For me overall, I prefer the 2005 anime. Yeah the OVAs definitely had the better music, fight scenes, and animation(first 6 of course), but I prefer the fact that the anime sticks to the manga far closer than anything before it. And it still kept Murakami's Gun.

Jupiter, the way I understand it. The original cast is there to help make way for the new cast. They'll move the focus I believe in Episode 8. Yuki, I really haven't Serkis in anything but Peter Jackson's movies(aka only LotR, Hobbit, and King Kong). I'm not saying he's great, but I wouldn't compare him to Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's friendship. And Helena is Burton's wife.
