I don't like it ether for the most part. The only reason I even bothered was because of their revamp of Shazam, while I hate the name change the story was good and the new take on Billy Batson didnt turn out to bad.

I seems like whenever I so much a glance at main stream western comics their seems to be another event comic starting up. While I dont hate Events it seems that some of them are done just because.....because. The ones I'm thinking of are poorly written, ignore cannon and are pointless in the end. On that note I'm curieuse as to what some of you think and what Events stood out to you as very good or bad. For a recent Event that pissed me right off DC's Trinity War. WHAT THE F##K! Your telling me that that the whole plot and all build up was just a glorified prolog for YOUR NEXT DAMNED EVENT STORY! Not only that but to do it, they have to throw a giant, out of left fieuld revalashion (its not magic its science....ow and it helps create transdimensional portals) that renders the whole plot of Trinirty War pointless. For events I like there was an odd little one that happend in the Dark Horse Comics back in the 90s. Hunting the Heroes - Predators Attack. In this Event Dark Horse who have made severaly Predator crossovers with Batman, Superman, Judge Dredd and even Magnus - The Robot Fighter set the alien hunter on some of their own super heros. X - a dark anti-hero vigilante with little true feeling and a strong tendency to kill. Ghost - A woman with the power to teleport and become intangible. Motorhead - a drifter with an alien artifact called the Motor bonded to him. Law - The Dictator of Golden City While not haveing any real effect on the the overarking stories of the characters (save one) I find this little Event just....fun. The Events just an excuse to let us watch heroes and predators got to town on eachother. Intestingly Law's comics weren't selling well at the time so Dark Horse decided to cancel them, After ownly 6 issues in his own solo comic Law was killed by the Predator and has never been seen in a comic since.

Really they should have just let J-day happen, by trying to stop it they keep pushing the date further into the futur eand making things worse for themselves. In T-3 the Terminater said J-day was enevatable, this is because as long as humans keep buildind smarter camputers without taking procoshion (although there no way they could know) Skynet will be be born and by pushing its birth ferther into the future Skynet and the Terminater become more and more advanced. Thats why in T-4 John said this wasent the war his mother warned him about. All they did in T-2 was just make the bad situastion worse. Actualy I wonder if Skynet's plan in T-2 wasent just kill John but instead to alter the time line in any way possible, we see that Sarah was going to was going to escape the asylum anyway so maybe in the originl time line she escaped, found John and got him ready for the war, so maybe Skynet sent the T-1000 back intime to kill John but also to see if it would alter the timeline in Skynets faver even if it failed. Which it kind of has.

I was lucky enough to catch Pred 2 on ebay for an ok price but that took me while to find.

Personly I've enjoyed most of the books, Earth Hive, Nightmare Asylum, Female War, Labyrinth and Music of the Spears are the best in opinion. (Music of the Spears is my favourite) Genocide, Alien Harvest, Rogue and Berserker I enjoyed reading but they fall short compered to the others. I really dislike the seconed series of Alien novels. Original Sin just bored me and its linked to Alien Reserection (you deside whats worse), DNA War feels like a poor mans Genocide although I did like some of the characters, Cauldron I'm never reading again or I'll have an aneurysm, Steel Egg was ok but some things in it Ididn't like, Criminal Enterprise is a boring as Predator South China Sea is Good and No Exite I can't even get half way through the book much less finish it (and I did try.....TWICE). Hopfully the new novels will be better.

Been catching up on a backlog a novels I've got. I reading Predator - South China Sea (the best of the new pred novels from what I've read so far) and I've got Alien - Out of the Shadows lined up next. Manga whise I'm reading Toriko, Guyver and One Piece. They resently realised the last chapter of the 3rd volume of Violence Jack so I'll have to get stuck into that as well as a few other Go Nagai manga I keep meaning to read.

Just rechecked the page and your right. So its like a more controlled version of Aptom's bio-freeze powers possibly using the guyvers mega-smasher organs to focus it? This is intresting, I was looking forward to seeing what this Guyver/Aptom form could do and this little glimse dosent disapoint. It either just an advanced version of Bio-Freezer's powers, as he does upgrade the powers he obtains, OR the freezing ability combined with his particle accelerator blast. Which ever it is its still cool as hell.

Slum King, God, Herr Starr, Owlman, Pheaton and Anti-Monitor. Thats quite a team of bastards we've got hear I wonder how they'd mach up against a team of heros?

I think I found a guy who appone reflection may be worse then Slum King. God from Demon Lord Dante. In the story he's was an evil space being who demanded that the humans living on Earth worship him. When they didn't, he burned the city of Sodom and unleashed his minions to attack its people (one would burn his victimes with a fire that would reserct them only for them to burn again and again while another would cut them into piece but they could not die, forever suffering the pain of their wounds) , However God's had inadvertently given the humans of Sodom a way to fight back, those of strong enough will could absorbe Gods power and merge with objects around them, becoming what we know call demon(the main character merges with a futuristic jet fighter, a Pteranodon and Tyrannosaurus rex to turn into a giant demon). When this happend God changed his plan and destroyed the humans other great city Gomorrah by flooding it (the humans who servived became allies of the demon and their decendes became the modern Satanists). Then God split himself up into pieces and inserted himself into apes, becoming modern man as a result. He further becomes even more of a bastard when it is revealed at the end that the entire war between God and demons was done on purpose just because it was entertaining to him. In Devilman hes not much better, God seeded are world with life then left it to develop. When he came back to earth during the time of the dinosaurs he found that a race called demons had evolved. God thought they where ugly and unworthy so he set about exterminating them. But one of Gods angels Lucifer thought that God had no right to so, The demons where living creature that had just as much right to live as any other so he allied himself with the demons to fight against God.

Slum King is kind of like the Joker in that he's unbound, there is no line that he wont cross. I dont posting about some of the stuff he dose because its well sick. Go Nagai really out did himself on this one. I agree that the Anti-Monitor is very evil, I suppose you have to deside whats more evil, coldly killing millions just to achive your goal or torturing some one without mercy just for fun.

I've come across many vlians but none have topped this guy. Slum King - In a world where the stong rule he is the strongest. He is the main antagonist of Go Nagai's Violence Jack which also happens to be the darkest manga I've ever read. He rules over the ruins of the Kanto area of japan after it was deveistated by the Kanto Hell Quake, since that event Kanto has become seperated from the mainland and still undergoes minier quakes from time to time making the land very unstayable and was abandoned by the japanese government. It has now become a lawless land ruled by the strongest and worst of mankind. Slum King has forged his empire in this place, his has been able to band many of the loose gangs of thugs in kanto to form his own personal army and gathered enough wealth to bribe politicians on the mainland to inport weapons and goods for his empire. Slum King was born with a uniqu birth distorder that granted him much more muscle mass then that of any normal human child (he ripped his way out of his mothers womb) and no skin. As an adulte he stands over 2 meters tall and his strength as grown with him. However his great strength comes with a price, his muscles are too strong and would crush his own body if they are not constantly used. To counter this he wears a suite of armour made of iron plates over a centimeter thick, the chest plate is twice as heavey as the over pieces of armour, the horns on the helmet are solid and even his facemask is made of thick iron. He wears this armour at all time even when sleeping yet it dosent hinder his movement in the slitest and Slum King can easily move faster then any normal person can see. His weapon of choice is a Horse Slayer style katana thought the handle has been changed for a iron bare because it was to weak. It would also seem that he has psychic powers such as telekenisis and telekinetic blast. Also any sword that touches his armour is destroid (even if it was not swoung with enough force to do so). In Violence Jack every horrible act a human can inflict on another is presented and Slum King is more then happy to inflict all of them on any man, woman or child that crossess him. for example too slaves that tried to runaway from his restaurant in slumtown where hunted down and had their arms amd legs cut of off and their tounges cut out. They then have pathetic posthetics attached to the stumps so they could walk on all fours, Slum King then keeps them as pets who he abuses at his leasier. He will even (if he feels like it) throw them into dog fighting rings to be bitten untill they nearly die. I should point out this is only a drop of blood in the ocean of sins he comites. Spoiler! At the end of the manga it is revealed that he is in fact Demon Lord Zennon! Does anyone know someone worse.

The Fountain, Mermaids Forest and the Phoenix Karma and Space Chapters have all got me thinking deeply on the subject of immortality and the meaning of life. I think I gained a much greater appreciation for life as a whole from watching them as well as a getting a very horrible realisation of just how much of a curse immortality would be.

Honestly while I would love another Guyver movie theres too much in the way. While we all love Guyver it really isent as big as it was, When Guyver was released by Manga Entertainment (in the old days befor pokemon, DBZ and Sailor Moon) it was a big hit for an anime of the time. It was dark, well drawn, had a good story and had good voice acting for an early 90s series, this combined with what we now call the Dark Age of Comics mentality at the time helped push Guyver to a level of notoriety few anime got which lead to it getting its movies. Guyver was the anime to have back then but times change and with the anime boom of the late 90s it was just left behind. The biggest problem I think is that many people pass on Guyver thinking that its like every other super sentai or teen with powers series and the first few episodes of both series dont help because even though they are very well done (better then most series I can think of) people just cant seem to see past the formula and they never get to see what Guyver later becomes. I think we where lucky to get the movies at all and even luckier that Dark Hero is so great but Guyver is not the shining star that it used to be over here and I dont think it ever realy will be again unless somthing happens after the seires end. Im just happy that guyver exists, its what got me into anime in the first plane and even today I still rank it as my 2nd favorite anime/manga of all time.

I rarly feel this excited about movies. The last time had been Prometheus (Im a big Alien fan) and for me atleast the movie didnt disapoint. I loved the godzilla movies asmuch as I do the alien movies so I have high expectashions. If I get that strange feeling I got when I watched Prometheus then I'll know the movie has succeded . . . . . at least in my eyes.
