He is in the novels heir to the empire, dark force rising, and last command. And i highly recommend reading these books. Unfortunately, it was stated that the movie will not be about the thrawn trilogy. Which really sucks.

March 7, 201313 yr expanded universe.. that is like fanfictions or official novels and games or something else? well you did mention books so I guess they must have a semi-official status. maybe similar to the games like Knights Of The Old Republic? Ok I get it, cheers. I like the idea of those 3 stars coming back to do the film. I still have great reservations about their choice of director, but I'll have to hold back on my feelings. I just don't want to have another fiasco that makes me want to be violently ill. Who knows, he might do an ok job.
March 7, 201313 yr Ryuki, the Star Wars Expanded Universe is canonically official. I don't know all the details, but when a new story is proposed for Star Wars, it has to run through Lucas to make sure in doesn't contradict any of the other stories.

August 13, 201312 yr Not to spread rumors, however I've read several articles claiming Justin Bieber has been cast as one of Luke Skywalkers kids, or nephews. I've even come across a petition to uncast him from the film, however I haven't been able to find him speaking on it himself or anything of the manner.
