After finishing The Conquered, I had some time and I got talking Ladena, especially since she had drawn me some absolutely fabulous pictures. Anyway when I was looking through her deviant art account, something you should all do, I found some other images which were awesome. Now... me being a writer, since they referred to a Guyver AU universe, I assumed there was this fic in Russian and frankly I was jealous! I was missing out on this great fic.... I wanted to read it and I would have put up with Google Translate! However, when I got talking to Ladena, she told me that unfortunately no, there was no fic but I pestered for the general outline and with permission I wrote her some of the scenes from her fic. It developed into something much longer than I thought it would be. I THOUGHT it would be a novella... it turned into a short novel. But I had a blast writing it and it got written... very quickly. So before I post some links to it... I'm going to post some links to the artwork that inspired it. If that happens I will go to Japan and slap Mr. Takaya for going that route. That would be IMHO a rather horrendous way to direct the story unless one of the Zoalords brings some sense to Alky when all hell breaks loose. I honestly cannot add to the discussion as there is too little information to go by. There's just too many ways this could go. River Chaos, I think if that happened you might be having to fight your way to the beginning of the line to get to Takaya. At this point in time... I don't really care about plot development. I think he lost the plot a while back to be honest. I'm just hoping he finishes before he dies!

I hope so though I just hope that the characters aren't rampantly stupid. That will make me stop watching pretty fast.

Has anyone actually read the source material? It's pretty graphic and if you think the series is complicated, they are simplifying a bit, though I understand why. The whole point though is that there is no traditional good guy. The only person who could have carried the good guy off was Ned Stark and we all know what happened to him. It was giong to happen to him the instant he accepted Robert's proposal. It's meant to be a more realistic take on medieval fantasy. Lord of the Rings is great, it really is, but it's clean compared to GOT. LotR characters are pretty idealised while GOT has characters that are driven by their own desires - and all of this has probably been pointed out slightly earlier in the thread than where I started reading - sorry. I don't like some characters, then I like them and all that. obviously there are some that are just bad, but I think that's a pretty good thing, it means they were designed well. Joffrey for example... he doesn't have many redeeming features but if you think about how he was raised, he doesn't have much reason to. One thing I do think will be pretty lame though is that if Dany 'wins' in the end... depending on how you define winning. It's just too obvious and too predictable but we shall see. Two more books I think to go and the White Walkers ... oh yeah! I am so looking forward to the end of fourth season. It won't end with a battle, like Blackwater Bay but in many ways it's ending (or what I presume will be the ending from reading the books (though I'm not much passed that point) will be awesome!

For a plan that he's supposedly had a long time to think about, I think he would have worked out some way of avoiding having Zoanoids controlled by the Advents. So even though we don't know about it, there is something there. Maybe he was relying on their will or the basic design of a zoanoid includes something. If Alkanphel is going for revenge, then I doubt he'd take anything less than what he considered overwhelming power. I tend to agree though, there does not seem to be any weapons on the Advent ships. The Ark is armed but it takes way too much energy to fire the weapon we saw! Though... playing devils advocate, what if Alkanphel isn't going to fight the Advents... he could be going to show them that their experiment was a success and that they should now use humans as they wanted to originally.

LOL that's about the same place I am actually Durendal. A lot of people at work have been demanding it though each week so they are happy with it. The first couple of episodes were interesting though but I hope the ending isn't disappointing. I actually like the fact that the seasons are short

Ladena, as I've told you in other places that is absolutely BRILLIANT... though Larz Zahn is correct, probably a little bit more gold BUT I DO LOVE it as it is. Kind of like it's forming thought rather than fully there yet or something like that. I wish I could draw. Though The Conquered is going to be finished soon. As I said in a previous post, I'm TRYING to get it done this year. And at the moment I'm on schedule for that.

Scaling down probably did help and I apologise for bringing up what is probably a dead topic. I remember the old site, it was about Guyver - that was all. And frankly that's all I care for so I never even looked at the other sections. About all I can offer is some advice but don't exclude people and as you are already doing delegate Then remember you delegated and if they aren't doing stuff, then find someone else. I had fun working on the original scans 'cos I remember scanning my volumes and then doing what is today not a great job of cleaning but at the time we wanted to put out something - not necessarily the highest quality. Translation wise, we wanted it good, but we didn't care at the time if it looked a bit rough, simply because it is and I think still remains the only scanlation of Guyver and if it's a bit rough it encouraged readers to buy the real thing for a nice smooth picture and stuff like that. I'm pretty sure I have all the volumes to 26 or so and will shop soon for the rest But don't beat yourself up Ryuki (bleh, that name does not suit you!) and go with paragraph 3.

Yaoi-ish themes are good Guyver has so many that aren't actually explored, I believe because of the mostly male fanbase but oh well... Which is not to say that males don't go for yaoi - at times - just that predominantly I do, and I believe most people, think of screaming fangirls. But some very nice work

Meh, I was usually around for the Guyver Chapters but not much else. Though again - how have you been? It's been a few years now so I'm curious. Ryuki - don't worry about the old thread As I said, it was really only me posting new chapter notifications. This one has more talk.

My only problem with this new Robocop is not it, by itself but what it and others like it such as Judge Dredd mean for Hollywood. I appreciate Ryuki's arguments that sometimes it's good to see a remake and sure they can make them look beautiful using more modern cinematography but what does it say about creativity and pushing of new ideas? Now a lot of new movies you can say are based on or inspired by or just plain rip off other movies and finding a completely new idea is difficult, but a remake isn't even trying. Don't get me wrong, I go to them and enjoy them a lot but sometimes I can't help but wonder what would happen if we didn't get flat out remakes and got something new. Though by that same token, I have to admit there are some good new things coming out too! Back to Robocop... I hope it's good... though the hand is probably their way of saying they are different from the original series or maybe to try to make him more of a cyborg. Last version because so much of his body was robotic, you could have almost made the argument that he wasn't a proper cyborg.

You could steal the lance and yes, I read up a bit in the mean time about the crystals. I could have sworn I remembered them all being external but no matter. Yes, I am aware of the retraction system Blade has for the lance but even though that is very strong, it could theoretically be cut and his own weapon would damage himself. Even if you just grabbed it while it's been retracted and rode it in. Yes he'd dodge but you control the angles and might be able to get in an attack. Honestly though I don't think you can say that one system is 'better' than another. They were imagined by different people for different purposes and have been assigned different arbitrary strengths. I imagine if Guyver was to be released now, the strengths of the armour would be different because the author knows more as time goes on, or thinks other things would be more likely. Purely strength to strength the Tekka system does seem to have the better defences and single 'brute force' attack but as has been said previously the Guyver has a greater variety of weapons and attacks that are based on differing principles which would give at least some opening and chance to attack. As I said previously I think the main bet would be on the sonic and vibration blades since regardless of how dense and protective armour is, sonic and vibration blades just don't attack in quite the same way as brute force.

Now that I've read up, some of what i said previously should be dis-regarded since my memory is faulty They really did massively over power the Tekkaman system. I think I like the Guyver system better. While Guyver may not win in a VoltTekka versus Megasmasher competition or in relative armor strength (has the strength of the Guyver Armor really been tested?) the Guyver does have a larger variety of weapons to call upon and I think much better spatial perception. I think the best bet would be to rely on the sonic weapons as those will damage things that usually are indestructible, especially if the frequencies are correct... Or put the Guyver into automatic. Or steal the lance. But why are they fighting... they are both the good guys so wouldn't they be off having a beer?

Not having watched Tekkaman for ... quite some time... I thought the healing of a Guyver would be far better than the Tekka-men. From what I remember damage to them seemed to be pretty permanent until they could rest and regenerate which wasn't necessarily quick. The other 'weaknesses' I remember but I stand to be corrected is that the lance could be taken by someone else and their crystals were external to themselves, where as none of the Guyver's weapons can be removed, and the parasite is stored nice and safe in the boost dimension, there is no known way to cut the connection between the host and the parasite. I have to ask, in which Tekkaman did Blade take that nuke? The original (1975) or one of the later ones? If someone could kindly answer that, I may or may not be able to make a case for the Guyver but it will depend on the answer.

Rant directed at no one - HURRY UP BAKA BT!

From the New World - Shin Sekai Yori - just started but looks good in a creepy sort of way. There's all sorts of questions that have yet to be answered. K - another new season one, looks a bit like Durarara but I could be wrong since I've only watched one ep. Except every second character can literally blow stuff up or has other 'powers'. Hopefully it will become clear as to what is happening. I don't necessarily like the animation style that much though. Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai - Every have anything embarrassing you want to forget? Well the main character in this one does but he's not allowed to forget it by the people around him. This one is a little bit too fanservicey for me but I'm not sure where it's going so I'll keep watching for a few eps.

Okay so the boost creature didn't have any of the funky powers which to me makes it all the more likely that unless Aptom got his hands on a Control medallion the weaponry is not going to be transferred if he just gets a sample from the Guyver. Maybe if we look at it in another way. The Control Medallion has all the weapons and information while the parasite is simply an energy source, which by itself just eats the host and doesn't have any major abilities. that would mean that all Aptom gets if he manages to say get an arm off Sho is another potential form of energy, not anything special.
