I posted this over on the Rob Liefeld forums in their "Comic Book Cribs" thread. Figured since it has so much Guyver I should post it here too. The comic book rack has a section dedicated to Guyver comics, though its not shown here(I have every comic published by Viz, in english, on it). Ok, so its not much... But here is my little corner. My computer, and my comic stand. still need to frame a few pictures and put them up, but otherwise this is it! I can only hope that one day soon we move into a house where I can have an entire room dedicated to the cause! Some close ups of the Guyvers/Zoanoids. Guyver 2, Gigantic Guyver, Neo Zektole Aptom, Guyver 3, Guyver 1 Note: Guyver 1 and Guyver 2 still need to be re-posed. Last time I was dusting them they lost that certain flare to their stance. I like to re-pose all the characters every once in a while just to change it up, but yeah. They got a little out of wack and I still havent got around to fixing them.

I'm agnostic. My fiancée is Wiccan. Almost everything you think is "Christmassy" is actually "Yuley". They were nice enough to allow you to share their holiday back in 200 BC, so most of your(that is if you celebrate Christmas!) traditions are actually derived from the festival of Yule.

Is the WG's power level too high?

Twilight, I don't know you're real name so please excuse me for not calling you by it. Go read Strange World, its in the Warrior Guyver fan fiction (that is if you haven’t read it already!). He fights a fully powered Alkanphel in it. It shows us that he is no where near all powerful. Seven days in hell has quite a few good fights that let us know what’s what as well. The idea that he would have to give up his all powerful ability to save his wife is another nice addition. It leads to the concept that maybe one time she'll be in more danger than he is, which forces him to relinquish said Gigantic module and thereby get himself killed in the process... That is if seven days in hell was ever finished... or any subsequent sequels after it... -
My misses and me celebrated the Yule as of the 21st. It's a wiccan thing. Very festive.

The Eden chick is just another Empath who has to talk to get her point across. This means she's not all that powerful to begin with. Empaths are another generic super power. Its like super strength or super speed, and barely worth mention. Nikki/Jessica's son is a mix between either our previously mentioned Forge character, or the widely popular Cable who has a technokinetic ability that allows him to psychically control technological items. There is no original thought left, only unoriginal ideas. And please... Skyhigh? Not to be insulting, but that Movie was retarded and a blatant attempt by Disney to capitalize on the current Super Hero Movie craze. Heh. Thanks for the names though. I'm horrible with names.

Is the WG's power level too high?

He doesn’t need a rewrite to be the Dreadnought. He's one on his own. This guy has more "Cannons" then you can shake a lemon at. His attacks are so numerous they are quantified! Oh yeah baby, you know what I'm talking about http://www.warriorguyver.com/wgfanfic/d ... nought.htm And that's why they call him a "Matrix Enhanced Warrior Guyver Gigantic". And I think the term you're looking for on the "Huge" market is "Juggernaut" IE -
Tim Sale is doing most of the character creation and concept art in this. He's a big DC guy, though I'm pretty sure he's worked with Marvel too. One of the biggest writers in comics is the co-executive producer. You'll see him write a show or two during the 11 episode run(Jeff Loeb). Spoiler. Hiro is the only character I can't put my finger on. All the others are almost direct copies of pre-existing archetypes. Forgive me, I'm horrible with names if they aren’t actual super hero names, but the roll down on the knock offs. Peter - Gideon of New Mutants and X-Force fame. Having the ability to absorb another "Mutants" powers when in proximity to said "Mutant" is his deal. Blonde stripper lady - Bruce Banner, IE the Hulk. I mean how much closer can you get? Normal strength in one personality, then a sub persona that is ungodly strong and inherently aggressive compared to the primary persona. Definitely the Hulk Blonde Stripper lady's husband(he played in Buffy the Vampire slayer season 5, he was the second guy after riley in the initiative) - This guy is so Kitty Pryde. Shadowcat, for those of you unaware, has the ability to phase through solid matter. Yup, dead ringer. Peter's Brother - Well he's not really any one Super Hero, he just has the ability to fly... This is so generic its not worth further mention. The Cheerleader - Logan, Wolverine... Take your pick. This one was obvious. I kept yelling out how she needed her adamantium skeleton installed quick before someone tried to rip out her brain again. Heh. Radiation Man - Ok so Marvel and DC have about 6 of these each. I'm not even going to go into the indy market, but needless to say, this is generic and overdone as well. Pretty sure DC's "The Radiation Man" predates the rest, so we'll go with him, ok? The Cop - Ok, so all this guy needs is a 900 number of his own and one of those authentic Caribbean accents and he's a dead ringer for Miss Cleo. Yeah... Reading minds, another generic... Lets just call him Charles X and let him set up a school for "gifted youngsters". Sylar - Forge. The ability to see how thinks work, mechanically even at the molecular level. If you don’t know who forge is, he's another one of those X-Men character we've grown so fond of over the years. Though I'd have to say the way Sylar is implementing the changes in his own DNA/RNA is closer is resemblance to Rogue(come on people, The Avengers Annual #10 in your back issue bin!). The Painter who sees the future - is a little new on me. Everyone keeps shouting out that its a Gary Stew/Mary Sue. Tim Sale as Tim Sale if you know what I mean. It's probably the only other original creation besides Hiro. If I've missed anyone... They probably didn’t bare mention. Well the Hessian might have... But we all know his just another generic empath mixed with the Morloc Leech, so I figured I wouldn’t spill the beans on that one.

This site was a fan fiction site back in the days of tripod and.. Angelfire was it? It's been so long! WarriorGuyver.com is an overall Guyver Fan Site. We appeal to anything and everyone Guyver. Though I'll admit the totalitarian rule over this message board was a bit brash at points, it was required to keep order, and to keep everything as friendly as possible. Flamers must die. The RPG people who used to play their game on this board were offended by Brian asking them to find another place to play which lead to a lot of the conflict and overall inactivity of this board in the first place. But they judged his actions harshly without understanding the ramifications of their continued play on his server. In short, it was bogging down the overall site it was so huge. Anyways, I don't hate on theguyver.net but WarriorGuyver.com is still my Guyver message board of choice. And slowly, but surely, it has been rebuilding its population. Hopefully it will continue to do so.

Is the WG's power level too high?
TheGuyversWill replied to exscaped_pyscho's topic in Warrior Guyver Fan-Fiction
Actually from dictionary.com Also I think the Transformers used it at some point as well. It was the decepticons main warship if memory serves me correct. -
Yeah check out the power amplifiers on the calves and forearms. Plus the thing has the same configuration of blades as the classic Guyver 1. It even has a space for a control medallion.
-
Control Medal short for medallion.

Just consider the Dreadnought a really nice "Level up". -
What's in the future?
TheGuyversWill replied to exscaped_pyscho's topic in Warrior Guyver Fan-Fiction
You have to at least attempt to think like a creator, and/or another alien species. Just because something is small doesn’t mean its not powerful. I mean you could say, in the future, create a nuke that would fit in the palm of your hand, just because it was small doesn’t mean its still not going to kill. Oh even better real world example! In Vietnam people would send their children out into the middle of soldiers strapped and loaded with bombs. These kids were thought not to be a threat so they were allowed to mingle with the soldiers, and then boom. But this only works once. But yeah, the main point is just because a guyver is smaller than a dinosaur doesn’t mean its more covert. In war, you learn to shoot the little kid before he explodes, and then nail his mom in the bushes with your trusty M-30 Carbine. If the creators were to opt for Dino's it would have to be for a more basic reason. Either more bio-kinetic energy production due to mass and size, or something along the lines of liking the baser instinctual intellect of the creature over the calculated and cunning human. It would be more of an attempt to remove the Guyver equation from the Unit-G. I could run with this one for hours. -
Preach it brotha'!

What's in the future?
TheGuyversWill replied to exscaped_pyscho's topic in Warrior Guyver Fan-Fiction
I don't know... If I was leaning in the direction of the manga my ideas on dragons would be a furthered mythos of dinosaurs. We know the advents created a few after the dawn of mankind (or at least re-created them). Maybe they left a few behind and they continued to survive just long enough to be mentioned in early spoken lore. This spoken lore wove its way down the grapevine like some nefarious wave bent on breaching the coast of written lore, making its way into our hearts to this day. Just a thought. You could have some really gnarly mutation projects started by the advents to try to further extend the reaches of the dinosaur project as the ultimate warrior, seeing the human possibly as a lost cause in their long line of failures in the Earth projects. Heh! -
*Holds up a really big sword* *Shouts* "I HAVE THE POWER!!!" *And all is right in the world* PS: Thanks

Why rewrite the fanfiction?
TheGuyversWill replied to guyverfanatic's topic in Warrior Guyver Fan-Fiction
You must admit though, since the introduction of just the idea of the chronicles, the rest of the writers have become relaxed. Someone else is doing their work for them, and better than they could quite possibly pull off (Brian, Matt, James, you have to agree with me here, Mike just blows most writers out of the water, we all bow to Mike). What’s the point of continuing on? The only thing I fear is that we'll never see seven days finished up. I mean I know Brian said he stepped down and what have you, but he's still out there! I still see him on messengers! he even post over here from time to time. And damnit, he said that wasn’t the end of seven days in hell! yet its been over a year! over a year and still we have yet to see another part of this. I already know this story, I've read every last chapter three or four times, I've been hooked on this stuff since 98, and while a rewrite is nice, this is a fan fiction. Look back at south park! I'm not sure if you guys are big fans of south park, but they had an episode where they highlighted the fact that directors shouldn’t be able to change their old films (IE add new and improved special effects, or change scenes because it didn’t come out the way they wanted it 20 years ago). once these things hit the internet and people start reading them, they aren’t just yours anymore. The entire fan base has partial ownership. The story becomes part of us, and the fun of the fiction in the first place is that it doesn’t have to fit into normal guyver concepts. If that were the case you wouldn’t have more than three guyvers to start with (4 my bad... my bad). My point is, the fun of the fan fictions is that they aren’t the manga, they are as far removed from the manga as one can get. They only have a few key characters that are direct copies, and by this time even those characters have been changed much by events, that they are no longer those characters we learned to love from the manga, they are warrior guyver sho, and warrior guyver agito. Instead of clearing up all these cute little facts, like how the first Guyver Zoalord just wasn’t as strong as he should be, we should be seeing a new beefed up version come and pound the living hell out of Jason and his comrades. Instead of going back and rewriting the power and strength of the Gigantic Guyver, why not just add a line here or there from Sho saying "Damn dude, I never knew this ****ing thing had such a kick, seems I wasn’t using it to its full potential." I know, I'm ranting, but damnit, I want to see Jason save the world again, and not just a rehash of how he did it before! Peace, Will
