what do you reckon, one piece is more like pokemon than it is like naruto?

that was so awesome, really enjoyed it!

i think it's impossible to watch doraemon. http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=1078 nobody is making it english. i think one piece is the series i need to stick with for now. and perhaps dragonball shortly. actually... i think doraemon is aimed at youngsters so maybe i can watch it with no subtitles. but it seems the raw episodes are released in HD format. alas my coputer cannot handle that kind of thing these days ;_; so hey, I watched 2 more episodes of one piece. it's getting better. I think i need to adjust to it.

fullmetal panic was great I hated the ones that followed it though. although, i believe it was because i watched the first one in english and grew to love the voice actor's portrayal of sagara. then could not get the later ones in english. I have actually watched a few anime, I watched the first FMA anime. it's perhaps surprising because i'm not typically an anime fan, but there have been periods of my life where i did watch major anime series. if you say fma brotherhood is a superior version of anime to the original series, i can get on board with that. from what i remember the series was good, though it dragged heavily in places. so i will keep that in mind as an anime to watch in future. at the present time... i want something major. with hundreds of episodes. i don't think FMA will have that many so for now I won't be approaching it. one piece has hundreds of episodes so it fits that criteria. but there is also dragonball. i may try and get ahold of that. somebody put me off bleach, can't remember why. i think those are the only major popular long running series i have been told about. also, I really loved tenchi muyo. I watched tenchi muyo ryo-ohki so that is what i will always view as the original in my mind, although it may be wildly different from... was it even based on a manga? i'm not sure.

i will only watch a fansub anyway. it's a little tricky to get hold of, especially after episode 274 but i'm sure i'll figure something out. to be honest, I think i'm grieving for naruto. I want something like naruto but i doubt i will find anything that will fit the bill. I need to see one piece for it's own strengths and try not to miss some of the beautiful music and scenery i have got used to. i was also interested in seeing dragonball but i am finding it tough to find info on it since it is overshadowed by dragonball z. I think i want to watch dragonball before dragonball z. well actually, i won't watch z, i'll watch kai.

i watched the first episode of one piece today. i think it's a little entertaining but not fully liking it after that first episode. I'll watch more to give it a chance but i don't see anything gripping so far. well with naruto, i liked it from before i even watched any. i liked it from the atmosphere of the game demo on my xbox. that's pretty special if you ask me. so i'm really not sure.

is the anime equal though? i mean, if I rather watch anime, is this the number 1 choice still?
-
I like naruto, it's great. and i'm not planning on betraying naruto by replacing it or anything, but now it is only 1 episode a week so I'd like to supplement my viewing with something else. there are a few series that are given similar attention... these are dragonball, bleach, one piece... any more? well what are your thoughts and recommendations on these?

ha ha ha yeah ironic

ah i understand. then they had those insanely long amount of spoilers. i can understand that. the beginning of shippuuden was like that. i think most of the pain was waiting for some progress and not getting much. having read the manga, I think that pain should be absent and we can simply enjoy the animation and characterisation. I watched episode 161 yesterday and really enjoyed it even though i actually knew what was gonna happen this time. actually, they added in extra. like i would have had no idea that konohamaru's friends were not in the manga. so i take that and i am happy for it. I like the music and i like the voice acting so i can't 'not' watch the anime. in fact I am considering re-watching the whole lot from episode 1. but of course i do understand the pain of episodes that drag on.
-
in what way? do you mean that you thought it was badly animated? i mean literally. or was it something about pacing? I don't recall any issues with it.

i decided that i like the anime of naruto so much that i would watch it even if i knew the story, so i have started reading the manga. so I'm not sure how i can use this thread now if people are not keeping up with the manga? well my views on manga versus anime. manga is confusing in many places. there are times when i look at a panel and trying to figure out exactly what it's supposed to be. times when the story is not very clear because the drawings are quite quick and aren't paced well. one scene can skip to another without any real indication. it's after reading this, i really appreciate the fine work that yoshiki takaya does on guyver. guyver is always very clear on what is going on. so while it's great to know the story and the manga is very good, the anime is far superior since it pads out the characters, fills in the movements in the fights and paces it very well.

ok i shan't read it , let me know when it happens in the anime and i can look. well now i am up to date! i just watched episode 160 last night. and i have subscribed to takasubs twitter feed so i'll be able to keep up to date with it. so...

ha ha, that was awesome it's so nice when people do that kind of thing, bring joy to a lot of people.

actf would be pronounced much similar to english, I'll write it as i would understand it in japanese phonology. ei shi chi efu. heres a pic, first one is anti kuronosu tasuku foosu, and the second one speaks for itself. p.s. thanks durendal for the extra info. that makes me think it's even more suitable.
-
you're right about tai meaning vs. it's used in tai gaibaa, meaning guyver killer zoanoid, or anti guyver zoanoid, literally versus guyver zoanoid. however, i would agree that it may not be suitable here. i'm not sure about jaaku though either. that would suggest to me that it is a chronos squadron that is dark? i did a bit of research anyway and found the way to say anti-something - han. so it would be sentai no han kuronosu 戦隊の反クロノス or possibly han kuronosu sentai 反クロノス戦隊...

i'll give you some words. naka 中 - inside ue 上 - above shita 下 - below inu 犬 - dog tori 鳥 - bird kagi かぎ - key teburu テーブル - table ie 家 - house kuruma 車 - car implimentation - inu wa teburu no shita ni imasu 犬はテーブルの下にいます。 tori wa ie no ue ni imasu 鳥は家の上にいます。 kagi wa kuruma no naka ni arimasu かぎは車の中にあります。 some more interesting stuff i have been thinking about. 車 - kuruma, sha - car 電 - inazuma, den - electricity 話 - hanashi, wa - talking 自転 - jiten - rotation 電車 - densha - electric car - train. 電話 - denwa - electric talking - phone. 自転車 - jitensha - rotation car - bicycle. (and for a change, most of this was straight from outta my head, no reference. i must be getting good )

yeah naruto would probably become a juunin. i say probably, because he is still pretty reckless. i think a lot of the time he gets lucky. but since a very big event that i spoiler'd up there.. i actually think naruto will start to mature somewhat. i am hoping that he will train under the 2 sages. favourite akatsuki? has to be itachi. very special reason for that... you'd have to be fairly up to date to understand why. i'll spoiler it here - p.s. I'm about ten episodes behind.
-
wow! good luck with it all dude!!
-
well even up to now... isn't naruto still a genin? i don't see any sign of that changing either. he is so wrapped up in missions that they don't seem to get the chance to actually put him through the exams.

that is the skill of the naruto series. in many series, we have the main character and the series focuses mainly on them and the rest are just secondary characters, not too developed. but in naruto, the other characters all seem to be incredibly well developed. the beauty is that they get just as much if not more development and screen time as naruto himself. of course we always know the main character cannot die. we know naruto cannot die. but as for all the other characters... they are not safe. they can die. and they do. it's a very good story telling style. although of course makes it tough for the viewer to watch at times. very emotional. up to this point, i can say this is unlike any other anime i ever saw. i think of other anime as 'lesser' than this. like not as good. in this respect i won't consider naruto as 'anime', rather i will consider it as a great story that happens to be anime. the depth of this is even surpassing a final fantasy game and it is very rare for any anime series to have that kind of depth.

you need to speak it to read it. you can get some idea of what is going on by the meaning of the kanji, but without knowing the grammar structure, all you get is a few vague ideas. anyway, spectre, this is toku warriors blog. if you want to talk about japanese learning, maybe you can talk about it in the japanese learning thread, or make one. either toku warrior doesn't actually mind you writing this in here or he is too polite to ask you to stop. either way, it could be considered rude. there are a number of people on here with knowledge of japanese so make a thread or post in a related thread and you'll get some good responses.

not unless it is a vital part of the story following the manga. anyway, a lot seems to have happened.

wow, that's kinda disgraceful that the authorised repair would do that.

so is it a case of the option menu items being missing, or that they were simply disabled? because i realise that if my quick buttons weren't working, I would go into my menu and set them, but of course if that were the case then you probably already did that and so it was more of a annoyance than an actual problem?
