I don't think the human had anything to do with why Guyver0 attacked. I admit though that some of my reasoning could be erroneous and directly contradictory to some of the facts in the manga that I can't remember rightly. The Creators put a guyver unit on their creation - a creation they controlled. The question is how they controlled it. Did the Creators just talk and expect to be obeyed, or like Alkanphel, did they have mental control over their creations? I go with that theory. Alkanphel can directly control any Zoa-form. So I believe the Creators could control their creations. So they could control the human. Then they stuck the Guyver unit on the human. The human is probably thinking 'all is good, all is right, I'm with the Gods' but the Unit feels the mental command and interprets it as an attack and bingo, mass slaughter of everything else sent to stop it. So yep, it's a form of defence mode but I do like Adolphus' suggestion of attack instinct being the only one left. Plus I thought there was a time, just after Sho got the unit where he was unconscious. So once Guyver0 began attacking back, and the Creators couldn't maintain mental control, they thought it 'rebelled' and did everything they could to stop it. Even if they thought it was defence mode, which they might, then the Unit really should have recognised others - those on the Creators - and not attacked them but I don't think they'd have destroyed Guyver0 unless they thought they were at risk. Having a bio-engineered super-weapon that you can't control is a pretty big risk.

Looks wise Alkanphel is very modern, so that puts him as being quite young - comparatively, which leads to a question of why other humans looked so primitive. So perhaps Alkanphel just remembers them. One of the implications I'm remembering though was that the Creators were here and created all sorts of life forms - lots of them! Some of which I believe went through several mass extinctions, which to me would imply that the Creators didn't like their first attempts and wiped them out. This is shown when Murakami is explaining the history of Chronos, which you could say is a human misconception of time but it also happens when Sho is in the ship in Mt Minakami. The ship shows him a lot of different life forms, including dinosaurs and life from the ice age about 10,000 years back. Then it shows him ape like humans. It's hard to say what they are. They could be Australopithecus afarensis which are about 3.5million years old. If you wanted to push it, you could say they were Homo erectus but I'd probably say Homo habilis. (yes, I went to Wiki for a quick time line search of human evolution.) The next page shows a bald modern human, but with a lot of species in the background, species that definitely have mass extinctions between them. Why do I bring this up? Just to say that the Creators were on Earth for a very long time and if they were responsible for one attempted mass extinction, then who's to say that they weren't responsible for the others? Whatever survives those mass extinctions has to be stronger than the others species that died. And that's what they wanted. (Which leads me to an off-topic and disturbing thought that there could have been several versions of Alkanphel or an Alkanphel type being to lead the others. T-Rex Alkanphel anyone?) What does this say about Alkanphel? I'd say that he's definitely not 3 million years old, unless they somehow came up with a modern human then had to evolve the rest, or the Creators evolved Alkanphel with the rest of the humans so that during Homo habilis' time, that's what he looked like. As has been said, it's difficult to say and I'd have to look through my manga a bit more to see more references. I know I'm forgetting some useful pages. Based simply off the way he looks, 300,000 years with the Ice Age that the asteriod caused being the most recent one, which doesn't necessarily fit with other evidence. But to take a bite at the cherry each way, you could say he's 2-3 million years old too but that makes him very young when he stopped the Asteriod. The implication from the what I got to check, is that it was a modern human with a Guyver that caused the Creators to leave. Which doesn't invalidate Alkanphel being 2-3million years old, just means that either they created him to be modern or they evolved him with the rest.

Lord Spleach, I actually think the animation style didn't help the 2005 series either. The backgrounds were nice, but they were old style and that just didn't work as well as it should have to me. They looked washed out, which with the more modern animation style made it seem like there was a disconnect. It took me a while to put my finger on that. Guyver anime got released in Australia, partially I believe because one of the executives of Madman is a fan. Or was a fan. Who knows anymore. It takes a lot of loyalty to remain with a series that's as flakey as Guyver has been over time. I genuinely don't think Guyver's lack of success is a fans fault. We buy the manga. We buy the anime. We buy the models. Hell this is the only scanlation I buy the volumes in Japanese. (I do agree with the policy but let's face it, how many other scanlations do you really buy the manga for?) I've been saying for years it's the rate of release that is at fault - that and the fact that I think he's lost the plot and doesn't know how to end. A break could have been worked around. But the continued slowness and stop start nature, those can't be worked around. Fans want regular releases of content. With no breaks. Sickness, okay sure, there's some sympathy but years worth of break without reason - no one cares. I don't read that much manga anymore but what other one comes out at such a slow pace? What we get monthly we should be getting weekly! Things like Attack on Titan and Full Metal Alchemist are/were monthly manga's and you got 50 pages or so. Weekly mangas get away with releasing between 10 to 18 so that is an issue. One Piece, which is insanely popular, the author is sick every few months. Not a problem. Why, because in the months when he's not sick, the manga comes out regularly, like clockwork, with 16-20 pages a month with a plot that actually goes somewhere - though I admit sometimes that plot is slow.... DBZ might be the only slower plot that I can think of off hand. Guyver could have been absolutely huge, if it had a regular release of a decent amount, YEARS back when it first came out. Then it would be remembered as the first of its genre rather than what it is now, as has been said, looking like a copy cat. The lack of storyline is one of the main reasons I decided to write my long Guyver fanfic. Because I was sick and tired of waiting for a finish and Takaya was taking a long break and I couldn't find out why. When I went to Japan earlier this year, I was looking forward to buying some of the manga but it was darn hard to find in any shop and those that had it carried 1-2 volumes, and only the latest volumes - IF they carried them at all. And I went through at least 50 model shops, both for new models and second hand and honestly, I don't even remember seeing a Guyver Model. I'm sure they were there, but I saw a heap more Devilman models and of course bazillions of Gundam models. After all this time, we should be glad someone is still publishing it rather than just killing it but unless Guyvers plot ends soon, I think there is probably a used by date on how long someone publishes it.

The car industry is heading for collapse.
Jade Tatsu replied to Jess♥'s topic in General 'whatever'.
Sorry I probably wasn't clear. When I said they would market a Commodore or a Falcon it will probably be something re-badged for the Aussie market. Though that remains to be seen. It's a pity they will not longer be around as for us motorsport you are either a Ford Fan or a Holden Fan. There is no middle ground! -
Weather: how is it in your area, etc, etc...
Jade Tatsu replied to Chernaudi's topic in General 'whatever'.
I work in an industry that is related to the weather and believe me the cycle in Aussie land is about 7 years drought 3 years flood or 'normal' rain. We get big bush fires every 20 years or so and large floods every 15 years or so. That's what the record shows but our droughts could be anything from 7 to 10 years or more so water is really something we tend to watch - not so much now, we are just coming out of our few years of rain but we will be watching it more carefully soon. This weekend promised to have minor flooding in some areas of my state- nothing major. Minor flooding just means some cow paddocks get a bit wet. But more rain will equal more flooding because everything it wetted down, except we haven't been getting that much rain, just a lot of wind. I hope the humid goes away for you. Humid sucks more than heat. -
The car industry is heading for collapse.
Jade Tatsu replied to Jess♥'s topic in General 'whatever'.
GM and Ford will not be building cars in Australia for much longer. Design maybe, build, no way. they are whinging that they didn't get enough govt subsidy. They will probably still market a Commodore and a Falcon though as those are the two main stays here but it might be a rebadged Mustang or something similar. Australia gets a lot of EU spec cars built in weird and wonderful places though we are still left side of the road... one of the few hold outs. If Japan changes, we are fubar'd. -
ROFL I love the picture. It's an interesting question since I love both Guyver and Devilman mangas... though Akira lost in the end... It's been a while since I read Devilman but you appear to be taking his abilities from all known sources when I thought the manga one was a bit more simple. Has there been anything speculated on what can damage a Guyver CM? Because depending on that answer, then the fight would default go to Sho, though Miki and Mizuki are more likely to go out for tea and stop the two of them before anything serious happened. Devilman v Aptom could also be very interesting.

Sho and Friends How would Sho and His Friends Return To A Normal Life?
Jade Tatsu replied to a topic in Guyver
I wouldn't say that's their only chance of happiness. Happiness is esoteric, you can find it where you look for it or where you are prepared to accept it. As has been stated, the world is a very different place from what they grew up in so they have to adapt for that, and most likely by the time Chronos is down, Sho, Mizuki, Tetsuro etc will be well known. Additionally, Agitio - assuming that he's in control, he will spin some tale that makes him a hero but he'll need to have helpers, so they will probably be quite famous for helping him. Agito may even want them in Government to keep an eye on them. So they might find themselves in official positions they can't back out of but that doesn't mean they can't still be happy. Sure they'd be leaders or even figure heads but that would be the new normal for them. So if the question is how can they fit into normal society as a salary man - like Sho's father - probably not - he's not cut out for it anymore either. Can you imagine something like The Impossibles - the super hero guyver working a normal job? The first time that Sho disagreed strongly or saw something wrong, all hell would break loose. Or even Tetsuro - he'd just be too smart for the job or too full of ideas to do it better. But how can they fit into society with the position and the abilities they have used in the war, then yes, they can fit in, and probably be quite happy about it - though that may not be really what they have stated they want. Aptom is probably going to be a soldier forever. That's too much a part of his adult life for him to give up or to be able to give up easily but if he wanted training in other skills that would most likely be available. And my answer is kind of rambly... there's a lot of assumptions and if and buts and maybes in there... -

Jade Tatsu replied to Jess♥'s topic in General 'whatever'.
By 2018 the car industry in my country won't have collapsed, it will have gone. They are all pulling out. We are 'too expensive'. So everything will be imported. That can't be good for the global climate situation. -

Hahaha! you people in summer It's bucketing rain in winter here. http://www.bom.gov.au/ will tell you about the country's conditions. Though we really need more rain as it appears we are heading back into an El Nino and that will be bad. -
A bit late - or a lot late - Guyverfan I'd suggest you go read the books. It will explain Varys very well.

Heisei Rider VS Showa Rider Taisen Feat. Super Sentai
Jade Tatsu replied to Toku Warrior's topic in Japanese Entertainment
Hehehe.... I am going to be in Japan when it comes out -
Obviously there is the mentioned - Fanfiction.net There is also Archive of our own (A03 or AO3) https://archiveofourown.org/ <- good in that you can download the fic in several formats Warrior Guyver seems to have a fan fic archive for non Warrior Guyver fics but I have no idea how to get stuff on to there but I'm sure someone here knows. Apart from that while I'm sure there are other places, and there have been a lot of pages over time, I've been out of Guyver Communities for a while so I don't know where else you might post. Though seriously if people want bigger text on their web-browser, don't you just reset the zoom? Control-mouse-scroll is great

The price of art doesn't matter what the artist thinks it's worth really. I'm sorry to the artists but it's true. Art is like most other things in the world, it's really only worth how much someone will pay for it. Yes, that is a very pragmatic view and sure the supplies used to make the art might cost more than what the final work is sold for but in the end, if someone doesn't buy it, you can have the prettiest pieces on the wall or sculpted and they don't mean a thing. I do appreciate that for some works you are paying for the skill of the artist not the materials. With my comments I'm not saying that the art shouldn't be worth more, just that sometimes, it's not. So Odin, if you are going to sell artwork, you might want to test the waters first and find out if there is a market for your work. I know that in my country we have a lot of art shows devoted to 'new artists' where they can display their work in larger galleries and in conventions for lots of people to see which may give them a kick start. But generally it's hard to make a full time living as an artist even with the govt grants we have. A slightly different example may help. Tapestry or cross stitch - which I am familiar with - you can buy them on ebay - completed works. Believe me the cost of them, even at $500 is NOT worth the time of the stitcher. Those things take DAYS to complete and while I appreciate I'm not the fastest stitcher, I'm not that slow so I know how long it took me to finish one and yeah the price they want on Ebay, is not the price they are truly worth but that's all that they will sell for - and often they won't even sell then.

At first I thought it was something coming in to attack Aptom and Sho given the background in one of the scenes... then they continue talking as if they didn't notice the vortex above them.... but then Guyot... so it was rather confusing and my Japanese just isn't up to translating. Yeah, I thought most monthlys were 50 pages... at least 20!
-
Sigh... yeah... just.... I really hope he doesn't die or suffer other complications before he finishes because 11 pages for a monthly... while more than I can draw, is just not that great. Sorry for the very negative vibe. Continuation is good... just slow.
-
It does look interesting... but as I'm sure many people have pointed out.... 11 pages... I'll take what I can get but 11 pages a month! Does Takaya have another job?

Fic gift for Ladena (Aiuke) and Lucithea
Jade Tatsu replied to Jade Tatsu's topic in LET'S CREATING!
LOL i'm the opposite to be honest. We had a power outage the other day (planned) and I'd charged the laptops so I managed to get a lot done. Not the most productive writing day I've had 'cos I actually went back to paper for a bit, which I find very relaxing and good for some scenes as it forces me to write slower and thus think a bit better, but the lack of internet was a good thing. Do you actually have to check that much? Although I admit at the moment I'm procrastinating on a piece because I haven't had the time to either re-read volumes 1-8 or watch the OAV 12 ep series for a line I'm sure Agito said! -
Fic gift for Ladena (Aiuke) and Lucithea
Jade Tatsu replied to Jade Tatsu's topic in LET'S CREATING!
I understand your feelings Chernaudi. No matter how fast I wrote this one, most of my fics are written at a much more sedate pace. You really just have to keep plugging at it. Even if you don't get as much as you want done, writing just a little bit a day will eventually get it done and even if you can't get something done each day... you have to try and not get down when you can't. Which is advice I'm sure you already know. You don't need to get too technical with things either... I find sometimes we can bog ourselves down with trying to figure out plausible explanations for some stuff when the explanation makes no difference to the fic... at that point shove what you want in and you can probably skip over the explanation if you go fast enough So you've been working on chapter 10 for over a month- big deal! The important thing is you are still working on it! you haven't given up. I'll look around for the discussion threads when I'm not about to run out the door -
Fic gift for Ladena (Aiuke) and Lucithea
Jade Tatsu replied to Jade Tatsu's topic in LET'S CREATING!
Ah! I don't know Twilight at all - despite what my signature might indicate Though if it's a cross over, if the balance is good then it will entertain fans of both. I read a ... Thundercats/Guyver cross over a while back... I know nothing about Thundercats but I liked seeing Sho and the interpretation of what had happened at the fall of Chronos. I made things easy with this one. The opening scene, from which Ladena's picture comes from, explains why they are working together as well as a few other issues that have to be dealt with. Then we move on in time and I cover about 500 years with this fic with one far future ending scene. But this one is not for everyone either and not just cos of the OCs. I'm a stickler for cannon characters so the OCs are there but not major, the relationships contained probably put a few people off but that's individual choice. Where have you posted (if you have) your fic Chernaudi? You should start a thread for it (if you haven't and I'm just being blind in not seeing it) Edit: sigh I really didn't have them wandering around in space long enough in this fic.... -
Yeah you are having way too much fun with that! And making me feel guilty 'cos I can't write that fast and had to overhaul things! But hugs and loves and thank yous! Because Sho looks awesome!

Fic gift for Ladena (Aiuke) and Lucithea
Jade Tatsu replied to Jade Tatsu's topic in LET'S CREATING!
No worries Ryuki, though you should go browse the piccies at least! They are worth it. ' And to be honest I have to admit that this one is a bit of a chore to read.... kinda... I didn't break it into chapters since I didn't write it in chapters. So you have a very long one shot fic in one chapter... There are headings though for anyone going OMG I'm not reading a slab of text! I tried to make it readable at least. It's a fic where the Guyvers and Chronos have to co-operate so I thought it was an interesting concept. -

LOL Natsuki, playing with fire... and winning -
Says the lady who gave me the picture to go with this ficlet! You're pretty fabulous yourself! Plus you did that trans for Fox, so I'm sure she agrees.

<- Picture by Ladena (Aiuke) Now the ficlet... This was just a throw away thing I wrote one day when I was thinking about something else. I've never posted it anywhere, though I did give it to Ladena and she drew that awesome picture... It's been so long that I even forget who's POV it was meant to be from! === Makishima Agito was a proud man. That's why, though he was hand cuffed on the walk to the execution platform, he was not concerned, he was not cowed, despite the four Hyper Zoanoids surrounding him, their claws dripping enzymic fluid. He'd been in that situation before. He was a Guyver and every time Chronos executed him, his control medallion simply bided its time and regenerated him. That was probably why he thought this was amusing, why there was an air of arrogance about him. He had said he would destroy Chronos and he had been trying for three hundred years. Eventually, because they could not kill him he would succeed. That was his arrogance. "It is inevitable." That had been his catch cry for centuries; a mocking statement taken from one of the Chronos Lords, a catch cry it was rumoured that the High Command of Chronos used themselves. Makishima Agito was a proud man. He even maintained that pride until he looked upon the face of the Supreme Lord of Chronos. "It is inevitable." I remember that man's voice was soft but it carried over the crowds that had gathered to see the Guyver's Execution and contained a note that I never expected; surety, sadness, confidence, frustration, happiness, discontent... I wasn't sure which because at the time I couldn't see the man who was guarded by Aptom and Alkanphel. I only understood when he stepped forward to attend to Makishima's final demise that it was none of the above. It's been over two hundred years since that day, the war with the Advents has been fought and won with bone chilling finality, Chronos is now a major power in the universe, their Lords rule whole star systems, whole races, but I know nothing has changed. His voice was broken. "It is inevitable." It was the voice of a man who had no hope to fight but it was also the voice of the man who rules Chronos to this day, who rules the Universe. It was the voice of a man looking for death but who knew it could not come. He is immortal, ageless, tired and broken; someone who did not want what had been forced upon them. "It is inevitable." === Thank you for reading.
