If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?

I'd buy and pay off a lot of things. Lets see...

- Pay off credit card debt.

- Pay off my wife's college loans.

- Buy a new house with an inside pool...or have one built.

- Never work again.

- Get a doctors appointment and have them run some tests to see whether I am healthy or have cancer, that costs money and maybe get good health insurance.

- Buy a drenn load of PS4/ PS3 games. Future consoles etc.

Out side of the important stuff I would pay someone to translate a lot of manga and anime for me. Hell i might even find a way to get Guyver and Devilman games made.

I would do all the normal stuff, like house and debts etc...

But the one thing I'd want to do is have a video game idea I have made. Most likely for the 3DS. And I wouldn't be one of those shady and cheap owners either, and would only release the game when it was ready. Because I could.

I was thinking of how I could spend a million the other day. Seemed pretty easy. But since you're talking multi-millionaire... I'll see what I can do!

- Buy a house + bedroom and lounge packages (king size bed, couches etc)

- Build a studio room in said house and buy recording gear + drums.

- Buy another house, and rent it out to someone.

- Give a fair amount of cash to various family members.

- Get ESP to make me a custom shop guitar to my specs.

- Get a local guitar builder to make me a custom guitar to my specs.

- Buy this awesome acoustic guitar I have at my work.

- Buy 3-4 used rare guitars I've seen online recently.

- Buy a new amp.

- Upgrade PC + monitor + other PC related things (chair, keyboard etc)

- New TV, fridge, washing machine, clothes dryer, PS4 etc

- Pay for my band's album printing and pressing.

- Put some money into the local music community.

- Put money into my TV show and upgrade the hell out of the set, cameras etc.

- Buy a classic muscle car (used, of course).

- Holiday with partner to Europe.

- Holiday with family and friend to Europe again.

- Holiday to Japan, Canada and USA.

I'd love to own my own music venue, but how multi-millionaire are we talking here?

I'll use it to make an investment and increase as well as expand my portfolio. That way I can retire early and live off of the Dividends.

This is actually the first mistake many people make. Thinking that they hit the jackpot, they spend it all at once and exhaust their fortunes early. They don't think about how to sustain resources and use it to increase their wealth. This is the number one reason why the rich gets richer.

acouple million dollars sounds alot and good, but if not used/invested properly, isn't very much.

lets face it, even if you have your own home already, you're gonna wanna move into or build a nicer home that isn't a shoe box in a nice area. and then furnish it, with that said, there goes an easy million! beleive it or not, that still won't get you into the upper part of town! hehehe. but thats ok, just somewhere nice would suit me.

then comes investments, i don't want to work for the rest of my life, who does? some investment in stocks would be needed, but what to look for. are you looking for growth or returns? you'll need abit of both to out way market fluctuations so you'll receive a return. but, you need to research as alot of large companies that have paid out dividends in the past may not pay out in the future years, or pay out very little. and its hard to get good financial advice from planners who don't have freinds that won't profit from the advice they'll give you!

most large dividend companys trade upwards of $55@share. and only payout about .22cents-$1.50@share.

so, on top of market investments, i'll need a cash investment too. rental propeties are always are sound investment, but also carry expenses, so any gross profit i can expect from property, i can be sure to subtract upwards of 55% for repairs, bills and tax's.

maybe buy a business, sounds good, but i don't want to work so it would have to be managed for me. so i can only expect maybe 10% of total takings after wages and expenses, remembering it would be a low cap business as i have less than a million to buy it.

then i'll have to take into consideration my overall income for tax time.

most fully franked dividends are payed upto 30%. i may have to pay more tax on them.

so, divisification is the way to go, but i don't want to work for the rest of my life!....so is acouple million dollars enough?........nope! but it would make life alot easier and happier, could maybe drop down to only working 2days a week instead of 6! and retirement would be sweet.
