Super Existence Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I wasn't expecting too much. In fact I was expecting to dislike it and I did. You're mentioning money but Independace day was the top earner when that came out knocking everything else off the number one slot. Now people barely remember it. Quote
RazorLaser Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) It is still #1 on IMDB's top 50... 9.2/10... when it came out it was 9.5/10 PS. Also Shawshank Redemption took over The Godfather's spot. Edited August 5, 2008 by Mr. McTaco Quote
Super Existence Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I know and that's a crying shame. It does not deserve to be at number #1 it is not the greatest movie of all time not by a long shot. Quote
RazorLaser Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I 100% agree with you. How do you feel about the Shawshank Redemption > The Godfather? Quote
Super Existence Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I love Shawshank and I admire greatly Godfather (even though I don't enjoy watching it). I could list a hundred movies superior to Dark Knight and both Godfather and Shawshank changed the way films are made. I highly doubt this will. Quote
RazorLaser Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Yeah but you never know... People probably highly doubted The Godfather and Shawshank would of changed the way films were made when they came out.... IMO Scarface > Godfather... And Goodfellas shouldn't even be in teh top 20. Quote
Larz Zahn Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 imo i really think the joker carried that movie... and that was the main reason i was so excited about it. as for the bat suit, i liked the idea that he got an upgrade, but the actual look could of been better. more streamlined and not so... blocky. batmobile. well dont worry your pretty little head SE lol. the batmobile is no more. now i wanna watch the third movie to see the new batmobile and the new batcave. his voice... i dont think anyone liked his voice... i sorta wished they went with the animated versions voice... quiet and hardly talks at all. that is menacing. some dude in your face just yellin.... not so much. course they could be doin this to show him learning the tricks of the trade... Bio-Boosted Dude Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 It is still #1 on IMDB's top 50... 9.2/10... when it came out it was 9.5/10 It's peak score when it came out was actually 9.7. I drenn you not. I should've screened it or something Quote
*YoungGuyver Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Wow. Somebody actually built their own Batmobile http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=308526 I just love the impact his movie has had in the world. I think this video sums it up best: Quote
*BananaKing Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Yea, I bet Jesus probably would rise from the grave to see dark knight,...if he hasn't already! Quote
durendal Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Nice tumbler. He really spend time and money on that. But I think you need a powerful engine to move all that weight. Can't view the youtube video at the moment as my current location prevents me from doing that. Quote
*YoungGuyver Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Wow. Sorry to revive a dead thread. But wow. I was looking around and saw a article that just jumped out at me, reminding me of a scene from these movies. http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20427341.300-dont-pack-your-parachute-totally-free-fall.html I mean its really possible to do that?! I thought out body mass would require a much larger wing span. I'm impressed. I ended up watching both movies with friends for Halloween. Both have car chases at night. I love the use of oranges. And the flaming fire truck. The dark knight doesn't have any masterful cinematic shots like the first one did with Batman hiding in the drug apartment shadows. Not as much subtle in that way. Quote
durendal Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Yeah, I think this is possible. I'm always constantly thinking of the concept of hangliders. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 a cat will survive if it falls from ABOVE 7 storeys. something to do with velocity, makes a small surface area into similar to a flying squirrel. a human with canopy between arms and legs will be the same. I want to know how they would land though. Quote
