I don't mind, I do these investigations of my own volition and it is a satisfying challenge. in your rearranged version ,you have used 'super lifeform' twice. aside from that, I do not personally approve of mixing up the dialogue. I believe that the dialogue from one section should stay in that section. if this re-translated dialogue were to be put into the guyver advocacy pages, the right phrase needs to go in the right balloon in order to fit with the pictures and have the intended pacing. but of course you never said that was your intention so no worries yes guyver does perform as a symbiosis, but it is clear that it is a parasite by nature. was just thinking about the behaviour of it in book 2.

on the spine it says "original anime video, original soundtrack". unfortunately the kanji is not present there either heh heh, nice explanation of the viz titles

oops, sorry to double post. been scrutinising the kanji æ®– shoku. youngguyver, you'll like this if you're reading. the kanji shoku is often used in biological terms. so the term bio-boost is actually very suitable for the kanji we are shown in the title of guyver. so what we have here is a kanji that my main dictionary describes as 'augment' but in actuality, probably means more like organic propagation or breeding, or organically increasing. I believe this does link strongly to the actions of a parasite, so this sentence above could be describing the actions of a parasite latching onto a host and propagating throughout. so in fact pervading would be a good word to use.

cheers. but i am still not happy with 'pervading'. you see, the kanji that is used... there is absolutely no english equivalent for it. I'm not just talking about an awkward word. there is no term for it. at least not one that i know or have been able to find. one of the kanji is used with a different one but pronounced the same to mean 'predation' or 'eating prey'. but that kanji is switched with the kanji for augmentation. the one used in 'kyoushokusoukou', 'booster armour' . so the most straight forward way I could say it is that it means "catching prey in order to augment/boost it". it's like predation, but instead of eating, it is augmenting. aggressively catching a creature in order to increase it's abilities. I can't think of any term for that. pervading works in a poetic way... but it's not technically correct. it's frustrating edit: it could be a portmanteaux though... if that is the case.. we could creatively come up with something perhaps.

I honestly find escape to be irritating. that forced laugh is just so grating.

yeah, we had a LOT of problem with that part. I remember talking over that part with durendal for quite a while trying to reach a satisfying compromise. my japanese is better now. let's have another look. æ•æ®–ã—ãŸï¼ˆã»ã—ょãã—ãŸï¼‰çŸ¥æ€§ä½“ã¨æœ‰æ©Ÿçš„ã«çµåˆã—... pervading intelligent life and binding organically... ãã®ç”Ÿä½“機能を強化.増幅ã™ã‚‹æœªçŸ¥ã®â€è¶…â€ç”Ÿå‘½ä½“ this organism's function is to strengthen. an amplifying, strange "super" life-form. ã“れã«å¢—æ®–ã¨æš´èµ°ã‚’抑ãˆã‚‹ã‚³ãƒ³ãƒˆãƒãƒ¼ãƒ«ãƒ¡ã‚¿ãƒ«ãŒçµ„ã¿ã“ã¾ã‚Œã€‚。。 the Control Metal Organises this boost suit, restraining this from rampaging and multiplying... 殖装.分離ã®è‡ªåœ¨ãªâ€å¼·æ®–装甲システムâ€ã‚’å½¢æˆã™ã‚‹ã€‚。。 a freely removable bio-boost armour system is formed... ã“れãŒãƒ¦ãƒ‹ãƒƒãƒˆï¼Žï¼§ã That is the unit-g.

I don't see any kanji on there that matches. exceptional does have a sort of revering yet fearful connotation. I do like it.

Boost Organisms Armour state and interaction with Humans

hormones could work very well as a chemical messenger. do hormones actually change the functions of cells though? I was under the impression that when cells replicate or die or change function, it is due to RNA. I don't see any way the cells of the host could change into the upgraded organs of the guyver, without having RNA somehow involved. -
yeah. something we already knew. BUT... it is 600 next. cheers Cannibal, that was great oh yeah, this chapter was pretty nice. would have liked a bit more movement, but it was a nice sweet look at the past lives of the jounins we know so well.

some nice ideas. to me, when I think of the word anomaly, It makes me think of an unusual situation or an unexpected outcome. but personally, it doesn't suggest a non-standard product/item. I think any suitable word would need to keep away from any inference of 'perversion' or any negative connotation. because the Japanese term doesn't appear to have a connotation. it's like looking at a factory item and seeing that it is not within the normal parameters. this could be a custom item or a special edition or it could be an off-cut. è¦æ ¼å¤–å“ apologies, I did a further examination of the kanji and noticed a minor error on my part. I was looking for the first definition of the final kanji which is pronounced 'shina' and not 'hin'. looking at the definition of 'hin', this doesn't change the meaning a great deal, but it does have a certain 'flavour'. whilst it does still mean 'item' or 'thing' it is also coupled with 'refinement' or 'grace'. this suggests that the phrase has a positive connotation. something to be admired. so the use of 'beyond the norm' would be more eloquent that 'non-standard'. but of course, looking at what happened to the creators and seeing that the guyver was undesirable... it's a tough one. on one hand, it is something to be admired. on hte other, something to be reviled.

if you honestly think the thread poses a serious concern, we can always discuss that. I've never seen it as a problem, but if a number of members find it truly objectionable and/or offensive, then obviously we need to look at what is best for the majority.

I don't believe he was pointing a finger at us. that photo is of a building in Japan. as far as I know, none of us are in Japan or at Japanese border control. I realise that post came right after our posts but as Harry capstan has never acknowledged our posts before, I doubt he would do so now. it's just an unfortunate placement. I recommend no paying attention to it or placing harry capstan on your ignore list if the thread bothers you this much. edit: I've received confirmation that this post was not aimed at anybody on this forum. I respect Harry Capstan's decision to remain quiet except for limited communications with myself so I won't go into it in detail other than to say the post was indeed aimed at the occupants of that building.

ah yes. you play these games very technically. I tend to be a spearhead type player. I'm very single minded in my setup. make it so the enemies can't hurt me much, but make sure i can kill them as fast as possible. therefore i usually stack my attack power above all else. I also focus on the spear tip, that is a very focused single tip. all my stats go into making one ability or move type as powerful as possible. then i use that to plough through them. I don't like to focus on a lot of different tactics because i simply can't cope with it. with my support players, I choose abilities which are passive and provide support to my main focus moves. if I can;'t do that then I create a separate sideline tactic that is designed to draw fire and cause a specific weakness. I can't deal with different tactics. it's the way my mind works. I'm very good at focusing on one thing, but poor at multitasking.

well i think we can ask the following question. which of the following did he actually say? he wanted to give a realistic feel to godzilla he wanted to give a realistic feel to godzilla I'd love to see the true godzilla with all cool close-up detailed shots and with awesome facial animation. also, it would be an excellent way to bring out his personality in his face. I am sure many fans have understood his character. while he is a giant killing machine, he also has some personality. I think he's kind of similar to the hulk in that regard, what do you think?

I'm really not sure what you mean... haven't played it since January so I don't have any idea how it works. I remember he had something called 'bitey'. oh yeah I am remembering things now. there was a line with coloured icons. I remember choosing blue ones that were good for my friends. and different coloured ones that had a lot of damage points. were there armour choices too? yes I remember armours... it made him look different. I remember he looked like he was wearing a woolly scarf at one point. I'm not sure about statistics on the armours.... i think high defence was a priority. oh yeah there were gems and sockets weren't there? I remember i think i gave him some yellow ones. yellow gems. does that make sense? maybe i got mixed up with final fantasy 7.... oh yeah riki needed gems with higher magic attack. can't think of much more than that. did i cover it all? does it make sense to you?

thanks v much guys hey Odin, thanks for the feedback on the fire. I had a hell of a time trying to figure out a way to do good fire. still did not do good enough XD need to study fire dynamics if I need to do fire again. oh hey cannibal, that is my favourite too. the sun above the trees

good luck with that they are tough. I generally used reyn and riki. reyn was always a good tank from the beginning. not indestructible though, so riki was a good backup, while dealing serious amounts of damage at all times. reyn didn't do such huge damage but he really kept their attention. riki wouldn't have survived if it wasn't for reyn, but when reyn went down, riki kept them off me and did a good job of lasting until I could revive reyn.

hmm... do you think they could actually do it properly? if they can steer clear of crappy hollywood producers, maybe. the description sounds good and that image looks interesting.

I don't know, I don't think it was completely fair to say the first one was 'utterly fail'. The guy was no irrational in what he said and his point has some validity. it is absolutely true that the guyver is not strong enough to take down a zoalord at that point. the question of whether or not that ,makes for good viewing is a matter of opinion. he's only expression his own view and as adults we ought to respect that.

I was thinking of that too. but I don't think it's necessarily due to time travel. I was thinking what if a consciousness had a body that was artificially altered to allow the awareness to gear down when nothing much is happening. not necessarily sleep, but a slowed cognition. about our technology curve, we have a driving force. or perhaps a few driving forces. our ability to live on this planet safely is one driving force. we have yet to master the environment or find a way to escape it should the worst happen. then there is re-settling. we have yet to find a world that could support us, or find a way to make a world support us. in terms of survival, our vulnerability drives us. but when we get to a stage where technologically, we could survive the total destruction of our planet, what would the species strive for? what would be our driving force for our invention. if necessity is the mother of invention, without any necessity... our technology development will slow.

hey dude, nice to see you back I understand how you feel, I also don't really feel like writing much recently due to personal problems. I also recommend this game. I sold my Wii to get a ps3, but as soon as I can start earning good money, I will buy a wii again for this game.

we already corrected for 800 square miles rather than 800 miles. it says 'area of the island' so it is a reasonable assertion. but acres is a blatant switcharoo. I doubt Takaya-sensei could make such a mistake. it could be possible that the area of the island represented by 800 sq-miles is the area reaching out to just past the vortexes. I think we could safely make that stretch. but... I am really unsure about your 8:1 ratio there... while I used a circle to convert the area, I think your 2:1 ratio was more sensible. 40 miles by 20 miles seems more reasonable for the shape. I think we can count the bay as being within the boundaries of the island. if we were to take into account the possible distances of the giant vortexes I think we could potentially whittle the size of the island to about 10 miles across? but I think that's pretty liberal. it's tough, because the number doesn't tally with what we see. I'd say it could be a typo, but the same figure is in the manga and the VDF.

it seems to be about 30 miles across.

evolution and cultural development etc, technological advances only happen when there is a need for it. in idealogical societies, where there is no challenge and where things start to run like clockwork, the rate of change will slow to a crawl. if the creators won their war or if the war ended, their civilisation would have changed little. our civilisation changes rapidly because there is a drive for it. but when people start to become comfortable with their situation, they cease to evolve. or evolve very slowly. take a look at the Amish as a good example. since the advents chose to evolve life on earth in order to fight their war, it's possible their culture stagnated and they found themselves unable to adapt or change quickly. so they chose to recruit a form of life that is evolving quickly. it's also possible that their kind of war is completely different from ours. perhaps their wars are more like a cold war. perhaps there was no actual fighting. perhaps the war was the speed with which they could develop a strong slave race.
