New Guyver news from Otakon! Kinda intresting how they are handling it... definatly a new way of doing things. A definatly i nteresting way to try and bring in new fans. And I for one am glad they are doing it first with the Guyver. Information in the first post has been updated.

The Word of Admin Yeah, although we are being much more lax with the "rules" ( which sadly, seem to have dissapeared), I still would like to keep away from politics on the forums. Especially since the members on here are international, and views can vary greatly from country to country.

In the end, the fact of the matter is, these pics weren't traced, mearly copied. Copying I have a VERY much less problem with, than tracing. That being said, only parts of the images were copied, and in the case of his one character that was based off of Prometheus, he even got the idea for the shoulder design wrong . So in this case, it comes awfully close to the former pics being used mearly as "reference". Granted however, Guyver 89, next time you post a pic that you took references from, and ones that are easy to tell, just name the source you picked it up from. Because, although the design may be altered, not stating your source, is almost like going to someplace that knows nothing of the guyver and saying " Hey look, I created this thing called Guyver...", when it's just a fan made image. I mean, it's clear you're drawing them with your own two hands, and people need somewhere to start. Hell, I traced like crazy for about a month or two until I could figure out the proportions... and I still had trouble with them for a while after I stopped ( mind you, NONE of these designs were ever scanned ), and nowadays I can pick up and draw and original Guyver in mear minutes. Just try your best, and remember that, if you use someone elses designs s a base for your images, just state that somewhere in your post, and it should be fine.

Yes, but calling something "retarded" isn't an opinion. It's an insult. There are much better ways to comment or critique a picture.

Pretty much what Largo said. 6 years ago, I was young, and had nothing better to do. But I have a thing called a job, and responsibilities now. Not to mention other hobbies. Guyver is still important to me, but the site, and the situation currently isn't a top priority. And we can't be "friends" with every member on the site. I only keep my closer friends on MSN/AIM ect... I am online most evenings, but handling other matters.

Then I might suggest that you wait to post this kind of thread, until you decide to post something from the actual story? This really doesn't even qualify as a "teaser". It's more like you were trying to reserve your spot... but there really isn't a "spot" to save...

I have edited all the posts so that the pics are now simple links. Please next time, reduce the size of the images, or just post the links to the pics. Not only will it help people with slow connections, but Imageshack does have limits on how much can be downloaded each month. With links, everybody isn't forced to download them each time they visit the topic, and your pics won't over tax your account. And try and refrain from using all capitals and bold when you post... those are usually reserved for expressing anger/yelling.

The new TV series "Guyver - the Bio-Boosted Armor" is now officially licensed for North Americian release. *edit* Brand new news from Otakon 2006! - The Guyver volume 1, will be released on November 14th - ADV is not releasing an Art box with volume 1, but instead are releasing the box with volume 2, hoping that new fans might pick up the first DVD, without having to worry about not getting the Art box if they do like it, or aren't stuck with the box if they don't.

It's all a matter of opinion really, but I think the only complaint is that it's not as bloody as the original. But everything else is vastly superior. There are no plans for a Region 1 DVD release yet. There is no plans for a second season yet, either.

Actually, that is the OFFICIAL release date. All the other previous release dates were from stores and their Sony reps, and were never official.

Considering the Anime is over? He was "handled" pretty much the same way he appears in the manga. And since they covered the chapter in which the Guyver Gigantic appears, there was quite a bit with Alkanphel near the end.

After the massive amount of hacking, we decided to take down, and move the forum. We removed the linking from the main site just incase the hackers were going through there to get to the message board. We couldn't say anything at the time, just incase the hackers actually paid attention ( unlikely).

That is one of the things I am going to look into, because I agree totally. Well, the chat idea, and the rest of the ideas I posted, were just suggestions. Not really the only ideas we have. I was also kinda looking for others not posted there. But it looks like new forums are pretty much a MUST. And it will be one of the definate changes.

Greetings and Salutations folks! As you probably already know, Brian O'Sullivan, the creator of the site, stepped down some time ago, and will not be participating in updating/creating for the site. Soon, we will be moving out from under him completely, and putting the site under our full control. Once the move happens, we will hopfully be updating more frequently, and have a few new features. We do have a few planned already, however, we'd like to hear from you about what other things you'd like to see, and what priorities should we focus on when getting the site back up? A new site layout? New forums? Better streamlined galleries? Chat room? Oekaki board? We need some feedback people! After all, you're here, so you might as well enjoy your stay

That's the plan for when we do the move. Not sure exactly when it shall be yet, but we'll let everyone know in advance.

No, we won't be doing anything like that. As bad as the hacking is, and as much as I like revenge... I do NOT likes Viruses. In both getting them, and using them. Our best bets at this point is to try and get some newer security measures put into place when we do the server move. But no revenge. As much as I would like to.

My guess is that one hacker put the url to our site on some hacker site, and now just about everyone comes and messes with our board. We'll be undergoing a server move sometime in the near future, and we are thinking of maybe trying another kind of message board, or at the very least, trying to get this one working properly. But we shall see.

Overall I had a very good Christmas ( except for the fact it's 2:28 am on the 26th, and I am at work -_-'). Although, now, I find it more fun for me to be giving gifts. I usually give some of the best gifts, because when it comes to other people, I aint cheap ( At christmas, my limits usually reach $150-200 per person, depending on how many I buy for). So it was a really good Christmas because everyone ( including my 1 1/2 year old neice) pretty much loved my gifts. And that, is good enough for me.

Well, actually, I have been doing a back up pretty much 3 times a day recently. - When I get home from work ( about 8 am) - When I get up from bed ( 4pm - 6pm) - Before I go to work (11pm-ish) If I make it a habit, it won't be such a big deal. And since PHPBB2 makes it really easy, it's not that bad.

Hmmm... i wonder where i can find this info. Edit: What was the # of the latest episode released. Please, use PM's if you are goign to ask such a question. Do not do it in public. The newest episode, released on Dec 17th was episode 19.
