odin Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 It is a very well made trailer, I have always wondered how they would handle Cap in the present day without being in the avengers, here it is hoping it is as good as it looks cause this is THE marvel movie that has me the most excited. Quote
durendal Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I'm a Huge Cap fan. I won't miss this for the world. I see he's also sporting the Captain Rogers uniform. Way cool. I like how the falcon looks. I want to see more of the encounter between Cap and the Winter Soldier. I didn't like the way Cap was portrayed in the Avengers. They made him look like a circus monkey. Hopefully this will redeem everything. And hopefully, come Avengers: Age of Ultron, he will become the main protagonist, instead of how they relegated that role to Tony Stark in the first avengers movie. Quote
Larz Zahn Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I keep forgetting that it's not common knowledge about Bucky. I'm talking to people about this movie and I'm like, i can't wait to Swede Bucky in this and they're like, Bucky died! 1 Quote
Salkafar Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Is there anyone else who thinks the creepy politician guy will turn out to be the Red Skull, like he did in the comics? Quote
jerrygoodman Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 It's possible, although they're gonna have to explain how the Skull survived the events of the first movie... Quote
durendal Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 You mean Lukin? Isn't Lukin supposed to be Russian industrialist? Unless of course you guys are talking about some other politician. Quote
Larz Zahn Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 It's easy. If you watch the movie he gets teleported out by something that resembles the rainbow bridge. Quote
Salkafar Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Well... he is desintegrated, or so it seems, by the Cosmic Cube. However, this has happened in the comics, too - and he always came back. Another thing that happened in the comics was that, after the final confrontation with a now-aged Red Skull, the Captain finds himself shockingly faced with a young, strong double of himself. Turns out Zola cloned Captain America and transferred the Red Skull's consciousness into it. At the end of that story, he is exposed to his own hallmark toxin, causing his handsome face to be burned and contorted into a red skull. Now, considering the Cosmic Cube can alter reality, it might be that in this version, his consciousness was lost when he tried to control it, but it eventually restored itself, and gave himself a new body. Quote
Larz Zahn Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 If he had just disintegrated, would there of been a beam of light going UP from the plane? Quote
daveblackeye152 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Cannot wait! I think the tone shift will work well from the pulpy first Captain America shift. Worked out well for Star Wars to Empire. Quote
jerrygoodman Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 When do we start? We just did. Quote
Guest snow Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Didn't the Tesseracht just teleport Red Skull to one of the nine realms? I read that it was used by Odin to power the Bi-Frost at some point in time. Now they just use some other power source. If you watched Thor, anytime they travel you see that beam of light. Red Skull could be hiding in any one of the Nine realms. Quote

Guest snow Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Nice video. I think Captain America is cool. But in my opinion. Thor's more fun to watch. Quote

durendal Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Yes! It's showing this Wednesday, March 26! Not sure if I should brave the rush hour traffic just to see it on the first day or stave off until the weekend and fight it out with the weekend viewers. Quote
durendal Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Just saw it tonight on opening day. Awesome and wicked. They combined several plotlines from the comics to make this movie and I'm impressed. Although it didn't quite have the emotional moments like it had in the first movie, this movie really did pack a whole lot of action. I won't say anything more since I willing to bet nobody's in this board has seen it yet. If you're watching this, there are 2 after credits scene, as typical of marvel. Rewarding you with additional scenes for sitting through the credits. Quote
Larz Zahn Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Once again durandel, i am envious of your movie theaters release dates! Quote
LordSpleach Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 How the hell the do you do it, durendal? HAX? Quote
durendal Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Do what? Watch it this early? Simple really, went to the local mall, bought the tickets and saw the movie. hehehe. Anyway, I might come off as biased since Captain America is my favorite marvel hero. But I really liked the movie, but not as much as the first one. As I mentioned, there were less emotional moments and more action. Even the shocking reveal (it's actually expected if you follow the comics) didn't have that heart felt punch. They did put in a lot of characters, and for a cap fan like me, it's like fan service. Watching the movie I go, "hey that was this guy, and he was that guy, oh, that guys going to be this guy". I think they planted a lot of potential future story lines in this movie. 1 Quote
oogeej Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I thought it was pretty damned good. I don't follow any comics so I only knew about the truth behind Winter Soldier, all the other major plot points in this were new to me so they had more impact. Quote
durendal Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Oh, the biggest shocker was supposed to be: Hydra having infiltrated Shield. But in the actual comics, Shield is actually just a small sub branch of Hydra. Which means Nick Fury has been working under hydra all along. That's the reason he left shield. Also, with Cap's new uniform, I thought that he was gonna be taking over shield like in the comics when they made it look like Fury died. Guess they haven't included that part yet. Maybe that's what's gonna happen, since they destroyed Shield, Cap will be taking up a new position as head of a new international security which we might see in Captain America 3. Like I said, lot's of Easter eggs that are potential future storylines. Quote
odin Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Watched it, loved every second of it, it is one of the best Marvel Movies so far, you want a captain america movie? you got a cap movie, you want a good spy movie? you got a good spy movie, no wasted talent here, very impressive choreography (best I have seen in a while) and the plot was executed very nicely, The winter soldier himself was made fatefully and will probably be a fan favorite thanks to this film, I giggled little when his identity was revealed and everybody in the theater let out a huge GASP out of surprise except me. XD Quote
