I tend to view the more cultural and historical reasons for the existence of traditional western angels and demons. The Angels started off as guardians of pagan gods in babylonia, and demons were really an adaptation of thousands of years of myths from countless European legends and pagan religions to create demons. Before that in the old testament they were simply cursed monsters descent from Kain and Lilith. I find that many cultures and religions share many of the same concepts in demons and angelic beings. I used to think it was rather odd until I learned that Jews had progressed as far as Japan during the time of Rome dominence. Which might give a reason why these similar story's came about.

purgstal all the way because unlike most of the others, he's actually got a conscience. Also, I like his zoaform even if others say it looks corny.

Yeah, that is a nice idea. I remember there being many puzzle like concepts in physical forms being theorized as a means of communication. But why use something as temporary as a crop circle, it wont last, and it's hard to read unless your in the air. Unless they are using Buddhist ideas in how communicating art functions, then I really can't make it out as a logical choice. In fiction, one movie had a mathematical problem that turns out to be a puzzle, then in turn when solved turns out to be a recording of a TV broadcast some 50 years prior. Then upon looking closer they discover blueprints for a device as well. (I think that is the order of events) The movie was "Contact" which in all honesty, had a pretty good concept of how we would react with such an actual contact. Though it's possible aliens may not even be as straightforward as the movie was... and in the move it was already vague to begin with.

oh wow! Now that is a beauty. Now this I would actually like to see human beings take up as a commonly fun pastime. Like I said, I doubt crop circles are their main form of communicating, unless it's culturally related to them. Then why all the kidnapping of country hicks and senseless murder of farmland livestock? Really sound more like the work of teenage delinquents... albeit alien ones. If you were an alein and had a lot of spare time, wouldn't you toy around with another species perception and reactions? We do it all the time with our pets, wild animals, and one another as a species. So if aliens were really behind many of them, then I doubt it was a serious attempt to communicate with us. This is assuming they share any of our concepts of communication...

Youn Guyver I never said "speech" (search the entire thread, the word is not even on this page aside from this very post), I said "communicate." I also suggested that the form of communication is most likely math. The flaw with all this geometry you see in crop circles (like I mentioned before) is that we've all seen it already in mathematical and scientific essays. In other words, these crop circles were fakes using little known HUMAN theories. Aliens would of likely of done something much less.... plagiaristic... There's a ton of problems weeding out he fakes. Some of them include ruling out really "perfect" crop circles. They use to eliminate fake crop circles by their quality, such as uneven curves and oddities in the pattern. But it's recently be shown how to make crop circles look perfectly curved, and it's a simple matter of using basic math in outlining a pattern. So lots of crop coracles over the years that were held as legitimates were debunked by new research, and thus a great number of them are no longer considered legitimate. This inclues crop circles from as far back as 50 years being debunked, and many of those were used as legitimate examples for years... Do you see it now, the problems presented to such research? With all these silly problems, I'd rather focus on studying radio signals from outerspace. We have heard some incredibly amazing things in recent years.

I been retracing my steps on the study of crop circles as a kid. Wow, so much has changed, I can't really keep up with it. It would take me months to relearn everything about the topic. But one thing is for certain... almost everything we've seen in presented in crop circles is related to something we published. Including little known mathematical geometry going as far back as the 1904 and some are direct responses to human attempts to contact extraterrestrial life. For example, there was a mathematical response to a question related to the shape of the universe and one crop circle...weather manmade or not has it shown as a symbol suggesting a 2 interwoven pyramids (like a 3D shape of the star of David.) Another was a response to a radio broadcast and seemed to hint of a reply to the human gene pool. None the less, everything so far has been related to human communication and even culture. Overall it really is doubtful that aliens would communicate in such a manner. When it comes down to it, it's probably going to be a visual/sound related method in real time based on math that can be translated to language. But really, I'm no longer in the loop for this stuff, even though it's become much more advanced in study and with much more science thrown in then when I was a kid, it's still a fools hobby and exactly why I wouldn't bother with it again. I'd rather go back to trying to find Hitlers burned and buried body in the former USSR.

yes Durendal, you totaly got what I was trying to convey. Altough the franchise staples have been a great success over the decades, it's really running out of innovative ideas as to how to improve over itself. A little legroom is needed to keep it feeling fresh.
-
maybe. But in my eyes, they are what these franchises can be changed to correct the change. They aren't necessarily changes that have to be made, but they are meant to illustrate a point. These franchises have yet to try to reach older fans.

It's not a matter of dark and moody. I actually enjoy a bit of flashiness myself. But I do appreciate practicality. If you are trying to be a discrete and effective heroic combatant, you do not do the following: 1.Announce your attack names... this gives your enemy way to many hints as to how to beat you. 2.You try to sneak into an enemy base... why are you wearing bright yellow and pink? 3.All those cool moves and powers, but you don't seem to realize that using the finisher at the start would avoid the needless waste of energy spent in the actual battle. 4.Using military live combat tactics should be a given... so why do these guys fight purposely in battles in battles that could otherwise be fought more cleverly? 5.W-Wait, you have the ability to transform your motorcycle into a deadly weapon. Yet you don't use the build in weapons or it's super speed and traveling abilities as much as you should, thus causing needless females in your group to be kidnapped and allies killed because you decided to run across half the city then summon the bike our your traveling abilities. That's just a few qualms. I don't mind mindless fun, but every so often, I would like development to move beyond that of the mentality of a 12 year old's fanfiction. They do all the good backstory and personality of the characters correctly, but not anything else related to the plot... it's a weird needless trade off. So think about it, if you were were a Kamen Rider and you had the ability to alter your look. Woudn't you want to get a design that actualy benifits the battle? Meh, Maybe I'll set up a artist's impression of wa Kamen Rider mixed with some of those traits. I am in no way wanting to change all of the stuff, and make it dark and moody. But I do want something can looks less cartoonish.

you know, when you are near a lake there is no natural wind barriers aside from some trees, but if it's plain area, then you are guaranteed to have fields of flat grass. Sometimes that is not the case though and there is another explanation, the shifting of soil due to rains, once you have a minor sink deposit under the dirt, everything starts caving in a slight angle, but it's not always noticeable. Though it's very noticeable when you see a car or house collapse do to one. I have a friend who claims to of scene UFO's, I myself had an encounter with an odd phenomena some years ago too as a child, and still never figured out what happened that night.

Virtually all crop circles are fake man made creations. But on occasion there have been some weird unexplained ones. Overall, I see no reason for advanced aliens of another planet to graffiti our crops unless they are mindless vandalizing drunk youths in a space ship.

He has a point, when will these shows actualy take a step in a realistic direction. Realy, if the US did a power rangers unit in real life. They would not be bright andshiny spandex wearing people. No, they would be badass looking guys who probably would have a camp look and maybe a few important visual trade identifying their rank or style of combat. Just fuse a ragular Sentai characte with this image and you might get a better idea of how cool a new series could be.

lol I think you have Ryuki. I think it was to two Anime's One was Guyver, the other I forgot.

In that case you'll be happier watching the anime shippuden since you love the cast so much and the music. That's fitting and probably worth going through the sluggish start in the series. The movies are sorta okay, the first Naruto movie was great. It really had a good plot and some nice action scenes. But after that movie, all the others tended to involve Recycled plots. Granted there are big differences, but if you notice, they have the exact same boring formula. In at least two movies he spends a good 30 minutes just getting beat up by one baddie. 3 of the movies have the same type of loudmouth, unfaithful, and untrusting female who eventually likes Naruto. None of the movies make sense. What they do all have in common on the good side is great music, animation, and some awesome fight scenes, and a fair amount of killing. But in the end, they just feel like big budget fillers to me. Don't get me wrong, as a Naruto fan you'll probably enjoy them enough, but as an actual standalone none Naruto themed movie, it would of sunk like a rock in the Japanese box office. Edit: Oh and yes. I have to admit, Rock Lee easily had some of the best humor and fight scenes of all the characters in the series. He's such an enduring and happy go lucky character. Same goes for Gaara who's easily one of the best things to show up in any anime as a redeemable villain.

Shippuden... hmm kinda hard to say, even the main plot is horribly slow because they stretched out every little thing in the first story arc. They fix it later in the season though. In my opinion, I think it better to switch to the Manga at this point. I will tell you one thing though, they do have some great battles, and plots, but it's really surrounded by unwanted crap. Another option is to watch the movies. But only the first naruto movie is really worth watching. Not sure about the most recent Shippuden movie (3rd shippuuden movie) though. It looks good when compared to the others. Edit: I have to say this. Naruto was a really great series despite the fillers. So many memorable moments, especially Gaara's insanity, Lee's bizarre relationship (and his fight with Gaara). Having the pleasure of seeing Orochimaru's brimming evil. Shikimaru's awesome underdog smarts. See m very first 'unbelievably cool' moment, seeing Zabuza take out Gato and his men despite his limp arms and countless impalement's... oh and of course Jiraiya being talked into training by Naruto via Sexy no Jutsu. There definately isn't going to be too many series topping this one out. SO I ask you this Ryuki, how was the overall expereince?
-
Ah, when it comes to favorites. It's easily Shikimaru. I can relate to his desire for laziness and starting a family (and dying before the wife, ). Of course there are so many great characters in the series such as Rock Leee, Gaara, Shino, Kiba, and others. I do wish though that Naruto's creator took an active role in the fillers. Unlike him, Bleach's fillers actualy have the manga artist contribute art and story to them, and it's proven to be much more successful then Naruto's cringe filled fillers.
-
Have to admit, it's the best trade off we can get. But the title was just an example. The Summary's are going to be such a challenge to all contributors. Well, I'll review the contributions later and see if anything should be changed. I'll make sure to add a note as well just in case we should revise and reverse it. Oh and thanks for your time in explaining Ryuki.

I see, somehow I remember Viz releasing more. Silly me. As for the grammar, I meant that some of it sounds a bit strange. But like I said I was reluctant to change any because it may distract from the meaning. Also I know that the occasional Japanese translation when used sounds weird because of the lack of plurals. So titles like "STRONG OPPONENT!! THE TWO LOST NUMBERS" makes me want to add a S to "OPPONENT" because "STRONG OPPONENTS!! THE TWO LOST NUMBERS" sounds more correct to me. But meh. That's just me. Everything else, on this topic I can't help with because I suck at Japanese and can't even read it.
-
Are you avoiding the American Viz versions of the titles 9of the few released ones)? I figured it be easier to use them, then start off with the later ones. I can look at some of the grammar, but I'm not sure if i should really fix some of it.

what a great idea. Though I'm not sure if the currancy would have the zoalords actual zoaforms revealed.

Justice league Flash, even in the comics is funny. Well after watching justice league crisis on two earths I couldn't but help compare them,. Especially after the Flash was hypnotized. He's like "Wait a minute!? This is like the Jedi Mind Trick!" Spiderman in similar situations often comments in humorous fashion. Like when he fought Mr.Sinister in the comics. Sinister is annoyed by spiderman asking him "What manner of a creature are you?" Spiderman's response: "Me? At least I don't look like I wash my face with toothpaste." Purely classic! XD anyways, to continue the thread. Current desktop.
