That's quite an assumption there. It's never been stated if she's religious at all. In fact, if she was/is, it would be more likely that she is Shintoist or Buddhist. The term 'playing God' is very broad in the fact that many religions have had stories about man trying to match the God(s), and failing horribly for it.
