Shockwave would provide some protection for the swords as long as contact is not too prolonged, shockwave is mainly at the swords edges so less protection for sides, but that would not protect the hilt/base of the swords where the sword usually gets melted off from.
Depending on how the plasma swords work, there are more than one type after all, the same mechanism that allows them to use the plasma energy would also protect them by helping to deflect the the energy of the attacking sword.
and yes, nano tech can be used to make a sword that can cut through stuff as easily as a Guyver vibrational sword.
I.E. The Nano Sword from the Game Deus Ex. or something using a mono filament. Nano tech could also be used to create vibrational material and duplicate just about everything the Guyver is capable of doing, depending on the how advance the nano tech is.
-
Hmm, well Inferno128
On point 1- that depends on the how the plasma is channeled. If simply channeled around the blade then no problem. If internal it will still depend on how the plasma interacts with the sword material. For example of a natural plasma phenomena, the surface of the sun is cooler than just a little further out where the temperture jumps from 6,000 to over a million. Only if the heat directly interacts with the molecules of the sword would it cause it to melt and vaporize.
On point 2- Vibrations along a vibrational material does not get weaker unless a counter force is applied to it. Even if it did the length of the whips are not long enough for a significant drop of vibrations to occur with the high powered vibrations these weapons uses.
On point 3- Vibrational swords vibrate as a single mass, they do no vibrate to point the molecules become free floating and phase through objects. Wear and tear would come from natural abrasion if the material comes into physical friction with another material such as another sword but the shockwave produced by a Guyver type vibrational sword would prevent that for all but other vibrational weapons. Though this may be true for plasma swords.

2.5 million years ago, I seriously doubt that humans of that time looked like humans of today. Evolutiion wouldn't allow it.
You would think that but fact is evolution has been proven to not always be linear. The biggest differences in many of the humanoids in the fossil record were the size, shape, and fucntion of their brains. Many of the physical characteristics that we would recognize as human were around a lot longer. True, it is doubtful but we simply don't have enough of the picture to declare it impossible yet.
-
Well, the human race was nearly wiped out ~75,000 years ago so our historical knowledge of how far back the human race goes is rather sketchy at the moment. For example, the prevailing thought is we all originated from Africa but finds like that of "Mungo Man" of a 40-60,000 year old body in Australia has successfully been DNA analyzed to show that though the body is anatomically identical to a typical modern day man that his DNA showed a lineage that is now extinct. Walking upright humanoids have existed on this planet for at least 7 million years so hard to say just when what we now call human really started. Also the fossil records indicate many human traits developed before we showed up and at different times than previously thought so saying our ancestors 2 million years ago looked all that different from now is debateable, we simply don't know that for sure yet.

I would reply but someone "BWAP"ed me on the head, tied me up and threw me into a closet.
Well, here's a little reply
Evolution concept is a little more flexible than Brian has stated but the Aptom method of evolving is as extreme as Star Trek Borg assimulation.
Yes, the CM keeps the Guyver Organism from evolving but it also keeps it from making like John Carpenters "The Thing" and perminently absorbing the host.
There is a difference from evolving and adapting. But like I said before, seven's idea can work if the unit can absorb host DNA, this is a form of evolution like Aptoms but regulated by the CM it can be prevented from being fatale to host. The only thing I would add is that the host should experience alien sensations from the unit as the organism starts to become aware. But also like Brian has said, as a fan fic anything goes. It is only because this has been placed in the Science section of board that I've been compelled to respond in this way.
YoungGuyver, the reason a unit doesn't merge with a living Relic is the same that it doesn't merge with another unit. The Relic has its own CM's so only when the CM's combine with a host CM would the Relic organism be allowed to merge with a Unit one. As for your diversity idea, the fact companies like Microsoft is famous for crashes and bugs pretty much nixes that idea. For hardware example, when's the last time you ever saw a Mac interchangeable with a PC? Dependability is more important for a space faring race. The only change required is the programming of the CM to determine the shape and function of the organism. The closest thing we are developing with that kind of flexibility is nano technology.
Btw, What makes you think a Relic is less efficient than a Unit?
For the Sho mutant clone, you are forgetting it was merged with host DNA. It wasn't a pure Guyver organism.
-
Like I said before, your idea will make an interesting story.
But consider this, it took millions of years for the human mind to evolve the capacity for emotions and rational thought. You're asking that an alien lifeform that has essentially remained unchanged for untold eons to suddenly evolve our mental capacities in an evolutionary equivalent of a blink of an eye. Simply lowering mental barriers will not let the organism learn from its human host. It needs to evolve the capacity to learn, which is why I suggested the Unit be allowed to perminently absorb some of its host DNA. Only then can it be expected to so quickly evolve the capacity to learn from its human host.
But this is only when looking at your idea scientifically. Philosophically you can do anything you want for your fic and I can already tell what you do with this idea will make for a very interesting story.
-
One thing about learning though, the potential has to be there to begin with and the Guyver organism is very alien from a human. You're assuming its mind is similar enough to ours to learn from us.
Hmm, might work better if your unit was simply different from others in that the CM, instead of strictly regulating the Unit, only sets boundaries from which the Unit can't deviate from. In other words, as long as the Unit does its job it will be allowed to work anyway it wants. This leaves room for an evolving unit when exposed to a host mind and DNA. Say it was originally intended as a controlled experiment but bonding to a human host creates something not originally intended. Access to human DNA would thus let the Unit gain the ability to learn.
Anyway, just my opinion.
-
Different programming. The Control Medal determines the function of the organism and the Relic has two CM's, both larger than a Unit CM.
Organisms have to be of same type to be compatable. The Unit-G shows the organism is very adaptable. The only way for DNA, proteins and stuff to be absorbed is by eating them. The Creation of the Gigantic shows both unit and Relic are compatable with each other.
-
For the Creators themselves the Unit was mainly a tool and yes the Unit adapts to the characteristics of its host.
The Gigantic shows that the Relic and Unit organisms are compatable, which can only be if they are based off the same organism. The Control Medal is the only inorganic tech the Creators have ever shown.
It is much easier for a space faring race if all there tech uses the same raw material for easy repair and interchangeable parts.

Hello Seven, an interesting idea that I'm sure will make an interesting fan fic but in terms of how this applies to the Manga is questionable. So let's think this out.
The Guyver organism is a parasitic lifeform, capable of adapting to extreme environments, discovered eons ago by the Creators long before they came to the Earth. Virtually all of the Creator technology is based off of it. Everything from the Relics, to G-Units, to removers are all composed of the Guyver organism and are controlled by a Control Medal. So yes, it can be viewed as being enslaved.
Both the Guyver effect and the power of a human hosted Unit came as a complete surprise to the Creators. The primary purpose of the first experimental bonding that produced Guyver 0 was to see if their creations would be compatable with their technology. The G-Unit is after all vital to being able to access and control the Creator technology like the Relics.
Though, they probably did also expect some increase in power due to the very nature of how the Unit works but were totally surprised when G0 used his mega smashers. They were actually pleased by the results but then discovered that they had no control over their new creation when they ordered him to remove his armor and he refused. Many of you can come to your own conclusion as to why this happened but I don't think it was because of the mind of the organism. After all it is always under the strict control of the Control Medal and the only thing that directly accesses the host mind is the CM and it was the host that refused the Creators command and not the Unit.
The Guyver self defense mode is not a result of the organism but rather the Control Medal. It is primarily when it is threatened that the Self Defense mode is activated. The only time the organism was shown with a consciousness of its own was in Manga when G1's severed forearm turned into a mutant clone of Sho. The severed forearm was not under the control of the CM, so it went out of control and absorbed the host DNA. Retaining enough of the host's memories for the mutant clone to find its way to Sho's school before confronting G1 and getting reabsorbed into G1 when it came into contact with the CM. Whether this was a result of the organism having a mind of its own or only taking advantage of host DNA to gain that ability is debateable.
The Guyver organism is an alien lifeform that evolved very differently from the way we did. So there is no reason to expect it to have emotions like us or even think in the way we do. However it is capable of merging with a human and taking on some human characteristics, but the organism by itself is probably still primitive minded if it has a mind at all.
Intelligence is only evolved when it provides a lifeform with a survival advantage. There is very little intelligence that a parasitic lifeform will need aside from a basic predatory mind. Also remember the Guyver organism was discovered by the Creators long before they came to the Earth. So is a very ancient form of life that due to the CM has remained unchanged since the Creators discovered it.
It is questionable if such an old, and highly regulated by the CM, lifeform can evolve beyond its present design. The only barrier I can see is the barrier imposed by the strict control over the organism by the Unit's CM but this does not prevent the organism from tapping into the host nervous system as can be shown by fact host feels pain when the armor is damaged.
As a life form, the organism can probably evolve if given the chance but such a old lifeform can probably only do that by merging, completely, with an already sentient being. For the sentient being who gets absorbed, this would most likely not be a desireable means of communicating.
As for when Sho couldn't activate his unit, that was simply because the trauma of realizing he had killed his father gave Sho a mental block that prevented him from calling the unit. Sho has to want the power to call it forth. Sho always disliked the Unit, he never wanted to be a Guyver. He's the classic relunctant hero. The trauma was just so bad for Sho that he couldn't bring himself to consciously remember what had happened until Aptom forced him to. The unit itself was simply waiting to be called.

Actually that's in the Manga, reason Control Medals are vulnerable to sonic attacks. But we do admit that it also had a cosmetic appeal as well.
-
McAvoy, most of your conclusions are correct, reason for pyramid shape is also because the fact the CM has a crystal like molecular structure. The combination of compression and multi CM segment design thus gives it a more diamond shape but yes it also gives it a cosmetic appeal, but the design is for far more than redundacy.
Parallel computing allows multiple processors to work together in a way that makes them even more powerful than even a single more powerful processor. The processors work togethor both as one and as seperate processors. Allowing them to handle a far greater load than any single processor can handle. This was my thinking when I suggested the four segment design to Brian, who originally suggested a two CM design to me.
For the WG.com Fan Fic. CM design hierarchy goes like this:
1) Standard CM-Basic Design
2) Compressed CM-Same size but 50% better than standard due to extra CM mass.
3) Dual CM (like Assassin Unit's have)-2x standard CM but takes up more space
4) Compressed Dual CM-Looks like standard but is basically 2 CM's in one.
5) WG CM - 4x standard CM. Same size as standard CM
6) Matrix WG CM - 10x Standard CM.
-
A normal CM controls and regulates the Guyver Unit and links it directly to host brain. Under the Takaya Yashiki concept it also helps create a link with all other CM's, creators are suppose to have a really big CM somewhere(supposedly at the heart of their empire) and creates a uni-mind among all the Creators and causes the Guyver effect in humans by raising their level of consciousness, combined with the unit inducing the bio-boost process to make them out of control. We of the WG fan fic don't really follow that as we like to keep away from concepts of Ki and Spirit energy. Just telling you so you know the difference between Manga and the WG fan fic.
The way we see it the CM is like a super computer that links to living organisms and controls them and allows communication with other CM's. The Bio-Boost process is a natural function of the Guyver organism, having originally been made from a parasitic organism it basically transforms the matter it bonds to into energy with a form of cold fusion. Not a new concept and was even used to explain how humans became batteries for the machines in the movie the Matrix. The CM determines the efficiency of the process, thus preventing the Unit from consuming the host, and allows the host to control the unit. Since the Unit can phase itself into hyper space to store itself, it has a natural HSL like power link that gives the CM the ability to regenerate the whole host/unit from just a few cells.
For the WG unit we expanded on this and created basically 4 CM's in one that work together to make an extremely powerful CM. This allows the HSL to be integrated into the Bio-Boost process and basically turbo charged it. This power generation is still limited to the host ability to handle generating that much power, this is both to keep our characters within the realm of sci-fi and so we don't have to deal with god like characters that would ruin story. This is why Dreadnought is limited to his present power level. Using the Power Boost mode for longer than 15 minutes would result in the destruction of host body. A more powerful and thus more durable host can be boosted to higher levels.

The Orange Enforcers are under the "No Comment" rule at this moment. Them aside my previous statement stands.

Specifically Angel can detect energy concentrations at distances of over 100 miles. That means stuff like an energy weapon charging up. The Eye of Chonos is a spy satellite and gives off very little energy, not even radio waves since it is accessed telepathically. So Angel wouldn't notice it unless pointed out to her first or happens to be looking in the right direction.
If it was a weapons satellite and it was preparing to fire then both Angel and Dreadnought would have detected it right away.
-
Yes, remember the range given in the Data Files is the active range where they can instantly detect and track target(s) and in some cases even analyze characteristics in detail. All units are capable of sensing things beyond the active range but either need to know where to look or something about the target(s) make them easier to sense.
Satellite orbits range from >50 Miles to a few thousand miles above the Earth, depending on mass, velocity, and what they're purpose is. They can be detected either by radar, or by their electromagnetic emissions, or by how they disturb the Earth's magnetic field, or by interference patterns such as when they pass in front of distant objects like stars, etc. Eye of Chronos Satellites can also be detected telepathically and by their life energy since they are alive.
Angel and Zeus are fully capable of detecting something in orbit but that doesn't mean they can tell more than what we can by simply looking at a distant object within the extremes of our visual range. They could tell something was there and maybe its approximate size and took a good guess but only Dreadnought knew for sure what he was sensing and that someone was using it to look back at him, which is the reason he obliterated it.

Kavzars, the vast majority are black, only those belonging to ranking Creators have individual colors. Green belongs to Draven while Blue belongs to Krullnar.
Since the Kavzar tech is a combination of both Guyver Unit and Zoalord tech, there where many prototypes of both types before they hit upon the right combinations. PG's unit was one of the failed experiments since it was still a Guyver but did prove the two different technologies could be combined. So Greg's unit was not the last nor was it the first.
BTW, FOAA is in the GWOTG universe. Angel is native to the WG universe.

The Grakken weapon staff can be used by anyone, but works best with a Guyver based being.
CyberGuyver... Not getting into too much detail as that could cover a full page or two. Suffice it to say his mind resides in his body, he's still a Guyver after all, but he can stay conscious if the brain is ripped out or damaged. He is not like Zygote so can't just choose a new host body, even if he could the CM and nanites would just remake it into what he has now.
For what is planned for CG, sorry "No Comment"
-
He's human, same as Faye. He'd be very ugly otherwise
-
I believe the word you're looking for is Neandertal. Actually there where several species of man like creatures before we showed up. Neandertal's also had very dense bones structure, you could bash one over the head with a club hard enough to crack open a normal persons head and it would just go "Ouch". Brain wasn't really smaller just designed differently.
In terms of fic we can safely assume since they had less developed brains that they where weeded out of experiment.
-
The "No Comment" aside... Fic usually center to areas where fighting takes place. Areas not mentioned are under complete Chronos Control. So would only be mentioned if a mission takes rebel forces into those areas.
As to origin of life. . . Life, as we know it, originated from the sea, though chemistry of life started on land. In manga the Creators came to Earth when life was still in its primordial stage so fact is they where everywhere on Earth. Only thing to originate, that we know of for sure, from Africa was humans and that was at a time long after the Creators had left. So quite frankly the Creators where all over the planet. Even if the Creators where based primarily in the area now known as Africa, it is less likely they would have left anything behind from their primary base of operations than their secondary bases.
Btw, did you know the human race was nearly wiped out 75,000 years ago by the eruption of a super volcano? It knocked world population down to a mere ~10,000. So fact scientist say we originate from Africa can simply mean the surviving humans on this planet originated from Africa, not necessarily that the humans species originated from Africa. But that's mostly academic as we still to built an accurate fossil record of the first humans.
-
Actually, by all accounts we have been able to gather from Manga. The Creators where not one race but a collective of many races. Most of them spent all their lives in space so did not have physical forms like ours, which developed in a gravity environment. So just like the little grey men with big eyes, they indeed had physical form but could not function well on Earth without the aid of a Control Unit. Most of the symbols used to show them in Manga are actually related to the Control Medal as the Units allowed the many aliens of the Creators to have a commonality or group consciousness. Also it is only logical to assume that beings that use organic technology have to be organic themselves.
-
Then you shift them in a single direction which should double their power each, then add the standard WG2 CPM shield, and using the second CPM to enhance the shield, you get 6 kilotons.
Is this how you did it?
I see now where you're getting confused McAvay.
You're assuming he can double forward his shields. Unless the Data File actually says shields can be focused in one direction, then it can't unless shield is directional to begin with and the Zeus Data File does not say that!
The Zeus armor was an experimental prototype to enhance the Warrior Project. It is the only early example that the Creators even considered anything like a Gigantic. The unit, as Agito found it, only provided a basic 2x boost to host unit power, which is reason I mentioned earlier Zeus is technically a 8x. But Agito had acquired a WG2 unit and with it some of the knowledge of WG2 Universe Solom. So he tweaked the armor a bit and added CPM to HSL power system. The Gigantic and Zoalord type shields are generated by same system so power divided between them for a total of 1.5 kiloton strength, which combined with body shield and armor allows him to withstand 2 kiloton blasts from any direction. His pressure cannon though takes full advantage of his power level and gives him a directional 3 kiloton shielding and then add host unit CPM 1 kiloton, gives him the total 6 kiloton durability.
This is also all consistent with Agito's fighting style. As G3 he started with a basic unit and no shields, so he is geared to delivering the damage and not receiving it. The Zeus armor reflects this and grants him a very high firepower rating for his power level. His Hyper Smashers alone have twice the firepower of what they should. Things like the Pressure Cannon also allow him to defend and attack in one move.
-
okay so if all wg are normaly blue then how come WG3 and WG5 aren't blue then
I did say it was "part" of reason. Agito's previous unit is part of reason for him, as well as part mental since WG unit's can change color if the host really wants it to. Also purple is just blue and red (Matt may be right bout the evil bit
) mixed together anyway. Green on other hand is a different part of spectrum all together. For WG5, he was an imperfect clone of WG's Unit so took on color of yellow, also Creators might have wanted to make his unit easily identifiable since he would be close to original WG for easy comparison.
When I said the cpms were more denfensive in WGC its because although it can be used as a weapon he has to ram into his target instead of firing a blat like is normaly done with the cpmsTrue but anything he rams, unless shielded, gets vaporized. Just cause he has to ram something does not make it any less a weapon. For example, a gun may have better range compared to a battle axe but both are deadly and in many cases the battle axe can also double as a shield. His Meteor Blast Field also greatly increases his speed so it is one of his most effective attacks.
Finally, well balanced units are nice but we have to put some realism in fic otherwise it'll degrade to total fantasy and then all the rules go out the window. Not to mention make things boring IMO.

Err wrong and too simplified... Okay, quoting from the text book;
"Plasmas consist of freely moving charged particles, i.e., electrons and ions. Formed at high temperatures when electrons are stripped from neutral atoms, plasmas are common in nature. For instance, stars are predominantly plasma. Plasmas are the "Fourth State of Matter" because of their unique physical properties, distinct from solids, liquids and gases. Plasma densities and temperatures vary widely. Plasma temperatures and densities range from relatively cool and tenuous (like aurora) to very hot and dense (like the central core of a star). Ordinary solids, liquids, and gases are both electrically neutral and too cool or dense to be in a plasma state.
Plasma consists of a collection of free-moving electrons and ions - atoms that have lost electrons. Energy is needed to strip electrons from atoms to make plasma. The energy can be of various origins: thermal, electrical, or light (ultraviolet light or intense visible light from a laser). With insufficient sustaining power, plasmas recombine into neutral gas.
Plasma can be accelerated and steered by electric and magnetic fields which allows it to be controlled and applied."
There is no such thing as a solid plasma material. It is only capable of existing as one of the other states of matter if it is cooled down into one of those states. The universe was created with a big bang, plasma was the first form of matter (The other states of matter were created when the plasma finally started to cool down) and is still the most common form that matter takes in the modern universe.
