Strength Level, 100 Men to Weightage
Azaar replied to gelionlegends's topic in Guyver Science / General Science Lab Forum
Then how exactly do we explain the discrepancy of Guyver Zoanoid's abilities? This physical strength, at least, is far in excess of what Sean faced in Guyver 2: Dark Hero, and it seems very simplistic to simply say "well, the control medal was damaged to begin with" as a catch-all reason for why Crane wasn't more powerful still. Not that I'm complaining, just wanting to better understand the rationale. It will be nice to see Crane more active and involved -- that's the problem when you start reaching up to a cast of thousands: inevitably some characters get short-changed. Hopefully something I can remedy with Gabe, particularly once Stellar WG takes off on down the road. -
Strength Level, 100 Men to Weightage

Ouch... Guyver Zoanoid is that buff now, huh? I admit, this makes me wonder (and cringe a bit) -- 15x is nearly 4x a Warrior Guyver, and still 50% over and above Matrix-enhanced WG/Jason. Unless those power levels are increasing as well -- if not, good night... it'll be a lot easier to understand why it'll take four years before the American ACTF is finally able to start driving back Chronos. -
I'm still working on this -- not entirely certain when I'll be finished, I admit, but hopefully soon. I'm setting this as the day after X-Day (assuming August 17, 2006 being the date for X-Day, which sounds pretty reasonable for the new build-up Sully has working for us). After all this time, though, all of you deserve a sneak peek. So, without further ado... Disclaimer: This is a fan-fic based on characters created by Yoshiki Takaya and contains violent situations with adult language. All other characters are created by Brian O’Sullivan, et al for the Warrior Guyver fan-fiction website. August 18, 2006 -- Northern Washington DC -- A Seemingly Abandoned Industrial Estate The office was dark, save for the dim glow of a flat screen computer monitor that served only to outline the young man using the terminal. The *click* of keys as he typed on the keyboard was almost the only sound that could be heard in the room, aside from the faint hints of gothic alternative metal music coming from his headphones. So engrossed in the music and his work that when the door chimed to signal someone waiting outside, he completely missed it. The chime signaled again, but still no answer. On the third attempt, the door slid open to reveal Dr. Thomas Drake, who stepped in and flipped on the lights. That, it seemed, managed to catch the young man’s attention, who looked up from his computer screen, blinking at the sudden influx of light. With the lights on, the office looked to be an area that should have instead been deemed a disaster area. Half-opened operating manuals dotted the office space. A clutter of several half-dismantled desktop computer towers were set off to a corner, stacked three- and four-high. The desk was a little better, but still dominated by several zip drives and a plethora of CD cases. The young man snatched off the headphones, allowing the strains of Lacuna Coil’s “Swamped” to be heard before he hurriedly clicked on the mouse to shut off the music. “Sorry, Doc,” he apologized, his voice a soft baritone. “Busy at work.” “I trust that ‘work’ doesn’t mean playing first-person shooters or real-time strategy games,” came the mild reply from Dr. Drake. “You know, Gabriel, this office looks like a microcosm of what’s going on outside in the real world.” He paused for a moment. “You do know what’s going on outside, right, Mr. Kelso?” “Hadn’t checked, to be honest.” Leaning back in his office chair a little, Gabriel Kelso looked up at the good doctor for a moment before standing up. “Actually, I was looking over the code for the Red Type guidance and targeting systems upgrades, prepping for the final check before uploading it all. Been doing that for… hrmm…” The young man paused for a moment, eyes darting around for a moment before looking up at Dr. Drake sheepishly. “What’s the date?” “August 18.” “Oh… huh. I seem to have missed a couple of days, then.” “Why am I not surprised?” Dr. Drake ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head. “Gabriel--” “Doc, please, call me Gabe. I hate it when you all go formal on me.” “Fine, Gabe.” Dr. Drake moved to take a seat in the chair opposite Gabe’s desk. “Forget the work, at least for the moment. And sit down -- you’re going to want to before I’m done.” “All right…” Gabe frowned, but did as he was told, sitting back down. “What’s going on?” There was no sense in sugar-coating it for the young man, so Dr. Drake launched right into it. “Chronos made their big move yesterday. Most every nation on Earth has fallen -- they had personnel infiltrated on every level of virtually every government. America, Canada, Japan, all of Europe, Russia -- and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Had General Carter not taken us off-grid from the beginning, we very well might have been taken out completely.” Gabe’s head lowered, his mind racing as the words struck home. “So soon?” he asked quietly. “And without any warning? Why?” “There’s some strange rumors floating around, a lot of it centered around the Japan branch of Chronos and their heightened level of activity there, but some of it is centered around what happened in Utah last year. It’s going to be a while until we can verify anything across the sea, though, let alone try and get assets into place to start gathering intelligence. General Carter ordered a complete lockdown yesterday afternoon when Chronos hit the United States.” Gabe looked up at the mention of Utah, his jaw set, and he took a deep breath. “Utah’s a waste of their time,” he said quietly, but there was a tightness in his voice. “There’s nothing left there -- Atkins was lucky that the dig team had already been evacuated before going full-bore commando. Never mind after the explosion from the Utah Relic blasting it’s way out to head back into outer space.” He shrugged after a moment. “As for Japan… interesting. But I suppose I can understand their reasoning -- Chronos wants to keep on top of the latest technology, and Japan has a good reputation on that front.” He paused for a moment. “Guess that means we won’t be seeing anyone new around here, at least for the time being.” “He did have a couple of people brought in from outside, so I suppose that’s the closest to souvenirs that we’re going to get. One came in with Special Agent Atkins early yesterday morning; the other came in later, about mid-afternoon, and it was fortunate we were able to get her here.” Dr. Drake pointed a finger at Gabe. “And you’re the one who’s going to be showing them around the lab after lunch, so try to get your head on straight and look presentable?” “What? Doc, come on! I haven’t run the final checks on the latest Red Type guidance and targeting systems upgrades yet, never mind--” “Gabe, enough.” Dr. Drake held up his hand. “General Carter’s finishing them up with showing them the rest of the base -- they did the debriefing late yesterday afternoon and last night, so it‘s just a matter of getting them familiar with the layout. You’ve got--” He glanced at his watch as he stood up from the chair. “--a little over three hours before they’re supposed to be brought down to the lab to see everything at 1300 hours. If it consoles you any, neither of them are military, and they’re roughly your age as well. If nothing else, you won’t be able to say that you’re completely alone.” Gabe sighed quietly. He knew when he was defeated, and he’d learned all too well over the past year when it came to picking and choosing his battles with the ‘upper management’, as he referred to General Carter and his staff. “Fine. I’ll go take a run around the place, get a shower and all that.” A brief pause. “But forget the tie. I hate ties.” Dr. Drake couldn’t help but laugh at that. “Fine, no tie. Just behave yourself is all I ask. Besides, it might just make General Carter a bit more predisposed to entertain some of your ideas.” Heading for the door, he opened it and then turned back around. “See you after lunch.” Slumping back in his chair, Gabe watched Dr. Drake leave, then shook his head. “Carter sure as hell better be thankful for this,” he muttered to himself. Looking back at the screen, he reached for the mouse to click and save his work, then closed everything out and shut down his computer. Then he was up on his feet, heading for the door and turning the lights back off before leaving his office to head for his quarters and change clothes. Ten minutes later, he entered what he called his own private little domain within the abandoned industrial complex that served as their base of operations. One of the smaller warehouses had been refurbished, the interior set up to resemble several city blocks, complete with stairs, alleyways and more to make it as authentic as possible. For Gabe, or any parkour enthusiast for that matter, it was a dream course to keep himself fit and keep his mind running. Even so, as he began running, one thought ran through his head, stirring up old memories of his life before: How the hell did I wind up here?

As most are already aware, the Tempus Group was supposedly the front for Chronos during Guyver 2: Dark Hero -- the group funding Marcus and Cori Edwards' dig in Utah. With this added layer of intrigue from Sully for the fanfic, however, I'm beginning to revise my opinion, and making a couple of assumptions (both of which I imagine will receive the trademark "No Comment" from Sully and Matt both): 1) The Tempus Group is primarily a top-tier Chronos think-tank, with some black ops capability added for those most sensitive operations that only the top Zoalords (Alkanphel, Imakarum, Valkus and perhaps Kron as well) know about or authorize personally -- and the group, in turn, reports straight to them, bypassing the general Chronos hierarchy. Rather than being tasked with genetic engineering for Zoanoid strains, the Tempus Group (and I'm thinking Natasha is at least the chief scientist, if not actually the head of the Tempus Group herself) specifically focuses their attention on the Guyver units and trying to figure out their inner workings -- makes sense, given the connection made to the reconstruction of Valcuria's CM. They're also supposed to be the best of the best, entrusted with the most sensitive missions where discretion is a must: the recovery of both Guyver 2's and Guyver Zoanoid's control medals seem to support this. 2) Every major project needs a first step -- a trial run of the technology, if you will, for field-testing purposes. That said, I have a theory that is admittedly posited more to Matt, given the potential rewrites (if any) that Warrior Guyver C will get (and with this, that might be a distinct possibility, to match the timeline correctly): namely, that the "first step" of reconstructing Guyver 2F's control medal was the Guyver-Emulating Cyber Battle Unit. This also seems to make sense, especially given that the Robo-Guyver unit Chronos developed was never put into full production aside from the prototype and was discontinued shortly thereafter -- and why would Chronos need to develop it any further, for that matter? With ACTF Canada providing all the telemetry and test data Chronos could ever want, it would be a relatively simple matter to confirm that they were on the right track by observing the functionality of the Robo-Guyver unit in action (and also quite possibly through a secret back door program in the Robo-Guyver), and from there refine the process to make the necessary artificial repairs to Valcuria's CM. Not a musing as much as an outright question: I know that Guyver Zoanoid's and Guyver 2's control medals were both repaired, given their appearance in Revenge. However, the specifics of it, I can't seem to find. I want to think that it was because one of the Gen managed to repair it, or perhaps some Gen or Uranus technology Chronos has in its possession (like perhaps the Ark), but I can't remember for certain. Can someone enlighten me on that, or was that an element that was intentionally left vague? Some of it may be a stretch, I admit, but hey -- it's new and begs for brainstorming. Thoughts?
-
Heh, if he pops up sometime and I can catch him, I will -- better yet, Matt, consider yourself asked if Robo Guyver is a preliminary step towards artificially rebuilding the unit for Guyver 2F. ... and given that he's the one who drew the Stellar WG, I should perhaps give him some thoughts on potential colors (unless there's already a plan involved for that -- I'd try and color it myself, but I have no means of doing anything remotely like that, so I'd be more reliant upon those artists who have the capability to do it, and can do so.
-
Hmm... I suspect I'm setting myself up for a "No Comment " from Sully on this one, but I had an interesting brainstorm as a possibility: with the above being the case, it sounds like there's a very real chance that the Tempus Group might also be behind the research and development of the Guyver-Emulating Cyber Battle Unit / Robo-Guyver that showed up with Matt's Warrior GuyverC stories. If nothing else, that could be a first step towards Chronos rebuilding Guyver 2F's unit through artificial means as they have in the manga.
-
Belatedly, this looks like a pretty interesting setup. Just one note: Chronos was working through a front called the Tempus Group after the events in the Mutronics live-action Guyver movie -- my assumption has been that after all the bad PR from the downfall of Chronos LA, Chronos was taking great pains to hide their activities in America and keep the government from trying to discover what they were up to. It was enough for Cori to be under the mistaken impression that the Tempus Group was its own entity -- Marcus Edwards not telling Cori the truth about Tempus and Chronos being one and the same notwithstanding. Not that it really helped in the end, though, given that Atkins and the government already knew they were one and the same. Not that Gabe might have had anything to do with that... Anyway! It's still a good read, just thought I'd toss that little tidbit to you for future reference.

Just when you think things are getting better... So, a few might have noticed that I've been extremely scarce. That happens when your previous PC goes through 2 power supplies (one of which was admittedly used and from an older computer to begin with) within 24 hours and can't get a replacement. However... I recently inherited a "new" (for me, anyway) PC with Windows 7 and 700GB hard drive (and God only knows what I'll do with all that space). This means, once again, I lost all my progress for Gabe's introduction story. However, I still have enough of it in mind to where I'm going to start rewriting it (third try is supposed to be the charm, right?) and get it ready for you guys, because God knows you've waited long enough for it as it is. I'll update as I go, and hopefully a preview will be coming before too much longer.
-
Okay then, just so I'm sure I'm understanding the revised timeline as it stands now: Mutronics is circa early 2004; Dark Hero is late spring 2005 (it had been early June 1996 in the original timeline, and had been said to be a year or thereabouts since the events of Mutronics in the introduction to Dark Hero), and X-Day is now sometime in December 2006? D-Day is July 4, 2010 according to the revised Union write-up, so that much I know for certain. The original draft of Union gave it as eighteen months between X-Day and D-Day, but it sounds as if you've extended that to be closer to a four-year clandestine build-up. Just want to be certain all my facts are straight, more than anything else.
-
Very nice read. Looks outstanding so far (as always).
-
Congrats, dude. And always remember, you will have to save vs. cuteness at all times with your little girl... and you will fail those saves.

Question: since our stories are being set right around X-Day, is the general flow of events still going on as written? The original version, "In The Beginning" shows Sean meeting General Carter just before X-Day. "Union of the Guyvers", though, is set more than a year and a half after X-Day and the US has pushed back Chronos pretty hard (or at least enough to where the majority of the country is free). Are Cori and Sean both staying with the ACTF post-"In The Beginning", or at least shortly before the events of "Union of the Guyvers"? The reason I ask is, in reworking my story of what's going on around Gabe (I'm now setting it just a few days after X-Day), I want to be certain of where Sean and Cori are located -- if Gabe's being secreted away because he saw the Utah Relic pre-X-Day, it stands to reason that Cori would be too, for exactly the same reason. All I have to go on right now is that Sean was taken to the ACTF base right before X-Day began in "In The Beginning", but really there's no mention of Cori (aside from indirect references in "In The Beginning") until the Grakken claims to have killed her about a third of the way into "Union of the Guyvers". If I can get some enlightenment about that (even if it means just a PM in case that's a "No Comment" otherwise), that would help me out a bunch.
-
That's workable. Admittedly, my character story was going to be leaning towards Rescue or just afterwards, to give Gabe a reunion of sorts with the recently rescued Cori, but it was going to cover Gabe's background as the story unfolds. I can keep it to being right around the beginning of things, if you prefer, though, or possibly incorporate a bit of what happened in Time War Part 5 with the glimpses of Gabe and company seen so far.

*rubs hands together* Oh yes, this is gonna be good.

Favorite Zoaform + Favorite G-Unit combo
Azaar replied to jedi-guyver's topic in Warrior Guyver Fan-Fiction
Someone can feel free to correct me if my memory is spotty on that detail, but If I remember Correctly, that was because G'Kor gave Reeve a Unit with a limiter that kept Reeve from becoming as powerful as expected as the Guyver Zoalord. I may need to go through Time War with a fine-tooth comb to confirm that (and I admit, I should be working on my intro story for Gabe, but re-writing from memory what I'd lost has been a slow and arduous process), but I think that was the reason why GZ was at 200x, rather than Solom's estimate of 400x. -
I'm gonna go way out on a limb (and probably fall), but... would it happen to be a glimpse of the Relic in which the Stellar Unit will be found?
-
At a guess -- likely no. Proto Guyver/Hybrid Guyver (I'd forgotten about the Hybrid name) is still considered a Guyver unit itself, when all is said and done. Probably the only way for Greg to have bonded with another unit was to have the Proto Unit removed from him via the Matrix, and then give him another unit. But you can't have multiple units bonded to the same host -- wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that was another function of the Limitation governor within the Guyver control medal.
-
Hey guys. Been a while since I've been around -- had computer issues that, unfortunately, really screwed with a lot of my stuff (and worse, means that unless I can get something to convert my internal HD from my last computer to an external HD, I've lost everything I had on that drive). This means that I also lost my work on my story for Gabe. However, I'm gonna be restarting that again, and hopefully have something in the near future for your perusal.
-
Just so everyone knows -- I'm still working up my short story for Gabe Kelso to help introduce him. I'm hoping to have it done soon, and likely will post a preview at some point this coming week (if I can) in the Writer's Forum.
-
Sounds excellent so far. I really do need to read through Time War now thoroughly to see how you expanded upon it.
-
That's cool. I'd actually been considering writing up an idea of what happened between Guyver: Dark Hero until finally getting to meet Cori again after she's rescued and brought back to the ACTF, and perhaps putting in the background so that everyone could understand Gabe as an individual -- I think that would be far more important, since it would later help show what he might be like with the Stellar Unit. If I did mention anyone outside of that (Jason would be the only likely one there, in that respect, if I did it), it would be more a passing thing, unless Jason's got an interest in DNA computing/DNA nanotechnology (which is something I'd have Gabe working more with Cori on, since the idea or organically-grown technology is initially credited to her -- Gabe just took what she theorized and took it to another level to better explain what the Uranus and the Gen accomplished, based on what little time he'd likely be given to study how a Guyver functions when active). His work would try to be as non-invasive as possible, in that light -- how Dr. Drake and the higher-ups in the ACTF use that knowledge, though, would make for an interesting dynamic if it came to pass.
-
Wow... thanks, Sully. I certainly don't mind Gabe having more of an edge -- especially after what ultimately happens to Marcus Edwards, since Marcus is as much a father figure as Gabe's ever had. And the rest of you guys, good job. I enjoyed reading the other entries as well. This ought to be very interesting to see how everything unfolds. Edited to add: I am curious, however -- will we have the opportunity to write about our respective characters, or do you intend to be the one writing, Sully?

Okay, for better or worse, my offering: Background: Gabriel Kelso was never a physical specimen of manhood by any stretch of the imagination -- something that routinely earned him bullying from the guys who were more the athletic jocks throughout school. Between that and the fact that girls were attracted more to the big, strong manly types, Gabe found himself more and more an introvert as his early years progressed and he made his way through junior high and high school. The fact that he was adopted and never knew his biological parents was just the tip of the iceberg for explaining his introverted nature; the bullying and ridicule from his “peers” only further reinforced those introverted tendencies. His only chance was to run when he saw them coming -- sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. When he wasn’t at school or on the run from the bullies -- something that translated into a growing interest in the art of parkour, he immersed himself in cyberspace -- as a result, he was self-taught when it came to computers. Programming, computer repair and upgrades, the works -- Gabe made a point of learning it all, and during his teenage years began his own local business for people needing work done on their computers. But all of that ultimately became a cover for his nocturnal activities, becoming a fledgling hacker and making his own sort of “justice”. It began with changing grades on the school computer system so that the bullies found themselves in a quandary with being able to play in their chosen sports. In each case, Gabe felt justified in his actions, protecting himself from the worst of the ridicule by keeping them away. When he was finally caught, however, he admitted to what he had done, and the reasons why he had done it. A schism formed at that point: some saw him as a danger to businesses, banks and more (though the investigations revealed that he never planned or made any such attempts, and had indeed limited his hacking solely to pursue a sort of “justice” against his bullying oppressors -- he hadn’t even changed his own grades, not that he needed to); others saw him as a sort of local hometown hero for finding his own way of standing up for himself against bullying, even though they admitted that the manner in which Gabe had acted was rather unorthodox. It meant the end of his teenage computer repair/upgrade business, for the most part -- some people still came for his help, but most of his business dried up because of the rumors (unsubstantiated as they were) that he was stealing information from his clients -- but his affinity with computers was enough to where he had attracted notice, and so the California Institute of Technology took a chance on him. Gabe accepted, and made the cross-country trip from the mountains of North Carolina to Pasadena, California to begin his collegiate career. It was there, while studying computer science, that he first met Marcus and Cori Edwards. Marcus and Cori, in a very real sense, became a second family to Gabe -- particularly after a drunk driver collided head-on with his adoptive parents, killing them instantly. They talked, shared stories, and bonded as Gabe was drawn more and more into the “outlaws of science” world. Things seemed almost idyllic, up until the Tempus Group came calling and offered funding for the coming Utah archaeological dig. Their persistence concerned Gabe enough to where he decided to start doing a bit of snooping around. What he found was disconcerting: Tempus Group was a front for Chronos Arizona. Chronos didn’t seem like the type to be funding archaeological digs, and so he started digging a little deeper. It didn’t take much to find how the sudden move to fund Edwards’ proposed Utah dig was coming shortly after the downfall of Chronos LA, but that information was running into a brick wall. That meant the government. That meant more drastic measures. Caught by the FBI when he hacked into their network, Gabe wound up talking with Atkins, and explained the reasons behind his intrusion: it was not out of maliciousness, but a sincere concern for the safety and welfare of two people that were the closest thing to family he had. They worked out a deal: Gabe would get Atkins onto the dig team and be an informant, and in return no charges would be filed against him. Gabe agreed, got him onto the dig team, and then sat back to wait and see what unfolded. Time passed, summer was closing in, and Gabe decided to pay the dig site a visit, after not hearing any updates from either Marcus or Cori since the beginning of the “bear attacks”. Halfway there, he received a call on his cell phone from Atkins: the government was going in and taking down Arlen Crane and the Tempus Group personnel on-site. Worried about what might happen to Marcus and Cori, Gabe pushed on to make it to the dig site and get them away before everything hit the fan. He missed Cori departing with Sean Barker by nearly half an hour, coming upon the cleanup with Atkins. It was at that point that Gabe found himself in custody once again... but this time, it was protective custody. Atkins was taking no risks that Chronos Arizona would discover Gabe’s identity, if they hadn’t already, and while he didn’t like having to take Gabe in, Atkins realized it was the only way to protect the young man, especially after Gabe saw the makeshift funeral cairn that had been made for Marcus Edwards. It was only after Sean and Cori joined the ACTF that Gabe was reunited with Cori once again -- now, though, Gabe was working R&D, helping to develop security software to protect the ACTF against wanted cyberspace intrusion. At that point, his focus shifted, and Gabe began working with Cori to better understand Uranus and Gen technology, and expand on the theory of how both races developed their technology. (( Note: I have some thoughts for how Gabe could bond with the Stellar Unit. The intent, regardless, would be to try and highlight Sean and Cori a bit more, which means ideally I would want to use Warrior Guyver US for this. )) Personality: Quiet and reserved, almost to the point of unassuming at times. Gabe is someone who wants to do what’s right, though recent events with the ACTF have him questioning just how far his employers are willing to go for the sake of humanity -- “the ends justify the means” is a saying that keeps echoing in his mind, and it concerns him greatly, especially with the nature of Jason O’Connor’s abrupt departure from the ACTF and his subsequent rogue status as Dreadnought. While he likely would know of Jason and his group in the periphery, the primary reason behind his affiliations with the ACTF are the presence of Cori and Sean -- Cori in particular, since he sees her as pretty much the only family he has left. Aside from his interest in computers and in analyzing the alien technology from both the Uranus and the Gen, Gabe’s only other serious passion is in the art of parkour: the times he spent running from the bullies growing up meant building his endurance to outrun and outlast them. Parkour simply allows him to take that to the next level, by using the environment around him to best effect in maintaining his own running and keeping ahead of those who meant to do him harm. It helps him develop good spatial awareness of his surroundings -- something that will prove useful in bonding with the Stellar Unit. As far as Gabe’s moral compass goes, he’s perhaps best described as “neutral good with chaotic tendencies” (to borrow D&D’s alignment scheme). He has his moments where he’s willing to justify taking steps by hacking computers against the enemy, but by and large he does try to hold some respect for the law. Still, recent events bother him greatly -- like the dropping of a nuclear weapon over Australia to end that recent battle. He viewed it as overkill -- granted, not having ever faced zoanoids and the like before colored his perceptions. Gabe is very much the type to root for the underdog. More and more, however, he sees humanity as the true underdog. Chronos Corporation is a shining example of “the ends justify the means”; the ACTF, in some ways, isn’t much better because of a growing militarization and focus on getting the biggest and best weapons. And above it all, the Gen (and by extension the Federation) and Grakken are making humanity’s collective lives miserable by adding more fuel to the fire by giving away more units. That, perhaps, is what worries Gabe the most about being bonded with the Stellar Unit -- he doesn’t want it (and really, most don’t seem to want it). The power of it is both exhilarating and yet frightening to him, because he is all too aware of how power can corrupt... even if it’s only being physically stronger than the other guy. In a very real sense, Gabe is the Peter Parker or Kyle Rayner of the Warrior Guyver universe: he doesn’t want the power, doesn't even like having it... but finds himself compelled to accept that it is his destiny to wield that power, and that with the “gift” of that great power comes an even greater responsibility to use it wisely. Just as important is the fact that Gabe wants to protect humanity for their own sake: protect it against Chronos, even though most of the world has been misled and sees them as a would-be global savior; protect it from the Gen and Grakken, who have made no secret of their continuing interest in Earth and manipulating humanity from afar; even protecting humanity from the ACTF, should Gabe learn for certain just how far Carter and the rest of the ACTF brass have gone in using Chronos’s own zoaformatting tactics against them. To Gabe's mind, humanity shouldn't be manipulated in any way -- willing or not -- to fight someone else's wars for them. And in the end, humanity's survival as a species hangs in the balance. Why protect humanity if they're just going to be monsters when they come out the other side? Does it matter whether it's genetic engineering in the vein of Chronos and the ACTF, or whether it's simply dropping Guyver test units without a care for who bonds with them or the moral compass those people have, like the Gen? Or even destroying humanity to take the units that were either "gifted" or left behind by the Gen and their Uranus forerunners, like the Grakken seem to want to do? Just look at the Guyver Mercenaries, out only for their own self-gratification and power. Most everywhere he looks, Gabe sees the same sort of mentality: everyone looking out only for themselves, or letting emotions like greed and revenge cloud their judgment. With all that around him, perhaps that's the greatest surprise of all: that Gabe has the strength of will to take that sort of stand... even if it means he stands alone against the fury of everyone around him.

Hmm, interesting. I might be interested in taking a shot at this, myself. I like Matt's Stellar Guyver drawing a lot, and it seems very fitting for the concept. If you're wanting a data file submission, I can do that. Right now, I'm thinking perhaps ACTF camp, though the specific affiliation would be with Cori and Sean -- mostly Cori, for reasons pertaining to the live-action Guyver: Dark Hero. I'll brainstorm a bit, and see what shapes up.
