A short video released by Max Factory advertising the re-release of the Guyver 1 Ultimate Edition Figma at the upcoming 40th Anniversary Event seems to suggest that the new Figma of Gigantic Dark might not be too far behind...

Dunno if this is new for anyone else but it was definitely new to me! Backstory; a little while ago I was doing a Guyver nostalgia deep dive (as y'do every so often) and came across a Japanese site that mentioned initial versions of episodes 7 and 8 of Act II that were recalled due to poor production quality and redone into the versions we know and... uh, know. I wasn't sure if they were anywhere online but lo and behold - here we are! Episode 7 Episode 8: Thoughts are as below, don't read if you wanna see for yourself first! - The opening sequence/theme is taken from the original six episodes with bits and pieces from Act II…

As of December 15th, 2025, Kadokawa has renewed the Trademark rights for Guyver. This is something that has to be done every 10 years in Japan... Which the last time they did it, the Manga was actually still being published. https://chizai-watch.com/t/2025139888?q=kadokawa&d=20251215&a=株式会社KADOKAWA It's a bit of interesting news that doesn't actually tell us anything about what is going on with the Manga... Only that Kadokawa is still invested in owning the franchise and controlling what various products can use it.

We used to have scans of the Chuang Yi covers on the old wiki's merchandise page (still visible on the wayback machine) but the higher res versions didn't get saved, so I've scanned in my dust jackets for anyone that might like to get a better look at them. I also scanned in a few data files so people can get a flavour for what they looked like in the CY release: https://mega.nz/fm/PYYSiZxK enjoy!

Finally in my possession! There are already a number of small things I dislike about it... Minor things that you'd think on such an expensive figure would be dealt with... Things I could forgive on a $300 figure of this size. Frankly, I don't think it was ever going to be "worth" the price they charged. Though it didn't have a specific limited number like the Prime 1 statues... This is still very limited. So I guess it's still nice to say I have one at the lowest price it ever will be. Though, to be fair, it was at least cheaper than what I paid for my BFC Max Imakarum... So I guess perspective is one thing...

I'm re-reading the manga after more than a decade and have a few questions that I'm curious if people have any answers/theories for as I'm not sure the manga has any answers. I'm only up to chapter 140 or so (Agito is setting fire to Waferdanos and Sho just learned how to save Aptom from Cabraal's control. Where did the Zoa-crystals come from? In Chapter 80, Balcus says the crystals were by "cleaving and cultivating one of Archanfel's Zoa-crystals" into the 11. I didn't think (but didn't really give an in-depth look) that Archanfel's battle form was any different in the flashback with the creators than it did in present day (as in, he didn't seem to have additional c…

Goodsmile has offically now put up the re-release for preorder! Now's your chance to get him for retail price! Pre-order is now open, and runs until May 6th, 2026! With an expected release date in November 2026! So far, only Goodsmile and Goodsmile US sites have it up. don't know if other distributors will get in on it yet. Please note, the prices and release dates are different for Goodsmile US, due to importing fees and the time it takes to import the stock. If you want any of the figures quicker, use the Japanese site to order from. though of course it will likely cost a bit more in shipping and fees.
