thanks for checking on that dam. wow, that is really bad planning!
  2. yeah nescafe is only a coffee brand in the uk as far as I know. I only mentioned it because you mentioned UCC being a brand that is sold off the shelf. Kenco is also an off the shelf brand. The ones you listed, I have not heard of except for starbucks and dunkin doughnuts. Starbucks is in hte uk, but dunkin doughnuts, I saw in South Korea. Some of those you mentioned, may well be available in London, manchester or liverpool (and other major cities that I'm not so familiar with.)
  3. looks amazing! you just did it now, it is so impressive. i think you must be getting very proficient at spriting. I can't really criticise him as he is right now. i think that sprite would look great in the game.
  4. good luck with your move!! i'm looking forward to seeing the updates. so gregole will be soon? heh hehe that should be good.
  5. yes. my reputation will be for not wasting time on extra unnecessary things when simply trying to explain an idea. producers initially use storyboards and rough sketches to convey ideas. I honestly just wish you would respect my decision here. If I feel the idea merit's being brought to a wider audience, then I will increase the production values accordingly. As it happens, I am not currently interested in gaining a lot of attention. I only made it to get feedback from those who know me well enough and respect me enough to watch it without judging the quality of the presentation.
  6. ah right! I see I put it into google thinking it was a country over here in the UK and maybe other western countries, there is Starbucks, Costa, cafe Nero, Kenco, Nescafe,
  7. yes. and sodium can be especially bad, or so we are told. it is a law in the UK that all foods must be labelled accurately with their ingredients. All the asian products that are imported must have a label affixed to them before they can go on sale translating teh ingredients and clarifying what substances are in there. I generally always check the ingredients before I buy. interestingly, 'healthy boy' sweet soy sauce has no preservatives of flavour enhancers in it, but normal and light soy sauce has MSG and other preservatives in them. So If I want to buy regular soy sauce, I have to go for the more expensive 'kikkoman'.
  8. sorry, need to clarify on this as it's not 100% accurate. glutamic acid occurs naturally in many foods in some form or another. monosodium glutamate is a salt of glutamic acid. I don't think I need to say that a salt has different ramifications to a naturally occurring acid. msg does not occur naturally
  9. Wow! that's pretty damn awesome!! you're selling stuff... and you're teaching your craft! so lucky!! I also plan to be teaching my craft as soon as we get a centre to use.
  10. The ginger was subtle. it was less prominent than what I would expect to find in a ginger bread man. For some reason the drink reminded me of hot chocolate but I'm certain there was no actual chocolate in it.
  11. Hey Durendal, I was under the impression that you were not Chinese? Maybe I got that wrong, but please don't misunderstand what I said. MSG is present in any and all chinese food I have had access to. perhaps traditional chinese cooking does not add MSG, depending on where you come from, but the products I bought that were produced by chinese companies, contained MSG. that is a fact. The foods that I can reference off hand are licensed Nissin cup noodles, manufactured in china for the chinese market. also, Beef Jerky and soy sauce. Don't get me wrong, I am confident that your cooking and the cooking of your friends and relatives are chemical free. I am of course talking about the mass market as you did bring up the commercial state of food in this thread.
  12. i have to comment on that. not that what you said is in any way false or misleading, but one important thing to bear in mid is slow release foods such as potatoes, bread, oats, etc. if the starchy foods are good quality, then the body is happy until next meal. but if the food is made with bad ingredients and delivers most of it's nutrition through sugars, etc. then the body will clearly not be happy. in other words, a person who eats fruit loops for breakfast will have a problem, but a person who eats healthy organic porridge for breakfast will probably be fine.
  13. I can understand your frustration guys. This is the main reason why I have not already visited America. Here in the uk, I can usually be mostly confident that the food I buy is good. Recently, I have been buying the majority of my fruit and vegetables from the supermarket. it makes me sad because I don't think i am getting as good as what I normally buy from the green grocer. but it will do for now until I get into my new place. it is surprising that much of teh food over there does not contain vegetables or that vegetables are not seen as important. for me, I do not feel like I have eaten properly unless I have had something green and fibrous. today I plan to cook broccoli and some eggs and maybe something else. I like to experiment with some different types of things, some beans, some pulses, some kind of vegetable sauce, onion and tomato maybe.. I don't like to eat foods that have to have an ingredients list. if it's already made, then it has got to be something like rice crackers or something that is difficult for me to make myself. otherwise i make it. That way I know there is no MSG in it. It's a shame a lot of thai and chinese products also love to throw loads of MSG in it. Korean foods are excellent for being healthy and japanese foods as well. at least in my experience. hey Youngguyver, our apples are brown? yeah some varieties are. we have many many varieties of apples. I believe a russet is brown. but a granny smith is a lime green with red bits. golden delicious is light green/yellow . a cox is usually red. we have access to lots of tasty fruit. I wonder if it is all good though. it is certainly tasty but maybe it would be even more tasty if I got it from an organic farm.
  14. Recently, I have been living with some Indian guys. I experienced tea how Indians have it normally. it is very interesting. they have this in their version of mcdonalds instead of cola or other soft drink. It is milk tea. wow, I am amazed at how nice this is and I never thought it could be made like this! they made it in a pan, boiled the milk in the pan with the tea bag in it and they added chopped ginger and sugar. Very nice of them to share it with me. it tasted very nice! it was like a milkshake kinda, except hot, and ginger.

Good news. I found a new place. should be moving around the 30th. current place, I really didn't like from the first time I saw it. but I had no choice at that time. now I've had a while to search for a more suitable place and I found somewhere really nice.
  16. Kids from your area maybe. but kids from wales might have a hard job. That;s not to say your english isn't good. it's that they are not accustomed to the accent. There is a good chance the kids round your area might find it difficult to understand me.
  17. oh yeah, is that the mach 4 aircraft? I'm really looking forward to it.
  18. I believe ramirez's pronunciation is exaggerated due to the kids watching who might find his accent confusing. think about a non native english speaker and then think about kids trying to understand. it's better if they enunciate clearly.
  19. The main reason why Israel are not tried in the international courts for war crimes is because the man in charge of Palestine in the gaza strip is not willing to take them to court for some reason. That part was skipped over a little because information seems to be scant. the people in gaza are mystified and don't understand why the man who is supposed to be working for them, is not working for them. I did a bit of research and it does seem that the Israel campaign in the Gaza strip was in response to repeated Palestinian missile strikes. This may be the case, but it seems clear that Israel targeted indiscriminately and caused many civilian casualties. Most notable was the clear evidence of DIME attacks. severed limbs that had been cauterized, etc. Also, there has been a massive imbalance in the number of fatalities on either side. I'm not certain if any of this is officially ratified though. All I know is what was made very clear by the drawings that were produced by the children who lived through it. Children's drawings, depicting fire, destroyed buildings, tanks, bulldozers, helicopters, all firing on civilian targets and bodies laying dismembered and bleeding on the ground. It's hard to take in.
  20. that's a real pain in the backside! I don't understand why those companies turn away a customer like that. I have never experienced anything like that in the uk. I mean, I have never heard of a sim that is designed to not work in an unlocked phone. seems ridiculous. I mean, what if somebody just bought a phone outright? they would deny the customer? are they stupid? maybe this is one of the reasons the US economy is suffering so much.
  21. How many of you know that there are people, families, children, trapped in a 7km wide piece of land, unable to go anywhere and being bombarded by weapons designed to maim and kill people indiscriminately? I went to a talk today. I like to think I know about things going on in the world... but there is much I do not know. I want to try and change the world a little today with information. These are not weapons designed to take out military targets. these are not weapons designed to take out infrastructure. these are weapons, designed specifically to kill people and maim those not in the direct vicinity. Men, women and children. There are children who go to school traumatised because they do not know when the next weapon will rain down on them taking away their family and friends. and on occasions, their buildings are bulldozed with them still inside. if they run outside they get shot. This is happening in our world today. not in the past. It happens on a daily basis. I am not telling you this to appeal to you to do anything. there is not much anyone can realistically do unless they wish to donate to some organisations that are helping. that is not why I am writing this. I just want people to be aware. Please pass it on.

aww, I'm a bit sad you never kept me up to speed on that I'm currently sort of learning java in order to develop games. I recall we were talking about working together on something game related in the past. keep me in the loop bro and we might be able to work together on some project in the future. oh btw, I have a good personal friend who moved to Edinburgh. I can't recall where you said you lived but there's a chance you might cross paths some day. If you ever meet a Polish guy called Adam, drop my name in. Also, he bugs me to visit Edinburgh so one day I might be in the area. sorry to hear about your gaming sites. it's a little sad that you couldn't speak your mind about various issues.
  23. I'd like to see more advances in off planet construction and space habitats, etc. I can't imagine how things would be travelling to other worlds with our current state of the art landing craft and space suits etc. That's always been something that floats into my mind when NASA talk about space travel. how clunky and fragile our current systems are.
  24. I don't know how it works in america, only the uk. I might guess that it is similar to if I got a pre-pay sim here. in that case, the sim itself is free and they usually charge the amount that is 'pre-loaded' if you get my meaning. so I would imagine I pay £5 for a pre-pay sim and that comes with £5 of credit. then I could top up that credit in convenience stores and other national chains. I think you can also top up with credit card, but I dunno if it works with international credit cards. should do I guess.
