You're mentioning money but Independace day was the top earner when that came out knocking everything else off the number one slot. Now people barely remember it.

It is still #1 on IMDB's top 50... 9.2/10... when it came out it was 9.5/10

PS. Also Shawshank Redemption took over The Godfather's spot.

I know and that's a crying shame. It does not deserve to be at number #1 it is not the greatest movie of all time not by a long shot.

I love Shawshank and I admire greatly Godfather (even though I don't enjoy watching it). I could list a hundred movies superior to Dark Knight and both Godfather and Shawshank changed the way films are made. I highly doubt this will.

Yeah but you never know... People probably highly doubted The Godfather and Shawshank would of changed the way films were made when they came out....

IMO Scarface > Godfather...

And Goodfellas shouldn't even be in teh top 20.

imo i really think the joker carried that movie... and that was the main reason i was so excited about it.

as for the bat suit, i liked the idea that he got an upgrade, but the actual look could of been better. more streamlined and not so... blocky.

his voice... i dont think anyone liked his voice... i sorta wished they went with the animated versions voice... quiet and hardly talks at all. that is menacing. some dude in your face just yellin.... not so much. course they could be doin this to show him learning the tricks of the trade...

I ended up watching both movies with friends for Halloween. Both have car chases at night. I love the use of oranges. And the flaming fire truck. The dark knight doesn't have any masterful cinematic shots like the first one did with Batman hiding in the drug apartment shadows. Not as much subtle in that way.
