directly supervised by Mr. Takaya. Again, movable gimmick and detacheable parts were the ideal new experiments. No. 1 Bioboost Armor Guyver I Price inlcuding tax 2,060 Yen (List Price 2,000 Yen) Commemorating the the First Kit of the BFC. Item used as the basis for the series, the only one that was developed for more than six months. As a compromise it is a strong figure and I have no complaints about the kit. No. 2 Zoanoid Gregol Price including tax 1,648 Yen (List price 1,600 Yen) It was difficult to mold the shoulder joint. Not only for this Gregol, but the reproduced details of this BFC series is one of the selling points. No. 3 Zoanoid Vamore This is a kit where you can play with the opening function of the beam cannon in the shoulders. My assistant, keeps on opening the pinvise, and can be illuminated with just a simple light bulb. No. 4 Zoanoid Ramotith Price including tax 1,648 yen (list price 1,600 yen) The first small fry Character No. 1. One of my favorites. The face is good, proportion and fur detail is superb. Being a regular character, it would be good to have a lot of color variation. This is a white guy. No. 5 Bioboost Armor Guyver II Price including tax 2,060 yen (list price 2,000 yen) This is the biggest among the three guyvers. It's because his body is that of a foreigner. The original video anime version has Guyver II having a macho charm, this is a good kit even without that. The parts are similar to that of Guyver I. No. 6 Zoanoid Zerberbuth price including tax 2,226 yen (list price 2,200 yen) Not only does the shoulder have a joint, the upper arm can only be articulated independently, to be played differently. The shoulder armor springs alive like an crusty insect which is good. What is regretful is the small size. No. 7 Hyper Zoanoid Zx-tole price including tax 2,472 yen (list price 2,400 yen) A ZX-tole kit version that is even popular with the author. Just look at the greatness of the proportion! In addition to the mobility of the Zerberbuth it can also achieve different pose. If only the beam cannon can open and close it would be perfect.... perhaps it's impossible Page 145 No. 8 Hyper Zoanoid Dazerb price including tax 2,369 yen (list price 2,300 yen) The proportion is perfect. The problem is how you make it stand. You have to put something heavy on the feet. The eye coating has a sensation of being a small resin, covering it up would make it more handsome. No. 9 Hyper Zoanoid Gaster price including tax 2,472 yen (list price 2,400 yen) There is illuminous material in the living missle on the nozzle of the shoulder. Since it lights you can leave it in the dark and it lights up. The crest of the missle and head part are made plastic in parts with splendid difficult. No. 10 Hyper Zoanoid Thancrus price including tax 2,369 yen (list price 2,300 yen) Continuing on the missle of Gaster, both hands of this guy is luminous. Namely the high frequency blade luights up. Additionally, if you use the unecessary portion of the luminous parts, you can make the high frequency sword of the Guyver light up...somehow No. 11 Hyper Zoanoid Elegen price including tax 2,678 yen (list price 2,600 yen) Somehow only the head is the moveable part, the unique half fixed kit in the series. Comparing to the ZX-tole this is quite lonely, and even though you can't pose it the body line has a good feeling of detail. No. 12 Zoanoid Enzyme price including tax 2,884 yen (list price 2,800 yen) The design concept of a zoanoid is basically not a "Creature" or a "freak". However, this guy is different. This is a kit that greatly freakishness of Enzyme. The representation of the fur is cool. No. 13 Battle Member WITH Segawa Mizuki price including tax 2,884 yen (list price 2,800 yen) This is a nice battle member. I'd like at least 10 of these. However, I'd have to get a lot of these. Although there is not much on Mizuki, there are color coding on the parts, as an extra there are eye decals. Of course I was the one who drew it. No. 14 Bioboost Armor Guyver III price including tax 2,472 yen (list price 2,400 yen) The black guy who sold pretty well. As expected of the 3rd guyvers, the parts have a feel of sharpness, and it is splendid. A soft vinyl, the texture is quite regretful. No. 15 Hyper Zoanoid Enzyme II price including tax 3,296 yen (list price 3,200 yen) The dreadful volume put together! The body comprises 4 extended arms on the back... These multiple extended arm parts are troublesome. Since 1 arm has 9 parts. But I am completely satisfied when it was finished. Also, it is articulated. No. 16 Aptom 2 (Fusion version) price including tax 3,708 yen (list price 3,600 yen) Even though there is no aptom 1 (fake Guyver) made how could this be!? The beam cannon opening is similar to that of Vamore. The chest part is similar to Enzyme II, with this recieving those arms how much poseability will this have...? No. 17 ZX-tole (Fully open mode) price including tax 4,326 yen (list price 4,200 yen) A special kit that has the special beam cannon set of Zx-tle the Final, a limited edition version. If you collect this with the normal Zx-tole, you will have all the variation from the movie. No. 18 Protozoalord [Murakami] price including tax 2.884 yen (list price 2,800 yen) Among the series, the most handsome creature, the appearance of Murakami. There is nothing more I can say to this. Aside from the standard right hand, it also has the "cutting wave hand blade (both hands). It's very cool. No. 19 Aptom 4 (Dazerb absorbed ver) price including tax 3,708 yen (list price 3,600 yen) A giant kit that combines Gaster, Dazerb and Elegen/ Is there any other merchandise that is as mid form as this!? Perhaps the lost Number Panadyme and Onuma's grandfather.... but, this is good.

OMG! taking a peek at the Bio-fighter collection, those text under the image of each figures are not general information, but comments from Mr. Takaya himself. In light of the new information, it is now a necessity to translate those as well.

I'll jump ahead to the publisher's information since it's needed. The text is a little blurred, but I can still make out a few characters. This is from Shonen Captain, and the publisher is Matsuen Mitsuo. It is copyrighted by something-something (sorry, the image is illegible) Productions and Tokuma Shoten. Interesting to note that this book is also called Roman Album.

*sigh* And here I thought I'm done with this. I don't usually do things half-assed, but I guess that's what happens when I do things half-assed. Well, since the interview was the priority then and nobody seemed to care much for the pages after, I thought of leaving it as is. If there is a request, then I am obliged to finish it. Just give me some room to restart the momentum.

What live-action series are you watching or have you watched?
I can tell you at least it's not dark, moody or slightly depressing. It is filled with mystery but it is not depressing. Well, in my point of view anyway. It also depends on how you define depressing. At least there aren't a lot of character deaths like in Ryuki. Or is there? I wouldn't know since I'm only halfway through the series.
-
What live-action series are you watching or have you watched?
What~? 2 episodes? That's not enough to get you hooked. The main protagonist is the one who looks like a housekeeper doing all sorts of chores and specializes in tending to the backyard garden. I think you'll be able to relate to him like how you relate to Shinji in Ryuki.

page: Masked Rider Agito
Just so that people might be aware that I'm currently working on this. Quite a good series if you asked me and I would recommend anyone starting to appreciate Kamen Rider to not miss this. I've been lazy as of late so I haven't been doing any work on the wiki lately. Another reason why I started this is because I might need help looking for images to go with the character profiles. The way I'm going, this will be a clone of the Japanese wiki, and I would rather that we be different, if not in content, at least in the formatting. It's too early for me to do the music and lyrics section, so I'll hold that off for now. Though the opening theme is quite catchy. "Ready to go, Count Zero. Kamen Rider Agito~" hehehehe.

This is the discussion topic for the wiki article: Masked Rider Agito

What live-action series are you watching or have you watched?
Speaking of Ryuki, the main rider in Agito, Tsugami Shouichi, is somewhat similar to that of Shinji in Ryuki. Well in Agito, Shouichi is a carefree amnesiac who is very skilled in house chores. Their demeanor and outlook seems to be quite similar. Both care passionately for their friends, and the only difference is that one is skillful while the other is clumsy. This is speaking of their character only of course. You know, thinking about it now, Yusuke (Kuuga), Shouichi (Agito) and Shinji (Ryuki) have similar personalities.

Books and Novels
I can't decide on what to read next. As I have mentioned previously, I am considering reading the hunger games trilogy. But I chanced upon the Song of Fire and Ice series by George Martin, which also seems to be a good book. This was the source of the HBO special a game of thrones. George Martin also happens to be the writer of one of my favorite stories, the Sandkings. What do you guys think?
